Is the firewire port working on an Audigy with EEPROM b

I have a SB Audigy with the EEPROM bug. I am using the kx drivers, so the card is working. I am currently thinking about buying an firewire device, and I wonder if the Audigy with the EEPROM bug running kx drivers has the firewire port working. (I dont have any firewire device right now to test it).

nope tried windows movie maker and nerovision
both can control the dv camera (Samsung)
it is detected by windows and gets installed
when try to capture nothing on screen in preview and nothing recorded just keep getting error about it.
tried running the dvconnect but that ain't don't anything either
i know the camera works as my wife uses it on her pc but she don't have the audigy card (using built in)
I've tried it the back slot and using the add-on connector and both the same
checked the info on the card and it says Audigy SB394 - SB0090

  • Is there a way to back up my iphone 5 without the charging port working?

is there a way to back up my iphone 5 without the charging port working?

In iTunes with the iPhone connected: set Snyc via WiFi.
Then plug the cord in the charger.
In iTunes your iPhone icon is still visible, click it while holding the CTRL key: then choose "backup".

  • My MacBook Pro can't find the FireWire port

My MacBook Pro (OSX 10.6.8) can not find the FireWire port. Until now there hasn't been any problems using the FireWire, but now it just deny any knowledge of it, so to speak.
The audio device lights up when I connect it to the MBP (yes, I did connect it when in off-mode), so it seems to work in a way.
Does anyone recognize this problem and knows how to solve it?

Have you tried following through the trouble shooting tips in this knowledge base article on Firewire?

  • Imac G5 won't start with Isight plugged into the firewire port.

I went to turn on my Imac today and it wouldn't start. After checking all the usual culprits (power strip, outlet and power chord) which were not the problem, I proceeded by unplugging all the external devices from the back ports. After unplugging the computer for a few seconds and plugging it back in (which I read resets any power issues), it turned back on. I plugged my Isight camera back in and turned it on and the computer suddenly shut off. I reproduced this quite a few times and it did the same thing. It won't even turn on if any device is plugged into the firewire port. Does anyone have a clue of what this conflict could be or experienced anything similar.
I would greatly appreciate any input.
    Thanks in advance,
    Daniel

Welcome to Discussions - try resetting your PRAM, if that doesn't work, I'm afraid there is something wrong with your logic board, where the firewire bus is located. The best thing to do would be to take it in for servicing.

  • Can I run an HDMI monitor from the Firewire port of my MBP?

This may be a strange one
I am running a late 2011 17" MBP running Mavericks (latest version as of July 2014).
Currently I have a 4TB external thunderbolt drive attached. There is no thru port.
My challenge is, I want to connect an external HDMI monitor, but this MBP only has the one Thunderbolt port, being used by the external drive.
My hope is, that somehow, I might be able to MacGyver  something using the Firewire port since I cannot afford another monitor with a TB through at the moment....Technically the cabling would be possible, albeit a bit freakish.
    Something like:
Firewire cable out from MBP, plugged into a FW to Thunderbolt converter, thunderbolt converter tip plugged into a MiniDisplayPort to HDMI converter box (like the Monoprice  MMP-MDP2H01), then from there to the HDMI monitor.
Would the MBP detect the monitor and route the video signal through the FW port accordingly?
Looking forward to some expert advice and any zany workaround suggestions you all might have!
    Respect.

The MDP to HDMI will work fine.

  • My firewire port works with ext hd but not with audio interface

2010 Imac 21.5 running 10.8.5. My firewire port works with ext hd but not with audio interface. The local authorized Apple tech said that I need a new motherboard, but my firewire ext drive works perfectly. I don't understand. Thanks.

You must go to the website of the audio interface manufacturer and look for, download and install updated drivers for the audio device you are using.
This is not, neccessarily, an Apple issue.

  • My macbook does not have a firewire port. Is there any kind of adapter that will allow me to use my advc 300 (which need to plug in to the FireWire port)?

My macbook does not have a firewire port. Is there any kind of adapter that will allow me to use my advc 300 (which need to plug in to the FireWire port)?

Firewire, USB and the recent thunderbolt use completely different protocols, therefore there are no adapters for mutually adapting them, just a computer, which allows connecting them, and will work as an interface. For example, if you have an external disk in an enclosure with only FW connection and another one with USB connection, just your mac, having both, allows their interconnectivity.
If your mac does not have FW (the brief alu MB series, Air) you cannot connect a FW device, if only FW port is there.

