Energizer markets one that they say works with iPhone 3 and 3GS. 4 can't be far behind.

  • HT4913 If the music library on my iPhone will be deleted when I enable iTunes Match, does that mean that I will not be able to access that music library when I temporarily turn off iTunes Match on the iPhone, e.g., when on the subway & can't connect to Ma

I have subscribed to iTunes Match and have employed it to listen to music on my Macbook Air and iMac.  On these devices it seems to operate by streaming music to the device rather than deleting the device's current iTunes library and downloading songs as they are played from iTunes Match. Not so on the iPhone as far as I can tell. Consequently, to date I have not activated iTunes Match on my iPhone 4S.  I presently have 40-50GB's of music on my iPhone, sync'd from my iTunes music library on my Macbook Air.  I am concerned that if I enable iTunes Match on my iPhone I will lose the music library already on my iPhone, as Apple seems to be representing that once iTunes Match is enabled on the iPhone the current music library, carefully compiled, will be gone from the iPhone forever (unless I later re-sync it from the iTunes library on my laptop), that it will be deleted.  Although this would free up a lot of space on my iPhone, I bought the 64GB phone just so that I could keep a lot of music on it and accessible at all times.  I am concerned that in certain instances, say if I am in the subway and want to listen to music on my iPhone but  don't have internet access below ground, that I won't have much music to listen to, only those songs previously played and thus downloaded onto the phone from iMatch, presenting me witrh a rather limited choice of music to play instead of the 40-50GB's I now have to choose from. Apple seems to have presented me with the choice of the lesser of 2 evils: i) enable iTunes Match and lose the music library already on the iPhone in exchange for access to iTunes Match and a greater number of songs than I can fit onto the phone (my library exceeds the phone's capacity) when a Cloud connection is available or ii) don't enable iTunes match and limit myself to only those songs, a considerable portion of my library to be sure but not all of it, that I can fit in the phone's storage space, i.e., the 40-50 GB's I have on there now.  If I choose the latter course, each time I purchase an album I'll have to delete another album to make room for it on the phone.  Apple thus offers me a sort of Hobson's choice, bad all the way around.  Do I have this right? The Apple techs I've spoken to don't seem to have a handle on the "deletion" aspect of enabling iTunes Match on the iPhone.   Right now, I'm too scared of "losing" my iPhone music library to enable iTunes Match on the iPhone. [Possible work-around, albeit a pain in the ***: I suppose that I can enable iTunes Match on the iPhone and spend the next couple of weeks 24/7 downloading songs from my iTunes Match library back onto the phone to replace at least some of those deleted when Match was enabled, thereby rebuilding a proxy library on the phone itself to play when I'm stuck in a tunnel between Brooklyn and Manhattan while maintaining access to thee larger iTunes Match library, more music than my phone will hold, once we come back into the light and my Cloud connection is restored.] Comments, suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you.

  • After downloading a book to the Iphone it did not show up on the IPad, although both are enabled.  I can locate both devises using the same Apple ID.  Is WiFi necessary to synchronize books through the iCloud?

If both the iphone and ipad are locatable with the same apple id, should I expect the books purchased on one will appear in the book shelf of the other?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
In order to make a purchase from one device download to another, you need to enable automatic downloads on that device at settings > store.

  • What files do I need to download iPhone photos to a thin client (HP)? Apple Mobile Support gives 4 dll files to enable the iPhone to be detected and charged but the thin client doesn't see the camera or hard drive.

The iTunes Installation files include 4 driver dlls that I can install on a Windows thin client to enable the iPhone to be charged.
The iPhone hard drive or photos are not detected.  I guess I need scanner driver support to cope with the camera.
Can anyone tell me which files from the iTune installation set are needed.
It is not practical (or even possible?) to install the whole iTunes package.
I've seen this question asked by a lot of people but never seen an answer.
    Please, can someone help...

