Is the Acer driver download server down?

Need to download touchpad driver, I select the model (E3 112)  but keep getting "Service not available" Anyone else getting the same?

I was downloading most of the day, installing all the updates for a new computer, and had no issues with the servers at all. I finished about midnight.

  • Renaming the C:\ drive in server 2008 R2

I have problem which I don't believe there is a resolution, but I'll ask anyway
Here is the backstory, we have a citrix environment where a certain application needs to write a file to the users' C:\ drive in order to work. In our old presentation server 4.5 farm this was no problem. When we would build the server we would rename the
C:\ drive to the N:\ drive on the server 2003 servers (using drive remap utility). When the users' session was started there would only be one C:\ visible to the app so it would correctly write to the users' C:\ drive. Now we are moving to xenapp 6.5 which
runs on server 2008 R2, and from what I have found online renaming the C:\ drive to a different drive letter (using Drive Remap64 utility) is not recommended/supported. So the app will not launch as it tries to write to the C:\ drive of the server and
is denied. So my question is now, after the server has been built is there any way to rename the C:\ drive to another drive letter? or any way to open up permissions on the root of C;\ so that the "everyone" group has modify access?

  • Why does all the apps - default and the ones I downloaded - shut down by themselves repeatedly?

For the past few days, every single one of my apps seems to shut down by themselves, as soon as I try to open them. I can try to open them several times in a go but still the same thing. Even restarted my phone a few times and deleted the background app, which usually works...
Also it doesn't save any of my photos or theres a plain grey 'picture' with 'JPEG' on it. Moreover, on my camera roll, when I tap a photo to enlarge it, none of them focuses, so all them are blurry. I can't seem to send messages either: that said I usually get all my notifications shown on my lock screen, but lately it doesn't show at all.
Another thing, my phone keeps repeatedly buzzing when there is no notification - or email - shown either on the lock screen and/or home screen.
Please help! I'm running out of options what to do!

Your best bet is to back up your device to iCloud or iTunes, then reset your device to Factory Settings (Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Content & Settings, but do not restore it from the backup. Add your apps back onto your phone one at a time (download them from iTunes in the Cloud by tapping on the App Store icon, then on Updates>Purchased>All, then click on one or two apps and download them and see if the problem persists.
Continue to download apps to see if you start running into the issue again at any point. If you are able to get all the apps downloaded and functioning without any issues, then reset the device back to factory settings, and then restore it from your backup, and see if the issues starts up again.
If it does start up again, then there is something in your backup that is corrupted, and your best bet at that point is to "rebuild" your device from Factory Settings rather than to keep the backup on your device.

  • Hard Drive Space goes down when I turn on AirPort and go online.

So, when I turn the AirPort on on my MacBook Pro you can see the hard drive space go down on the bottom of a finder window. When I turn AirPort off the the GB available on the hard drive stays the same. I'm not downloading anything. that I know of. Is some virus downloading in the background that I can't control? I did a full scan with VirusBarrier Express and it says that there are no infected files on the computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Welcome to Apple's discussion groups.
Launch the Console utility and look in the "All Messages" category for repeated messages. If you see such messages but you don't understand what they mean, copy a few of them and paste them into a reply to this thread.
Is some virus downloading in the background that I can't control?
    That's extremely doubtful.

Hold down the Option key while you boot your Mac. Then, it should show you a selection of devices. Click your flash drive and it will boot from that.

  • HT1751 i bought a new, larger external hard drive. copied my itunes library from the old drive to the new one, changed the libarary location in Edit/Preferences/Advanced to the new drive. iTunes will not start or run unless old hard drive plugged in.??

I bought a new, larger external hard drive. I have my iTunes library on the external drive instead of C: drive, Using Windows 7.
I copied my itunes library from the old drive to the new one, changed the libarary location in Edit/Preferences/Advanced to the new drive.
iTunes will not start or run unless the old hard drive is plugged in.
If I disconnect the old drive iTunes shuts down.
    Any ideas. ??

