Is the iPhone 3G supposed to dim or shut of display when phone in use?
Hi,
I had heard that there was a sensor on the 3G that senses when the iPhone is up to your face when in use and will shut off the display to say the battery. Mine does not do this... is there somewhere I have to go to enable this feature... or is the 3G phone not supposed to do this?
The iPhone includes a proximity sensor for when on a call only. This is to prevent accidentally hitting a button on the screen when the iPhone is near your face during a call.
The iPhone includes an automatic lock setting to turn the screen off after a designate period of inactivity, but this setting has nothing to do with the proximity sensor used during a call.

Is the iPhone alarm supposed to sync with iwatch? I can't get any alarm notifications from my iPhone to my watch. Do I have to just set up whole new alarms specifically in my watch?
Yes, they should sync. Check the Watch app on the iPhone and look at Calendar - make sure it's set to Mirror my phone
If it still doesn't work, reset the Watch, restart the phone and re-pair the Watch - fixes a few glitches -
My iphone is not working, i was planning on getting the iphone 5s for christmas, but i do not have my phone backed up on itunes. On my screen are these blue lines across on my screen, and i cant see anthing and i do not know what to do. I want to back up my phone but i cant see my screen to back it up. I need help badly. Thanks apple hope you can help me in this matter.
You wouldn't need to see the screen to backup unless you have a passcode on the device. Is that the case? You should be able to plug the device into the computer with iTunes and just select backup now.

I have the iphone 4 and PC with Windows Vista Basic. When I bought my iPhone syncs with iTunes on my computer, but now when I try to sync it tells me that Mobile Device Service was closed and I can not synchronize the phone. Try restarting Mobile Device Service and uninstall and reinstall Itunes but still giving me the same error.

Can i use the iPhone-power adapter to charge my iPad 2??, Can i use the iPhone-power adapter to charge my iPad 2??
I don't know about that for sure, but my guess is that it won't matter. Battery technology today is much better. You should follow Apples battery tips here:

trying to active my old iPhone 3gs. it showing that activation server is temporary unavailable and on the iTunes showing that there is no sim card installed in the iPhone you are attempting to activate. I unlocked my phone then i upgrade it, after that this happen. i tried with other sim same message come again and again.if any body know solution let me know. thanks
Was the SIM card activated on another phone? I assume this is an ATT style trying to use on T-Mobile? Was the SIM installed correctly? Is the carrier (like T-Mobile) operating IOS 6 devices yet?
If the SIM is a valid SIM from say T-Mobile, you may want to contact them for assistance activating the SIM card.
Activation and SIM issues typically point to the carrier. And if this was a CDMA phone say working with verizon, it will NOT work for ATT or T-Mobile as they use different electronics on the 3GS. The SIM slot is for international use only. -
Hi I have iPhone 4 with iOS 6 and a week ago I stop ressiv or send SMS. I tried everything but I still can't send.. I erase the version and all the data on the iPhone and now I can send SMS. But when I'm downloading my buck up the problem happened again
Please help me cuse I don't know what to do and my cellular company don't have an answer
Thank uI have to ad that its not an easy problem I did all the action in the book.
It's something with my back up -
I got a blacklisted iphone 5 from att and I reset it and now when I try to set it up it needs a sim card so I went to the att store and they put a sim in and on the iPhone it says replacement needed couldn't complete activation.i just want use it as a ipod
To use it as an iPod it must be activated...to do that it has to accept a sim. A blacklisted iPhone cannot do that. Take it back to AT and T where you got it and get your money back.

Check out the Power/Battery section of the iPhone hardware troubleshooting guide below. If it continues after that you may need to restore the iPhone and test it as a new device.

My iPod Touch keeps displaying the message 'This accessory not supported by iPod touch.' When I've used it w/this device multiple times, it's happening more and more frequently now. Anyway to dismiss this message for good? Because the iPod still plays thru my radio and system.
That message is usually due to a bad cable.

What is the difference between saving to "Documents" and "Macintosh HD" and when should you use each one?
When you save to the folder with the little house icon, the file is placed at
/Users/your_user_name/
You would really have to go out of my way to save at:
(the shortcut for the Boot Drive, regardless of its name).
I am not sure how you decided that Time Machine is not saving your files. The default is for Time Machine to do incremental Backups of everything on all attached drives, except for certain temporary information in Cache files. If you have four Users, Time Machine will back them all up.
Looking at the raw Time Machine backups will tell you very little, because it does lots of its work with Hard Links, and because it does incremental backups, so only files that changed since the last Backup are saved at thet cycle. The way to determine whether Time Machine is saving things is to display the window you care about in the Finder, then invoke the "Star wars"/ "Back, back, back in time" Interface. -
Is the iPhone app supposed to allow background auto uploads?
The auto-upload feature is working for me only when the app is open. Is it supposed to also run in the background, like Dropbox? I'm using Revel on an iPhone 5S with iOS 7. Thanks.
Hi there,
This may be a case of your cellular settings on the iPhone and what you have in Revel.
In the Revel settings, the auto import option can be given access to use cellular data or not to when trying to sync when you minimize the app. We define background upload and download as when the app is running but it isn't the screen you are looking at on your iOS device.
If you are looking at the app with it open in the foreground we will upload via cellular, regardless of the setting. That cellular setting is only applicable to background upload/download, not foreground upload/download when the app is open. The feature setting above only limits use of cellular when the app is minimized. It is assumed if you open the app and ask it to upload, that using cellular is ok.
If, however, you have the iOS7 Settings>Cellular >Use Cellular Data option turned off for Revel and are not connected to WiFi, we should be giving a connection error in Revel when you try to upload in the foreground or background. There should be no syncing since you have turned off all cellular connectivity for Revel.
If you have turned that iOS7 Setting on (Revel CAN use cell data) when you have Revel in the foreground we will use cellular data.
If you believe that your devices are not responding as indicated above, please let me know.
Kind regards,

Isn't the iPhone 3GS supposed to have GPS?
I just upgraded to an iPhone 3GS from and original iPhone. One of the features that most excited me was having real GPS, but it seems that this feature is not completely true. I have been doing some tests, outdoors with a clear view of the sky and my new iPhone 3GS is as inaccurate as my original iPhone, which does not have GPS and relies on cellular antennas to find my location.
Is it normal for the iPhone 3GS to be so inaccurate or might it be that my phone has a malfunction?
Thanks,
CesarIt does indeed have GPS.
It may take several minutes to get a GPS fix. In the meantime it will use the same technology as the original iphone to get a cursory location.