    Thanks for the reply.
A thin client is used to connect to a Terminal Server, or in my customer's case, a Citrix Server.  I need the thin client to see the iPhone as a camera and pass it to the Citrix Client so the photos can THEN be either stored on a network storage device, or e-mailed.
Because the thin client doesn't even SEE a camera (i.e. the iPhone) it won't be able to connect to iCloud to do anything useful.
I think the question I should be asking, is how do I give the thin client Camera Support.
I've just seen a 2008 forum comment that said the iPhone DOESN'T handle photos through iTunes, but the PC (Scanner support) or MAC (iPhoto) handles them directly.  I should be putting the question to HP.
This is still a good place for THIS question, because I've seen so many iPhone users asking it...
If I get a satisfactory answer I'll post it back here.

  • Does the iPhone 6  support use of bluetooth enabled mouse?

Does the iPhone 6  support use of bluetooth enabled mouse?

I'd really like to think so as well, who's using a tempered glass for the screen an a similar film/glass for the backplate that can shed some realistic light on this query? help is much appreciated.
people tend to get a bit hysterical when they see my uncased 4s, and yet after 2.5 it is still in better shape than everyone else's.....so if that's gonna be the case with the 6 plus I'll be satisfied.
I understand the 6 (and 6 plus) have a cureved screen and that most glass protectors are a bit dorky and dont go all the way to the end. would ones that go all the way be more fragile and by that endanger the screen or is full coverage better? is there a suggested tempered glass protector for the 6 plus?

  • Why is the iPhone enabled on only one computer?

I have an iMac and a MacBook. A recent formatting and reinstallation of OS X plus all Applications, Settings and other supporting data on the MacBook (from the iMac) now has the two systems virtually identical.
Question 1: Why is it that the iPhone can only be enabled (paired, connected, whatever) with only one of these two computers? (Yes, I know about Mobile Me, but don't want to use the service.) Assuming the iMac is my primary connection to the iPhone, what happens if I'm on a two-week trip and the iPhone goes bonkers?
Question 2: Will I be wise just starting everything using the laptop? Problem there is that the laptop is not my everyday go-to computer.
This will be my first iPhone. Thanks in advance for your insight and suggestions.

Another thought is to enable iTunes Home Networking; this would essentially keep your iTunes library on both computers, synced via your home LAN or WLAN. If you have to restore while traveling you could then restore your music from your laptop, even though it would normally sync to your iMac.
Good idea except that I'm not all that technical. I've an Airport Express, but that's it when it comes to what I know about. I could Firewire a connection and use Migration Assistant, but that doesn't offer the opportunity to sync just iTunes. Any ideas or step-by-step instructions? Thanks.

  • How do I enable playback of music without intermission on the iPhone?

How do I enable playback of music without intermission on the iPhone?

Doing so on a 3G iPhone "can" take several hours. So, plug your phone into a wall outlet, then Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. When finished, your phone should look just like it did when first taken out of the box, with nothing but the OS on it. Conversely, you can connect it to iTunes & restore it as a "New" device. Just don't sync after you restore as new.

  • The iPhone G3 is not a WML enabled device

I tried to get my boarding pass by "Mobile check-in" for a flight with AirCanada as I used to do with my Treo and I got a message that the iPhone is not a WML enabled device. Is there a way to modify the settings to allow the iPhone to allow mobile check-in?

Is there a question here somewhere? What part of that message is unclear to you?

i lost my iphone 4 last night and its not reachable assuming someone took out the sim.. so can i or my network company track the iphone which is not reachable through assuming location services and find my phone apps are enabled?

No. Find My Phone is the only way to locate any lost iPhone. However, this requires that Find My Phone be turned on/activated before the phone was lost, and the phone must have an Internet connection. If your phone is turned off, does not have an Internet connection, or has been restored, there is no way to locate it.

