Yes, Sun ONE Web Server 6.0 and iPlanet Web Server 6.0 are different names for the same product. Apart from the name, there are no differences between the two. The name changed from iPlanet to Sun ONE after the Sun|Netscape Alliance ended.

Why Left and Right Joins if only one of them can serve the same purpose?

I understand that left join is used to display all the records from left table whereas the right join is used to display all the records from right table in a join.
However, if we switch the positions of the join tables and perform left join we can get all the records of the left table.
A left join B -> will give all records from A
A right join B ->will give all records from B
B left join A -> will again give all records from B.
The order in which the data is displayed(ie the field order) can also be maintained in the SELECT clause.
So, Why do we have left and right joins separately in existance, when only one of them can serve the same purpose?

I think it's because it is sometime more natural to outer join on left or right.
In your data model (or the query you are writing), there is some kind of hierarchy between tables : I feel more natural to have the table with lowest hierarchical level (the root table) on the left. So I sometimes prefer to right outer join...
This is a very personal feeling, I must admit.
To me what is strange is to have chosen left and right as they refer to a "latin" reading direction => forward join and backward join would be more meaningful for people that read from right to left.
+And I prefer the new joining syntax that doesn't us the {noformat}(+){noformat} sign...+

My Ipad 'Systems' shows my WiFi connection is working and all my Apps connect and interact ok but Safari says 'No Response from the Server' the same on my Mail. The WiFi works perfectly on everything else in the house. Any ideas ?

it was not just email it was all internet via safari but all apps including the bank account app. the laptop and pc access the same email servers which work perfectly so it is difficult to blame the servers.
by the way it has now started to work properly at lasst after a whole day of trying to resolve this year.

i have jes 4 suite installed on the same machin: uwc runs on port 81 and 443 (secure) and mail can be accessed on:
https://mail.dom.com
I want to create a new web instance to host the web content. It will be access at:
http://www.dom.com
What needs to be done so that users do not access
https://www.dom.com as web mail
and http://mail.dom.com as web server?

What is on port 80 is the webserver that should host the website.
What is on port 81 is the webserver instance hosting the webmail. I installed a certificate and created a new LS so that users access the webmail through https. port 81 is firewalled.
There is no command called 'host' on Solaris. Actually the DNS admin will register www.dom.com and mail.dom.com to have the same IP since mail and web are installed on the same machine.
The server processes that exist should be the mail processes and the 2 web instances processes. the first instance should listen to port 443 and 81. The second instance should listen to port 80.
the urls that a user might type:
https://mail.dom.com
http://www.dom.com
http://mail.dom.com
the last url is what I want to change. Normally this should display the website. I don't want this result. I want to display the webmail page i.e. https://mail.dom.com. If this is not feasible, I want to display a page showing the 2 other urls.

Does the mac mini server have the same hardware configuation as the regular mac mini with server software or is the hardware different (aside from the i7 quad core and dual hard drives)? Your assumption is correct. The server does however only
have the Intel HD3000 graphics like the base model with
no option, at this time, for the discrete graphics chip. So,
depending on what you are using it for, that could be a deal
breaker. Remember that your MBP does have a discrete
graphics chip.
I have a 2011 Mini Server connected to a Thunderbolt display
that gets used as an engineering workstation and general
personal use (some photo editing, LP restoraton, general
internet browsing). You simply just not enable any of the
server services. I find the combination to work quite well
for my purposes. I also have a 13" 2.7 GHz i7 Macbook Pro
which is pretty much strictly for work. As far as CPU
power it is pretty much equivelent to your Mini. For the most
part I find the Mini does outperfom my MBP. I heavily use
Parallels and Windows7 virtual machines, so the more cores
the better.
So, If you do a lot of CPU intensive stuff that is multithreaded,
the Server may help. If it is graphics intensive and your software
heavily leaverages the GPU, you may actually take a hit on
performance.

