Is the Fatal1ty USB Gaming Headset HS-1000 for Mac compatible with a PC?

Hi,
I mistakenly purchased the Fatal1ty USB Gaming Headset HS-1000 for Mac instead of the PC version.
Are these still compatible with my PC even though they say "for Mac"? They have a USB connector just like my headphones and I have had people say that they "should" work, but I wanted to verify this.
I already had one pair that I purchased a while back for my PC and they work great but my wife wanted these also and I didn't realize there were two versions. If they will still work with a PC, I will just keep them. I just didn't want to open them up and find out that they don't.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I found something else out , the MIC is recoginized at startup when i have the problem , but not the headphones .

  • (MODE PROBLEM) Fatal1ty Usb Gaming Headset HS-1000

Hi, yesterday I bought my "Fatalty Usb Gaming Headset HS-000" .
I installed it with the CD, and started messing around with some configurations etc.
I realised that the sound was okay in game, but not perfect so I wanted to set some settings.
Anyhow I googled what best settings suit for cs .6 , and I found that someone asked the same question, I saw on his
Creative Audio Controll panel, he had a tab called "MODE".
    There were 3 modes
    - Entertainment mode
    - Gaming mode
    - Audio Creation mode
    picture: http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/3339/settingstw6.jpg
I hadn't realised there were 3 modes, so I opened my Creative Console Launcher, and I realised it says
"Entertainment Mode" to the top left...
So I too tried to open Creative Controll panel, and I found that the "Modes" Tab was missing.
I went to the site and downloaded latest driver, restarted computer, and tried again, it was still missing..
I searched Creative folder for "game" and found a file called "ModeGame.crl"
Which means it has to be there.. but I dont know how to switch mode to game?
    Please help me Fast!

  • HS-1000 /Fatal1ty USB Gaming Headset

These headphones will not install on either my laptop or desktop. I am running Vista on both, one with 64 bit. I installed all the software that came with the headphones then re-booted as instructed. Everything boots up just fine, no issues. When i try to plug in my headset i get a pop-up stating that i need to intall the drivers for a new device. So i re-install the drivers and put the file on my desktop and it still doesnt find the drivers. I have even tried to use the software that came with the headphones to locate any creative installed products and it doesnt find them.
I went through the knowledge base and it pointed me out to a file for windows that hotfixed Vista trying to find new USB attachments. This was included in SP1 and were already installed on my computer.
Im getting frustrated with these headphones and it doesnt seem like there is much light at the end of the tunnel. If anyone can give me some input or has some ideas, i would love to know. Thanks

    Hey guys,
I have the same problem with my HS 950. I've uninstalled the drivers and reinstall the latest available but the problem still the same.
    Any ideas ?

  • Fatal1ty USB X-FI HS 1000 Slowdowns / Speed

Well recently I purchased the Creative Fatal1ty USB Gaming Headset (HS 1000) With built in X-FI 3D Surround sound.
Now..All is fine..except every 3 hours or so - all the sound coming through the headset starts to slowdown, then speeds up again, then it keeps doing this until I unplug the headset and then reset anything that is using the sound source eg: Ventrilo, games - whatever I have running.
I am running Windows Vista 32bit Service Pack 1
    Any ideas?
I have only installed the stuff off the supplied disc..and cannot seem to find any online drivers for it.
    Thanks in advance

what about me im running XP 64bit
wow creative you fail... never buying a product from you again. I cant believe how hard it is to get someone to help with problems and when i get the new firmware it doesnt work.

  • How does one enable Stereo Mix on the Sound Blaster Arena Surround USB Gaming Headset

I'm usually streaming games and I picked up this headset to replace my old gear.
I've noticed in 32-bit XP Pro I do not have the option to enable stereo mix which was how i was able to stream game audio and commentary on.
Does a work around exist to enable stereo mix or to otherwise transmit audio from both the input and playback sources?
BTW I've also posted this on the Livestream forums to see if I can get a bite.

  • Using the creative faltality USB gaming headset's microphone alone.

    Hello,
Sometimes when I use my headset, I perfer to use the mircohpnone on the headset alone and wears the headset on the neck. This has been going on well with the traditional headset where I can just plug the microphone (pink) in. However, when I get the USB gaming headset today, I found that it automatically disable the sound from the speaker when I conntect the USB cable. How can I set it so I only use the microphone on the headset and can still listen thru my speakers? Thanks

As far as I know, this part is not available separately. It comes with the whole headset package. I'm sorry but I don't know of any store that sells this item. Message Edited by Loi-CL on 05-27-2009 06:05 AM

  • No left audio. No serial. Sound Blaster Arena Surround usb Gaming Headset.

I have a Sound Blaster Arena Surround usb Gaming Headset and the left speaker no longer works.
I have tried the headset on multiple computers ranging from xp to vista to 7. some have different versions of the driver. On all the left audio is silent.
I would like to redeem my warranty because I bought the product on 08/04/10
But I no longer have the box or booklet that came with it and therefore can’t get the serial number for the device.
Is there anything you guys can do to help me?
The closest article I could find to this problem was here http://forums.creative.com/t5/Headphones-Headsets/Sound-Blaster-Arena-problem/m-p/558966#M2001. So it appears I must wait for an admin to help.

    Thanks!
    Very handy info.
I went to http://rma.creativelabs.com/OnlineRMA/EnterProduct and that section required I have a legit serial number.
    Thanks!

