Is spec type customization possible?

Between PLM4P's customization and extensibility capabilities, I know it can do a lot but this is probably a stretch.
Is it possible to take a specification type, such as Material, and base a new "type" off of it? Where the Material spec type would remain the same, and the new derived spec type would retain all of the same functionality for Material specs, but have its own name, icon, etc.? This would be similar to Agile 9's subclassing.
Failing that, is there any way to make visual changes based upon a value in a specification? For example, if I open a material spec with a classification of ABC, the icon in the object header is the normal material spec icon; but if the classification is XYZ, then it would display a different icon in the object header.

F-02 with asset retirement: Trans. type not possible - No affil. company

Hello Gurus,
I am struggling with the following, I hope you can help me:
We want to sell an investment using a trading partner. When entering the asset retirement transaction type 230, I get error message AA 389 Trans. type not possible (No affiliated company specified). I however enter the trading partner through 'More data' but when coming back to the asset retirement, T. type 210 is written and changing it to 230 gives me the error.
I am using document type DR for which the flags 'enter trading partner' and 'Inter co. postings' are set. I tried without the flag 'Inter co. postings', no success.
I have tried with Trans. type 210 and changing the line item after simulation, no success as well.
The target document is:

Hello Alex,
Try F-92, on the screen for creating the revenue line item, i.e. the credit side, you must activate the indicator "asset retirement." > Next, press 'Enter' key, after which the screen 'Create Asset Retirement' appears and in this dialog box screen enter the appropriate 'Transacion Type' instead.

I am trying to transfer an asset under construction to following asset class: 'low value assets' with ABUMN
It get the error message: 'Transaction type not possible (no affiliated company specified)'.
I could go to AO76 to mark the 'post to affiliated company'.
How can I check which transaction type it uses? With the transactio type group? Or something else...?

actually, the problem lies with the transfer of assets under construction to low value assets with are happening in the CURRENT year, and not the previous year. AuC to LVA transfers from previous years are allowed, but not the one in the current year. Because it uses a different transfer transaction type... The transfer variant 4 (= transfer within company code) is the correct one I assume.

This isn't fully supported because your changes will be lost when you upgrade etc. But you can control which options are available in global succession by editing the web.config file in your Reg app. You can remove the spec type specific <SuccessionSpecType> nodes inside <SpecTypeMappings>.
For example, to turn off Material Specs remove the <SuccessionSpecType type="1004" ...> block

Every column having datatype bigint is converted to a Number(10,0) column.
Is it possible to customize this convertion cause i would like to have a Number(19,0) column ?

OER - Identical asset names in different asset types not possible

We are creating a service repository in the OER. The repository contains a logical level and a physical level, with logical service entities and physical service entities. We first defined a metamodel and implemented the objects in the metamodel as asset types in the OER.
Now we encounter the problem that it is not possible that assets in differet asset types have the same name and version. Why is that? Shouldn't it be possible to have a logical and physical service with the same name? Is there a way to make this possible, to adjust the constraints in the OER for example?

Is this customization possible?

I'm new to XML/XSL so I'm not sure if this is even possible. Our company's default web page header is a combination of javascripts and graphics files. How can I customize it so that every page displays this header instead of all the buttons and oracle logo? I know of being able to simply change the default logo but this isn't enough for my situation.

Functionality spec - is this possible to achieve?

I have a request from a client for an app that requires certain functionality I am unsure is possible. I am happy to learn how to do it if it is possible but just wanted to get a yay or a nay as to whether this should be possible to implement.
App is for iPad only.
The app is to be used by Health & Safety inspectors and needs to generate and email a report (ideally in pdf format) to a designated recipient.
The app will consist primarily of a form where each form field requires the inspector to enter a value
The inspector can include a photo associated with any of the form fields (the photo can be taken using the iPad camera or one chosen from the photo library on the iPad.
Once the form has been completed clicking on a Submit button will send the data to an external server and the server will deal with creating the pdf and emailing it.
I have created PDF files on the fly before using PHP so I know that in theory this is possible but I just need to get some reassurance that I will be able to implement the entire process described above.
I am not looking for a ready made solution - just really some reassurance this is technically possible without too many headaches. If you can spot any problematic elements please let me know.

