Is the iTunes Store Online?
For some reason none of the computers on my network can get to the iTunes store. The error message we all get is iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. When anybody runs the diagnostic application we get a Windows error bos that says iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close.
When I click the link to show me what is in the error report, this is what I get:
AppName: itunes.exe AppVer: 7.7.0.43 ModName: quicktime.qts
ModVer: 7.50.61.0 Offset: 0003451a
After closing the error report I get a dialog box that has a link on it for more information. When I click on it I get sent to a Microsoft site saying the following:
This problem was caused by iTunes, which was created by Apple Inc..
Solution
A newer version of this software is available for download that addresses this problem. Apple Inc. recommends updating to take advantage of security and stability improvements.
Go online to the following website to update iTunes:
Apple Inc.
When I go to the download site and click on the download button, nothing downloads and I get sent to a thank you page.
iTunes was working perfectly and now it just stopped on all computers on our network. Does anyone have any idea what is going on? I am leaving town tomorrow and wanted to rent some movies to watch on the plane.
Thanks.
I am going to answer my own question here just in case someone else has the same problem as me.
I am using ISA Server 2004 and just applied service packs 2 and 3. Apperently the compression filter needs to be turned on. I do not know why this is, but in doing an internet search on the error in my firewall, I found a message on a board where the person said he needed to turn on the compression filter on ISA Server 2004 with SP3. I turned mine on, and now I am able to access the store.
Hope this helps others who are using ISA Server as their firewall.

My download of itunes is not linking to the itunes store online
I have tried downloading itunes several times because it is not linking with the online itunes store. Are there reasons for and answers to this?
Many thanks.
With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:

Hey guys. Bought the new Ministry Of Sound album, The Annual 2014 and went to import the music onto iTunes.
The album is on the online store as I was tempted to purchase it there, in hindsight I wish I had, however I didn't and now the information for the CD cannot be found online and insists I could put all 40 odd songs and all it's data into iTunes myself.
I am happy to do that if I must, but surely if the iTunes store has all the information for the album I can transfer all of it to the CD.
If not what else could I do?
ThanksThe CD track identification in iTunes queries information from the Sony/Gracenote database, and interestingly, has nothing to do with the iTunes Store.
You might as well go ahead and type it in. If you wish to be a good citizen, you can then use the iTunes "Submit Track Names" feature to submit to Gracenote, so that your fellow MoS fans will save typing. -
My i 4s will not download the iOS 5.1.1 when I am online with the iTunes store?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try updating it by connecting it to iTunes on your computer. -
I have tried to access the itunes store from my pc several times, but it just locks up. I downloaded a more recent version of itunes, but that had no effect.
Since I can access the internet through my browser and my computer shows everything is online, I am stumped. Can anyone suggest something?
ThanksClose your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

I have uninstalled iTunes several times and reinstalled it on my PC running Window 7 with all updated loaded. When I click on the iTunes Store Box, Nothing happens except for a message that reads:
iTunes has stopped working.
The following items give me a choice, but no answer comes up. The computer will shut down the website.
"Check online for a solution and close the program"
"Close the program."
There is an item below the box that is selectable for View problem details. When clicked a long list of items show up. I have listed some of the problems as written, but I do not understand them. I know the iTunes Store has been available on earlier versions of of iTunes but is not on this version. How can we go back and download an earlier version of iTunes?
Here are some of the Problem Details:
"Problem signature: APPCRASH
Application Name: iTunes.exe
Application Version: 11.0.1.12
Application Timestamp: 50c8fc7e"I had this exact same problem. I found this fix and it worked for me.
Step 1:
Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support and copy the filen named QTMovieWin.dll.
Step 2:
Browse and past that file into C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes.
Hope this helps you. I wish I could remember where I saw this originally so I could thank them.
Good Luck.

ITunes could not connect to the iTunes Store "Error Message"
I recently added iTunes 7.6 to my Windows XP operating system at the same time when I added an *Ion USB Turntable (TTUSB).* I currently have the 80G iPod with the larger video screen. I added in the supplied software of the EZ Vinyl Converter. The software reads from Gracenote and imports into iTunes okay. But now my PC cannot access the iTunes store to buy songs, read the tracks on the discs, or display new album artwork. The diagnostic read the network connectivety test, the CD/DVD drive, and iPod connectivity tests all read okay. I followed the directions on checking the network settings under the Internet Options Tool "Connections" Lan Settings and the Automatic detection and still no dice. All I get is "Make sure your network is active."
Can anybody help out their?

"iTunes could not connect to the Music Store. The network connection was terminated unexpectedly. Make sure your network connection is active and try again."
The errors occured in IE 7 Beta, Firefox 1.5.x, and Firefox 2 Beta. In each case, iTunes U loaded after I clicked the 'ok' button in iTunes. I did notice that in Firefox's case an additional pop-up window appeared that asked whether or not I had iTunes; when I selected that I do have itunes, it transfered me to iTunes but generated the error.
After getting these errors on my Windows XP machine, I tried it on two different lab machines running Windows XP, and didn't get the error message once -- I tried it in IE 6, Firefox 1.0.x and Firefox 1.5.x and they all worked. It even worked with IE 7 Beta and Vista Beta.
Based on this, I think the problem must lie in how Windows registered iTunes, and the handshake just isn't happening properly.

