I have simple question rite moment. that is serverless tcp session possible between computer A to B...while computer A is connected through Proxy at port 8080 and only 8080 is open for connection, and B is connected through modem..................

If B is able to accept inbound connections (some providers block incoming requests) then it's possible - just open port 8080 at B and initiate connection from A to B:8080.

I read an article that mentioned video chat would be possible through Google Talk using OS 2.3.3 which I just downloaded, however I can't find a way to do it. Any suggestions would be great.

The Incredible hasnt been reported to be a supported device for Google Video Chat option but it has been known to still work but it seems to be unconsistant.. I use Tango on my Thunderbolt without issues...

Two way video chat possible with osmf?

We are looking to add a 2 way video chat to our chat system (web based) using flash. Would osmf be able to link the two live webcams together? If not, could someone suggest something?
Our chat's are currently written in Php using ajax. We're looking to create flash/swf version with video and trying to figure out what will reside between the two video connections?

OSMF doesn't currently have support for camera-based video (though Flash does). Would be good to add as a feature request though...

Is Video Chat Possible on old G4 iMac 800mhz running Tiger 10.4.11?

My sister has this iMac and wants to buy a webcam for it.
Will she be able to do (single only as it's Tiger) video chatting with iChat?
She has a high speed internet connection.
If it does work, will it work "decently?"

She would also need either a Firewire Cam or a USB 1.1 cam with Mac Drivers AND the iUSBCam utility.
The lowest spec machine is a G3/600Mgz so she has some room.
She will not be able to Host a 3 or 4 way Video Chat (And you are right she would suffer in joining one)

How to Create a java chat room

Hi,
I want to make a web based chat, possibly using Java, any idea how to do that. I have a website and want to add a multithreaded chat component to that. The way it should work is that a user logs-in and start chatting live with any one of the technical support person available, during this session no other user can chat with this tech. support person but can chat with any other person available. This means the same chat component is used by any number of users and all have there own sessions and can't see other users online. What's the best way to go for that. Any links that could help. Or any open source freeware components that I can customize to my needs. Thanks for any help

I would suggest you look into Sockets. You could have a client applet connect to a server applet running on the same machine through a socket (I'm pretty sure that's legal).

Windows 7 Update Error Code 800706f7

I am unable to update Windows 7 Home Premium on this machine. Apparently the problem started in Dec. 2014, but I noticed it recently, when I started getting the messages that my Windows copy was not genuine.
I have gone through all the suggestions posted on this forum and others. For example, I tried to install Hotfix and other update mentioned by Checkurtech. I don't have KB3004394or any other mentioned culprits.
I have run sfc/scannow, which says that there are some corrupted files, but the details don't show any.
Any suggestions from anybody?
I went to a Microsoft site, which showed free chat possibility, but nothing happened.
I also tried to install KB3024777, which did not work.
Help!

IChat v4. Communication Error

I purchased a macbook 3 days ago. i can use Text Chat on iChat no problem. I tried to invite a buddy for video chat and the screen says Starting Video Chat, but never connects, and then displays a message saying, "There was a communication error" Buddy did not respond. Also, the buddy has invited me, and the error message continues. I have tried several times with 4 different buddies, both via wireless and connect to router via ethernet cable. I have enabled various ports as suggested by other users, but still no video chat possible.

i went to the apple store and while it worked there, it did no work when i tried connecting a friend while in the store. the genius tried troubleshooting it, but no luck. he had given me a printout of ports that my Firewall of my router needed to allow. i made those changes, and tried connecting to a friend. after 2 attempts, success!! i tried with another friend, but no luck after 3 attempts, so we switched to Skype and this worked. hope this helps someone else.

