IS THE DROID CHARGE WORTH THE MONEY???

I currently own the original droid and have been researching on my next phone. I have narrowed it down to the Droid Charge or LG Revolution. I leaning towards the Charge. Any suggestion, comments or thoughts.

I have the Droid Charge & I absolutely LOVE this device. My favorite feature is the 4G mobile hotspot. This feature is currently free until 7/6/11 as a promo. You can connect up to 10 devices to the internet, all with 4G speeds. Also, I love the 8MP camera. The pictures I took on vacation are superb! I think that you will truly enjoy owning this device. Currently the prices is $299.99 with a new 2-yr agreement. I'm not sure what will the price will be during the holidays but this is a device that I couldn't wait to have! My Droid Razr Maxx froze last night. It is not worth the money.

This is my 2nd Droid since June. The first I had for 2 weeks and the battery was draining in less than 24 hours. This one I got in the 3rd week of June. I bought it because I wanted a good phone camera - I rarely use data, it is used mainly for calls and texting . I DID send a pic to Facebook last weekend, and could not log out of Facebook. This might be the cause of following freezing, don't know). The screen started going crazy occasionally after having it a month. Sometime in the night it beeped indicating I had a text. It did it again around 6:30 a.m.. When I got up, it still had the blank screen and the message light was flashing. I couldn't get a screen. I plugged it in to charge it and after app. 15 minutes my screen came up but it was still frozen. I've had two phone calls I couldn't answer. After app. an hour the screen went blank again, and the red circling image indicating it's turning on started and has now been running for about 30 minutes. I no longer have a land line and am going to have to drive 27 miles to a store to get it fixed when I need to be preparing for the coming hurricane. I'm posting this as additional evidence that something is wrong with these phones, and they are not worth the money.

When the RAZR/ RAZR MAXX freezes, you can hold down both the Power and the Volume Down button at the same time for about 7-10 seconds, until it flashes. This is what is called a "Soft Reset". You will not lose anything because of this reset. As far as your battery time, 24 hours between charges might be considered good. It all depends on what apps you have installed, the location and signal of the towers for coverage, etc. I take mine off the charger around 5:00 AM, and when I go to bed at 10:00 PM, I am usually between 30-60%, depending on my usage during the day.

Is Quicktime Pro worth the money?

Like my subject says, I am considering purchasing the serial to upgrade to Quicktime Pro 7 and just wondering if it is actually worth the money or if the normal Quicktime is good enough?

The Pro upgrade allows you to create content (start to finish) using QuickTime.
Things like image sequence imports (think claymation), adding images and audio to video, converting file formats (iPod come to mind) and dozens of other uses.
Nearly all of my "movies" are made using QuickTIme Pro and I've been a user (and buyer since version 3 was the first time they charged extra for it) for many years.

Itunes is charging me for something my brother tried to buy, even though I didn't have the money on my account. I can't download free apps or anything cause they say I owe them 36 dollars for something I couldn't even afford.

I was trying to download free apps, and found out Itunes wants to charge me 36 dollars for something my brother was trying to download for his Cartoon Wars game on his ipod. They charged me the money and now I can't do anything because they want the 36 dollars. Need to get these charges taken off so I can use the card again.

I am pretty sure it will always use the credit card unless payment method is set to none.
That has been my experience anyway.
They already have the money from the gift card so would rather collect from your credit card.

Is the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS worth the money for Final Cut Express?

Hi,
I'm considering a new iMac 24, but not sure if the speedier on is worth the money.
Currently I use a MacBook Pro 2.2 for Final Cut Express with a 23" cinema (mostly DV, some HD) and that works okay, but won't play back in real time when I composit video.
Anybody know if the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS will help in that area?

The speedier video card is great for 3D stuff, but it won't matter a wink for Final Cut Express, which barely makes use of the video card.
Keep in mind that Final Cut is using the CPU, not video card, to perform the editing, decoding, and encoding of the video. The only time the video card comes into play is during playback of the video, and any of the video options available for iMacs will handle that just fine.
When you composite video, the hard-disk throughput will start to come into play. The dinky 5400 RPM disk in your laptop will adversely affect the performance of that.

