Is the Adobe Air Packager for desktop or web applications?
I'm testing the RoboHelp Adobe Air packager and noticed that
it produces an *.exe file that must be launched locally. This makes
it seem like it's only an alternative to the *.CHM format for
desktop applications?
Is there a way to link to webhelp topics packaged using Adobe
Air to provide context-sensitive help (CSH) for a web application
running on a remote server? Supposedly the Adobe Air packager has
CSH capabilities, but I've found zero documentation on how to set
this up.

Where can I get the Adobe AIR extension for Dreamweaver CS5.5 ??

I am either going insane or all the links I can find are broken.
http://www.adobe.com/products/air/tools/ajax/ redirects to http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air.html, which has no apparent download link.
Any help most welcome.

I have been looking for the past couple of weeks. Some dweeb at adobe decided to redirect all URLs that had "air" in them to the stupid dev site that of course has no information on it about dreamweaver (except to buy it). It would be logical to put something big on the right side that says "if you got here to download the adobe air extension for dreamweaver it has been moved to here..... I guess nobody is monitoring the thousands of redirects from the air/tools/ajax and might say.. hey I should fix that.....

Adobe Air Packager for RoboHelp

Hello! I have been experimenting with the RoboHelp Packager
for Adobe Air. I really like the many extra features using Adobe
Air allows for Help Files and of course, I also like that you can
finally do a Help File that looks and feels more up-to-date than
the normal boring chm files.
My question is, since I am about to suggest to my company for
us to begin doing our Help Files with Adobe Air Packager, can
someone tell me how to find out if Adobe will continue offering the
RoboHelp Packager for the next versions of RoboHelp? I don't want
to suggest using Adobe Air to then have to revert to the old
fashioned chm's later on...

When you are comparing this to Flash, does this comparison
extend to the requirement for each end user to install the Air
runtime on their PCs before they can access our RoboHelp system?
And that they will also get reminders to update to the latest
version of Air runtime?

Numerous problems with the Adobe AIR runtime for Android

I created a app on the platform Adobe AIR for Android, which requires for AIR. The app is very popular in the Android Market, but many users complain of problems with the installation of Adobe Air runtime.
For example these phones users: LGE LG-P698, LG Pecan, HTC Wildfire. But judging by the fact that users have access to the installation of Air, their phones are compatible with it.
Tell me how do I solve the problem?
In addition, I have a few questions:
1. Decides whether the problem of export application with embedded AIR runtime?
2. I build my apps with the help of ADT. How in this case to make embeding AIR runtime?
3. Is it possible to prompt the user to download and install older versions of AIR? Where to find its?

Adobe Air - Packaging external local files with application?

I'm new to Air. I'd like my application to be pretty light so it loads quickly. So i'd like to place all my assets (XML files, graphics, etc) outside from the main Air file and when the main Air file is loaded into memory, I'd like it to load in the asset files at runtime.
So how do I go about telling Flash builder to save my asset files locally when it packages my Air Application and also ensure I can access these files while debudding my application?

I recently worked with this same problem. The answer is to use the adt command-line tool that comes with the SDK to explicitly include everything you want into your .air package.

Adobe AIR update for Flash CS3

Hi, i'm having some trouble installing the adobe air update
for flash CS3.
I've installed it like 5 times, it always says that the
installation is complete.
But when i go to flash and try to make an AIR file it's not
in the list, the only things i see are those:

You need to post in the Adobe forums.
You need a paid developer account to install apps on an iOS device.

Can I redistribute the Adobe AIR Runtime as part of a native installer or with my product's installer?

Hi to All,
Can I redistribute the Adobe AIR Runtime as part of a my
product’s installer? So that if users don't have Adobe Air
runtime installed then the Adobe Air runtime should be installed
first and then simultaneously my adobe air application should be
installed on single click, removing the difficulty of downloading
each installer seperately.
So is there any way so that I can package both Adobe Air
runtime and my application into a single installer file.
Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!.

Adobe Air package damaged -problem

Hi!
I packaged my Adobe Air HTML/JavaScript -application with Dreamweaver CS 5.5 AIr Extension. Packaging with homemade signature went without any problems, but installing the application doesn't work. I get the error #1000 during installation. I suspect that problem relates to same bug that has been discussed in this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/778613#3405543 (internal bug number 1674848). I thought that the bug has been resolved, but the installation works if I remove large (420MB) sqllite-db-file from package. The package's compressed size is ~ 95MB.
My developing enviroment:
Windows 7 x64 (4GB RAM)
Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5
Latest Adobe Air Extension for Dreamweaver
Latest Adobe Air runtime / SDK (2.7; I have also tried building from command line with same results)
Is the bug still there or should I try something else?

The only idea that comes to mind is to keep the file on the dvd, then have your app install (copy) it on first launch.

Is there any way to export a desktop AIR package when desktop is not supported by an ANE?

I have a third party ANE that I need to use. The ANE has a target for Android, but when I add it in Build Path->Native Extensions an error shows up "This ANE does not support Desktop(Mac) platform". Now, my app is targeting android, but to make it easy for others in my company to play builds without having a device, I've been using the "Export Release Build->Signed AIR package for installation on desktop" option. The problem is, since I've added the ANE, I'm no longer able to hit the "finish" button because it's greyed out due to the error (even though the checkbox to include the ANE is unchecked in the export settings. The only way I've found to work around this is to remove the ANE temporarily and comment out references to it to build the desktop package, which is not optimal. Any other suggestions?

Rather than commenting it out, you could define a compiler parmeter:

Then, in your code, wrap any references to the problem code in the config statement

And:

Then, when you compile for Mac, you just need to set CONFIG::includeAndroidANE,false;
This is what OSMF does to support different versions of the player, and also what SWIZ do to support different versions of Flex.