Cannot access internal web server from same lan

i cant resolve one problem in may 1921 ISR router, i have a web server in my internal lan , i set up static nat for accessing that web server from outside and it works fine but i cannot view that site from internal workstations can you suggest me what to do. i need packets to go out the outgoing interface of router and then come back and enter the static nat wich will direct to the web server is it possible?

also i have set up dinamic nat for outgoing trafic

and it is working fine too.
on external interface i have nat outside
on internal interface i have nat inside

This is not working because your router has a direct to your web server that is not through the outside interface which is needed for nat to occur, for this to work you need to setup a loopback interface as nat outside and policy route traffic to there for your server traffic
Bu if your server is internal why do you need nat at all? Can you not use bind with views that might be simpler

Why does my music stop playing when I go to safari while it's playing? I understand that music will stop playing if there's a video or other audio going on. The music will turn of just by opening safari.

DHCP Server & DHCP Relay on the same box

Hi,
I was wondering if there was any tricky way to have both the DHCP server and DHCP Relay present at the same time and have router use Relay option before local DHCP pool?
I must say that both DHCP Pool and "ip helper address" command serve the same interface. By default, router will look for locally available pools and send DHCPOFFER by itself without relaying the DHCPDISCOVER to a remote DHCP server, so incoming interface takes precedence over DHCP-relay option and I was wondering if you could tweak that...

Server DNS same as external website?

Apologies if this is a basic question, but I'm finding that tutorials on the subject unhelpful or too specific. You may guess that my knowledge of DNS is shaky.
When a contractor set up our OSX server, he made the domain of the server the same as the address we use for email and the like. So we have company.com.au registered as a domain on the internet with mail handled by an external provider. Our file server here in the office is known as xserve3.company.com.au.
It all seems to work ok, but the server isn't connected to the internet in any meaningful way, other than being a machine on our LAN with an internal IP address (192.168.1.9).
Is this setup going to cause me grief if I wanted to start enabling services such as mail or web serving? Will it simply just be known on the internet as xserve3.company.com.au whereas the externally hosted stuff will be company.com.au?

From your description it's unlikely that any remote (i.e. internet) user will be able to get to this machine at all, regardless of what services are running on it.
You could fire up anything you like and no one outside the office will notice any difference.
Since the server has the IP address of 192.168.1.9 it's clear that it's running in a private network behind some firewall or other NAT device.
In order to make this machine accessible to the outside world you will need to make some changes to that firewall to permit incoming traffic to get routed to the xserve.
In addition, once you do that the server can have any name you like on the outside world. It's entirely possible to setup DNS such that 'www.company.com.au' on the public side gets routed to xserve3.company.com.au on the internal network - no one on the outside world needs to know the real hostname of the machine that 'www.company.com.au' points to.
So, in general, no one in the outside world should ever see any 192.168.x.x address in the public DNS and you configure your router/firewall to forward whatever traffic you do want to go to whichever internal machine you like.
Without knowing more about your setup it's impossible to tell you much more, like where you need to make the DNS changes, etc.

Dreamweaver Namespace issue on my web server

I am hosting my site on GoDaddy.com. I have created a site
using Dreamweaver CS3 and SQL2005. Everything works great on my
local machine, but when I upload it to the remote web server, the
aspx pages do not work. GoDaddy support says it is due to the
second line in every one of my aspx pages, specifically the
namespace attribute. From what I've read, this is automatically put
into every page created by Dreamweaver that contains an asp/asp.net
control. GoDaddy's response is to remove this line from my page and
everything will work great, which obviously it will not. I really
would not like to have to rebuild 32 + aspx pages after already
developing them in Dreamweaver. The actual line they say is causing
the problem is below:

maybe it's your browser that's hiding the error message, if
using MSIE then
please disable the "Show friendly HTTP error messages" option
in Internet
Options.
If that doesn't reveal the error message, try editing the
web.config that
dreamweaver generated for you with the following settings,

Debug Compilation should give more insight inrto compilation
errors, which
can allso be done at the page level via<% @ Page

Custom Errors Off will disable any error pages that may be
shown in case of
an error, seting it to "emoteOnly" will only thow these page
to external
visitors, but since you are not working on the server that
actually makes
little sense.
The trace setting should enable a HTTP Handler that allows
you to view trace
information from /trace.axd in the root of your website,
enabling pageOutput
will inject the tracing information into every page, which
can allso be done
at the page level via <% @ Page trace=true" %>
There settings do have a performance impact because they are
enabled for
every request in the application, once you've got the errors
out disable
them at the application level and enable them per-page.