If you think about a worse case, an inspector might have lined up ten 8 megapixel images, and that final post could take quite a while. Could you design the form as a series of pages, where at the end of each entry you post that page's worth of data?
Doing it that way would mean you could call one PHP script that cues up the many pages to make the PDF, then on the last screen you call a different PHP that combines the previously uploaded images, and sends them as a PDF to the specified email address.
I don't think it would be easy to make that final PDF have editable text, it would just be a series of images.
As for the creating and sending of the image, you can image a movieclip that is a template of the page in question. When the form is filled in you do a draw() of the movieclip to create the bitmap you need to submit, and then you call the PHP with the bitmap data.
Here's a function from something I made recently, that is able to send a bitmapdata as a png or jpg to various PHPs:

The gettimer parts are just to make sure the PHP URL is not still cached, and the various PHPs are used to either send the image to a playback AIR app, to a print server, or to email to someone.

You can check them with tcode OMJJ in 'Reversal / follow-on movements types' or in view (you can use tcode SM30) V_156N_VC.
In my system I can see movs. 701 to 718.

Scale Types in condition types customization?

In spro in "define condition types" in MM we have to assign the type of Scale whether FROM ,TO, NOT USED, INTERVAL etc.. to PBDD, AMO2 etc. Between Scale types i.e. FROM (BASE) Scale and TO Scale what are the differences? What is the concept behind these types of scales?

"Data Alert" type subscription possible?

I have a SSRS report running in SP 2010 that pulls and summarizes information from an Oracle database. My users are interested in seeing the report only if it meets a certain threshold. I have set up a Data Alert, which will alert them when
individual lines meet the criteria, but they want to see the entire report like a subscription does.
I understand that there is a link to the report at the bottom of a data alert, but often users are getting these emails on phones / remote devices where access to our intranet is not possible. Also, alerts lack the nice formatting possible in the report.
Is it possible to set up a subscription to a report that behaves like a data alert? Only emailing the report out when certain criteria is met?

Maximum Number of Components per BOM(Per procurement type,if possible)

Dear Colleagues,
I have been told that certain materials belonging to a specific procurement type,have their BOM set that it allows only up to 100 components to be built within it.I had a god look on IMG under most relevant categories and can't find where this is defined in...so I'm wondering if you have ever had the request to look at the maximum number of components that could be built under a specific procurement type of material? Generally speaking,where you could define maximum no of components per BOM.At what level this is usualy set up?

Data Load to PA Info Type 491 - Possible?

I'm having difficulty locating a (non-manual) method of loading data into Infotype 491 (PA0491).
LSMW runs in batch-input mode. This seems to have the effect of not displaying the infotype 491 screen in transaction PA40. (I don't think this is configuration - but if I'm wrong, please tell me.)
I have found no FM, BAPI, or IDOC to support input into this table. There are a few export programs.
Any help is much appreciated.

I have the same requirement for the end user.
Is it a good idea update active Table of ODS behind an ABAP Program Z?, I understood that you can't have log history... and you can't delete request.. because you will not generate this..
We actually have one ODS that contain invoices... all the fields that contain the invoice..like material, vendor, etc.. was updated according to ABAp programa that we specify on start routine, each time that we need to update these fields we need to unload fros ODS to PSA and load again with dtp...
Let me copy more details:
Actually, we have an DSO that is updated each week, we load the information into different PSA, all of this PSA pass to ODS for one info source and transformation rule, in this transformation rule we have an ABAP rotine that have some validation and assign some values for different fields.
In this procees everthing look fine, actually If we need to update this information from DSO (that was loaded and the user need to update some fields) we need to download information from DSO to PSA and load again with DTP process, this was fine.
Actually the user want that this kind of changes will be apply on line, this mean that for example all the invoices that I have actually loaded into DSO need to be analyzed and update according new parameters that they specify in other tables.
The DSO is standard, and contain three basis tables, active, delta, modified.
My question is: Is it possible update directly table of active records of DSO with one Z program?? is it a good idea?, We want to discard the option of unload and load information each time that they need to update certain field that are calculated or updated whit the transformation rule or load.
