Is the 8gb worth it compared to the 4gb?  Is there a noticeable difference between a i5 and i7 core processor?

I am looking to buy a 13 inch mac book pro.  I know that there is a 4gb version with a i5 core processor and also a 8gb with a i7 core processor.  I am wondering if buying the upgraded one is worth the money.  I play World of Warcraft so I am also wondering if the upgraded one will play the game better.  Thanks.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
The 13-inch MacBook Pro won't work correctly with the game. Go for a 15-inch MacBook Pro or an iMac. That's caused because of the GPU. The 13-inch MacBook Pro has only got an integrated GPU that isn't designed for games.
Apart from that, if you are decided to buy the 13-inch MacBook Pro, get it with 4 GB of RAM. You can upgrade it to 8 GB yourself and you will save money without voiding your warranty. Also, for games, you will note the difference with an Intel Core i7, even if the Intel Core i7 that has got the 13-inch MacBook Pro isn't the best i7

  • HT1463 what is the difference between intel inside and intel core

    What is the difference between intel inside and intel core?

    Those two terms are not directly related.  "Intel Inside" is a marketing phrase that just means that the computer that displays that phrase in advertisements has an Intel CPU inside, as opposed to an AMD processor, for instance.  That's all.  Intel core is not precisely a phrase I've seen; but it would simply refer to the central processing area (the "Core") inside an Intel processor.
    Hope this helps

    There are subtle differences on a British layout, mainly having to do with the top line (shift numbers), to permit the use of European monetary symbols. There are a few other keys different (note the enter key).
    Here are the basic layouts. Obviously the MBA won't have an eject key, as the power key resides in that location.

  • What is the difference between a scam and spam?

    I come across these complaints from skype community members on spamming and scamming. Any distinction?

    A spam is an electronic message that is randomly sent to a large number of people who never solicited that message and a scam is a trick which is cleverly made successful by gaining the confidence of the victim. There is big difference between a scam and a spam but people often take it as one thing. In some cases, as such in Facebook, a same thing is acting both as a scam and a spam.Recently a spam started crawling the profile walls of the Facebook users. This acted as a spam because it was sent to a large number of people who never wanted that message and at the same time it also acted as a spam because it successfully convinced people to click on it and do what it says. This confuses people to judge either it is a spam or a scam. It can be both, a single message can fall into both categories. Gmail, WordPress, Hotmail, etc have a good automatic system of identifying spam emails thus making our lives safe and secure. If they didn’t have made progress in spam detection then our blog comments and our emails would have been full of useless messages. That was a brief description explaining the main difference between a spam and a scam. Enjoy yourself and beware of the scams and spams. Internet is full of them. Sourced from: ChasingEyesComputer Tips, Internet, Blogging and Lots More

    Why does iMessages does not work properly ? Please help me ! Its works better with the previous version if compared with the latest iOS

    Many, many thanks for both of you Todd and Rick.
    to Rick:
    I suppose you mean the Color Settings in Project Settings as follows:
    - Working Space: None
    - Match Legacy ... Gamma Adjustments checked ON
    But it does not correct the colors in effects. And checking or unchecking Make Movie/Output Module Settings/Color Management/Profile/Preserve RGB does not make any difference.
    to both of you:
    Those parts of the video image that does not have color effects are just fine. In these parts the color is preserved when reimporting to FCP. However, those parts having color effects (except Levels, as decribed earlier) have altered color results. So, only the parts having effects affecting color are misinterpreted in the image area. The mismatch is of course seen in AE, before making the movie.
    What I ment with "Color Management not working properly" is that (instead of "disabling" it) Color Management does not seem to be able to correct this "misinterpretation" or difference in effect handling between AE 6 and 10.
    So, would you have any solution for this problem?
    Again, many thanks for your fast replies!

    Does anyone know of a matrix or document which shows the major differences between UCCX v7 and v8.0.2?
    I have looked high and low, even searched this forum, but have not found anything.
    I've even looked at release notes in 8.0.2 but couldn't see anywhere that states the changes.
    Any help appreciated.

    Hi,
    I have awarded you both with the 'correct answer'.
    I went through, painstakingly, the documents I was linked to above and compared.

  • What is the difference between PSE 8 and 9

    I was wondering what is the difference between PSE 8 and 9 and are the enhancements worth upgrading to PSE 9?

    iOS is the operating system for mobile devices such as iPhones, iPads, and iPods), as well as AppleTV. Mavericks is the current operating system for Macs (laptops and desktop computers). Yosemite is its newest iteration, currently in beta and due for release in the next few weeks.
    If you are looking for something more specific concerning functionality, you will have to be more specific with your question.

  • Help me explain to someone the difference between a laptop and an Ipad?