    Hello kskip,
Thank you for providing so much information about what is going on.  It sounds like you have setup iTunes to save new content to your new external hard drive in iTunes>Preferences, but it sounds like iTunes is not opening iTunes Library.itl file on the new external drive.  You have one last step to take to have iTunes point to your new external hard drive rather than your old one:
Steps to create or choose a different iTunes Library file
If iTunes is running, quit iTunes.
If you are using Windows, hold down the Shift key and from the Start menu and choose All Programs > iTunes > iTunes.
You should see the following screen:
    Additional information
If you do not see the screen above, then you did not hold the correct key at the correct time. You may want to try again. Note that if you pinned iTunes to the Start menu programs, and open it that way, it may not work.
Once you select "Choose Library," you will need to navigate to the iTunes Library.itl file on your new external drive.

  • Does OS X throttle hard disk performance on the boot drive?

Does OS X throttle hard disk performance on the boot drive?
I was upgrading my boot drive on a Mac Pro (1,1) from the original Seagate 7200.9 250gb drive to a new Western Digital Caviar Black model 1tb drive.
What surprised me was that disk benchmarking tools (both AJ System Test and Xbench) showed that the new drive had a 30% decrease in speed tests (primarily writes) when actually serving as the boot drive. Put back in the original drive, and while not as extreme as the new drive, it also shows slower write speeds while serving as the boot drive vs serving as an extra internal drive.
In Xbench, the writes are both sequential and random unchached writes, AJ System test is less descriptive, but the write speeds on the new drive are painfully slow to watch.
Hardware-wise, I'd think this new WD
Is there something in the OS that impacts this? Is it something that can be tuned or tweaked? I feel like I'm not getting the most bang for my buck on the new drive (or the old for that matter).
That said, the new drive reads more than twice as fast as the old, and I can feel the difference significantly on boot up (login screen appears faster) and all my startup items load up much faster after logging in.

    R C-R wrote:
Keep in mind that benchmarks don't really mean much unless test conditions are the same for each test. Benchmark each drive used as the boot drive & you get a relative comparison of their performance as a boot drive.
Which was really all I was after in the first place, and more as a curiosity than anything else, but it was just too unreal to see the drive lose half its read/write speed just because it was the boot drive. I'd expect, and accept, some relative drop in performance, but there seems like there was something wrong.
My problem gets stranger at this point. I was about to give up on using this drive, it was actually painfully slow to use and I'd gone back to my original drive. I thought I'd give it one more chance as part of some external drive enclosure stuff I was doing.
I put the drive back in Bay 1 on my Mac Pro, and it took forever to boot up, and when I ran benchmarks on it, they were only 5-10% of what I'd seen as a scratch drive, yes, that's 5% total. I actually got a score of 5.04 on Xbench. As a scratch drive, the thing gets in the 90's, and as boot drive it was getting 40s to 50s.
Anyways, after avoiding temptation to throw the thing against the wall, I tried putting it into an eSATA external dock, and booted from it. I am typing this from that boot session right now. The system booted up lightening fast, and benchmarks in Xbench are comparable to when it's a scratch drive, and AJA System Test just showed read/write speeds of 98 MB/s. This is what I would expect.
So now my issue appears to be that my Mac Pro, for some reason, is throttling, make that strangling, this particular hard drive when it is placed in Bay 1 and used as a boot drive. Some kind of hardware issue on the internal SATA bus? Incompatibility with this drive and Mac Pros? It's gonna take some more research or testing I guess.
Very frustrating. Reminiscent of my days with Beige Boxes running WindowsXP; certainly not the "it just works" experience I've grown to love since switching a few years ago.
I'll post back when I find out more.
Thanks again for the followup, and interestingly, I didn't get an email notification of an update to the thread. Odd.

  • External FW Drives keep spinning down

I've researched this issue on and off for a couple of months now and am not yet satisfied with what I've found so far. I have a couple of external hard drives One G-RAID 500GB and another modified G-Drive (I recently replaced the original drive an put in a new Western Digital 500GB IDE drive inside).
THE PROBLEM: Both external drives keep spinning down after about 8 to 10 mins of inactivity. Is there a way to prevent this?
Other forums say that OS X will ignore the "Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible" setting for external drives while other suggest that this spin-down is a function handled by the firmware of actual hard disk drive. If the latter is true then I guess the question would then be which drive manufacturer makes a drive that doesn't spin down?
It's very annoying to have to to wait for the spin-up (beach ball) every time you want to save your work. Yes it's only a few seconds but when you have lots of work to do this is an annoyance you can do without.
APPLE: If you are reading, please chime in. Is it true that OS X's "Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible" setting doesn't work for external drives?
I've also wondered OS X is the one issuing the command that orders the external drives to spin-down. And if so, how do you turn it off?
    Maybe a command in Terminal?
    Thanks,
    Xavier

