Is Searching iCloud Calendar Possible?

I love how you can look at your iCloud calendars via a web browser in addition to your iOS devices (iPhone 5/ iPad / etc.)...but perhaps I am overlooking something in the interface...but I cannot seem to do a simple search of your calendar in ANY WAY?
I have converted ALL my Google calendars over to iCloud calendars since Google is slowly eliminating functionality like Exchange ActiveSync...which starts affecting how calendars appear.  My wife and I use multiple calendars that we share and love how the iCloud calendars work on our iPhone 5 devices...but I also love being able to access our same calendars via a browser on a PC (Chrome/iE/Safari)...but I seemed to have gone backwards in an important way - I don' see any search function.
I have tried all three browsers (Chrome, iE, Safari) and it does not behave any differently.
Am I mistaken or is this simply something Apple overlooked?  If Apple did overlook this feature...is there plans to add it and if so - when?
Thanks for any feedback any of you may provide on this subject.

Using Mac Calendar and iPhone calendar app searches used to work for me in lieu of having a search app in iCloud calendar, but since upgrading to Yosemite my late-2009 iMac's desktop calendar is in a more-or-less constant state of freeze / crash (locks up from 5 to 15 minutes every time I click on the program), displays all the calendars even those that are supposedly hidden, and not all the information from iCloud shows up on my phone (although it does show up on the desktop Calendar for some reason), so I have exactly zero ways left to search. The only thing I can use Calendar for now is to do everything on iCloud or phone then once a day I open the desktop version but only if I need to print (it shows everything from iCloud and the phone and I can turn off calendars I don't want to see, but only from the print menu), and printing now takes 1/2 hour or longer whereas it used to only take maybe less than a minute. I had hoped that OS X 10.10.1 would solve this, but it hasn't, nor has adding an extra 8gb SDRAMM, resetting PRAM, resetting permissions, using Disk Utility to analyze and repair the disk, rebooting, reinstalling Yosemite or anything else that has been suggested to me. The only suggestion I haven't tried yet is a blank install of Yosemite because it would take too long to reinstall everything after wiping the hard drive and I am not sure I remember all my product info for every program on the computer. The 10.10.1 patch solved my stability problems with preview, safari, iPhoto, and my third party software seems to work okay, at least the ones I've used since the "upgrade" to Yosemite. My suggestion is that if you need to use the desktop calendar, stick with Mavericks and wait for Apple to send a patch specific to the calendar problems. Once they get the Calendar bugs worked out, I think it will be a pretty good OS X, although it still freezes more than Lion did (Mavericks had problems for me but not the Calendar).

  • Why can't I search icloud calendar

I can search mail, contacts, notes, and reminders.
Why, for the love of god, can I not search calendar?!!
    Simon

You're welcome.  If you entered new events for next week that don't appear on your iPad, they were probably entered on a non-iCloud calendar.  If you have now set the default calendar to be your iCloud calendar on your phone, you will have to re-enter the events on your iCloud calendar and delete them from the non-iCloud calendar to get them on your iCloud calendar and not see duplicate events on your phone.  (There isn't a way to move them from one calendar to the other.)

So, you're not really asking how to search contacts notes on the device. You just came to tell us you switched to to the S4.
    Good luck!

  • Can you sync an iCloud calendar to a Google calendar?

Hi all. I have searched the forum for an answer to my question but haven't found one. Lots of variations though!
I have an iCloud calendar that I set up on my MacBook.  I can access the calendar on my iPad, iPhone etc and all is good.  I have shared this calendar with some friends who also use iOS devices.  They can access the calendar via there iOS devices and all is working well.
What I need to do is share the calendar with friends/colleagues who are not Apple users. I don't want these individual to have edits rights, I only want them to view only.  From going through the forum it seems that with previous verisons of OS X you used to be able to publish a calendar to a webpage. This would be ideal for me!! However it seems that with current version of OS X you cant do this, or not with iCloud calendars anyway? Maybe I am wrong here?
Anyway, I thought that a workaround could be that I could sync the calendar with a Google calendar and then publish the Google calendar online and just share the URL with my friends/colleagues who need to see the information.  However I don't know if this is possible.
If you are reading and know a simpler way of of achieving this then I would love to hear from you.  Basically I have an iCloud calendar that I want to make accessible to lots of people, ideally through a webpage or URL.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Can't see month view in iCloud calendar

When I click on the month view tab at the bottom of the iCloud calendar screen, nothing happens. For that matter, clicking on the day tab doesn't do anything either.
As another annoyance, in the week view I see the weeks events that were brought in from my Mac, but going to the next week shows no events. HELP!

I am having the same problem. It started when the month view was not available. It took me a long time to figure out that when I minimize the month view, it shows up on the dock as a teeny tiny icon. When I click it, nothing happens. When I go to Week View then my calendar shows up. NOW though, my week view has disappeared and now I'm only left with DAY view. The same exact thing happens in Week view. I have no window, nothing to "grab" that I can possibly see to get it back on my screen. BUT it will be a teeny tiny icon when it's minimized.
The only thing I can think of is that I'm a tech teacher using a projector and my laptop changes resolutions with different software programs. I have had iCal open when the resolution has had to change. The only thing I can think of is that somehow that did something to the window and I can't get it back.

