Is the corsair DDR3 16GB 1333 SO-D KIT compatible with the Mac Book pro 2010?
I'm upgrading my Mac book pro 2010 and was wandering if this ram works. I already tried the PNY 8gb ram, but snow leopard wouldn't install with it.
I'm pretty sure it can take 16GB fine, after all Apple has said up to this day that non-Retina Macs can't do so much RAM yet here we are, a whole bunch of happy 16GB users (hint: my Mac is carring the Corsair CMSA16GX3M2A1333C9 kit).
However, stedman is right. Your Mac uses 1066MHz RAM, the 1333 MHz RAM is for 2011 models.

In order to get those to work you will have to upgrade to Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:

I recently purchased an HP Deskjet 3050A All-In-One J611 series printer and it is not compatible with the version of the operating system on my mac book pro. I am currently running on OS X 10.4.11 and the printer is compatible with v10.5 or higher. What can I do to update the operating system on my Mac Book Pro?
10.5 will be harder to find & more expensive, I think I'd go for 10.6

That is probably a lot of stuff you do not want on your iPhone. So this can be handled a few different was. For you current situation, you can delete the apps directly on your iPhone by holding on the app until it starts to jiggle and then tap on the X of all the apps that you do not want. The second thing you can do is before you sync with iTunes, look at the app section on your iPhone to know what gets transfer to it and you can deselect items that you do not want. Lastly, if you download content on your iPad and it is a universal app, you can actually download it directly to your iPhone by looking at your past purchases and download it directly from the App Store. I had a windows laptop, and I save files like photos,documents, videos and other things on an external hard drive, and now I want tomove those files to the Mac book Pro, and then move those files again toanother external hard drive 1T. My question is: Is it possible? Doing this willnot affect the files that I had in windows? No information is lost? or how cani do it?
Connect the external drive to your Mac and drag the files from it to your Mac's internal drive. Then dismount and disconnect the external drive, connect the 1TB external drive, and drag the files from the internal drive onto the external. Nothing will have been deleted from any of the drives up to this point; the files will only have been copied. Verify that the files are readable. There's no reason they shouldn't be; this is just a precaution.
Now if you wish to delete the files from any of the drives, drag them to the Trash, and Empty the Trash while the drive from which they came is still connected. If you disconnect the drive before emptying the Trash, the files you were trying to remove from it won't be deleted. They'll remain in the Trash and continue to take up space on the drive.
Note that if your external drives are in NTFS format, you won't be able to write anything to them or delete anything from them, though you will be able to read and copy the files they contain. The NTFS disk format is read-only to the Mac OS, unless you have a third-party NTFS driver installed. To make your drives cross-platform readable and writable, you must reformat them in the FAT32 or ExFAT format. -

I was looking at WD MY PASSPORT FOR MAC and Toshiba. I want something that will work best with time capsule! Suggestions on the best external hard drive would be greatly appreciated!!!A Time Machine backup drive should be substantially larger than the system drive. If you have a 128 or 256 GB SSD then a 1 TB drive will suffice. If you have a 512 GB SSD then a 2 TB drive will suffice. As leroydouglas indicated any brand other than WD will do.

With the Lion it is essentially unnecessary to resort to external driver disks. What's more, most of those disks are incompatible with the OS and should not be used. The system already carries a wide variety of printer description files (aka PPDs, which is what modern printing systems use as "drivers") for a lot of brands. And there was an HP printer update just two days ago.
Just checked in mine and did indeed find that the HP OfficeJet 6200 Series, with or without Fax, is covered with the latest update.
So just go thru the motions of creating a proper printer instance:
Make sure the Mac "sees" the printer on the network.
System Preferences / Print & Scan
Click on the + button on the left column
Select the appropriate type of printer, will use IP for the rest of this
Select HP Jetdirect - Socket, default for HP network printers
Type the IP address or look it up
Name the printer for easy identification on the print dialog
Let the Mac identify the printer model or manually choose the driver
Click Add.
Once the instance pops up in the list, can click on Options & Supplies for further config. -

Should I go for the Mac book pro or the iMac?
Here's my dilemma: I am about to be a sophomore in college and my HP laptop just isn't cutting it for my regular use. My question (which I know is hard to answer) is whether I should purchase the Mac book pro or an iMac. Keep in my I have an iPhone and an iPad, which both come in handy for browsing. I currently use my iPad to keep most of my notes and lectures, but I still need a good computer. I need advice from someone who has had this same problem or owns both an iMac and MacBook Pro. I know my iPad doesn't replace a laptop and I will probably be told to decide whether I need portability, but I would like to hear from someone who also had to make this decision. I'm not leaning to one or the other right now. I am at my home for a good bit, but I do travel around a lot since I am in college. With google drive and other apps I can do most of my writing on my iPad, but for printing reasons I still need the computer. So what are some opinions on which is a better but considering my needs?
In college, my guess would be that portablity would be very important. Since the iMac isn't that sort of eliminates it from consideration.

We are in indonesia travelling and after downloading and installing Yosemite, on our next restart the screen went black and responds to nothing. Tried to reboot (shift key) in safe mode after first crashing the system but nothing responds except for the opening chime. Toal disaster so any help will be greatly appreciated. Judging by the comments I have read, Yosemite seems to have many issues for us to look forward to, if and when we can bring back the Mac Book Pro to life.
See if you can boot into the Recovery volume (boot with the Command + R keys held down). There you can reinstall the system.
