Is the cube processed after an OLS full optimization?
Version: OutlookSoft V4.2
Sometimes, the value in fact tables are not consistent with the values retrieved via Analysis Service. At this time, processing the cube in Analysis Service may solve the problem.
An OLS full optimization sum the data in 3 fact tables to one, and empty the other two. My question is if the cube is also processed in this operation.
Thanks,
Jason

HI,
This can happen when an administration process not finish properly. As you know the two of partions are MOLAP and those must be processed to see the data.
The optimization process is processing the partitions at the end.

Regarding the tracking the live progress of the cube processing.
Hello,
Good Morning. As we are having multiple cube applicatons as part of our project, there are multiple cubes for which we need to evaluate the completion time for the cube processing.
By referencing one cube, the cube processing is taking one hour one day and some other day, It is taking an hour for completion. Beacuse of this reason, we could not be able to asses the time for completion of cube processing.
Is there any chance to track the live status of the cube processing?. Which means, the expected time for completion? How many measure group processing are completed and how many left?
Please provide your inputs on this.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Pradeep.Hi Kumar,
According to your description, you want to monitor the progress of cube processing. Right?
In Analysis Services, there are several tools can help us monitor the processing performance, like SQL Profiler, AS Trace, Performance Monitor, etc. We can also use XMLA command or DMV to get the information. Please see:
Monitoring processing performance
Monitoring and Tuning Analysis Services with SQL Profiler
However, if you want to get the exact live data of the cube processing, Olaf's script can be an effective solution to get the current processing status for some measures or dimensions. But some information still can't be traced, like expected time for completion,
etc. So for your requirement, it can't be fully achieved.
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

Regardnig the Cube Processing.
Hello Team,
When I tried to process the cube, am getting the folowing window, which shows the cube processing whch is in progress.
My Questions are
. What is the number which we can see as 9 of 13?. Why It is different for each partittion of one measure group?
. For few partitions, the Inprogress one's which we are getting as 9 or 13/12 or 13/7/200000?. What It doest meant for?Hi,
This is the way that SSAS engine displays that Indexes are getting created.

How to stop the boot process after the GRUB menu?
Hello there.
I am getting an error message in the boot process, after the GRUB menu, but I can't read completely the message because it is shown too fast. So, how can I stop the process when I see the error message, for writing down it?

I didn't try this before, but if you use systemd, you may want to try systemd.confirm_spawn to invoke interactive booting process, so you can start the services one by one manually therefore locate the one throwing out error message.
It is explained in the systemd manual:

How to resume the flow back to the main process after Subprocees Completes
I have a Work Flow process such that
Main Process calls Sub process(S1), S1 calls Subprocess S2 , S2 calls Subprocees S3 and so on..
Via Status monitor I could see that the instance had successfully completed the subprocess S1 , but then the flow is not resumed to the main process and the status of the main process and the subprocess is still active.
Am I missing something here. Do I have to set some attributes to resume the flow back to the main ProcessHi,
If you are calling these as sub-processes, then there is nothing else that you need to do. When the sub-process completes, the engine will just follow the transition from the sub-process to the next activity.
If you are calling these as detail processes, then you need to include to setup the relationship between master and detail flow when initiating the detail flow, plus use the standard co-ordination activities to communicate status changes between master and detail.

Hi
My phone is stuck in restoring from icloud after 4 days. I have tried restarting it and if I try to cancel backup it says data will delete data
Please help!!!,There is no way out.
Restart the restore procedure and make sure you are connected to the wall power adapter and have Internet connection.
Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
At the end it will ask whether you want to restore, choose iCloud backup. -
I have a library of uploads in the Cloud about 1/25 of max limit for my Match acct. It refuses to update the status inside iTunes while it updates several versions behind as it pushes my uploads to the mobile devices. It has a threshold?! First, the check items to upload would be a problem. After gertting a majority of matching done - Nada, spins for days.
All my Cloud activity, now, happens on an additional desktop OS laptop, and not my macmini server proper smart playlist library where reside all the orginal files - it just sticks on Waiting!? Today I Learned » if there is a conflict in the Cloud, then anything uploaded as a .wav: status is matched as an iTunes Plus setting, uploaded designation is treated/converted as a MPEG-4 audio file - only on the Cloud files - which I have never had in my conversion workflow . I wish a monitor would reply b4 I hit the jump to Spotify.

I recently restored my iPad to fix issues with the Facebook account attached to my iPad clearing all saved data and I didn't backup with iCloud because I wanted to get rid of the Facebook account that I could no longer access and remove or attach with games. Game achievements are shown in the Game Centre but when I play the app it starts at the very beginning of the app with no progress is there anyway to retrieve my progress?
No. Not without a backup.

