Free Skype Calling on The iPhone?

I'm wondering since Skype is an online application and therefore uses internet resources, if I can make calls through Skype for free?
I wouldn't think this to be a problem since Skype is easily available online and the iPhone has Safari. Then i'm assuming I'd be able to make a call through Skype thanks to the fact the iPhone has a microphone.
I've been watching videos on YouTube of people doing this through some site called "SoonR".
I would think this all does not break any rules while using the iPhone, I don't want to break any rules here.
But I see this as a great thing to do: making skype calls to landlines and mobiles through my Skype account.
Obviously this makes me ask the only question I need to ask: Would making Skype calls through my iPhone use my ATT minutes?
*I'd assume not since I'm using Skype through my Safari Internet.

SOONR actually calls you back on your IPHONE to complete the call, therefore your are using yor minutes. I use SOONR for international calls - then I only get "charged" as local minutes

This might be a dumb question, but I recently installed the AT&T myWireless app on my phone, and it says that i have already used 50mb of my 200mb of data in just 4 days, and most of the time that i am doing heavy internet activity is over wifi. Unless i am underestimating how much data I use over 3g...is wifi free?

Push not only uses data, it use battery as well. Remember, when the iphone goes into sleep mode, WiFi is turned off to save battery, & the iphone will use the cellular data network for its data needs. To conserve your data usage, turn off eMail Push & Fetch, close ALL Safari windows when finished using Safari, minimise the use of apps which utilize unattended data e.g. RSS Feeds, etc...

I just bought the iPhone 4s and it went through all of the steps for setting up iCloud and i have done that. But I am just wondering if it is only a free trial and if I'll be charged for it at some point on my bill?

iCloud is free and customers are provided with 5 GB of cloud storage. If your require more space, you can upgrade to a larger (paid) storage plan for your iCloud account.

What iPhone will be free when the iPhone 6 comes out?

Right now, the iPhone 4s is "free" meaning the price of the phone it's self is $0, but you have to get a data plan along with that. I am interested in getting an iPhone so I was wondering if I should wait, because will the phone that is "free" change to the iPhone 5 or 5c when the iPhone 6 does out? Or will it still be the 4s? This is a user to user forum. no one here can possibly know what iPhone model will be free if any with a plan after the nest iPhone model is announced. That is something between Apple and the carriers.

Want to give the iphone to my wife... several questions

I bought an iphone about a month ago, just to test it out. My wife has a Sprint phone that she hates, and so I want to give her the iphone, but I have a few questions:
-Can I transfer her cell number to this phone? The phone number on the iphone is not one we are concerned with keeping for any of our other phones.
-If I can, I'd like to keep the billing info under my name, as it is now. Can I?
-I want her to be able to use her computer as the sole docking station. Up until now, it is docking only to my computer. Possible? I know that all info on the iphone presently will go away (contacts, etc).

Sure but this will require contacting AT&T customer service prior to canceling your Wife's Sprint account. AT&T will handle the porting of your Wife's Sprint phone number to this iPhone while canceling your existing AT&T number. Do not contact Sprint to cancel your Wife's account - AT&T will handle the entire number porting process which will cancel your Wife's Sprint account automatically.

OK, so your old iTunes library was on your PC and now the library is on your Mac? Do I have that right? Your iPhone and iPad were auto syncing to the PC and now you connect them to your Mac and it wants to clear out the media?
This is important, do you have in your iTunes library on your new Mac, the media you want now? Or are you trying to move your media by copying what is on the iPhone/iPad to your iTunes?

If somebody send me a sms, sometimes I reach the massage but sometimes the sms comes to the iPhone of my wife with an other provider!

After updated our iPhones 4 to iOS 6 the other iPhone with an other provider reaches sms send to me as well. On the other hand, if I send a sms to a third party it appears on the other iPhone - it runs me gracy!

ITunes reporting wrong free space on iPhone 4S

On Friday, I signed up for iTunes Match. Let it do it's thing, and on Saturday afternoon, it completed. I went through and removed all the old m4p files I could, replaced with m4a, and downloaded 256k aac replacements for old files in my library for artists A-C last night. That all went good on my computer.
However, when I went to sync my phone last night, my space available is being reported incorrectly by iTunes (10.51 on Win7). It initially told me I was over usage, which was a lie. When I started this, it was roughly 5.5Gb free or so (forget exact space at the moment). When I went to sync, iTunes instantly jumped to over. I manually removed a few playlists to bring the reporting under, but it still has the problem.
As of right now, iTunes is saying there is 1.32Gb free on the iPhone. The phone itself is reporting 5.1Gb free, which is about what it should be.
I switched my iPad over to using iTunes Match, and it's usage is the same (although I haven't synced it yet). But I didn't want to do this on the phone until I resolved this reporting problem. Things i've tried already:
1) Unchecking, then checking again the "Open iTunes when this iPhone is connected". I read around these forums, and found from some people that helps. It didn't for me.
2) Restore on the iPhone. Didn't work.
3) Unchecking sync music, sync the phone to remove it all, then recheck, and resync to put the music back. No difference. Same misreported space.
4) Swearing at it.

Interesting. I just now plugged the phone in again after ejecting it, and..
It initially showed the proper 5.1Gb free that the phone itself is reporting. But about two seconds after that, it jumped up to the incorrect 1.32Gb free.
The sync finished, and it went back down to the proper 5.1Gb free. I have no bloody idea what the deal here is. Something bizarre happened, and then it just as equally weirdly went away.

Skype Number associated with iPhone

Hello Skype Community!
I am not all that technical and have been tasked to find out the following, any help or advice with this will be greatly appreciated!
Our company iPhone has a Skype number linked to it. When the Skype number is dialled, the iphone rings, which is what we want. This iPhone is being returned to factory settings as we need to remove all apple ID's from this device, which were set up by staff who have left.
I need to know the following:
a) if we return the iPhone to factory settings, will the link between the Skype number and the iPhone be lost?
b) if this does happen, how do we re-activate the link between our Skype number and the iPhone
c) how do I communicate with Skype to confirm this number is allocated to our comapny and will remain allocated and registered to our company indefinitely.

You can do this. She will need to get a new SIM card (they are free) for the iPhone 5 and activate it on her number, but it's entirely doable.

I have had two Android phones. And while my experience with them has not been terrible, it has left something to be desired. So when my contract is up in early December I am seriously thinking of going with the Iphone 5 ( or whatever it will ultimately be called ). My question to the Iphone users is what can I expect? I have never owned ANYTHING Apple. Am I in for a long transition period? Are Iphones so vastly different from Androids that it will take a lot of getting used to?

I just switched from Android to iPhone 4s and absolutely love it. It is a personal thing to choose, but I had Android phones that were ruined by "updates", Droid X, then the HTC Inc. 2. So I went with the iPhone as my wife has one and I got to play with before I switched. I like the fact that I can deal with Apple directly and not Verizon or the mfg. I was able to put Apple Care on my phone for $99 thus dropping Verizons costly insurance, granted it does not cover lost or stolen but the breakage replacements are significantly cheaper $49. Anyways as I said its a personal choice but one I'm glad I made.

I want get an iPhone but i don't need to use it as a phone right now because I still have a few months left on the contract wit t-mobile. I just want to get the iPhone and use the ipod and safari feature on it. Does anyone know if that is possible or do I need a AT&T to get it activated?

You are completely unable to use any of the iPhone features (including WiFi, Edge, Safari, iPod, etc) until you've activated the phone with AT&T
