Is the Laptop charger covered in the warranty?

Alrihgt, so I had bought my laptop on the 27th of last month, and now the charger is buzzing and it shocks me whenever I plug in the laptop and have it on my lap. I didn't get it wet or anything to lead up to this, and I can't afford to buy a new charger. Is it covered in the warranty?

Hi,
Yes absolutely..Just call HP Technical Support and they'll ship you a new one.
The factory warranty in HP Notebooks covers all hardware (battery warranty is only 1 year) except accidental damages. For accidental damages you can purchase a seperate warranty known as Accidental Damage Plan.
Note:
If you have HP Support Assistant installed on the computer(The Blue Question Mark) then open it ==> Complete all pending Updates & Tuneups==> Restart and Check. It may solve your problem
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

  • Is Laptop adapter covered in extended warranty

I have a 3 year extended warranty for my laptop and my adapter has stopped working. Is the laptop charger covered in the warranty or do i need to purchase a new one ?

    Hey @Vaibhav_Gupta ,
I can't find any information that confirms they are covered under the extended warranty but I can confirm they are covered under the 1 year factory warranty.
THe extended warranty details only specifies Hardware parts and labor.
Your best bet would be to call an HP Phone Support rep as they deal with warranties unlike the forums, and would be the ones to process the exchange. You can contact HP Technical Support at 1-800-474-6836 in North America. For all other regions click here.
    Good luck!

  • Is the charger/sync cord covered under verizon warranty?

Had some problems, i dont have the money to buy even a cheap one, and my phone has died. i have a kitten who likes to chew on cords, he chewed on this one, but it kept working until a few days ago even after it had been chewed on and been that way for quite some time (about 2 or 3 weeks now), but it just stopped charging the other day (about 5 mins after i plugged it in to charge). I know it's pulling some sort of electricity because the charger still gets hot, even tho the phone isn't being charged, so i guess it ended up not making a connection anymore. (the charger has always gotten hot so hot that if it's in for a full charge from dieing on me, that i can't touch the charger without unplugging the iphone, and waiting for it to cool down, it gets extremely burning hot. but no sparks or anything so i just assume(d) that was/is normal. but that's how i know it's getting some current of electricity because the charger part is still getting warm to the touch, but the phone isn't getting anything on the recieving end.
(another question, i've search a lot, and found answers for this, but all were "no" and a few ended up stating things as facts as to why it was a "no" but their facts weren't facts at all...
can i use my ipod shuffle charge/sync cord to charge my iphone 4? it's the headphone jack one. (and people say the reason it's "no" is because the headphone jack is only a output and not a input... my thoughts are they are wrong because if that was the case, then you couldn't use the mic on the headphones through the headphone jack. The mic is the input, while the headphones are the output. so there is a two way connection of some sort there.. ))
My iphone 4 charger and charge/sync cord are the ones that originally came from the phone back in January 2013 when i got it.
(if i were to try the other charge/sync cord that came from the ipod shuffle, it's the one that orignally came with it, back in 2008-ish . (but i dont want to break my phone in the process. so i'm just trying to find other options and make sure that it wouldn't short it out or kill it in some way (the charger, the charger/sync cord, and/or the phone)).
I have the 1yr warranty, but i've never had to actually use the warranty on this specific phone, so i dont know if this is counted with the phone, since it is the item that came with the phone from verizon. (a few years back, the charger on my motorala phone just stopped recieving charge (there wasn't any explaination as to why, other than it stopped working, and when i took it in, they tested to make sure the phone wasn't the one not recieving the charge, and when it was the charger cord they traded me a refurbished one. (just the cord not the charger that it plugged into (Because it was the cord not working))
    thx!

Okay, I tried really hard to excise out the facts of what exactly you are talking about.  Very difficult to understand.
    1. Yes, the charger that came with your iPhone is covered under Apple's 1 year warranty ... but it is only covered for manufacturer's defects.  It's not covered if your "kitten chewed on it" ... if that's what you were saying at the top ... not exactly sure.
    2. You need to use a 30 pin cable to charge your iPhone.  You cannot charge it by something that plugs into the headphone jack ... if that's what you were saying is how the other charger works.

  • Is the charger covered by warranty?

My charger stopped working yesterday for no apparent reason. Is the charger covered by the warranty? And how would I go about getting a replacement charger?

    Hi!
Normally the charger is covered by warranty when your notebook has warranty.

    >If I sell the laptop to another person will they be covered by the warranty?
I think you will need to contact the Toshiba to move the warranty to the other person who bought this notebook.
    >Also do I need to provide them with the orginal receipt?
Yes, I think this will be necessary.
Here you can find the Toshiba EU warranty registration page:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/vpoWarrantyRegHome.do?service=EU&LNG=null
There is a area called: Review or update previous registrations.
I think you could update the registration providing new data of the person who bought the unit

  • What is the warranty of a "Toshiba" harddrive of my HP laptop??

I bought my HP Pavilion DV7-1175NR laptop on 10/12/08.  Recently, I noticed my laptop runs really slow, and the harddisk LED remains on constantly.  Using Window's drive self-test, it was determined that "Hard disk 1 needs to be replaced".  Because I was not able to wait, I went out and bought a new drive.  I had to install everything from scratch but with the new drive my laptop functions fine now.  However, I want to know what is the warranty on the dead drive?  I know Seagate offers a 5-year warrantly on all its harddrive products.  Toshiba's website says if any of its components (such as harddisk) are part of another manufacturer's device (such as laptop), then I'll need to contact the manufacturer (HP).  So, what can HP do about my hard drive?
    This question was solved.

Hdd's made by all manufacturers for OEM's such as HP,Dell, etc are not covered by the standard warranty available on the retail versions. The hdd is covered by the OEM under standard 1 year warranty, unless you purchase the Extended Warranty which  can be for 1-2 more yrs.

  • Is this covered under the warranty?

A month ago my iPhone was stolen. A teacher just confiscated it from the thief. However the glass on the screen and back were destroyed, but the LCD still worked. The battery was dead and when I tried charging it, it wouldn't. Is repairing this or getting a new one covered under the warranty?

    No. Only manufacturing defects are.
