Is screen guard foam cleaning spray safe for cleaning?

I saw a few people recommend the screen guard foam cleaning spray to clean their computer screens (product link provided below) becuase it's supposed to be non-water based so it shouldn't hurt your electronics. i did a little bit of research on the web, but i couldn't find nearly as much info on it as i would have liked.
does anyone know for sure that it is safe? if you have used it, i would love to hear your take on it.

Here are a few ideas that might be helpful...
I make sure my computer is completely SHUT DOWN before I begin any cleaning process.
I always use the microfiber cloth I got for cleaning my camera lens and glasses. When using it on the display, I make sure it's clean, then I use very soft, circular strokes, as gently as possible, in small increments, all across the display. I take my sweet time.
When done, my Mac is brought back to life, and the display looks wonderfully clear.

  • How to clean the screen guard of iPod Touch!!!

I've installed a screen guard on my new iPod Touch 4G So can you please tell me how to clean the finger prints put on it. Any special cloth or anything

You probably should ask the company that made the screen guard. Otherwise, the microfiber cloth such as is commonly used to clean eyeglasses will probably work.

I originally had a Zagg screen cover but they are tricky to install good. Too easy for a piece of lint or such to get under them. I replaced it with a cheap 'three covers for 5 dollars' screen protector. It's a bit annoying because its glossy....but right now I have my iPad in a Zagg portfolio so it's in a case with a keyboard - and there are little rubber bumpers that touch the iPad, and I like the thought of having the screen protector there just in case.
Look for one that advertises no residue and that clings more by static than any adhesive. I'd also look and see if it advertises clarity and a matte surface...the glossy iPad screen can be a bit tricky in the wrong lighting.
I'll always have one on mine, just because. I've sunk a chunk o change into this and I'd like to protect it.

  • Are lens cleaner cds safe for macbook's lens (as in slot lens)?

I've been having problems in running DVDs on my new mid 2010 Macbook, a message appears saying that the computer cannot read this disk, I have read that a lot of people with similar problems usually get it fixed using a lens cleaner cd, but are these safe for slot lenses of macs or will they cause damage?

If you are talking about the disks that have the little hair-like pieces hanging down, I would be hesitant to use one in a slot loading drive.  I have used them in CD/DVD players and drawer drives, but not so sure about a slot loading drive.  Clearances are pretty tight and you might tear off one of those protrusions.
Other types of cleaning disks might work.
Might be good to stop by an Apple Retail store and talk to the genius bar folks and see what advice they give.

  • Screen guard for xperia z2

which screen guard is best for xperia z2

On my last Z1 i didn't fit a screen guard front or back but with the Z2 i fitted a simple thin plastic one on the back even tho it is kept in the official Sony Wallet Style case....found on my Z1 that even tho it was in a case the back glass did get some minor scratches due to dirt getting trapped between the case/glass.
Did have a plastic guard on the front of the Z2 but i thought it 'dulled' down the display a bit so am looking at the Tempered Glass screen protectors just now, there are many, many ones out there ranging from £3-£30....did buy a SPIGEN one but i mucked up the install (dont ask) & i thought it did not fit as well as i hoped (it was the European model glass).....have bought a £3 one but not fitted it yet, did 'measure it up' against the screen & it is a far better fit than the Spigen....
    Obviously just my opinion tho
So hopefully this long winded explanation helps....good luck

  • Is a stylus safe for iPad's screen?

I am trying not to put on a screen protector on my iPad as 1) I never liked the look of the screen protector on devices before and 2) oo lazy Anyway, if I get a stylus, will that increase the chance of screen scratches? Thanks in advance for your input.

I wouldn't recommend just any stylus. You'll want something that has a soft tip and does capacitive touch. My recommendation would be the Pogo stylus at Thinkgeek.com for around $14.99. It won't damage the iPhone/iPad screen and is sort of like the ones they use in the Apple Store when they check you out.

  • IMac 8.1 3.06 GHz w/6 MB Ram, Lion and dead HD? all I get is "Gray Screen w/wirlie gig" but now for a new twist a circle with a diagonal line, like don't go. Is this a DEAD HD?