Hello everyone, I am in serious need of advice/support (and not trying to denigrate apple in any way, so please do not censor my post). I am currently traveling in Cambodia for an extended period of time, in need of computer repair and have no means of directly reaching anyone from apple because there is no callback service to my location, even though I am a paying applecare subscriber. If anyone can help or provide suggestions, I would sincerely appreciate it!
Anyway, this is my story and I will *try* to keep it short, even though it' not an easy task . Basically, This is my 4th macbook, I've always been happy in the past and have found your computers reliable and worth the extra price, so you could say that I was a hardcore apple fan. Unfortunately, I now believe that the computer purchase I have purchased is a lemon. So if you'll bear with me for a couple of minutes, this is my sad computer's story which I post on the apple community, not knowing where else to post it and as I believe it contains important information for other travellers such as myself:
- I travel a lot, and tend to buy new computers with each travel as they get lighter. I am usually happy with them, so applecare seemed like a good and logical idea despite the price.
- Very early on, the USB port broke on the new computer, but the logic board was replaced quickly and at no charge.OK, it happens!
- A weeks later, the delete key was not working properly, so the logic board was replaced again (???) and keyboard as well. This repair took longer and I had to borrow a friend's computer, but OK, I was confident it would not happen again.
- I then travelled for a month and the cruellest things possible happened: my hard drive died, making it impossible to finish some of the work I was doing. Luckily, I had backed up most of my data, but still lost a lot of information, work and time. Back home, the apples store replaced the drive after a couple of days, so I was pretty much back to square one. My enthusiasm had gone down, but I was still confident that this was the right computer for me and willing to take it with me to Asia. I figured I had been through enough bad luck anyway!
- So that's the background which occurred in the few months before I started to traveland I now come the current traveling. During my flight from China to Phnom Pehn, the screen on my computer cracked after going an airport security check. I am not 100% sure what happened as I was going through the screening process, and I am the first to admit that it is hard to blame apple for a screen that mysteriously broke, but still it seems extremely odd (and even dangerous) that a screen would break (about 80% of the surface is cracked) even if a bag was placed over the laptop and even if it contained bricks.. I also know from looking at the x-raymachine to check on the computer that it was NOT dropped. Some pressure does seem to have been applied to it though, but I till find it hard to believe that this would have cracked the screen. Anyway, I am not a professional so I will stop making theories,but how does one prove any such thing when no one is there to help or answer questions?
I should mention that I am aways super careful, carry the computer it in a separate case and never cram in between a bunch of stuff. Anyway, without trying to be a bore, this is not my first plane ride but this is my first serious screen problem issue which leads me to believe that the screen was previously flawed.
- Once I finally got to Asia, I was naturally shocked to see the problem and wanted to address the issue. Apparently however, Cambodia is not listed in the applecare page so there is no direct way to contact anyone from Apple here, something I was not told at time of purchase. After online searches, I discovered some far away obscure shops ran by uncaring people in areas you kind of have to find yourself without knowing if Apple will void your warranty or not. Not sure what to do, I decided to go to one of those 'authorized' addresses which I found on line (and spent one ENTIRE day looking for a shop). I got there, was told it was the wrong shop and to go further down the same street. Ok. Go further, find store with same name and am told the exact same think by giggling employees. I smile and try to remain calm, it is Cambodia afer all, different rules,
Finally reach third store, guy opens computer up (without powering it on to see of it works or not--it does), says 'not our problem since glass is broken and not covered by apple'. Then adding, "Deal with apple if not happy. They will give you a service number and we can fix for free. Well, this pretty much summed up our conversations . Basically, this was a repair store where talking was not a possibility, regardless of the problem.
For anyone who has been to Phnom Pehn, I should mention that this occurred after several hours of online searches, motorbike bargaining/driving/praying getting lost and lots of honking. Once again, this is not apple store, but I'm merely pointing out the difference between finding mysterious places with no support and going into an aircon applestore. I then asked the pleasant man at the store how much it would cost f I paid out of pocket for the fix as I need my computer for work and can not spend weeks trying to resolve this issues. He said 570$ if I wanted to kept the broken screen glass (!!!) and about 400$ if I did not. These numbers seemed to be estimates and simply pop out of his head and I am still trying to figure that one out. Does apple reuse glass parts when fixing computer? What exactly does one do with over 100$ of broken glass? Please excuse de digression.
- trying not to despair, I later literally spent hours trying to deal with apple care, but their site offers no direct email, chat possibility or ayway to return calls to Cambodia.Very frustrating and extremely time-consuming.
- As a last resort, I finallly decided to just throw money out the window and run and call Canada service directly which I should have done in the first place (this is where I bought the computer originally). I was transferred to several places, and ended up talking with super friendly guy named Andrew who gave me another possble Cambodian address where it may be possible to address the issue. It was also hard to find and we got lost several times, but eventually found it.
Unfortunately, the place turned out to be worse than the original one and the guy did not want to bother looking at the problem or any possible cause. Basically, unlike in an apple store, Cambodian employees can say whatever they want when its time to sell a product, but if it breaks down or if you need support, tough luck! The most incredible part though was that when I mentioned that the caps lock key did not light up and that the mousepad was not responding as well as before, iso could he please examine those parts, he added once more that this was not his problem and that I should call apple for a repair number!!! So basically, if I understand correctly, Apple (and AppleCare) will not fix either the top part of a computer screen (glass and screen) NOR the keyboard which is a one piece unit. This leads me to the purpose of the overly long message which is: WHAT EXACTLY IS APPLE CARE FOR? It is just for talking to people on the phone or do the actually do anything?
As a last alternative, I tried calling Andrew from Canada for advice again, but did not get a call back (in fairness, Andrew had informed me that they are not allowed to make international calls and that all his calls for directly to voice mail, so how does one handle such a situation? I cannot reach him and he will not call me).
What do I do? Who do I call? How do I not void the warranty? Should I just demand an applecare refund and toss the computer I have?

im afraid i dont know about the second two questions
but concerning the country of residence:
they urge you to buy the plan from your country of residence as they say that by doing this you can get the full experience of the plan, (meaning there will be things you cannot do with the plan if you buy it from a different country) however you can if you want buy it from any country you like and youll be able to cover the computer...after all is does include global coverage. To be honest i would recommend you just buy it in your country of residence, i think youll find this will make things much easier if there may be anything wrong with the computer in the future...

