No, none of the iPods have Bluetooth.
You do realize they quit making/selling iPod Minis in September of last year?

No. Apps are only compatible with the iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad.

  • Does the iPod Mini Work with Windows?

I am thinking of buying an iPod mini but I don't have an Apple computer. Does the iPod mini work with Windows efficiently? Thanks....

    Hello Ian,
Can you be really specific about the necessary Windows XP updates needed? I run XP Pro on a rather new computer and just got an IPOD mini. I'm ready to tear my hair out because iTunes seems to crash my computer every time I change one CD for another. iTunes runs REALLY, REALLY slow for me. Also read on the board that iTunes 6.0 and the mini don't work well together. True or not true?
    Thanks - Genevieve

  • Does anybody know where i can download the IPOD MINI SOFTWARE

i recently bought an ipod mini off my friend but he gave me no cd with the ipod mini software. i dont need the itunes software i have that but i dont know where i can download the ipod mini software, any help will be amazing helpful and welcome, thanks

Yes it could be. You should perhaps restore it using the updater from the link I gave you.
Install this to your computer, restart the computer, run the Updater, then connect your iPod when prompted (not before), then choose restore.
This will return the iPod to factory settings, erase the hard drive, reload the software and ensure the iPod is Windows formatted.
Then you should be good to go.

  • Why Isn't The Ipod Mini Not Under Ipod On The Internet

I am trying to find accessories for my ipod mini but when i click on the ipod+itunes button it doesn't show ipod mini where should i got to????? It's really making me angry

Click here to see the iPod mini accessories page. If you want to follow any of the links on that page, you will need to delete everything before the second http to use them properly. The original page was removed when Apple discontinued selling the iPod mini.

  • Formatting the iPod Mini

I'm trying to get this thing working with Win XP Home Edition and overall I guess I succeeding. After numerous resets and install/uninstall/install actions I finally got something different. Win XP is asking if I want to format the iPod Mini. I'm not certain what the consequences are if I do this. Right now I get all menus on the iPod but not able to see it in iTunes nor able to import music onto the device.
If I format then what happens to all the menus and available actions? Do I need to re-install the iPod software?
    Greatly appreciate any help.

Formatting the iPod via Windows is normally used in troubleshooting situations, and after that you would have to restore it using the iPod updater in any event.

  • Does the iPod Touch Bluetooth require wifi connection?

I have an iPod Touch 3rd generation and plan to upgrade to the 4 this winter but if the Bluetooth does require wifi I'll probably choose the iPhone. The reason I ask is because I want to get these Bluetooth earbuds since I'm sick of the wire. But, if the iPod Touch BlueTooth can't work while I'm out then what's the point in staying with just the iPod? I prefer having just the iPod but I am seriously that sick of the wire that I'd get the iPhone.

BT will work fine without wifi.

  • Av Component Cable with the iPod Mini?

My son bought me the AV Component Cable for my Mini to link only the audio with my RCA inputs of my preamp. I couldn't find anything in Apple Support that says I can do this, and I talked with an Apple tech rep who didn't know but thought by referring to the specs for the Mini that it is NOT compatible. Now granted, I could just open the box and find out, but I thought I 'd ask to see if anyone has tried to use this cable for this purpose and succeeded or failed.
    Any takers?

AV Component Cable - I need to know more details about this cable.
But if it came with an iPod dock (the dock that allow you to place your iPod mini with it), what you need to do is to connect the AV component cable between the dock and your preamp as follow:-
1.The jack of the dock (in red colour) -> AV component Cable -> Audio in (or CD/Tuner) of your Preamp (in red colour of Right Channel)
    2. The jack of the dock (in white or black colour) -> AV component Cable -> Audio in (or CD/Tuner) of your Preamp (in white or black colour or Left Channel)
In case it did not come with the dock then what you need to do is either :-
    A. Plug your cable with the dock of your iPod Mini (the buttom of your iPod) or,
    B. Plug your cable with the headphone jack of your iPod Mini
Then connect to other end of your cable with your Preamp (Audio in)..

  • How to have more than one playlist on the iPOD mini ...?

This may seem a silly question - after all, isn't it the whole point of the iPOD ? Anyway, with my current setup, I cannot get more than one playlist onto my ipod mini.
Using Win2000Pro, connecting using USB; there have been lots of other issues involving ' cannot read/write to ipod ' which have been reported on these forums , I started having problems after Apple 'upgraded' iTunes from 4.9 ...ended up with nothing on the ipod at all. Since then a few upgrades and now running iTunes 6.0 (not 6.0.1), it DOES sync with the ipod but does not let me manage the playlists:
Since my library is > the ipod ( 4 GB model) I cannot use the option ' sync all songs & playlists' , which is what I originally used when the library was < the ipod. At that point I did get ( automatically I think..) a few playlists onto the ipod.
Howeever, since the library got too big, I have to select 'sync to these playlists only' . I use 1 master list, which works, ( it syncs all the songs to the ipod and I get just that playlist on the 'pod) but any attempt to select another playlist from that dialogue box results in consistent hanging of iTunes, and you have to kikll it in task manager.
I would have thought that you could simply drag n drop a playlist onto the connected ipod icon (that would be more elegant) but the inteface doesn't allow it..
Oh and another thing ..why does the syncing tool delete ones on the go playlists from the pod ? I can't even get around this issue by making them manually on the 'pod as they get deleted when syncing.. Grrrrhhh
Where to go from here guys & gals ??
    Thanks...any tips gratefully received
Aries/ AMD Windows 2000 Draytek Wireless DSL 2 Mb

