Is the "File Print Summarize Comments" feature accessible from a plugin?

Hi,
Can someone tell me how to produce the "connector line" PDFs ( File>>Print>>Summarize Comments>>Document and Comments with Connector Line... ) programmatically through a plugin? I've looked through the SDK (e.g. AVDocPrintPagesWithParams) but haven't found anything.

Yes, I just want to cover up all the pages for those particular area of document numbers.
Nothing sensitive about it. I just want to show the correct document numbers on all pages in print out.
So, I wanted to cover up by comments, but commenting on each page will be difficult. So, I wanted to comment the same on all pages.

I cannot print any kind of document using the File Print command on the tool bar of any application, but I can print using the printer icon. OS X 6.8 with HP Photosmart printer. Any thoughts?

When trying to print any kind of document on my wife's Mac Pro, the File>Print Command will not work. She just downloaded an update to Microsoft Office and the problem began after that, but it also applies to other non-Microsoft Applications. However, the print function does work when you use the printer icon in any of the applications. She has OS X 6.8 and an HP Photosmart printer. Thank you for any thoughts.

Did your wife also apply the Feb. 2 Security Update 2012-01 v. 1.0 from Apple? That update contains a bug which disables printing and some other functions in applications that were originally written for the PowerPC processor and which require Rosetta to run on Intel Macs. Fortunately, yesterday Apple released v. 1.1 of the update, which resolves the problem. Run Software Update again to install the revised update.

Right Click PDF print the file prints & closes Adobe stays open

This issue has been brought up in the past however there does not appear to be an adequate solution.
It appears it was introduced as far back as version 8, I am basing from what I read in posting.
When you right click a PDF to print Adobe opens the file prints the file closes however the Adobe Reader window stays open.

The right click print is not the only instance of this behavior.
When other programs are useed to call Adobe Reader to produce & print the PDF the Adobe Reader remains open.
It seems like a small thing but it is a large annoyance and I can't think of why it would be desired by anyone.
Adobe, please fix this.

If you have a postscript printer or rip which has the ability to create hot folders to link to the printer queues you could simply drag-n-drop and PDL (page description language) file like PDF, PS, EPS to that hot folder to initiate printing. Again, very dependent on your printer/rip device.

In addition to what Larry said, there is a number of levels you can try for general issues, described in the following list. 1) and 2) are the easy ones, 3) is the basic preference file (irreversible procedure), 4) is the whole preferences folder (reversible and more thorough, needed for some issues), 6) is the full ultimate solution, 5) can be skipped in this case.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file, and when it is not caused by issues with opening a file from external media, see below. You may have tried/done some of them already; 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save current artwork first, of course.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to at least 5 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible), for CS3 - CC you may find the folder here:

5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);

6) Uninstall (ticking the box to delete the preferences), run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

What app are you using to view PDF files? Preview can be a poor choice for some PDF files - I recommend using Adobe Reader - http://get.adobe.com/reader/ - perhaps it will solve your printing problem.

Apparently, security programs like Macafee and Norton view Itunes updates as new programs and block then from access. If you add Itunes to the list of exemptions, it solves the problem.

How do you change the FILE "print code" resulting printed font size?

I would like to adjust the "Print Code" resulting printed document font size. Though the changes can be made in display font for the Code window via a file or the Preferences Menu, I cannot find the style information to change the Print Code.

I would like the code print out font to be a smaller size. Currently, it ls printing at 12 pt Monaco ( I can emulate this exactly by printing the same document in an editor set as Monaco 12pt ). However, the settings (see below) are set at Monanco 9pt. This works on the screen, but not for printing.

Yet the code:print gives me more characters per line, resulting in many more pages per printout. The "print preview" shown in my last message is exactly what the printed page looks like as well.
NOTE: with the same settings ("smallest Monaco 9pt), Dreamweaver CS3 on OSX *does* code:print the smaller size, though without color coding. Dreamweaver CS 5 on my system does not.

Okay, that was a long title. Sorry about that.
Longer version now. The font Janson Text is an old Type 1 Postscript font. If I make a new document in InDesign CC2014, this font is completely available to me. HOWEVER, if I open a legacy file that uses this same font, it shows up with the usual pink highlighting.
I know the font is available to InDesign, because I made a new test document and set type with it.
If I try using the Type > Find Font.. option to replace the 'missing' typefaces, InDesign won't let me, not recognizing the font that I just used in the new test document.
I just tried exporting the defective file as an IDML file, then opening the IDML file. The font is now working properly.
This is a real problem, as the file I'm trying to open is a book that we need to reprint. I now have to go through it page by page to see if any linebreaks have changed.
WHAT CAUSES THIS, please?

There is one way its getting fixed. Once I update my Adobe Illustrator CC to Adobe Illustrator CC 2014 it is further allowing me to go into the system folder and allocate the font to the file so that it can replace it. My only concern now is that our MAC partners who will receive these files back from us have Adobe CS6. We will down save it to CS6 but I hope they won't experience any font issues because of us using CC 2014? Any light you can shed on this?

Why is the file printing 20 percent smaller?

I'm on a Power Mac, Yosemite, Photoshop CC 2014, printing to a Canon inkjet; size of paper is 13x19" borderless printing but all of a sudden the image is reducing 20 percent. I checked in the print box and scale to fit is not checked. There is no bleed. I need it to print 100 percent.

Printer works in some apps; turns out it also is not printing properly in InDesign either. It is not responding to changes in the percent size changes nor fit to size. Contacted Canon and they are not supporting Yosemite for the model printer I have. Directed me to a couple of 3rd party options. I'll have to see if that works or I have a lot of paper and ink on my hands unless I go back to the last Mac OS. AAUUGGHHH!!!

Using the file protocol to read a URL from a DataSocket Link (DSL) file

Hey people,
The text of the message subject is almost directly lifted from the
LabVIEW help file. I'm currently a DataSocket server for communication
between a laptop and a Compact FieldPoint unit. My application is
currently functioning, but I'm searching for a way to easily change the
IP of the server without having to recompile the VI into a startup.exe
file.
The help file says it is possible to create a file (.dsl extension)
which contains the URL of the server, with the following format:-
[InternetShortcut]
URL=dstp://servername.com/tag
I have created such a file, but the help file refers to reading the URL
from the DSL file directly, which I'm not sure how to do. The examples
use hard-coded strings as their reference URLs, so no help there, and
as far as I can see the question has not been raised before on these
boards.
I am aware that I could probably use the File Open vis and manually
read the information contained within the file, but then it wouldn't
make sense to rename it to .dsl or to have any other text other than
the URL contained within.

There is actually a great example on using .dsl files with DataSocket. You can append "file:" to the beginning of the path of your .dsl file, and wire it directly into the "connection in" pin of the DS Read.