It is one of the items that Apple gets criticized at regular intervals. The MagSafe connector is proprietary and unlicensable, so the company has a lock-in on the power options. And as you have now found out, your hijinks trying to avoid buying an expensive new charger may have caused more damage and led to a total no-charge condition.
If lucky and no physical damage has occurred (there IS a fuse in there somewhere on the circuit boards), maybe resetting the SMC can restore charge functionality, provided there is still enough juice: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964

I would like to further my education and found this ERP Systems course being given at the University of Victoria in Melbourne. I would like some opinions on the curriculum. It seems like a great course, but it it enough to get me a job when i graduate?

These same organisations are now attempting to extend their supply chain via E-Commerce business solutions.
Enterprise Resource Planning Systems Implementation: the basic methodologies, techniques and tools that are used in the implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning Systems using SAP R/3 as an example. Many large organisations are making decisions to implemented Enterprise Resource Planning Systems but the implementation is complex and requires specific project management skills and knowledge.
Strategic Use of Enterprise Resource Planning Systems: the strategic features of ERP systems and how these features can be utilised within an implementation. Many large organisations have implemented Enterprise Resource Planning Systems to integrate their business processes and are now attempting to gain further benefits by utilising the strategic features of these systems such as supply chain optimisation, customer relationship management, and data warehousing.

I did my masters in just computer sciences, but if I had something like this available I would have gone for it. But there are a couple of factors to consider. One is will there be good campus recruitments and what is the rate absorption of candidates for this course. Second question, do I really want to persue this field as my career. ERP is the concept that revolves around the business. So you should have an aptitude for learning how a business operates and functions.
The course curriculum looks good particularly because it includes topics on Supply Chain Management and Business Process Engineering which are relatively new.
Another good aspect of it is that it is giving this course with SAP as an example tool. SAP is the leading ERP software company(and many more products are added to its portifolio now).
Is it worth the money? That you have to decide. You can do a regular masters in computer science, but get a job in a company that trains you in SAP, and learn everything on the job or take some traning from SAP training academies and then start on job. That is one option. But if you want to persue a career in building products in the ERP/SCM areas, then a formal education in that area will be useful. But if you are just interested in implementing existing products then it is not a must.

the defender series otterbox case with screen protector case isn't being shipped yet so i am using
the otterbox commuter case with verizon wireless store's 3pack of screen protectors - i do not like screen protectors but verizon sells the ones for the charge specifcally and it will
hold me over just fine until defender ships in august or september
either case helps to not accidentally press the power button easily while holding this droid Charge

ps these add bulk to phone i like the commuter case it is way sturdy polycarbonate or whatever STRONG black plastic with port covers except for hdmi that already has a cover built into phone

IPad or Mac? which is better worth the money?

iPad or Mac? which one is better worth the money, if mac, which is the cheapest but still gives you all the good apps and qualities? I would use it alot, and i already have an iouch so would the ipad be worth it? im a teenager so i would use these things alot,and i need some features to help with school and just having fun!!

iPad is not a substitute for a Mac. It's more like a companion to a Mac.
In desktops, Mac mini should be sufficient and is the only comparable Mac in terms of price, but you need to add a monitor, keyboard.
In laptops, consider the MacBook Air for its portability, and the MacBook Pro for more options in terms of processing and screen size.
Visit an Apple Store (the physical kind). The staff is very helpful and will assist ou in making a decision.

I've tried the new iWork and feel cheated. I'm gonna stick with my old '09 version. It appears to have lost utility, and is now easily surpassed by Word 07. Is a new version that's worth the money and hype coming?

Until then, you can carry on using iWork '09, or try Microsoft Office 2011 or even LibreOffice, which is free and open-source
