Is the description tag of the app descriptor used in mobile apps?

Just a simple question. I know the <description> tag of the app descriptor is used in the desktop AIR installer to tell what's the app about, but, is it ever used when compiling for iOS/Android/BB? The description is usually added manually to the App Store / Play Store page, so it would seem as if it's never used.
I remember a while ago seeing somewhere in Adobe's documentation a table of the descriptor tags which were used on desktop, which on mobile and which on both. Does anyone have the link to that page? I can't seem to find it now.

How Do I Get Full YouTube Video Description in the App

While looking at a video in the official YouTube app (iPad 4th gen, iOS 7 and I'm sure this problem was here before that too), if I click the arrow next to the title I get a two sentince description, but can't seem to see a way of getting the full descprition as it is desplayed on the YouTube page if using the home computer. I would expect that if I'm clicking the arrow to expand the content of a section I would get the full content of that section... Am I missing something? I don't see anything in the settings that stops it from showing everything, or is this just a limit of the app period?

Within the World Clock screen, tap the Edit button in the top left corner. This will give you the option to delete as many of the clocks as required. You can then add those for cities you require.

ITunes App Updates in Yosemite, no longer show a description of what's new in the app.

Greetings.
I've noticed since upgrading to OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) a few days a go, when you have app updates waiting in iTunes, if you click on an app's icon, there is no longer a description of what has changed (or is new) in the app.
Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a fix?

I'm having the same exact problem on my Mac as well. Its a bug and sadly Apple hasn't yet released a fix to it, but I'm also having an issue where iTunes says "Determining Gapless Playback Information". It's so annoying and I'm really hoping that Apple would read this and fix these problems.

I understand that your App Store does not show your app updates. Please follow the steps below to help resolve the issue.
1. Close All Apps on iPad: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
2. Sign out of iTunes & App Stores: Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Tap AppleID > Sign out
3. Reset All Settings: Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
4. Reboot iPad
5. Sign back into iTunes and App Stores: Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Sign In with AppleID

If you are talking about iBird Pro HD, it is for iPad only. There is an iBird Explorer Pro app that is for both iphone and iPad. Same company. See all their apps here: http://www.ibird.com/
If the app you are looking at does not say it is for the iPhone, don't buy it. You'll own an app you can't use (unless you buy an iPad to go with it).

That must have been active at some earlier point.
I tried to contact Apple and since it's not an urgent matter I chose the communities support first. I'd like this sorted out because the dev should have either withdrawn the app or update its description, and I'm not familiar with Apple's screening procedure regarding AppStore..
Any input will be much appreciated.

I'm stuck in an app description in the app store - no back button!

Hey folks,
I clicked on the National Underground Railroad Freedom Centers app from the Featured page over a week ago and every time I click on the featured button now, it takes me directly to the app description.
I've tried logging out and back in as well as turning off my phone but nothing seems to fix it. There's simply no "back" button - no way of getting back to the main featured page.
If someone could help me out I'd really appreciate it - this is starting to drive me nuts.

I also experienced the same problem where the "App Store" Button left of the text "Info" was missing!!. I also have no clue how this happend, it did happen to me two days ago.
I tried klchong118 suggestion on turning on/off genieus and this helped me!!, thanks a lot man! Now I can access the featured apps section. After viewing the content of another app it did not fall back to the same problem. So this solution did fix the problem for me.
Before trying the fix I was running IOS 4.3. Updating to IOS 4.3.2 did not fix the problem, neither did a reboot of the phone or killing the App Store app in the multitask section.

I have 2 updates waiting, but when I click "update all" and log in, I get a message that there was an error in the app store. please try again (13). This has been going on for weeks now. I can log in to the app store and check my account details without problem. Any idea what is wrong.?

Just found another post with the same problem and this suggested fix:
"Follow the paths and move the files in bold print to the Trash.

Only problem is.. I don't have the first three and removing the last had no effect.
One additional detali. This Mac was created by migrating the system from my a previous Mac. Significant?
Oh, and the system info in my profile tag was not updated. this is on a 2011 MacMini Intel Core i7, and OSX 10.7.4.

The App Store won't recognise verified Apple ID

A friend has a problem on her iPad as she appears to have two Apple IDs.
On the iPad and under Settings, the iTunes & App Store shows her Apple ID as an iCloud email address. If she taps that ID to view the ID information it asks her for a password, which is accepted, and it goes into the Account window which again displays her Apple ID as the iCloud address. Tapping that again gives her an Apple ID Summary, and the opportunity to click an appleid.apple.com link to change security questions and other Apple ID details. Clicking on that link takes her to a login page on the Apple website where she can sign in successfully with her iCloud ID and password.
She then sees confirmation of her name, her Apple ID and Primary Email Address (the iCloud ID/address) which is ticked as Verified. She also sees an Alternate Email Address (a gmail.com rescue address which she set up last month) which is also marked as Verified.
So far so good.
The problem arises when she goes into the App Store on the iPad and tries to do anything (update or purchase an app). The Store gives the gmail.com address as her ID and asks for a password for that (which she does not have). Why doesn't the store have her iCloud address as her ID - as would appear to be the case from the other information given above?
Is there a simple way to have the Store use her iCloud ID?

How can I share photos with family? Share feature to web doesnt work, and the app would allow them to edit the pics, which I cant allow.

Before LR, I used photoshop, and saved my edited and non edited pictures to a NAS drive which had read only file sharing, so all my family could browse and view the photos.
asSince using LR 3, all my photos have been locked up in LR, with no usable way for anyone to see them. The only thing I do is tediously save some processed pics in small size, then upload them to facebook. Howwever, my vast library of photos is locked up in LR.
My 4 year old daughter LOVES to look through them, but there is no option to give her READ ONLY access.
I tried installing the ipad app, but this is useless for this purpose for 3 reasons:
a) I have to sync each collection manually, no search options.
b) a few swipes with her tiny fingers, and my collection is wiped out as it syncs her "changes" back.
c) I have over 1TB of photos, and to sync this with Adobe would take months if not years, even if it only uploads the smart versions.
What I, and probably all family photographers need, is a read only app (and possibly website) which can browse the entire repository of an LR catalog, or at least something like a read only version of the current app which requires each collection to be uploaded to Adobe (not something I really want to do - my local network is fine, and much faster, than a rural internet connection).
How hard could it be to add a read only flag for mobile app, or a read only guest version of the app, or a basic web server to LR?
Personally I would never want to edit my photos on my android phone, it seems like a gimmick, but I would want to show them to people, including daughter/mum/friends, and let them browse on my phone. If anyone knows a way to do this, let me know.
Its such a shame to have 40 years of amazing, categorized and tagged pictures locked up on my laptop, where no-one can view them.

I tried to figure out what you were asking about, and realized that I did not see the synced collections either. But then I realized I was logged in to the wrong Adobe account - my wife is the actual subscription holder. not me. But I stay logged in as myself to participate in these forums.
So I logged out and logged back in as her, and still didn't see the collections. I closed the page, reopened it, closed it again, and I wish I could tell you why, but the collection I have synced to Mobile showed up.
So there is a perfectly good web site, you just need to get logged in properly I guess.
I clicked on the sharing options icon and this is what I get. I redacted the URL for obvious reasons:
You can allow the viewer all, or picked, unflagged, rejected. I don't see a way to make it completely read only. Just don't teach anyone how to flag or pick a photo.
