Is sound check still in effect if songs are downloaded to a non-ipod device?

If Sound Check and/or Volume Adjusment (under "Get Info) are engaged in the itunes library, and then the songs are downloaded to a non-ipod device (flash drive) are those adjustments still in effect?  Same question if songs are downloaded to an ipod.

Hmmm...
OK - a better question for me is how does Sound Check work?
Lets say I have only 2 songs in my entire iPod music library. One song has maximum volume @ 0dB and the other song only hits -6dB. When Sound Check is enabled, does the loud song get pulled down to -6dB or the -6dB up to 0dB or some average?
Because when it is selected on my iPod - the volume goes down at least 3dB. Now do I have to somehow find those guilty songs that are pulling all the other tunes down with it?
Thanks,
Scott

I have a song that didnt completly download, but when I checked for available downloads it says all songs are downloaded. When I close Itunes and reopen it still dosent complete the download what should I do

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting that track from your iTunes library (if it's still in there then iTunes won't let you re-download it) and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

Since all of your music came from your computer in the first place, then it should still be there and should be included in your backup copy of your computer.
" it told me when i pluged hers in 2 ipods could not use the same account"
This is not true.  You have misunderstood.
You can sync as many ipods/iphones/ipads as you like to one one library.

Do you have the right boxes checked to sync the music to your iPod?
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod
Do they play in iTunes on the computer?
Have you successfully synced music form this iTunes library/computer before?

Does any media sync to the iPod?

Try syncing using the manual method
Do you have any Restrictions (Settings>General>Restrictions) set that would prevent syncing those songs? (iTunes purchases only)

that is odd! that should not be happening.
Are you syncing your songs right off of itunes itself? because it should be syncing over to the ipod however it is listed in itunes.

  • HT4914 How can you tell which songs are downloaded from the cloud on an ipad

How can you tell which songs are downloaded on the iPad from the cloud?

I know ipad albums are more like tagging photos rather than putting them in folders. I just have a nagging feeling I missed some pics and I have too many to try to go figure out one by one. I don't look at my photos from the camera roll, only from albums I tagged just because I imported photos from different sources and the dates and order is really messed up. I just want to know that I am viewing all the photos from like this vacation or that event and there's none I missed that are only in the camera roll.

  • Only partial songs are downloaded from Itunes Match

Only partial songs are downloaded from Itunes Match, they stop and go on to the next song.  Any ideas?

I too had this issue. On the Downloads screen in iTunes simply uncheck the box at the bottom left that says "Allow simultaneous downloads". Next, delete any of the affected songs from your library and then re-download them from iCloud and songs should no longer abruptly cutoff or jump to the next song.

  • Some songs are distorted after transferring to iPod....

I have a unique problem, some songs are distorted and occasionally sound like they are skipping when I transfer them to the iPod, yet if I play the files on my computer in iTunes, they play fine. Any suggestions as to what might cause this?

OK, so I went back and listened again to the tracks in iTunes, and it turns out that for some reason even though I thought I checked the "use error correction" box on my home computer's iTunes, error correction wasn't turned on after all. I noticed because I did hear the distortion on the playback of one song when played from iTunes. I am in the process of re-importing a couple of cd's with error correction turned on, and I am pretty sure this is the problem. I re-imported the one song I noticed it on originally and it got rid of it. I listened to one of the cd's back this morning in iTunes and didn't notice the distortion, but apparently it was there and I just missed it. So, chalk this one up to user error/self pwnt, haha!

  • All my songs are greyed out on my iPod except for the songs in my itunes library

I have over 10,000 songs on my ipod touch and when I connect to my Macbook Pro and go to itunes it states that there are over 10,000 songs on my ipod, but when I click to play them a little exclamation mark appears before it. (As it does when the source cannot be found.) At the bottom of itunes it still shows a large blue Audio bar stating that I have over 10,000 songs on it somewhere, but I cannot play them. When disconnecting from Itunes the artists and albums are all showing, but as soon as I go into an album all the songs are greyed out. This only just happened yesterday when adding a few extra songs I downloaded to my itunes and dragged and dropped them to my ipod.
Please help me, the data should be on the ipod somewhere, but for some reason I cannot reach it. I do not have a backup, so this is really annoying
    Thanks for any help

    Try:
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities
The grey-out ones may not be recoverable.
You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • HT204406 Started iTunes Match and the songs are individually available but none of my playlists are on my apple tv yet looking at the playlists from my iTunes on my mac there looks to me no issues

Started iTunes Match and the songs are individually available  on my apple TV, and there is a tab for playlists. Yet the only playlists available are the Preset itunes generated 4: 90's music, Classical Music videos, and Recently Added. Yet even the recently Added playlist does not contain my most recelty added music purchased form iTunes and shows that is in the Cloud. None of my other playlists are on my apple tv yet looking at the playlists from my iTunes on my mac, there looks to be no issues relating to them and the cloud. Even tried making a new playlist. It made no difference. It would be nice to figure out how to have my music available on my TV without having to open up my computer everytime. Yes I know I can use my cell phone but, I'd like to put my photos to music and to set that up I need the Itunes Match playlists to WORK

Hi I had exactly the same problem, I don't know if you setup your Apple TV before you subscribed to iTunes I match? If you did then I did the same and although all my songs showed up on my Apple TV none of my playlist did.
This is how I fixed it I went into settings on the Apple TV menu and reset the device back to factory default, I then setup the unit again adding in my iTunes username and password etc, ticked the bix that says turn on I match and then went into music
It took a few moments but it said updating once this finished I checked playlists and all my playlists as per my desktop PC were showing up!
I hope this Helios resolve your problem too :)

  • My mac air does not have enough memory to hold all the music I want. Can I delete songs from my library before downloading new ones and still have the old songs there when I sync my iPod?

I have a macbook air with 60GB memory. For work, I have used up all the memory and constantly use the files, so transfering them to a different location is not a possibilty now. I have about 5GB of music on it, but would like to transfer more on my iPod classic. I would like to know wether there is a possibility for me to delete old music, get new music into its place and then sync the iPod without losing the old music from it.
    Hope I was clear enough.

  • Songs are light grey-Wont transfer to devices

I have numerous songs in my library that have their titles as light gray instead of dark black. These songs will play in itunes on my Mac but will not transfer to any devices. Anybody know a solution? Thanks.

I'm experiencing the same problem. I've been trying to sync new songs and movies from my iTunes to my iPhone but it doesn't seem to be working as it just states that the things have been synced, but i dont find it in my iPhone. and when i click on my device in the iTunes and check what is in my device, the files that i have just transferred are stated except that they're in light grey with a dotted circle next to it. Does anyone know how to resolve this?? Thanks.
