I'm a bit confused with this paragraph, as you said Vista already install on your computer, why did you say Windows can't be installed?
According to your description with your problem, it is Product edition and key are not match. Firstly of all, we must make sure the system you installed on your computer was
Windows Vista Business, not matter 32 or 64 bit.
Note: you can check current system edtion at System Properties.
After that, you can try to input your product key and activate your system for test.
If problem still presists, it would be better to provide the activation error message.

And when using Time-Maschine for the back-up select the Time-Capsule (whatever name your has) as the place to store the date.

My S10e (4187-5LG, January 2009) came with a Li Shin power adapter ... And a WD hard drive, a Sanyo battery + internal components from lots of other manufacturers! The Lenovo warranty on the whole package (except the battery) is 2-4 times better than the minimum requirements in Denmark. That is what makes the difference for me.
By the way: The power adapter for my IBM L40SX (~1991) portable computer is "made in Japan" OEM with an IBM sticker on it.

I want to install Lion on my 1st gen Air, with 2GB RAM. With Snow Leo, sometimes i have to quit Safari because of the RAM is running low.
So i don't want to upgrade if Lion eats more RAM than Snow Leo.
Can anyone confirm that is it worth to install Lion on a laptop with 2GB RAM?

I have a late 2007 2.0GHz Macbook with 4GB of RAM. Snow Leopard ran beautifully on it ( I am a web developer and video editor ).
I clean installed Lion last week and it is very sluggish. It'll often hang and 'spinning beach ball' when doing the simplest tasks such as trying to scroll through a web page, switch applications, open a print dialogue box, etc.
The new UI, animations, and some of the new features of Lion are nice, but I'm considering switching back to Snow Leopard. As a power user on an "older" machine, Lion just doesn't cut it. Depending on what you use your laptop, you might have a fantastic experience with Lion. It certainly takes more video memory, so it's likely newer machines won't struggle with it at all. my concern is that the simple elements of the OS have problems running on my machine, meaning one of two things: 1) Lion is built to run well on newer machines with newer hardware or 2) Lion is built poorly. It seems more likely the former is true. in either case, if you have a "base" machine like Macbook or Mac Mini 2008 or older i'd say stick with SL. otherwise upgrade to your heart's content.

How can I force Time Machine to use existing backup sparsebundle files?

I backed up both my OSX Mountain Lion MBP and MacOSX Snow Leopard iMac to the same USB Disk. I then plugged this USB Disk into my Time Capsule, and configured Time Machine in both macs to use it through the network. But Time Machine insists on creating new backup sparsebundle files, ignoring the existing ones. How can I force Time Machine to use the existing backups.backupdb sparsebundle files instead of creating new ones?

You can't. Time Machine works differently over a network than it does with a locally-attached drive. What you could do is delete the folder named "Backups.backupdb" at the top level of the volume, which contains the backups you made via USB. You should then be able to backup to the same sparsebundle locally and over the network. But I wouldn't recommend doing that. Certainly don't do it unless you have at least one other complete backup (which you should have anyway.)

Hello! By default, Photoshop CS6 cannot open the NEF from a D800, you need to have at least Camera Raw 7.1, as explained in this document: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
Go to the Help menu, and select "updates" and you'll launch the Adobe Updater that should suggest to install Camera Raw 7.2 that supports the D800, and many other cameras.

Can anyone confirm that "upload to ftp host" with "only modified files" works as designed?

It seems to take a really long time to verify existing files on the host. I have found it more productive to ignore this function and use a dedicated ftp client to upload/update Muse-created sites.

I have found that "upload to FTP host" often uploads the entire site, seemingly ignoring the "only modified files" setting. This is not invariably the case, but seems to happen more than it should.

Could somebody please confirm that this is fixed in FCP6 ?

This bug was reported by me to Apple in Dec, 2006. It is exists in FCP 5.1.2-5.1.4. These are steps to reproduce:
I start thinking that I found a serious BUG in FCP.
Did more testing and found what is going on -- still do not know why. Aparently FCP uses Non Drop Frame method for setting the Media Start when you exporting subclips.
Simple Test:
1. Create a brand new project
2. Import clip (IMPORTANT: DV NTSC 29.97 Frame Rate)
3. Make sure that the Reel is not empty (Item Properties - Capture). If it is, put some text there
4. Open your clip in the Viewer.
5. Set In and Out points (IMPORTANT: In Point should be at least at 00:02:00;02 TC)
6. Make a subclip (Cmd-U)
7. Export it
8. Import it back and compare Media Start for Exported file and Subclip
For me they are different:
Subclip: 00:02:00;02
Exported clip: 00:01:00;58
Exactly 4 frames difference which makes me think that FCP used Non Drop Frame method to set a Media Start for exported file.
If you set your In point before the 00:02:00;02 it works correct -- Media Start for Subclip and Exported file is the same.
Could someone please test it in FCP6 and check was it fixed or not ?

I recently updated my Iphone 3GS to IOS 4.0 BUT I never updated my wife's Iphone 3GS, her phone is still running 3.1.3
I did a little experiment and I think that the Iphone 4's reception problem is Software related. My 3GS does the same exact thing the Iphone 4 is doing, yet my wife's 3GS running 3.1.3 is not. Please watch the video I made to better understand.

No sir, it was a thread I started concerning some basic testing, etc. The discussion was going along well I thought with nothing blatantly wrong. For those that were following it, I found this in the PTCRB cert. database. Looks like the baseband FW was certified back on June 7th and would seem to fit that this will possibly affect the older units as well. Also see second link which mentions 64GB model that may be in pipeline. Good luck to this thread as it will probably be deleted shortly too.

How can we use Time Capsule as a server to access files from remote locations?

I use Timecapsule to save my data but I would like to use it as a server to access my file when I'm not at home. Is it possible?

There is another method that you can use, but it would require the following:
1) A static or fixed Internet connection IP address from your Internet Service Provider
2) The Time Capsule, or another Apple router must be the main router for the network

Is there a product of plugin I can get that will allow me to open Mac-Quark files in PC_InDesign 5.5

I need to open another designer's files. She owrks on a Mac in QuarkXpress. I work on a pc and use Indesign. Is there any way to open the files? Everytihng I find on my own requires that I also have Quark on my system, and I do not have it. also, I am not sure what version of Quark she worked in.

Thanks, Peter. I did try opening the files already, but it did not work. When I sought help from Adobe, the tutorials suggested that I had to have Quark on my system. I think that the files must be a different version than 3 or 4.

I am using DVD Studio Pro and every time I try to burn a sd dvd it is telling me my bit rate is to high. I am using the factory settings for sd 16:9. Why will it not burn my dvd?

DVD SP will compress the video if you have not already. However, it is usually better for you to make use of Compressor and compress the video yourself. That being said, the usual reason for the bitrate being too high error is that the audio is causing it. In Compressor you need to also compress your audio to a AC3 file. Start with the Dolby 2.0 preset and make the following changes;
Change the Dialog Normalization to -31 dBFS, and under the Preprocessing tab, change to Compression Preset to None.