I have a iMac 8.1 3.06 GHz w/6 MB Ram, and was running Mac OS X 10.6.8. My 500 GB WD5000AAKS was about 90% full. I had an issue with the admin password, it would not accept any of my known passwords. I ran for a while on the fingerprint reader I had, we have two users on the machine in our home. I tried many attempts to fix this problem without success I came up with a plan. That plan was a new HD, used a 2TB Samsung. plan worked like a charm. Installed a 4 GB Ram Chip and the new Samsung, formatted it, loaded Snow Leopard, and loaded what was on my Time Machine backup all was good.
This was early July, then Lion was available I was happy with what I had, I had 1.450 TB of free space. So, what the heck, lets spring for Lion, that even went well for a not even 2 weeks, enough that I had several Time Machine backups.
Then monitor goes flash, flash then I try a re-boot same gray screen with whirlie gig that I had when the the HD in my MacBook Pro died. Put the old 500 GB WD back in and all was fine, ran for a day. It was OK except back to no password and full. Went down to my local computer shops here in Rayong Thailand and sprung for a New 2 TB WDXXX, put that in, used my Snow Leopard disk to format and load OS X 10.6.8. I though that all was good, the load from Time Machine was slow and the time remaining was changing all the time, took about 3 hrs for about 300 MB that where on the LaCie.
Now I have a password issue, however it asks for a password reset that it will NOT take and I don’t even get that now. All I get is the infamous “Gray Screen w/wirlie gig” but now for a new twist a circle with a diagonal line, like don’t go. Is this a DEAD HD? I plan to re-install the old 500GB just to systems check and if all is well I will take the “NEW” 2 TB WD back for replacement. I am thinking that I should put the new HD in and format and load Snow Leopard then up date to Lion then do my Time Machine backup. The only problem is does the circle with the diagonal line mean something more? If so how does one recover Lion with no disk if that is what I need to do. Yes, I have tried control “R” on boot, nadda, no response, “mai dee” no good. Ideas, please.

I have an iMac 8, 1 that I upgraded Leopard to Snow Leopard.  It was totally updated with the latest from Apple when I bought and tried installing Lion.  The upgrade failed, shot my OS and I couldn't boot.  Had the constant spinner on a grey screen..  did a format of the drive, hdd repair and everything came back clean... got back to Snow Leopard and all the updates on it again and then retried the Lion thing... same bs... dead duck.  Crashed my system one too many times.  I can't see where a few small changes, mostly app related can be classified as an OS upgrade and is not compatible with my iMac.  I have the stuff running on my Mac Pro but have yet to notice anything impressive.  I've always used F3 and really didn't require Mission Control.  Just open you app folder for launch pad... duh?  I use the hot corners anyhow.  As far as Safari is concerned... as a power user, Apple missed the boat on that for me.. full screen etc.. Wow.  I don't like the new Mail either..
As you can see/read, I'm less than impressed with this release from Apple but I own so many of their products that I will have to put up with it for now... somehow the MS logo should apply to this release Steve.

A Safe Mode boot might help ..
Startup your Mac in Safe Mode
A Safe Mode boot takes much longer than a normal boot so be patient.
Once you are in Safe Mode, click Restart from the Apple () menu.
    See if the problem persists.

  • Is it safe for iPhone to run alarm clock app and be on all night, every night?

Is it safe for the screen to be on all night every night running an alarm clock app? Yes it is plugged in and charging.

I use the builtin alarm clock app all the time without any problems.
I don't plug the iPhone in because it appears to use very little battery while it is sleeping.

  • I removed my iphone screen guard ..if i use it without screen guard is there any possibility in  formation of scratches

i removed my iphone screen guard ..if i use it without screen guard is there any possibility in formation of scratches

Only if you carry loose diamonds in your pocket. The glass on the iPhone is Corning Gorilla Glass, and is very hard. It's not a good idea to carry an iPhone (or any other phone, for that matter) loose in your pocket without a case that covers the screen, earpiece, dock conntector, headphone jack speaker and mic. There's too much in most people's pockets that can damage these parts, or get into them. Pocket lint in the Lightning connector or headphone jack can cause all kinds of mischief, and the mic, speaker and earpiece are completely exposed.
The screen natively has a coating on it that repels oils, making it very easy to remove fingerprints with a tissue or cloth. Putting a screen protector on the phone defeats this feature.

I cannot read, use my iPad outdoors?  Cannot read books, surf the net; nothing.  Apple sold me a screen guard to help with the glare, I've adjusted the settings to just about every combination but still nothing.  HELP!!

Turning the brightness up as much as possible will help a little. However, as Skydiver notes, screens like those used in tablets and cell phones don't work well in bright sun. That's why I have a Kindle for reading outside. Not to mention, I'd feel a lot less awful if I got sand in a $100 ereader than if I got it in my $700 iPad.