Creating an IM system - best scenario?

We are planning on adding an Instant Messaging feature to an application used by two kind of users : customers and agents.
The goal is to allow text/audio/video chat (possibly with the three options simultaneously but most likely with either text or audio+video) with the following use cases:
Agent (1 or 2) <-> Customer (one-one or two-one)
Agent <-> Agent (multiple users)
Multiple opened chat session for a given user (mutiple windows similar to gmail)
We also need to display a list of users (both online and offline + capabilities (mic,webcam)) -> should we leverage some kind of main room for this as well?
So far we have identified three possible scenarios to achieve this:
One Room per chat/conversion : the user would need to create a new room from a template and send the url to other recipients (through a global message bus, maybe a global/general room). This also implies having multiple session opened as a user can have multiple one-one conversations
Create only one room and use groupNames to manage the privacy of a conversation but that seems to create one collectionNode per groupName and I’m not sure how that will scale on the long run.
The last option would be to send everything to a single collectionNode (like in the simpleChatModel) and simply rely on the recipiendIDs to manage the privacy but that seems a bit overcomplicated to manage a conversation with multiple users as we would first need to share the list of members for a given chat.
Would you guys have ideas or recommendations around this or maybe an Instant Messaging exemple?

Hi Nicolas,
I think there are 2 aspects to what you're planning :
1) A lobby system with buddy-style presence for "rendez-vous" to the private
conversations
2) Private rooms that are used for the actual conversations
For 1), you'll want to use UserManager.anonymousPresence - this means that
not every person logged into the lobby will be able to see each other;
rather, only people who have broadcast their presence to the room on purpose
(so that everyone can see them) or with pre-defined relationships (such as
from a buddy list) will be seen. Anonymous presence greatly increases the
scale of our rooms into the thousands of connections. Secondly, you can use
UserManager.myBuddyList for each user who is connecting - assign a list of
userIDs that the current user should notify when he arrives.
For 2), when a private conversation needs to happen, have the initiator
request a new room from your server. Your server can validate the request,
and use the server integration libraries to create a new LCCS room, and
return the URL to the initiator. From there, the initiator can privately
message the URL to the person they're inviting (within some node in the
lobby room through which messages with recipientIDs can be used).
I think it's fine to have multiple sessions open at once from the client
(for example, the client would likely stay connected to the lobby the whole
time so that presence is reflected). So I definitely recommend the first
option you presented, with the addition of a general lobby room for generic
presence and rendez-vous. In this way you get the benefits of a centralized
presence system with the scale of private chats happening within their own
rooms.
This is definitely an area we on the product team are looking to document
further - we've rather quietly added the UserManager functionality above,
and have been planning out sample lobby systems to share. We're heads-down
in a release that's coming out very soon , but once that's done, we'll
start to get some more samples together on this topic.

Notification on skpe in iphone 6 does not display when there is incoming messages

The user has a iphone6 and installed the latest Skype. However, when there is incoming messages, the badge(red counter) does not display in the icon.I have tried everything i could, background refresh, uninstall and reinstall,, check the settings and reboot the iphone a few times etc...but the notification badge simply will not show.Can anyone advise a remedy to this?Very much appreciated.

I used Iphone 5 till yesterday with IOS 7.2 and older version of Skype and no issues at all . I could see group chats and every single chat possible on my phone as on my laptop Now i have an Iphone 6 and the newest software and the skype application I CAN ONLY SEE PEOPLE but not group chats on my phone . A Mac Mini s a computer you can use with the iPad.
YO do not need a computer fro backup since yo can backup to iCloud.
However, sometimes software glitches occur and require connecting the device to a compute to restore vi iTuunes.
You can control a computer via an iPod with an app like TeamViewer or LogMeIn. There are others too.
You can also use an iPad a a SECONDAY monitor for a computer. with other apps.
You need a dedicated monitor, keyboard and mouse to setup the Mini. You can use a PC USB mouse and keyboard.

Is it possible to split audio separate while playing a game and chat

While listening music and in the meantime play a game or have a chat session, I find it disturbing that the audio from the game or chat session runs at the same time as the audio from the music. Ik makes me nervous. Is it possible to use 2 different audio, or stop the audio from the game and keep listening to the music.
Or stop the game audio during the chat session?
Somebody can tell me if it is possible?

Videochat not possible this computer does not support video chats

Hi there, since yesterday its not possible to to start an video chat. It's grey. In the preference of "mesage" under the tap "video" shows the message "this computer does not support video chats. There is no problem with the camera, i can use facetime video and skype video.
Who can help me?

After searching the support communities i found this and it worked!!!
Try:
Quit iChat.
Open Terminal (it's in the Utilities folder, in the Applications folder).
In Terminal type or paste this command on a single line:
defaults write com.apple.iChat newbwdup 300000
Press Return.
Quit Terminal.
Open iChat.
Worked for me!!!