    She keep comming up with these wierd questions? I know the difference but I'm having trouble explaining it to her to make her understand.
    Thankx

    a laptop can do everything her desktop can, including printing, keeping lots of folders with stuff in them, working on Ms Office, Databsess, playing flash games etc...
    The ipad is meant to look at data. Books, pictures, videos, web pages, email, and listen to your ipod, of course. You can add programs, but they are normally not as functional (limited to some degree) when compared to desktop equivalents. There is a good spreadsheet, presentation program and word processor, however they are not the full programs as on her desktop.
    The ipad is better for use around the house, when not needing to create complicated documents, print etc...
    A typical night can be using it to see whats on the Tv that evening, finding nothing (no big surprise there), letting my 4 y/o play a game or two (usually shape matching or letters/shapes/numbers), reading a few pages of whinnie the pooh to him in his darkened room as he falls asleep. Then, since nothing is on tv, running the netflix app to stream a movie to it sitting in your lap. Head ot bed, reading on old Sci-Fi book from the 50's that was one of the 30,000+ on gutenberg for free, the backlight dimmed so as not ot keep my better half awake. Around midnight (good book , couldn't pout it down), plug it in to charge and see it still has over 10% battery left.
    Hope that gives her something,
    Jason

  • What's the difference between XI basis and regular basis?

    I am an SAP basis admin for years.
    Now my corp starts to use XI.
    What is the difference between XI basis and regular basis if there is any?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    No difference... Basis is Basis (Technical consultant)... According to me its just terminology changed. i.e. SAP Administrator instead of SAP basis.
    For XI you may need to additionally control the Java stack administartion along with ABAP stack.
    Please go thourgh the below link to know about SAP NetWeaver Administrator, then you may compare with regular Basis activities

  • What's the Difference between Time Capsule and OS X Server?

    The only thing i know is that both of them can share and backup files among different computers.
    is that correct?
    I'm still not quite understanding the exact functions of them
    so your help and explanation will be highly appreciated.!!
    Thanks!

    Did i do something to cast your anger upon me o mighty Camelot, backed up bypterobyte?
    Not at all, Mark - at least not in my case. I'm sorry if it came over that way. I was just saying that there's a slew of differences between Time Capsule and Mac OS X Server - it's almost unfair to put them in the same bucket.
    Yes, Mac OS X Server can act as a backup destination for Time Machine clients, but it can also do a lot more than that. To be fair, it wasn't clear from the original post whether the focus was on backups alone (in which case the two are reasonably similar), but my point was that Mac OS X Server is a whole different animal. It's like comparing a Smart Car and an RV - both will get you from point A to point B, but the RV has bathroom, shower, beds, satellite TV, a kitchen, etc.

  • What is the Difference Between Sys Date and Effective Date ??

    Hi Gurus,
    Can any one pls let me know What is the Difference Between Sys Date and Effective Date ??
    with regards
    User600722

    EFFECTIVE DATE usually refers to a date-tracked record (although not exclusively).
    Date-tracked records in Oracle HR have an EFFECTIVE START DATE and an EFFECTIVE END DATE. The record is 'EFFECTIVE' between these dates. In reports, you often use SYSDATE to compare to these two dates to find the CURRENT effective record, e.g. SYSDATE BETWEEN EFFECTIVE START DATE AND EFFECTIVE END DATE.
    When you make changes to a HR record, you can choose between DATE TRACKING options, such as CORRECT or UPDATE (there are others too). CORRECT will overwrite the record and replace the data with your changes. This is normally used when you need to correct something that is wrong. UPDATE will create a new version of the record from the EFFECTIVE START DATE you choose. It will also set the EFFECTIVE END DATE of the previous record to the day before your new record's EFFECTIVE START DATE. That enables a history of records to be maintained so you can see what your data looked like at ay one point in time.

  • What are the difference between 4.6c and 4.7 versions?

    what are the difference between 4.6c and 4.7 versions?
    if any please give me answer
    regards