Hello there, so I was enjoying listening to music and using my various apps when suddenly I could no longer connect to the iTunes store. I went to update my apps and I was told itunes could not connect to the store 'Error 310'. I went to go online and post a question only to find my account had been suspended until I changed the password. I did so and no one managed to reply to my problem. Anyway, later that day suddenly it did connect, however when I tried to download updates I was given 'error 8003'.
So, I did as Apple support instructed, and deleted my downloads folder, and stopped my firewall, and stopped all other programmes so my computer was running on bare bones, even my speakers were had no software. However this made no difference, and I returned later that day to find that, instead of error 8003, I was stuck with error 310 again. I am a little confused...
Finally, I have checked and doubled checked and cannot find firewall or programme conflicts, and other wifi devices in my house seem to access the store succesfully.
I would like to update itunes but, is it possible to update it from the website without the total reinstall? Will all my music be safe? It could just be my current version has decided not to play ball anymore.
I'll be checking back here regularly, but thank you in advance. Also, to prewarn you, myself and computers do not always get on very well... I'm reasonably good at using them to be fair but since my first ICT lesson it's been known that computers don't seem to behave for me. So if you give me instructions please feel free to treat me like an idiot and spell them out.Sorry I gave this a 'this helped me' but after a long struggle I found some ticked box somewhere from some unauthorised chrome extension blaaa....... the link you gave was great, not only did it confirm all the bad things google is supposed to be up to it provided a better browser. Cheers man.
Anyone who find this; I disabled all extension in chrome. I then searched the word proxy in the settings section. A button came up, "change proxy settings" I clicked on it. Earlier it was greyed out as an extension was interefering.. It brought up a box with my own settings from my computer. Then I clicked LAN settings, then unchecked the 'Use a proxy server' button.
P.S. If you're using chrome, bail, and dowload Komodo Dragon. It's virtually identical, but you're not tracked, and you can use chrome extensions, and you can quickily transfer your chrome preferences into it. -
Like I said in the title, everytime I try to access the iTunes Store a pop-up shows up, saying "iTunes has stopped working". Then there are two options underneath:
-> Check online for a solution and close the program
-> Close the program
If I then view the problem details, it gives me this:

I am on a Windows 7 Gateway laptop with Intel Premium. This problem started a couple days ago, just after I finally gave in to go from my version 10 iTunes to the "new and improved" version 11 iTunes. The version 10 worked like a dream, no worries, very quick. Now, all I can do is use my iTunes library. If I just wanted a library I would be using Windows Media Player (jk, iTunes is better). Anyway, my point is, right after installing the new version of iTunes, this problem began. I've looked all through the Apple Support Pages, and tried a couple of things recommended, but nothing's worked so far. If anyone has a clue on what I can do, help would be very much appreciated. Also, if your suggestions don't involve downloading anything, that would be wonderful. Nevertheless, if they do, that's still okay. I'm desperate at this point, so any help would be greatly appreciated.Nevermind, I fixed the problem. I logged on as an administrator and deleted iTunes files. I then redownloaded the file as an administrator and the Store is working smoothly again!

is there an EASY way to submit podcasts to the itunes store? i've tried creating podcasts in garageband, then somewhere after wordpress itunes doesn't recognize the feed.
my process has been (i am open to suggestions for other free and EASY services/methods):
garageband : create & edit audio. add 1400x1400 image.
share to itunes.
drag file to desktop.
upload .m4a file to google drive.
create a link post in wordpress using "podcast" tag & create "podcast" category.
click on "entries rss" in wordpress, which takes me to the rss subscribe page (which is basically just my wordpress address with "/feed" at the end.
i copy this url.
go to itunes store > then "submit a podcast"
itunes gives me the error message "we had difficulty downloading episodes from your feed."
when i try to subscribe to my podcast in itunes, it does, but gives me no episodes available.
i went back into wordpress and changed settings/ reading settings to : "full text" from "summary"
still the same error message.
i added a feedburner step after wordpress but got the same errors. i don't think i should have to add feedburner.
wordpress seems to be encapsulating the rss, what am i doing wrong?
this so much easier when you could go directly from garage band to iweb to mobileme; i miss those apple days (also idisk).if anyone has a super EASY process, i would LOVE to know what it is. EASY, meaning no html and also free. there are many free online storage systems available, many of which i currently use. the above process was just me trying to figure it out, if you have an easier method, please share. thank you so much!

I registered online and after this i am getting the error.
apple id has not been used with the itunes store-please review your account information
Can any one help me in this issue.
Thanks&Regards,
Shankar.MThis is information you you have created an apple id.
To use this apple id for the itunes store, you have to agree to the terms and conditions and enter in the requested information before you can use the store.
When you create an apple id it does not mean you gain access to all apples features, you would need to create a :-
Itunes id
Facetime id
Game centre id
imessage id
icloud id
You can use the same email address as each login. but until you agree to each terms and conditions you wont be able to access the services.
This is usually done the first time you access each service and sign in with your apple id.
As to iTunes you need a little extra as they will request to confirm details as to address, etc, with the payment information they can confirm you are actually in that country you are trying to purchase from.
Once you have added the credit card details, you can go back in a set payment method to none and remove the credit card details once you have activated the itunes on your apple id.
Basically this message you are getting is just ADDING the feature of iTunes store to your apple id, and confirms you have not got a iTunes id yet.
