Is the battery life back to normal on iOS 6.1.3 with the iPhone 5?

Hello all, was just wondering what with the new update iOS 6.1.3 for the iPhone 5, is the battery life back to normal? I am still on iOS 6.0.1 because after all the bad things about battery life i heard with 6.1 and subsequent upgrades i just decided to stay on 6.0.1. I am really nervous to upgrade to 6.1.3. Is the battery life fixed?
Thanks

Thanks everyone... I think i will upgrade and see how it goes, i cant stay on one OS forever... I too, on my 4S before i got the 5, had 5.0, then 5.1, 5.1.1, 6.0, and so on til i got the 5, which came with 6.0.1, i just stayed there... I have never had battery issues with any of my iPhones. If i do, i have the warranty so i will go to apple store and they will fix it.

Hi i received the nano 7th gen for Christmas and I only seem to get 5 hours of battery life. I use the Bluetooth and Nike app so I expect more drain on the battery.  But I got more time out of running with my iPhone. Does this sound normal? I thought I should get close to 30 hrs of just play time alone.
ALso, my wife got me the Belkin armband to run with the nano but I sweat through the band resulting in the back of the iPod to get wet. Surely this is not good. Anyone have a recommendation for an armband that keeps moisture away from the pod?

iPod Nano are small and they don't use Wi-Fi access so you get less power time on a Nano. As for iPhone, since you got apps, Wi-Fi + 3G access, and everything else, they give you more time so you can keep using. Nanos are ment to listen to music, listen to radio, view your photos, watch videos (without Wi-Fi) and since you got BlueTooth on the nano, it counts as wireless access so it drains your battery faster.

  • I have the new iPad. Even with airplane mode on, my battery life is extremely limited. Is there a problem with the battery? I used to have the ipad2 and had no such problem.

What is your brightness setting & how many apps are open?
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • Any fix to the battery life issue from upgrading to IOS 6.0.2, as my battery life has gone from 2 days to 4 hours since 'upgrading'??

I purchased my Iphone 5 on the day of release, since then I have had a 2 day battery life on average, since upgrading to IOS 6.0.2, the battery struggles to last for 4 hours, is there any solution or fix??  If not any idea when this will be fixed??  Is there anyway to revert back to IOS 6.0.1?
    HELP!!!

It is unlikely that this problem has anything to do with iOS 6.0.2. It is possible that the update process itself has caused some settings on your iPhone to become corrupted.
Here are some steps to deal with this:
    1. Close all apps (use the app switcher; double tap home, press and hold an icon, click the "-" signs)
    2. Go to Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset All Settings. (Does NOT delete apps or any data; just resets network/iOS settings)
    3. Wait for iPhone to restart.
    4. Charge iPhone up to 100% and monitor.

  • My Iphone 4S has far less battery life since before I downloaded IOS 7.1,  Is there a bug in this IOS that wears the battery down faster?

Since I downloaded IOS 7.1 my phone (4S) battery won't last more than eight hours and takes three or four hours to charge.  There must be a bug in this IOS that affects battery life.

  • Battery life severely lessened due to iOS 6.1.2 upgrade-- what to do?

I recently "upgraded" from iOS 6.0.1 to iOS 6.1.2, and now my battery dies overnight while the phone is not even in use.  I had 69% last night and this morning-- dead.  Wont even light up until it's charged.  Unfortunately, I didn't read the blogs about this BEFORE I upgraded, or I wouldn't have done it.  Apparently this is a widespread problem, is there any fix for it?  Or an easy way to roll back to iOS 6.0.1 or even 5.1.1?  Please help, this is unworkable as is.  Thanks!

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

  • IOS 8.3 is draining my iPhone 6 Plus battery life. how to downgrade to iOS 8.2?

I never changed my mobile phone using habits. All that changed recently is my iPhone 6 Plus getting an iOS 8.3 update. I noticed my battery life draining quicker than the usual. It used to still have enough juice to last me until midnight, now by lunch time i am already at 63%!
    Anyone experiencing this?
Know the proper legitimate way to downgrade from iOS 8.3 to 8.2? Prefer to have longer battery life than have this updated 8.3 in my phone. I don't feel the benefits of the upgrade to begin with.

The rate of battery loss is still slowly accelerating. At this rate I expect less than 8 hours usage time.
I wrote a review of my new iPhone 6 Plus here and brought up the issue:

If anybody has any ideas, or comparative battery life results, please let me know.

  • Battery life is pathetic after installing iOS 5

The battery life for my iPod Touch 3rd gen. has been incredibly bad ever since I installed iOS 5, when it was first released a few months ago. The 5.0.1 update didn't help, either. I used to be able to comfortably charge my iPod "just" once a day, but now it's often more than two full charges that are required per day. My usage patterns, of course, have not changed over the past few months compared to when I first got the iPod Touch.
Is there anything I can do to improve battery life, or check its capacity, since I've had it for a while and perhaps its capacity has gone down?
Also, the device's performance has gotten much slower since installing iOS 5, too. I heard that the Notification Center is a primary cause for those problems, so I disabled most things in it, except for Mail and Weather since those are important to me.

I haven't done any scientific testing, but I'd say that I can get maybe two to four hours if I'm just browsing the web, when it used to be perhaps upwards of six to eight hours a day. I do indeed do some gaming, but most of my time is spent on todo items and web browsing. I have definitely not changed how I use the device since I first bought it, which was about two or three years ago, so if there is a noticeable difference then I will perceive it. Also, nearly every day I use the device from a full charge (charged overnight) to automatic shutoff (0% battery), because it hits the "red zone" for the battery quite quickly (about an hour of usage) then the remaining time is spent in the red zone.
For some reason, the battery also leaks quite significantly when I'm not even using it, which from what I understand is also a fairly common occurrence with iOS 5, as well. I think that this is actually where most of the battery life goes to, rather than from me actually using the device.

  • I touch an app icon - it enlarges to full screen size as if loading but 1 second later shrinks back to normal icon size. This happens with every app - nothing loads - please help if you can, I'd be very grateful !  Paul

I touch an app icon - it enlarges to full screen size as if loading but 1 second later it shrinks back to icon size. All the app icons do this - I can't load anything !  If anyone can help I'd be grateful - thanks - Paul

Hi Paul, first you must check you multitaskbar from the phone. Press the Homebutton twice and you see a litte new bar. There you see all open apps. Hold your finger on one app until they shake and a red dot appear in the left corner of every app. Close all apps and restart your phone. If that won´t help make a reset from the iphone.
Press sleep/wake and home button for 10 sek at the same time until a white apple comes up.
If the issue still persist try to do a restore from your iphone

  • Battery life, is this normal?

So I just got my new iPhone 4 this morning at an AT&T store and I was wondering about the battery. I charged it up the entire way and have been using it since this morning. I'm currently at 79% after 1 hour and 46 minutes of usage and 5 hours and 15 minutes of standby. Does this sound normal?
If it helps any I restored my iPhone's settings from my 3G iPhone so I'm not sure if I should reset the phone and start fresh or not.
Suggestions would be amazingly helpful! Thanks in advance.

I reset my settings and am doing better."
I also backed mine up from the old phone. How do you reset the settings? Mine is getting 5 hrs. talk time and 6 hrs. stand by time.

  • Battery life seems too short on new macbook pro 15 with retina display

Wireless is set to off because the computer is connected by hardwire, bluetooth setting is off, and iCloud backup for various apps are checked (on). Battery seems to drain even when the computer is sleeping. Is this normal?

Here is a run down of my computer usage.
100% charge @12:00 midnight, placed in sleep mode
97% charge remaining @6:00pm, no use since midnight
Financial program use 6:05pm-6:15pm; 93% remaining charge
Facetime use 6:15pm-6:25pm; 89% remaining charge
Routine use (switching between financial, Mail, Calendar, and Safari programs) 6:25pm-6:55pm; 80% remaining charge
Sleep mode 6:55pm-8:05pm; 80% remaining charge
    Routine use 8:05pm-11:45pm; @9:05pm 60% charge remaining, @10:05pm 37% charge remaining, @11:45pm 0% charge - reserve power, @11:47pm dead.
80% charge only lasted 3-3/4 hours; that seems rather short.
