Is Satellite P200-1C2 (PSPB6E) 64-bit Windows 7 compatible?

Hey Guys,
I got one question there:
I've been trying to find drivers for my Satellite P200 PSPB6E, and I found pretty much all but there is no VAP for the 64-bit version of Windows 7...
I tried the VAP of the Satellite P500 Series and it works more or less but the FN-Hotkey Button won't bring up the flash cards! (that's my major problem so if I could solve that one, the following is not that important)
So my question is, is there the possibility that Toshiba will provide a VAP for Win 7 64-Bit or is that notebook just to old and not compatible anymore?
Or is there another way to grab those drivers I need for those funktions?
Thanks guys!
greets,
Rough

As you know Windows 7 is already long time on the market and if Toshiba didn't offered Win7 64bit stuff until now I don't think it will happen in the future.
What you have done is right. You can try one more thing, to find Flash card support utility for other notebook model and try to install it on your Satellite P200.
I am not sure this will help but you can try it.
Check also flash cards settings and enable option Allow the mouse to bring up the cards. Maybe this option will help you to see use flash cards using mouse pointer.

  • Re: Satellite P200-1FJ - LAN driver for Windows 7 64bit

Can anybody help me for LAN driver for Satellite P200-1FJ? I have Windows 7 64bit, when I ask for this driver in toshiba site, reed "Sorry we couldn't find any drivers matching your search criteria. "

    Hi legiadb,
The drivers you can download here:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Download Drivers
As you probably already saw, no Windows 7 64bit driver is available so I would recommend testing the Vista 64bit driver.
Does it work on Windows 7?
Alternative check the Realtek page directly ;)

  • NOT 64-Bit Windows Compatible

I found out after purchasing the iPhone that the interface through iTunes is not compatible with the 64-Bit versions of Windows XP and Windows Vista.
I was lucky enough to have a spare computer (a machine I try new software with) and was able to activate it. The only problem is my music, calendar, contacts and all other information that I would like to sync is on my 64-bit Windows Vista PC.
The solution that Apple technician I got claimed that it would work (he was unaware of the issue). When he transfered me to his supervisor he claimed that it wasn't a big deal since he personally had only heard of one other call about this issue. He offered one solution: "You could downgrade to a 32-bit version of Windows." This is not a solution in my opinion.
They refused to offer any other help or to try to follow up with it in any fasion. They are unwilling to say if offering 64-bit Windows support is even being discussed. This leaves me with a dilemma: Should I assume since they are saying nothing that they aren't going to add support and return the iPhone at the end of the two weeks; or should I hope and pray that even though they refuse to comment on the issue a fix is in the works and risk having a useless communication center (which is what the iPhone was intended to be for me)?

Normally I see "AS IS" in reference to eBay auction items that have unstated problems.
True the information was there, but never in my wildest dreams did I think that 64-bit compatibility was a concern I needed to research (it was not stated in plain site originally and I'm not sure if it spells it out now on the product specs [http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html]).
I completely understand that future products/innovations/ideas/trade secrets/etc. should not be discussed by a successful company (that wishes to remain so) before a decision has been made. The fact is that support of a 64-bit OS is not a novel idea and is a standard consideration with driver development. There is no reason to not try to help out the users of a 64-bit OS by indicating if it is even a consideration. I am willing to gamble and keep it if Apple is at least considering the development of 64-bit OS support.
Thank you for the advice though. I am leaning towards returning it, or selling it on eBay "AS IS." (hopefully the friendly humor isn't lost in the text)

  • Re: Satellite P200-1FC - What DVD writers are compatible

Toshiba Satellite P200-1FC - need advice as what to buy to replace dvd writer which is not burning.
    So going to replace it.
    Thank you ricky

    Hi
You need an compatible one due to the different master/slave/c-sel settings.
Im not quite sure what drives could be supported but in my user manual which was preinstalled on my notebook (unfortunately not P200) I could find a list of compatible drives. Maybe your user manual contains the similar list
But if you will not find any details about the compatible media in you user manual then you could contact the authorized service provider in your country and could order such ODD.

  • 2nd HDD for Satellite P200-1FC

Is is possible to install a 2nd HDD in a Satellite P200-1FC (PSPB6E)? There is an empty bay, but no connector. Is it possible to purchase and install a connector so that a 2nd HDD can be fitted?

Very often discussed theme on this forum!
If there is no connector the upgrade is not possible. Notebook case is for all P200 the same. Some of them are delivered with 2 HDDs. Because of that you have found empty place for second HDD. The mainboard in your notebook is not prepared to work with 2 HDDs.
The same situation is on my P200D.

  • New Driver Alert 22 May 2008 - Satellite P200-1FC

A TEMPO alert asked me to download vap-20080109135106.zip but when run it I get no further than an error message RegDBGetItem failed (1). Looking in the download I see nothing newer than year 2007. Should I just ignore this 'update'? .....and, yes, I ran the correct button version.

    Hello
If you want to install latest version 1.1.7 the preinstalled one must be removed at first. I have installed this version on my Satellite P200D and flash cards are shown much faster than before (old VAP version).
Because of that I recommend you to remove preinstalled version and install version 1.1.7. I have checked Toshiba download page and this version is listed for your Satellite P200-1FC (PSPB6E).
    Bye and good luck!