THis is certainly a common problem with WD drives, especially, but it may apply to others as well. Do you know what brand of drive is installed in the G-Raid?
Apart from the drive itself it could also be precipitated by firmware in the bridge enclosure.
One solution to this sort of issue is to simply create an automated process that briefly accesses the drive before the 'spin down" process occurs.
You will find a page on how to do this HERE (you will obviously have to substitute the name of your own volume for the one in the article).
An easier way if you don't want to mess around at that level is to simply use a script or app to do the job.
Take a look at Keep Drive Spinning which is free, or "No Spin" which is shareware, for example.
    Cheers

  • Keep the optical drive spinning

I want to keep the optical drive constantly spinning. I am running music for a dance recital, and all their music is on CDs and I would prefer not to rip it in. My problem is that for the rehearsals, every time they rehearse a new song, I have to wait minimum 10 seconds for the drive to spin up and load the song. Is there any way I can keep the drive spinning until im done with it? Or a way to temporarily load the CD into RAM?

You can simply put the contents of the CD into iTunes; create a RAM disk - iRamDisk 3.2.0 - and copy the CD to the RAM disk provided you have sufficient RAM installed; copy the CDs onto your hard drive. There is nothing I'm aware of that prevents the optical drive from spinning down when idle.

  • Old nVidia Display Driver on Toshiba Download Driver Download

    Hello
Since a few days, theer is a new entry in the display driver download e.g. for Qosmio G30-Serie with update on 5. October 2007.
If you click the link to activate the download, the old driver is displayed (display-20070719123323.zip) an downloaded ... :-(
    Any idea?
    Kind regards
    Uwe Meyer, Germany

    Hi uwe,
In my knowledge the Toshiba graphic drivers are not the same like the original graphic drivers from the graphic card chip manufacture. (ATI, NVidia, etc..)
The Toshiba graphic card drivers are a little bit modified. The driver supports a card overheating protection.
You should know that the notebooks does not support the own strong GPU cooling modules like the desktop PCs and therefore the driver must controls the GPU performance and the temperature.
So I dont wonder that there are some driver release delays. Furthermore many Toshiba notebooks are delivered with the same graphic card so maybe you can look in other notebooks series for the newer GPU driver.
Last but not least the www.omegadrivers.net and www.laptop2go.com sites are nice sources to find the newer driver versions.
    bye

  • Downloading a file from SAP (tcode FDTA) onto the disk drive of the server

    Hi,
We are using the transaction FDTA to download a file to the server. This server is the same one on which the SAP system is hosted the download we have to specify the destination path as
    server1\folder1\filename.txt.
The file is downloaded successfully every time. But we need to know which userID was used by SAP to download the file. For this we have switched on the Windows feature of Auditing. This gives us the username which has created the file on the drive.
Here it gets complicated, as each time we see a different username. Sometimes it is the user using which we logged on to the windows OS (terminal server from where we fire the sap logon pad) and other times it shows the user as sidadm.
We need to know how this file transfer process takes place or if there is someway we can ensure that only one userID is always associated with the file download.
    Regards,
    Rohan.

    Hi,
Thank you Markus and BAIGSA. But the user that i see associated with the file (we get this information via Windows auditing) is the user which is used to login to the terminal server.
Now to explain in detail we first login to the terminal server with domain user ID (userA for e.g.). From there we are able to access the SAP R/3 as well as the OS of the SAP systems. So after I login to this terminal server I open the SAP logon pad and logon to the SAP system from where I fire the tcode FDTA mentioned above.
It seems the user I used to logon to the terminal server (userA) is associated with the file (as seen in Windows auditing) and not the sidadm or the SAPserviceSID user.
Is this happening only because I am using a terminal server to hop onto the SAP system?
    Regards,
    Rohan.