    Hi,
    Upgrade SAP or Installation of SAP R/3 and ECC
    What is ECC?  Where to find the installation steps of  ECC 5/6.0 with SQL as database and on windows platform with the steps including Solution Manager installation?
    http://service.sap.com/instguides
    ECC means Enterprise Central Component.
    There are all the relevant installation guides. You NEED SAPNet access because without a registered and licensed SolMan installation number you will not be able to generate the SolMan key for the ECC installation.
    Upgrade to 4.7
    Have you gone through an upgrade to 4.7?
    What are the difference or changes associated with 4.7.
    If you are currently on 4.6C and are inching forward to upgrading to 4.7 then this information might be useful to you.
    There is very little difference between 4.6 and 4.7, the only "steps" you should need are steps in SU25 ( skip step 1) Then go through all your role and perform a merge old new to bring in the new authorization objects
    Just to forewarn you of a potential problem which have been encounter at the point of writing.
    After updating/ modifying roles in step 2C, when going back into 2C to make sure all roles are now green, 70% have gone back to red!
    The maintenance done is ok, but there seems to be a problem while trying to go back into the roles again to re-generate.
    SAP recognizes them as needing "adjustment", so you cannot pick them up in mass generate in PFCG as they do not come in, even though the authorizations tab is red.
    This problem is currently with SAP and it is confirmed that nothing have been done wrongly.
    Generally, the work is quite manageable in the upgrade, but don't be surprised at how big the upgrade is when compared to upgrading from 46b to 46c.
    If we have full software of 46c and 47E is it possible to upgrade 46c to 47E or there is a seperate 47E upgrade software need to be requested from SAP?
    Where I can get the document with upgrade steps on the service market place?
    It is of course possible and supported:
    http://service.sap.com/inguides
    --> SAP Components
    --> SAP R/3 Enterprise
    --> (choose your version)
    at the bottom there is an "Upgrade guide" for Windows and Unix.
    For Upgrades it is recommended to read ALL the notes mentioned in the
    upgrade guide and to make sure one is using
    - the correct version of the "tp" program
    - the correct version of the "R3trans" program
    - the correct version of the "R3up" program
    All that is explained in the upgrade guide and in the corresponding notes.
    If this is your first upgrade you should take a person, that has some experience on doing that for the first time.
    Installation of SAP R/3
    Currently we are going to install SAP on a new IBM server from the existing COMPAQ server. Where can I get the steps for that.
    Configuration is :
       OS - windows 2003 server
       DB - Oracle 9i
       SAP 4.7
    http://service.sap.com/instguides
    --> SAP Components
    --> SAP R/3 Enterprise
    --> SAP R/3 Enterprise Core 4.70 / Ext. Set 2.00 (SR1)
    --> Inst. Guide - R/3 Enterprise 4.7 x 2.00 SR1 on Win: Oracle
    The above url is the SAP Service Marketplace with all the information you need to install, configure and run system. You need to be a valid licensed customer with a user ID and PASSWORD to use that.
    Without access you won't be able to successfully run any SAP systems because it has notes, patches etc.

    Is there a big difference between Intel Iris Pro graphics and the NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M graphics processor with 1GB of GDDR5 memory, is it worth paying an extra $200?

    Software support of graphics card is key.   If no graphics card is mentioned in software specs, then it can be ignored.  Mostly games and high end image and video graphics software are affected.

    National Instruments provides a matrix so one can quickly compare the

    are some of the things one can do with Labview one can't do with
    Signal Express?

    hrh1818 wrote: Which version of Labview are you referring to? I don't consider the graphical version of Labview to be a full featured programming language. LabWindows/CVI is by a long shot a lot closer to being a full featured programming language than the graphical version of Labview.
    Howard,
    You clearly don't know what you are talking about. There is no "graphical version" of LabVIEW, there is just LabVIEW. Click on the article "Is LabVIEW a general purpose programming language?" written by the Jeff K. for some easy reading from a few years ago. It is all still true (except that object oriented features and recursion have been added in recent versions).
    One of the main points at this years NI-week was the discussion of how processor development is switching more and more to multicore designs  to improve performance because a simple boost in clock frequency is becoming more difficult. Linear, text based code is not well suited to take advantage of multticore design, while the dataflow based LabVIEW programming language automatically scales well to multiple processor cores, without any need to rewrite older code. I would say that only LabVIEW is futureproof in this respect. LabVIEW programmers are not wimps that are simply too stupid to write text based code. LabVIEW is not a toy language for people that don't want to learn a "real" programming language.
    LabVIEW is arguably the best programming language in terms of getting things done! I've never felt limited with LabVIEW and my programs often don't even have anything to do with data acquisition or instrument control. The difference between text based code vs. LabVIEW is like "DOS vs. Windows", "Radio vs. HD television". "Trilobyte vs. Homo sapiens" (sorry Putnam ). Text based code is monochrome, archaic and outdated and its linearity imposes unecessary constraints on the programmer that can only be (partially) overcome by wasting even more time throwing even more code at it.
    Sure, a seasoned text based programmer will initially have problems adapting to LabVIEW, just because you would need to adapt to and embrace the power of dataflow and not try to make a literal translation of the text code to LabVIEW, retaining old habits. If you get stuck, come back and ask here in the forum.
    You were looking for object oriented features and failed. All you need to do is a quick site search. All the information is out there. Just because you cannot find it in the first five sentences of the glossy brochure does not mean it does not exist. Maybe you want to read one of the application notes such as:
    LabVIEW Object-Oriented Programming: The Decisions Behind the Design
    In general, you should avoid judgement until you have all information. Your opinions seem quite biased and superficial and not really based on hard facts.
    Initially you asked about the difference between signal express and LabVIEW.

    No thanks, there has to be a better way to get an answer to my
    question than get involved in a two month study project.
    If you would answer the first question quoted above, we could certainly help you with the decision. Isn't that the main purpose of this thread?
    You can also contact your local LabVIEW Field Engineer to go over your requirements and help you make a decision. They usually know their stuff!
