Is the cloud keeping me from txting my wife?

My wife and I both have iphone 3gs's syncd on same pc under the same Itunes and Apple ID account. Now all of a sudden we can not txt each other and my phone keeps losing data and signal. Is it because we are both using the same cloud ID? If so how do I change? I don' want our apps continually syncing on each others phones but I would like us to continue to access the same library for music. We also have to be able t txt each other, it's all very confusing to me.

If you have a card on your account then it has to be valid, it will be checked when you try to download items (if the card doesn't have money on it then it will fail the validation). How have you tried to remove the card, are you logging into the account separate to trying to download the updates, does that not give you the 'none' option : Change or remove your payment information from your iTunes Store account (Apple ID) - Apple Support ?
(Creating a new account won't help with downloading updates to your existing apps, you would have to delete them and rebuy them with a new account.)

Note that Cloud/Match is not the same as a backup or archive of your music. For example, if you have a top quality AIFF file of music and use Match, it will store it as a lesser (but still okay) quality AAC copy. There's a number of similar reasons for not seeing this as the equivalent of a proper archiving drive but basically Match is designed as a convenience for those who want their music anywhere but are willing to work with the multiple, if minor, discrepancies between it and carrying around a hard drive.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer

I replace music files with Apple Lossless after initial download then delete original mp3s to avoid duplication. I transfer lossless files to ipod. The act of sending the lossless playlist triggers new download from the cloud of deleted mp3 which I don't need. How do I stop this from happening?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can only restore them from a backup. This has occurred because you are sharing an iCloud account. ideally you should each have your own iCloud account, that way you can each manage your own mail, contacts, calendars, documents etc and avoid unintentional deletions and unwanted editing. If there is information you wish to share between you, this can be done with a secondary account.
Having separate iCloud accounts, doesn't mean you have to have separate iTunes accounts, so whilst you keep your personal data separate, you can continue to share music, apps, books, TV shows, movies etc.

Why would anyone? Adobe's cloud storage is complete garbage and even if you were to use alternate systems like Dropbox you still have to wait until the files actually sync, which means that during that time you cannot safely load and save them without risking the files getting damaged. Conversely, once they are damaged and you turn on your other computer and they sync you end up with nothing useful at all because previous, potentially intact file versions get overwritten. Sorry, none of this makes any sense. I'd never entrust any critical work to any of these workflows beyond manually uploading a zipped collected version of the project at the end of the day, but strictly separate from the actual working files/ folders.

You cannot yet transfer music from your system to iCloud. That capability will come with iTunes Match, expected any day now though probably not initially in all countries. iTunes Match will also not be a free service.

I am having trouble backing up to the cloud. I have called Apple support and they tried to help. I turned most apps off, did a reset of wifi, tried doing it by plugging into wall, but it kicks off. Any other suggestions?

Try deleting your last backup and try backing up again. If that fails, You may have an app that is preventing the backup from succeeding. To locate which one, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your device under Backups, under Backup Options tap Show All Apps, then turn them all to Off (including camera roll) and try backing up again. If it succeeds, then the camera roll and/or one of your apps is preventing the backup and you'll have to located by process of elimination. Turn the camera roll On and try backing up again. If it succeeds, turn some of your apps to On and try backing up again. If it succeeds again, turn some more apps to On then try again; repeat this process until it fails. Eventually you'll be able to locate the offending app and exclude it from your backup. If it's the camera roll that's the problem, import your photos and videos to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083) and delete them. If you want some of them on your phone again, put them in a folder and sync them back to your phone by selecting the folder on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing.
