Is the 30" display compatible with late Macbook?

I have 3 apple laptops: MacBook Pro 2.4 (late 2007), a Macbook Air (early 2008) and a Macbook (early 2009). Are they all compatible with 30" apple cinema display? What's the best resolution Ican achieve with each one of the 3? Thanks so much.

Nope! Just the good old 30"...
The thing is that I went to a local apple shop and ask a guy to try and connect my new Macbook 2.4 (with the Mini Display/DVI adapter) to a 30" display, and the result was just terrible! I think the definition of the 30" was 800x600 or something!!! Just impossible....
The guy told me that would be the the best the new Macbook can do with the old 30" :-/, he "advised" me to buy the new 24" LED!...
Do you believe this???
Tks

Is the thunderbolt display compatible with Dell laptop (Latitude 6430)?

Since the specs for the Dell laptop (Latitude 6430) do not list ThunderBolt as one of the supported bus structures that means it does not have a ThunderBolt port to connect the ThunderBolt display to. Hence is not compatible.

  • Is the magsafe 85W compatible with my macbook pro from 2006?

I've got a MacBook Pro from 2006 - MacBook Pro 2.2 Intel Core 2 Duo and my magsafe that has worked fine all this time is finally giving up on me.
Searching for a replacement have brought me this info from Apple:
"If you  receive a replacement MagSafe adapter with a "L" style MagSafe connector  when you previously had a "T" style MagSafe connector, the "L" style  adapter is fully compatible with your Apple computer."
While this site - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2346 -  seems to indicate that I need to use a T-shaped connector..
Does it matter whether I get a T- or an L-shaped connector?
Any help or suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

Happy Holidays to you and your family.

  • Is the Dell 3115CN compatible with a Macbook Pro running Mountain Lion? If so, how can I install the drivers and install the printer on my mac?

I hace a Macbook Pro running Mountain Lion OS.... I need to print from time to time but don't have a new printer to go with my new macbook. Would a 3115CN work with it or no? If so, how can I set it up? Setting up a printer on a mac is a bit different from doing so on a windows machine and I am new to the macworld.
All help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. I'm running this printer from 10.6 through 10.9 and it's worked fine with all versions. Dell released updated drivers a while ago that make it much easier to administer this printer.

    Hi,
I was wondering whether, since the macbook pro with retina display has no cd rom drive, whether the MBP is compatible with the share disk utility like the mackbook air

there should be no reason why it wouldn't be, as that's a feature of the OS, not the hardware.

A better solution is to try a number of better, free alternatives. Consider
    LibreOffice (donation-supported)
    NeoOffice (free)
    OpenOffice (free)
I use Apple's Pages ($19.99) as well as OpenOffice and have been completely Microsoft - free for over a year now. Life is better without Microsoft.

I could not decipher which sata is compatible with my macbook, it is 1, 2 or 3, or what should I buy.

Your machine has a SATA III connection, meaning you can get a negotiated link speed of up to 6.0Gbps.
You may want to take a look at my user tip -> Upgrading Your MacBook Pro with a Solid State Drive.
There are dozens of SSDs that would work in your MacBook Pro. You first need to decide what size you want (or need): they're available from 128GB - 1Terabyte.
Personally, I recommend either the Crucial M550 series or the Samsung EVO series. You can get either from a wealth of different sources. I have 4 Crucials now -> 2 mSATA and two standard 2.5" drives. There were some problems with Macs and the EVO series when they were first introduced but they work just fine with Macs now.
Google both drives and find the best prices for the storage that you need. You can't go wrong with either.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • Will the Cinema Display work with an older MacBook Air?

My wife has an older MacBook Air (circa late 2009) with one USB 2.0 port and one Mini Display port. Will the Cinema display work with this model Air?

It looks to me like the cinema display is a DVI connection.  If  you have a MiniDisplay port to DVI adapter that connected the MBpro to the display then you have everything you need.  (plus a DVI cable).   The MDP adapter plugs into the Thunderbolt port of the MBair.

  • PATRIOT MAC SO-DIMM DDR3 , is it compatible with my macbook 5,1 late 2008?

    Hi,
    I Just bought a PATRIOT PC3-8500 1066MHZ 4GB (2X2GB) CL7 MAC SO-DIMM DDR3, for my Macbook 5,1 late 2008.
When I installed the RAM the system keeps rebooting after I turn it on.
I followed the instructions given by apple and the RAM supplier but it seems like the system dosent recognize them.
Is the RAM not compatible with my mac or is there, maybe, something rong with it?
    Please help!
    Thank you!

That memory meets the specs shown in http://www.everymac.com for your MacBook.  It also shows the same specs as the memory offered by OWC, Mac specialists, for that machine.  Same speed, latency, etc.
That would lead one to believe there is something wrong with the ram, some mismatch, or some other problem.  You need to contact who you purchased the ram from and get an exchange or refund.
Macs are very sensitive to their memory so any problems with the memory will stop a Mac from a normal startup.

  • Is the ram in my Imac Al compatible with my macbook Core Duo???

Is the ram in my Imac Al compatible with my macbook Core Duo??? The ram in my Imac is 2x 1GB.
    Thanks,
    KANE

    Hi KANE,
all Intel-Macs, with the exception of the Mac Pro, use the same kind of RAM-Modules .
Specs are: 200-pin DDR2 SDRAM SO-DIMMs up to 1.25” in height. The SO-DIMMs must be DDR2-667 (PC2-5300) compliant and must be unbuffered, unregistered, 8-byte, nonparity, and non-ECC.
    So feel free to swap.

    Hi,
Create a play list that you wish to burn. Select playlist, the file from main menu which gives to an option to burn the playlist. A pop up box appears allowing you to select burn speed and disc format.

  • Why can't i get rid of the firefox4 application which is not compatible with my macbook?

downloaded firefox4 .. it is not compatible with my macbook OSX10.4 ... but the application box still remains and cannot be deleted ... every time i open firebox the first thing which pops up is the firefox4 application box ... once i click it into my sidebar the firefox3.5 opens ... when i open the finder the firefox4 box also opens ... very annoying!

Usually restoring from backup eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes restoring to factory settings/new iPod is required.

  • Is the Canon MF3010 compatible with the Macbook Pro (Mountain Lion 10.8.3)?

A recently bought Canon MF3010 laser printer does not seem to be compatible with my Macbook Pro (10.8.3). Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get it to work? It's not listed in supported software on the site and I tried downloading and intalling some software recently available on the Canon site, but that's not working either.

The MF v10.0.0 driver available from Canon works fine on OS X 10.8.
As for it not being listed in the supported software, if you are referring to the Apple KB article then that is just a list of what drivers are available from Apple. It's not a "only these drivers are supported" list.
So assuming you downloaded and installed the MF v10.0.0 driver, what exactly is not working? Have been able to add the printer but it does not print? Or are you not even able to add the printer?