  • How can I see birthdays in iCloud calendar on PC

    Hello
I recently have been converting over to iCloud for my contacts and calendar and using Outlook on PC.
I understand the online version of iCloud calendar can include a 'birthdays' calendar which sources the data from iCloud contacts.
However when viewed on a PC there is no such calendar that I can see. Is there any way that I can get a birthdays calendar on PC without having to create one manually. Ultimately I would like to enter a birthday on my iPhone and have it appear on a calendar in outlook. Is this possible with outlook client?
    Thanks

The data isn't actually stored in iTunes.  iTunes is like a card catalog that allows you to access information from the various places that it's stored on the computer.  SMS and contact info will be viewable in whatever program you sync contact information.  The backup actually keeps the files, but doesn't make them viewable, I'm pretty sure.  You can only see the info you've actually synced.

  • How can I combine multiple icloud calendars into a single published calendar?

I have several calendars in Ical where I map my activities and schedules. Like many I need several calendars to categorise events.
Now, I'd like others to see when I'm free and when I'm unavailable. For this, I'd need to find a way to copy multiple Icloud calendars into a single one for publishing - and the published calendar would also have to sync to any update I make in the original calendar.
Any way to make this happen? Any third party app? Tried a couple - they were outdated and / or cumbersome.
If only there was a "smart calendar" tool in Ical …

It worked - up to the crucial point: after combining icloud calendars into one "on the machine" calendar, the latter is ready for going public. But of course - this public calendar will only contain the .ics files and will not sync for updates from the icloud calendars.
    And that's what I want.
If this problem is not possible to solve with the software available in the Mac - is there any known third party solution for this?
    (Apple: "smart calendars" please!)

  • Share iCloud calendar with Google Calendar

Ok, so I'v moved all my contacts, email and calendars to iCloud and everything is wonderfull.
I share a few calendars with my girlfriend and she is sharing her study calendar with me.
We have a shared calendar set up, where we enter when our son is in daycare and we have another shared calendar with things we do together.
    Now comes the tricky question:
How do we share our icloud calendar showing our sons day in the daycare, with our parents who don't have any Apple devices and only uses google calendar?
Reason for this is, we live in the same city, and sometimes they want to go and pick up our son. With a shared calendar like that, they would just be able to write a note in their synced google calendar saying that they are going to pick up our son, and we would see it in our synced icloud calendar.
Also, my girlfriend only have an old-school cellphone. She is now finnaly getting a smartphone through her work.
Only problem I see comming with this, is that her phone is not going to be an iPhone.
So how do we keep sharing all our icloud calendars with her on a windows phone 7.5?
Is the Apple ecosystem finaly getting so clamped up, that it won't allow users who happen to have frinds or family without i-products, to share their life with them?
As everything stands now, I'm getting the feeling that Apple demands me to buy Apple products to all my family and frinds, just so that we can still interact and plan our different lives through shared calendars on icloud.
    Can this really be right?
I hope I'm just missing something. Cause I really thought, that icloud would be this outstanding product which would make my cloud-life the easiest thing in the world. Instead, it really seems to be a step back, in the cloud evolution.

    Thanks for your answer..
it dosn't really solve my problem, since I'm not interested in only sharing a calender on the web.
My wish is to sync my calendar with friends and family that are not using icloud, and not using apple product at all.
For example: My girlfriend, how finaly is getting a smartphone, needs some way to add and edit our shared calendar, so that we can both enter and edit appointments.
Same goes for my parrents, that whants to be able to set appointments of when they want to pick up our son at the daycare.
All this is possible, and has been possible for ages with other online calendar systems, so why does apple take a step down the evolutionstaires by disabling such a great feature?
Though MobileMe was not perfect, it did infact make this possible as I remember, so why can't this be done in iCloud?
You can subscribe to CalDav on your i-device, but you can't share one with friends, in what world is that logic?

  • How to Share an iCloud Calendar as a web page viewable by public?

    Hi,
I need to give various (ie non apple) people access to some of my Calendars as a Web Page that they can view.
I can see that I can share a webcal: link but this is not what I want as I can't rely on other people having a Calendar app to use to Subscribe to this - I need to be able just send people a link to a Web Hosted Calendar.
It does not look like you can just share a web view of your iCloud Calendar to the public - which seems to me to be the nicest option so I guess it may involve syncing your iCloud Calendar with a Google account calendar and then sharing this Google Calendar publicly...
    Any ideas appreciated
    Gary

In order to do this you need to be able to upload your calendar to a CalDAV server: unfortunately these are thin on the ground. Apple rather assume that you are going to run your own server, but I can't imagine you want to get into that.
Box.net were claiming that they offered this service, but there were complaints that it didn't work. I don't know about any others - I can only suggest you try Googling for CalDAV servers.
Otherwise it's a matter of sharing the calendar publicly and people having to subscribe - they can do this in iCal on a Mac - I don't know about Outlook on a PC but I would have thought it was possible.

  • How can I use iCloud calendars for third party webapps?

Hi, I thought of having my calendar on a page, where I also type in my AppleID and then be able to read (and write) new calendar-entries.
Is that possible? If so, how?

iCloud calendars are just industry standard CalDAV calendars, so assuming you have the programming knowledge to use the CalDAV protocol you can read/write to iCloud calendars.
These links may point you in the right direction:

Apple also has a specific iCloud section of their Developer site, but you need to be a registered developer to access it:
