Is the camera flash on the iphone5 not as good as on a regular camera?
I took photos in a dark restaurant. The flash went off with each photo. However, the photos I took up close of food came out ok, but the pictures I took of my friends who were just sitting across the table from me looked gray/blue. Is this because the iphone flash just doesn't work as well as a regular camera? I called the phone support and the woman I talked to really couldn't answer my question.
The LED Flash on the iPhone is exceptional. Compared to even the cheapest P&S it's not. It would be helpful if you could post a photo. I have been taking snaps in a dimly lit room with the iPhonr 5 and at a distance of 4' to 5' feet and those came out colorful and brite. There is another ocurrance that happens in low light. When you take a shot with flash a pre-flash emitts before the full shutter clicks. I did notice a greenish/gray tint, but after the photo finished processing in-camera they came out bright, sharp and colorful. I'm not saying anything is wrong with your led flash. It may be your settings, could you have set the flash to auto/off or turn on panorama? Let us know.

The iPhone lacks a few feartures which can be enchanced with software upgrades, but overall it is by far my favorite phone and well worth owning IMHO. Goto a AT&T store or Apple Store and play with a iPhone and I bet you will fall in love with it...

Did you have a shortcut to the website on your iPad home screen? If that is what you want to create again, navigate to that website in Safari and then tap the arrow icon next to the address/URL field at the top of the Safari toolbar. Form the window that will pop up, select - Add to Home Screen. That will put an icon on your home screen that will allow you to open directly to that page in Safari when you tap on it. -
Why is the quality of the DVD not as good as original mpeg layer 3
I have produced a wedding album slideshow in keynote (this allows me the 'flop' transition giving the appearance of the pages being turned)
I tried exporting staring into iDVD but the slideshow quality was awful on the DVD.
I have now tried exporting it from keynote as H264 1920 x 1080, mpeg layer 3. This produces a very hi quality quicktime movie (about 200mb)
From there I have tried importing it into iMovie at widescreen and then sending to iDVD, outputting at professional quality. I've also tried dragging it straight into iDVD.
Resulting DVD is awful and more blobby than pixelated. The intro generated by iDVD is fine however.
Any ideas on what I am doing so wrong?

KoshDVDs are low resolution devices by todays standards; only about 648x480 pixels for NTSC discs.
Image size for iDVD slideshows should be: NTSC standard 720x540 pixels, widescreen 854x480 pixels. PAL standard 720x540 pixels, widescreen 854x480 pixels. Going to larger images won't help and can make things worse. -

Tom, thanks for your quick reply. I'm a commerical photographer using Canon 5D mk2's mostly and have in the past just downloaded images to a mac book for backup. I really liked the compact size of the Ipad and just got the retina model with the camera connection kit and seem to be hearing that CF readers can't be used with it b/c they draw too much power. Seems like I remember reading I could use a cord that might have come with my cameras to download directly to the Ipad. I haven't tried it yet as I can't find the connection but then you just said it can't be done?

When I connect my Leica digital camera to my iPad it will only download the photos not the videos. How can I download the videos anyone please?
If your camera has an SD memory card, use the camera connection kit & the SD card to download to the iPad. That's what I do.
Another way that will work. Download the video(s) to your computer. Then you can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
First, Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie file into the folder. The movie file must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie file should appear & you can import.

It's January 8, 2013 and the "do not disturb" feature is still not working for me on iphone5 or ipad...any suggestions
First thing to try is a reboot of your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
My Do Not Disturb schedule worked fine for me last night. I turned that feature back on yesterday, January 7, 2013 and DND came on and turned off as scheduled last night. Hopefully the reset described above will help you. -

Background: I am a designer (Illustrator/Photoshop) being thrust into the position of creating e-learning materials. I have managed to teach myself the infinitely irritating P.O.S. (piece of software) called Captivate, but am still pretty much useless in Flash.
I have a project that a former designer created a year or two back. It appears to have been done wholly in Flash, though Captivate may have been involved (not sure why it would have, but I don't know enough about what I'm looking at to be sure). She is no longer with the company, so I can't ask her directly, but I am hoping someone can help me here. The project is essentially Jeopardy, as in the game show. The design is such that it is a static screen (identical to the Jeopardy screen), wherein a user mouse-clicks a value in a category (e.g. Forms for 200), and a window (not an actual browser window, but a flash element) opens over top of the main screen, displaying the question and giving a list of selectable answers (typically multiple choice). Correct and incorrect answers are added or subtracted from the score at bottom. It seems relatively straight-forward (and I'd be happy to post all materials here if that would help anyone answer my question). What I need to do is change these categories/questions to update this material to make it concurrent with a new training course. I am hoping I can do this with the materials I have at hand from the previous designer- ideally, update the text file (I think I can follow the formatting to understand how to update questions/answers/correct answers/etc) and then "plug it in" to this framework...but I don't know. I'm at a loss.

It seems that this text file would be imported into the open framework in Flash, but I do not know the first thing about doing any of this. I will eventually be taking some Flash courses, but this project has a much tighter deadline than that.
Can anyone give me any insight into how to proceed? Please let me know if I should upload these files to link here, if it will help anyone to figure out how this works.

You see, that text file is read by the HTML when you access it. As in, there is no "importing" to be done. Simply update the text file as necessary to reflect the categories/questions/answers/correct answers, save changes, and that is that! Provided that you keep the text file in the same directory as the .fla and the html (which you obviously MUST do, or else the Jeopardy screen will show all blanks), you will be good to go! All eagles! All aces! Whatever the phrase is.

You don't. Since you have an Intel Mac, buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD from the online Apple Store.

Why is the flash player install not making good audio?
I am trying to run a "movie" from Autodesk's tutorial stuff, and it
requires a Flash player, which I downloaded
and installed. The "movie" plays but not with good audio...(almost no volume)
I am running win 7 64... went through that install of "Square"
thinking that was the problem..
I think it is some setting in the OS that has to be made (like shut off windows media player somewhere)

A problem has just started with my IPAD Air after 3 months of use.
If I try to open Safari by tapping on the icon the screen briefly flashes white but does not display the page.
Similarly if I try to open Settings page, Mail page, Calendar or Clock the screen just briefly flashes but the Apps do not run.
Some of the Apps do work on tapping the icon e.g. Maps, iBooks, Appstore, iTunes, Newstand etc.
I do have some website links which display when the icon is tapped e.g. John Lewis but some links do not work.
I have ensured that the ipad is fully charged, powered it off an on again, and cleaned the screen with a lint free cloth but the
same problem keeps occurring.I saume you used a second display at one time, otherwise the Display settings wouldn't be treating your primary display as a secondary.
IF you open your System Preferences>Displays (-System Preferences) and click "Gather Windows" it should pull everything to the display on which you clicked it.