Processing dimension fails ... the cube already exists.
Hi Gurus,
I'm getting a rather strange error ... when I attempt to process a dimension (any dimension included in a specific application) I get the following error straight after the "Create Dimension" step:
"The cube with the name of '<appname>' already exists in the <appsetname>' database. Server: The operation has been cancelled."
My System - 2 Servers:
Database: Win 2008 R2 64bit, SQL 2008 R2 Enterprise 64bit (DS & AS)
Application: Win 2003 R2 64bit, SQL 2008 R2 Enterprise 64 bit (RS & IS), BPC 7.5 SP6 patch1
BPC is installed to a named instance on the SQL/AS server & nothing else has access to that instance.
I can modify the application fine ... all the options are OK,
I can do a Light or an Incremental optimize, all options are OK.
a Full Optimize fails with the same error even if no options are selected, straight after the "Clean up fact data" step.
I have checked the following:
1.) ALL members in the FACT tables are valid base level members.
2.) No Dimensional formulas exist
3.) Default Logic is blank (everything commented out).
I have backed-up up the applicationset & restored it to my dev server and there it works perfectly ... (dev is Signle server Win 2003 32 bit)
I deleted the applicationset on production & restored it from a 2 day-old backup (which processed perfectly just before it was backed up), and it ALSO failed to process ... same message.
Any ideas?OK,
I've resolved the problem ... but still don't know WHY it happened & how to prevent it happening again ... so PLEASE, gurus ... help me out.... Why did the problem occur, Why did the steps below help, and How can I prevent the problem reoccurring.
The steps to resolve the problem:
1.) Back up the AppSet
2.) Delete the AppSet
3.) Shut down SQL Database Services & SQL Analysis Services
4.) Delete any files & folders in the Database Services & Analysis Services Data & Log directories that contain the AppSet name as part of the file name (There should be none if the AppSet was cleanly deleted ... There weren't any in mine, but I add this because it was a suggestion off a MS site.)
5.) Restart SQL Database Services & SQL Analysis Services
6.) Restore the Appset
7.) ... Do a Modify on the problem Application & Then do a Full Optimize with all options selected.

Error for the fact table while processing the cube - attribute key cannot be found when processing
Please help as I am new to SSAS and this is urgent requirement. This is a MOLAP cube and below is the error that I am receiving when processing the cube. The cube is set to Prrocess Full. Several similar errors are popped up for various dimensions.
"Errors in the OLAP storage engine: The attribute key cannot be found when processing: Table: 'Fact_Table', Column: 'ID', Value: '1'. The attribute is 'Id'. Errors in the OLAP storage engine: The attribute key was converted to an unknown member because
the attribute key was not found. Attribute Id of Dimension: 17 - Ves - PoC Cont from Database: DB, Cube: IPNCube, Measure Group: iSrvy, Partition: Partition1, Record: 1."
Thanks in advance. Thanks for the recommendations David.
It will be really great if you can clear some of my doubts:
To my information, all the dimensions need to be processed first and then the fact table will be processed.
So if the ID's are not present in the dimension tables, then it should not be present in the Fact table either.
Here we found null values in the dimension table and the ID's were present in the Fact table. What might be the reasons causing such situation?
Also how frequently the cube needs to be processed? Currently the ETL which processes the cube, is scheduled in a SQL Job Agent on hourly basis everyday.
Is there any possibilty that the cube might be under processing state and the SQL job for the next run getting executed trying to access and process the cube while it was still processing? -
How to automate the WM/shipping process after the consignment issue ?
I am looking for the best way to automate the shipping process after the consignment issue orders has been created. since Warehouse/shipping process will not consist of any actual picking and shipment but we are still required to go through the use of Vl01N and VL02N for Delivery Note and Good issue... steps......I want to know if there is any best practice is to automate the call to VL01N,VLO2N for all the completed consignment issue orders that SAP suggest or someone has done some work in this space.....and can share their views.....
one situation to explain the needs....
Create the consignment issue orders via EDI....and once they are there ...we need a automatic process to find these order and create the delivery note , goods issue documents.........looking forward to hear from experts who can inform if there is a standard SAP process( automatic) out there or we need to do some custom development....to achieve this....thanks.....Thanks for the insight....we are thinking to have a new custom table added which will have all the order that needs to batch processed and if we have any errors we can re process them from the control table ( new custom table)...please let us knwo if there is any other way to do this....or sap already has some tables....whihc we can use...to automate....as a batch process.....

SQL Server Profiler does not capture cube processing queries against the relational database
Hello, experts,
This my first attempt to use SQL Server Profiler to find out why my cube processing is so slow. Here is what I did:
My cube sources its data from a SQL Server database. While the cube processing is going, I launched the profiler connecting to the database engine (note: not the Analysis Services). I choose the "Tuning" template and started the trace. However,
I do not see any query activities (such as, SELECT DISTINCT ...) in the profiler trace window.
Did I do something wrong, or do I have the wrong expectation?
Thank you much in advance.Hi QQFA,
Agree with Olaf.
Please make sure that you choose the appropriate events to monitor the cube processing queries when using SQL Server Profiler.
And I recommend you review the following links to get more information about tuning Analysis Services with SQL Profiler.

Amount not getting displayed in the cube
Hi,
I have a ZTable which has got an Amount field declared like this.
AMOUNT WAERS CUKY 5 0 Currency Key
And I declared a ZAMOUNT as Amount in the cube and provided 0CURRENCY.
Initially there was no value in the Amount column in the Ztable and hence could not see any value of Amount in the cube. But after entering values in the ZTable, I deleted the replicated the DS, create TR, UR and then create an InfoPckg and then created the Data Transfer Process. But still I am not able to see the Amount Value in the cube.
Kindly Help

Hi Edwin,
Assigning and mapping which you mentioned is just pulling an arrow from the left Amount to right ZAmount, right? I did that. But there is an additional 0Currency on the right side without getting mapped? Should I map that also to Amount? Any issue with Rules.