  • Hi Apple friends, my question is regarding, the last iOS 6.1 upgrade, why it include the LTE 4G to the iPad4 and iPad Mini with Telcel in Mexcio, and Why it was not for the iPhone 5?, when Apple will enable this feature LTE 4G on the Iphone5 to Telcel?

And Apple won't tell you. All they will tell you is what countries are supported for LTE right now. You can express your interest to Apple via their feedback pages, if you wish:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
but you will not receive a reply. It may be waiting on Telcel to approve. They may not feel that their LTE network is robust enough to handle that much load yet. But I'm just guessing. We'll just have to wait and see what develops.

  • My iPhone 5s won't let me set up my fingerprint for touch id as it is not enabling the iphone unlock / itunes

    plz help me

    Hello umair221,
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you have a fingerprint setup with Touch ID but it is not unlocking the iPhone or is able to be used for iTunes purchases.
Those are settings that can individually be enabled or disabled.
(Note you won't have Apple Pay on an iPhone 5s.)
For further troubleshooting, please see the article that came from:
Use Touch ID on iPhone and iPad - Apple Support
    Get help with Touch ID
Make sure that you're using the latest version of iOS.
Make sure that your fingers and the Home button are clean and dry.*
Cover the Home button completely. Don't tap too quickly, don't press down hard, and don't move your finger while Touch ID is scanning. Make sure that your finger touches the metal ring around the Home button.
If you're using a case or screen protector, make sure it doesn't cover the Home button or the surrounding ring. If it does, remove the case or screen protector and try again.
Tap Settings > Touch ID & Passcode and make sure that iPhone Unlock or iTunes & App Store is on. Also make sure that you've enrolled one or more fingerprints.
    Try enrolling a different finger.
If you can't enroll any of your fingers, take your device to an Apple Retail Store, Apple Authorized Service Provider, or contact AppleCare for help.
    * Moisture, lotions, sweat, oils, cuts, or dry skin might affect fingerprint recognition. Certain activities can also temporarily affect fingerprint recognition, including exercising, showering, swimming, cooking, or other conditions or changes that affect your fingerprint.
    Take care,
    Nubz

I have enabled iTunes and App Store fingerprint authentication on the iPhone 5s.  However I still receive a prompt for my Apple ID password vs my Fingerprint.  Any way to resolve this?

Ok thanks - that explains it:
    From the Apple article: "
Note: Touch ID cannot be used for purchases if Require Password in Settings > General > Restrictions is set to Immediately."
Not sure why - but clearly intentional.

  • Is there any way to enable rSAP, use the iPhone as a modem, create sms folders, and show the day's calender on the home screen?

    Hi folks
Had iPhone for a while and generally happy, but it seems I still need to keep my old nokia E72 because I cannot seem to use the iPhone as a modem, nor does it support rSAP.
Also, while I like the threaded sms view, I'd also like the option to create sms folders to stash away my banking sms info, all of which comes from different numbers, and filled the sms inbox with hundreds of messages.
Lastly, having the meeting for the day diplayed somewhere on the home screen would be great if there were a way to do it. Yes, I can go into calender easy enough, but unless I develop the habit of checking it all the time, I often forget about a meeting whereas on the old nokia, it was always displayed.
What gives with the lack of flash support? Maybe ol Steve dislikes adobe, but it seems like a serious lack to me. Even the old nokia has some flash support.
Given that, I must say I love the seperate calenders and contacts. It's great to be able to keep home contacts seperate from work ones, but still have them on the same phone. Email is great two - full html support seems like a given but it works really well.

rSAP has largely been supplanted by ABAP, which the iPhone supports. Most modern smartphones, including the iPhone do NOT store any information on the SIM.
SMS inboxes. Not much to say. I've never had a desire to do this. I understand it could be useful, but it's unlikely to change.
As for meetings on the home screen... Wait for iOS 5
Flash: it's not JUST that Steve doesn't like flash. Adobe has failed to produce a workable version of Flash for iOS. Blame has to go to both sides.  I say good riddance to it.