  • Satellite P200-17C: graphics in XP seems to be running a bit sluggish

    Hi all
    I've just bought a Satellite P200-17c.
I've set up my dual boot with Vista and XP (that was REALLLLY hard) everything seems to be almost OK, but..... The graphics in XP seems to be running a bit sluggish, when you scroll a window in a browser it seems to 'refresh' in blocks - it's not moving right. If I go to device manager under other devices there are two things for which there is no driver install, one says: VGA controller, the other says: unknown device!
It's true that I haven't istalled the ATI drivers yet.... But that's because the only place I can find to get them for XP is from the Toshiba support area, the file is 162MB (not that big) but it is downloading at such a slow pace even though I have a fast connection, I don't even know if it will work?!
I've tried some things from the ATI site directly, althought I was trying to install the drivers for the ATI HD2400 graphics card that the machine has, on installation it said it couldn't continue as there wasn't any compatable hardware connected.....
My download from the Toshiba area has already gone wrong once, meaning I have to re-start it.
Does any one have any light they can shine on this issue. If any one has the driver downloaded already and fancies sticking on mega upload or something, that'll be fun???!!!!!
    Ideas suggestion welcome!

    Hi
I was very curious about driver offered on Toshiba support page. You are right about file. It is about 160 MB and I have needed 20 minutes for download but download was successfully and I do not see any problem that you can not do the same.
Extract the file and just use setup.exe to start driver installation.

  • Satellite P200-P100 - Black screen after a Windows 7 update

    Hi,
    I have a Toshiba Satellite P200-P100 running Windows 7.
A few weeks ago, after a Windows 7 Update, my monitor would not show any image, it would light up, but still no image. Not even the BIOS it would load.
I fixed it by using System Restore using another monitor. The same happened again today, I must have ran the same update, but this time a system restore did not solve it, neither did reinstalling Win 7.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Spre3

    Hi
You mean you cannot see anything on the internal nor the external monitor even switching the display output pressing the FN + F5 buttons???
Hmm. in my personal opinion this has nothing to do with the Win 7 update
I mean the Win 7 OS update/installation should not affect the BIOS and you should be able to access the BIOS even if no operating system would be installed on the HDD!!!
So I assume the whole issue could be related to the motherboard issue or some parts placed on motherboard
    Did you try this?
Remove the battery and disconnect the AC adaptor
Then wait a little bit (1hour) and then connect both parts again.
Then try to power up the unit
If this will not help then the RAM modules should be checked.

  • Installing devices under windows XP on Satellite P200-14H

    Hi,
I have recently purchased Satellite P200-14H. It came with Vista home and since CAD software we use in our company doesn't work on it, we installed WXP on it. Everything works fine, we got the system almost fully functional, installed 99% of the drivers, but in device manager I still have 2 devices that are not installed:
    1. PCI Memory Controller
    2. Video Controller (VGA Compatible)
For PCI Memory Controller Ive tried just about everything and I think that ATI catalyst software doesn't recognize mobility radeon 2600 HD because of it (I get an error "no compatible hardware was found on your computer".
Does anyone know how to solve this problem? I need to send this laptop out on the field with a constructor next week, and it can't go like this...
    Thank You

First of all the problem with the drives is easy finde out what chipset u have (32 or 64) (ICH8M_32bit or ICH7M_32bit for ex) and go to THIS PAGE download the drivers and u have a folder called F6flpy in wich are the drivers for atat
from here u have 2 options
1 u buy an usb floppy and u put the deriver on a disk and u instal them from here
2 u go to http://www.nliteos.com/download.html download the program which let's u put this drivers on to the windows kit and rewrite the new kit on to a cd disc (this is what i did)
I hope it help if not give me an email.

  • Satellite P200 - Microphone has stopped working after Windows 7 install

My Satellite P200 came with Vista Ultimate, the mic worked for a few months suddenly it stopped. I decided to install Windows 7, but mic still does not work.
    Any ideas anyone?
I use this laptop to skpe my folks a lot. I can use an external mic fine, but really want my inbuilt one working again.

    Hi buddy,
Sounds like its something wrong with your Windows 7 installation if the microphone doesnt work anymore...
I would recommend updating the webcam driver because the microphone is a part of it. You can find driver updates here:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com
I dont know what Satellite P200 you have exactly but if you cant find a Windows 7 driver for webcam, choose another model that is fully Windows 7 supported, e. g. Satellite P300.

  • Satellite P200 (PSPBGA) - Fingerprint and webcam don't work on Windows 7

I am using a Satellite P200 (PSPBGA) and have upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit.
However the Toshiba Fingerprint Utility and Chicony Web Camera Assistant Software both don't work. I have checked and there are no new updates on the Australian website.
Can you please help me out with these two issues?

    Hi Boarder
Thanks for your suggestions. I have tried the Vista drivers and the US Toshiba page, unfortunatley neither work.
I went to the Upek website for the bio finger print software which is two fold over the latest version supported by Toshiba for Vista. I'll wait to see if Toshiba bring out a version for Win7 as the one I downloaded is limited, otherwise I am happy to pay approx $15 for the full version.
I really need the webcam to function though. I think the driver is ok, just need the sofware to run the inbuilt camera.
    Cheers

  • Windows XP and Satellite P200-1I4

    I wish to buy Satellite P200 1l4 (PSPB3).
But I do not like Windows vista and I wish installing Windows XP.
Whether there will be problems with installing WXP and adjustment of components (camera, sound, video etc)?

I didnt notice any serious problems with the XP on the P200 series.
Firstly you will have to install the SATA driver (Intel Matrix Storage Manger).
This driver is necessary to recognize the HDD during the XP setup procedure.
The Toshiba European deriver page provides all necessary XP drivers and tools for the P200 series.
So I would recommend following the installation order mentioned in the installation instruction txt file which can be found on the driver page too.
    Then everything should run smoothly
    Bye