  • Only 1 firewire port working on every dock's I have

    Hello,
I spent 1 entire day trying to find a solution for this problem and..nothing.
I read foruns, discussions everything. Tried a lot of solutions.
    I have 2 docks:
    - 1 go flex desk firewire 800
    - 1 Icy Box dock fireiwire 800
    Both have 2 firewire ports.
In both of them, only 1 firewire port works. Both docks have 1 firewire port not working.
This means that if I want to copy files from one hard drive to the other by firewire... its not possible!!
Anyone here have this problem and found a solution??
I am really getting crazy with this. I don't believe both of the docks are faulty...maybe they are but after everything I readed here I believe it's probably a macbook problem.
    I have mackbook pro i7 15" 2011.
Oh, I should say that this worked before... some weeks ago this was working and I have no idea why only one firewire port works now...
Any other solution I should try? Already tried all that pram a smc resets...

I also receive text notifications from her on my iPad.
On my Mac, I have messaging shut down

  • Does the HDMI port work on the Cisco set top box?

I just bought a new tv (LG model 24MA31D) and the Verizon tech hooked up the FIOS set top box to it using the composite cables that came with it. The tv only has one set of ports for the 5 cables. To use my Wii I have to either trade out all the cables each time or use a 4-device component video selector I bought at Best Buy. The guy at BB said if the set top box has an HDMI port then I can just connect it to the tv with an HDMI cable and leave the Wii connected via cables.
I've seen some discussion on here that the HDMI doesn't really work on the set top box.  Is this true? Sure would be nice to have fewer cables and one less electronic device. Thanks in advance for your help!

You didn't tell us which model of Cisco STB you have; however chances are very good that the HDMI port works and works well.
Don't by HDMI cables at Best Buy.  You can find them online for 1/10th the price.  No need to pay for gold plating, all it does is gold plate some rich guy's pocket.
Buy a HDMI cable or three and don't look back.
    Good Luck.

  • Does the ethernet port work when the using airport express in client mode?

I am considering using an airport express to extend my existing wireless network to a room where I can't get a cable to.
I will need to connect a at least 3 devices to the airport express.
    The questions are:
    - is an airport express the right answer to this problem?
    - if so, does the ethernet port work (AE on client mode) as a passthru into the main network?
    - can I plug a hub to it?
    Thanks

    Hi Tesserax,
Really appreciate you taking time to respond.
I stopped by the Apple store this weekend and one of their sales people ( not one of their genius bar people) told me NO to all questions.  I tend to believe more answers from people in this forum but just realize that I have not mentioned one possibly important point:
the main AP to which I will be connecting the airport express is not an Airport Extreme/Express AP.
    Thanks,
    Ricardo.

  • I cannot hear any songs or movies from my laptop speakers - the headphone port works and a red light is showing? The output sound settings are showing as digital optical only? Any ideas :)

I cannot hear any songs or movies from my laptop speakers - the headphone port works and a red light is showing from the port? The output sound settings are showing as digital optical only? I used the headphones in the laptop for the first time yesterday and have had this problem ever since. Any ideas

The internal switch in the audio output port is stuck.  Try inserting the earphone plug a few times.  If no success, try jiggling a tooth pick inside in order to trip the switch.. If still no success, have the technicians at the Apple store genius bar do it for you.
    Ciao.

  • Thinkpad W530: None of the USB ports work when used with a 4338-35U replicator

I have tried mouse. keyboard and a generic USB stick with a LED. None of the USB ports work on the replicator. Everything works fine when connected directly to the W530. The replicator ports must not have power because the LED doesn't come on.

  • Question - How does the Priority feature of the Send Port work?

How does the Priority feature of the Send Port work?

The Priority setting of the Transport Advanced Options controls the order in which messages are removed from the messageBox. Ports with higher priority will be processed earlier than the ports with lower prioirty making the higher priority ports more important
relative to other send ports within a single host.
    Refer:
    Send Port Priority
The highest prioirty is 1, and the lowest is 10. The default value is 5.

  • Disabling the Firewire Port

Okay, so long story short, I got some Axe Bodywash got stuck in my Firewire port. This is causing electricity to "boil" the shampoo in the firewire port, causing smoke and a horrendous smell to come out of the port. It's already completely useless now, but I keep getting notifications saying that my Firewire Port has been disabled. Now, it's turning off and on again because I keep getting these notifications. How can I permentantly disable the function of the port for safety purposes and since it's draining battery at a much faster, noticable rate?

I would opt for getting the port professionally cleaned. Take it into a Apple Store.