  • Problem: Sound Blaster Arena Surround USB Gaming Headset

    Hello
I have one of these Sound Blaster Arena Surround USB Gaming Headset, which are 7..
I have Windows 7 as OS on my computer and it gives me a few problems.
W7 recognises the headset as a "Stereo" headset. The headset has a Sound Card of it's own and uses the drivers that come with the Installation CD for Surround settings that are mad in Audio Control Panel or Creative Entertainment Console.
    This is a problem.
For example. Playing Call of Duty 5: World at War.
The audio settings on this game, always (and is unchangeable) goes after the default Audio Device. And then it recognises my Headset. And puts in STEREO config. Since it was W7 recognises, and I cant change that on the game and neither on the Audio Settings on the computer. Which make the subwoffer and Surround effects useless which is a hard bummer, since it's such an awesome headset and is totally awesome when i play Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
I really want to know how I can fix this! Please help me. Any settings or special config in the cfg files you can do on Call of Duty 5 or and settings or stuff I can do to change so W7 recognises my headset with the 7.!

Also the plastic housing will go back together. If any additional info is necessary, please inquire.

  • Arena Surround Usb Gaming Headset broken?

I received an Arena Surround Usb Gaming Headset about 6 months ago as a gift, and up until yesterday it was working perfectly on my Windows XP gaming machine.
Now when I plug it in one of two things happens. Sometimes it immediately fails, producing only a clicking or popping sound approximately every second. The rest of the time it works fine for a couple minutes before entering the same fail state, occasionally crashing audio programs running at the time. Unplugging it and plugging it back in will sometimes fix it temporarily, but this is obviously not an acceptable solution.
Since it worked perfectly for 6 months over which I didn't change any hardware or drivers, I do not believe this is a problem with my other hardware (not my sound card since my speakers still work fine) or drivers. Fiddling with the cable seems to cause the failure state within a few seconds, which leads me to believe the problem lies with the cabling or USB connector.
Is this a known problem with this product? If it is, is there any solution to it? If there's no way for me to fix it myself, what are my chances of this being covered by the manufacturer's warranty?

  • How do I set up a USB gaming headset

I am using venttrillo and skype. I have bought two seperate USB gaming headsets but neither of them work. I also have a PC and they will not work on that computer either.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong or do you have any suggestions as to what I can do to get the headset working?
    Thanks!

usb is a serial digital bus it does not carry audio
so the way the usb headset works is they are usb soundcards (sound cards which use a lot more cpu power then normal soundcard but soundcards all the same)
for usb soundcards to work one need a driver from the usb gaming headset maker
if they don't provide a driver and the generic usb audio chipset they likely use don't have a generic driver they can't work

  • Anyone using USB gaming headset w Windows 10 and Skype?

Use of Realtek microphones built into laptops (line in or the ones on the laptop screen bezel) is broken in Skype 7.7 and Windows 10.  There are tons of posts here complaining about low mic levels or mics not working at all after upgrading to Win 10 after drivers are updated. Bluetooth headsets seem to work. Maybe USB headsets do too? Anyone here using USB gaming headsets sucessfully w Skype?  I'd rather find out here before rushing out to buy one ... TIAAlokePS: the problems seem to be w Skype.  Other apps (like Google Hangouts, speech recognition) work w mics and Win 10 without any problems

I have about 10 laptops using a Realtek chipset that don't have issues in Windows 10.  Realtek like many chipset manufacturers make tons of models.    You can always run across a model or set of models that are buggy with their drivers.   You have the option of trying out their latest drivers or even forcing the Microsoft High Definition drivers in Windows 10.  Those solutions have solved some people's problems so I don't see how the issue is exactly created by Skype since alternate drivers work. I have tested the Xbox 360 wireless controller and headset port in Windows 10 and it didn't work properly with the whole OS without me updating to the generic drivers.  Everything I've personally noticed affected the whole OS and not just Skype. I also just tested my Creative Fatality analog headset with Logitech USB adpater and the USB version of the same headset.  Both worked just fine in Windows 10 and I heard myself strong and clear in the Skype echo test.

  • I'm using the note taking view of Word 2011 for Mac so I can record a meeting as well as take notes. The audio of the internal microphone is so low - can I attach an external mic and have it work with note taking view?

Can I attach an external mic to my Macbook Air to enhance sound input for the note taking view of Word 2011 for Mac? I've tried preferences to up the volume of my sound, but I still cannot hear the recording. Any suggestions? I need to record a meeting as well as take notes so I'd like to use this tool, but the audio is not good enough.

A USB microphone can work with the Air, and I've used them before with my 11" Air.  Griffin also made a product (the iMic) that will add a standard computer microphone port, connecting to your USB port.  It's heyday was the time of the old iBook laptops (which also lacked a microphone in jack) but I think it's still around.
The single sound port on the 2011 models, as I recall, supports iPhone style headphone/microphone but I don't believe it will support a standard microphone input.
The built in microphone sits on the left side of the computer and I suspect wouldn't work well for picking up a lecture unless you were sitting just right in position vs. the speaker (preferably having the speaker positioned to the left and sitting really close).  By design most laptop microphones presume they are going to be mainly used to record a sound coming from the person sitting at the keyboard, while for a lecture you normally would prefer it concentrate on sound coming from behind the screen.
