I want a iPod touch 2G at least, but I am not sure if is compatible with my mac! Any suggestions on what to do?

As mentioned, the Minimum System Requirements for the iPod Touch does specify USB 2.0, see the requirements here:

While it is theoretically possible to sync over a USB 1.1 connection, your mileage may vary. Consider that USB 1.1 has a transfer rate of 12Mbit/sec, where USB 2.0 is 480Mbit/sec, so USB 2.0 is basically 40x faster. Transferring small files may succeed, but when you try to get iTunes to update or restore an iPod Touch, it will be trying to push a 300MB file (approximately) through a 12Mbit pipe. Trying to do updates or restore via USB 1.1 will often result in iTunes timing out before the process is complete.
If I were to try to sync a 1.5GB movie over a USB 1.1 connection, I could probably go to downtown Sydney and have a nice dinner and attend a concert at the Sydney Opera House and still get back before the sync was complete. BTW, I live in California...
If your computer is a desktop tower, upgrading to USB 2.0 is a relatively inexpensive proposition. If you are not a handy person with a phillips screwdriver or electical devices, most computer dealers or resellers will install for a nominal fee.

its probably a very simple question but I could not find the right answer here yet. I currently don't own a Mac or PC and would like to get a iPod touch in the mean time for basic internet and mail. I know its not as good as a 'real' laptop for it but that is fine with me.
Back when I still had a computer I enjoyed watching TV shows and movies that I rented/purchased over the iTunes store. Now my question is if it is possible to keep doing that. Meaning: Is it possible to download TV shows or movies directly to the iPod touch over its very own WiFi connection without any Mac/PC involved whatsoever?

just wondering because im am going to purchase the ipod touch 5 gen but have yet to see a release of any kind of accessories besides the 30 pin connector cord which has already been out. how would you protect your new ipod from drops or anything that could accure if it's not released with any new accessories ?

I have tried to sync my ipod touch with the itune, however when I plug into the computer, the itune doesn't detect the ipod touch eventhough the computer already detected the ipod touch. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the itune programme and restarting my ipod touch, however it seems like it is not really workin at all. Does anyone have any idea how to solve this problem. Hi! Happy Thanksgiving. So I really want to get the iPod touch 5th Generation for christmas/birthday (they're pretty close to eachother) however the one I want, which is the pink one, is about 70 $ more than the black one. After searching around for a little bit, I discovered that it's because the colored iPods have 32 GB as the lowest option, while the back one has 16 GB as the lowest. I would be perfectly happy with 16 GB considering the price reduction, but I really only want it in the color. So, why IS it that the colors don't come in a lower option on GB? Thanks!

it is compatible with most iOS 6 things, the main difference is just the fact that it doesn't have 3G or 4G, which limits how much it can use Siri or Maps.
it does have panorama, and a 5 MP iSight camera. the design is different. it is a lot thinner, it has curved edges, and at no part of the side is it flat, same for the top and bottom. that is NOT the case for iPhone. also the iPod doesn't have a mic. on the front.

just remember this for iOS 6: pretty much everything that doesn't always require internet the iPod can do. if it is something liketurn by turn direction, unless you have wi-fi in car, it wont work.
if you need siri for anything outside of wifi, unless it's something on the hard drive itslef, i.e. setting up reminders, it wont work for thing such as facebook posts, looking for restaurants, etc.