Ok I'll try that, although I did try it earlier when I had iTunes 5.xx loaded, I think.
As to size of playlists, I have a master (900 songs) that defines what will fit onto the ipod , I then generate all the others as subsets of the master (not of the library)- hence I know they will all fit
Can you also clarify something for me: the dialogue box we are discussing is intended, I think, so that one can set the automatic synching of certain playlists between the PC & the ipod. Is that the only way one can select other playlists to go to the ipod - i.e. as static once-offs, not synchronised ?
Apple' docs, I think, are poor in this regard - they assume most ipods are bigger then the users song library and they gloss over the details of this alternate mode of playlist synching.
    Thanks - Nick

  • What steps do I need to take for the iPod mini to remember the last song?

What steps to I have to take for my iPod mini to remember the last song that I played from an album when I turn it on again, after I have turned it off.
Whenever I turn my iPod mini off, it seems to go back to the main menue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Depends on how long you are leaving it turned off. If it's more than enough time for the iPod to go into deep sleep, then when next you turn it on, it restarts with the Apple logo and returns to the main menu.
If it's only for a few hours that you leave it turned off, then the iPod should resume from the point at which you left it.
I don't know for sure whether the "remember playback position" in iTunes works after the iPod has been in deep sleep.

  • What docking stations work with the ipod mini gen 2?

Looking to get a docking station for my ipod mini gen 2.  Are there any out there that are known to work?

Well, I don't have any specific recommendations, since I've never used them myself.  There are so many choices, just make sure the specs say it works with your older iPod model.
If you get a "plain" dock (like that Universal Dock), or an older version (no remote control) for cheap on eBay, it's not just for connecting to computers.  It has a audio output jack (that gets a high quality line out signal from the iPod's dock connector).  You can connect that to your stereo system's auxilliary input, or to any powered speakers (the type people connect to computers).  For power, connect the docking cable to a USB power adapter instead of a computer's USB port.
And you can connect it to your computer too.  Plus, if the speakers go bad (or you want better ones), you don't have to throw the whole gadget away.  Just get new speakers, keep the dock.

  • Turning the iPod Mini OFF

Using the click wheel, I can pause easily but turning the iPod off is really difficult. I don't know whether I'm holding the Pause button down too long, not long enough or if there's an easier way.
It seems when I turn my iPod off the battery lasts longer than when I pause it and it falls into a deep sleep.
What can I do to make it easier to turn my iPod off?

    Hi Sparklefufu;
I was having problems shutting down my iPod Mini. Then it got itself into a state where it needed to be reset it. I wasn't able to get reset to work. I brought to the Apple store and they reset it. They then asked me to reset it. It appears I was applying too much pressure. When I applied only enough pressure to make the switch click it worked. Now the shut down is working for me every time.

  • Prob;ems with the hold on the ipod mini

I bought my sister a mini ipod. she is having problems with it now. whenever she turns off the mini ipod, puts it on hold, after a minute or less than a minute sometimes, the ipod just turns own even if it was already shut off and put on hod. Whenever this happens she can press the buttons and control the ipod even if it is on hold. how can i fix this for her?

This is an iPod mini, not the iPod nano in your profile info?
If you have not already, try doing a reset
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1320
This restarts the iPod.  It is not erased.
If that does not help, the next thing to try would be a Restore (as long as the iPod is still recognized by iTunes when connected.  The Restore button is in the iPod's Summary screen in iTunes.  This DOES erase the iPod, reinstall its software, and set it to default settings.  If a software problem on the iPod is the cause, a Restore should fix it.
If the screen still has this problem after doing a Restore, it is likely to be a hardware problem on the iPod.

  • Stupid questions on the ipod mini.....

I have an old ipod mini from 6 years ago.  I haven't used it since I got it.  Since I'm going to work out, I wanted to take it and listen while I'm exercising....
    Stupid question number one
    1. Can you hear music without using earphones?  Or do you have to use a docking system????  Is everything with head/earphones?
    2. The earphones that came with it, fall out of my ears..... what gives?  Can anyone make a suggestion about headphones that you don't have to stick in the ear canal... but aren't cumbersome????  I need some suggestions, else the whole ipod experience is a waste
    3.  am I stupid for staying with a vintage ipod mini, instead of getting an ipod touch or traditional ipod that's newer?  Are they easier to use?
All I really do is make playlists on itunes, and maybe a short download of a radio show or something like that.....  What's the advantages of Ipod touch vs traditional Ipods?

    1.  No.  You can hook it up to a docking station or use headphones/earbuds.
    2.  Everybody's ears are shaped different and so a one size doesn't fit all.   I don't have any particular suggestions though.  I would look on Amazon's site for an extensive list of possibilities.
    3.  Not at all.  If it still works, why quit using it or buy a new one?  Wouldn't make any sense!  The advantage of the iPod Touch is that it has much more capability compared to other models in that it can download and play Apps as well as a number of other things.
