Is the latest version of photoshop compatible with older versions?

I've recently bought photoshop cs4 to use on my macbook, but I also use version 8.0 at work. I'm having trouble printing off files which I have created in cs4, on the work computer using the older version of photoshop. I was just wondering if the two versions were compatible or if I needed to save files created in cs4 differently so they work in the older version?

michelle,
If you are creating files in CS4 and implementing features not used in older versions, you may have problem either opening or printing the files in the older version.
If the work computer is also yours, you can do a second installation of your CS4 software on that machine and activate it -- as long as you are the user on both machines, and you don't use the software simultaneously on both machines.

I think you mean Photoshop CS2.  Photoshop 2 is from around 1992.  The old Adobe activation servers were taken down. CS2 is about a decade old Adobe made a new download for old customers that legal customers can download and install. Download Acrobat 7 and CS2 products

  • The shared library is not compatible with this version of itunes

I have a G3 running Jaguar (and iTunes 6) that hosts my MP3 collection. Until recently, this worked great as a shared library, happily showing up in iTunes on other machines on my network, including my Powerbook.
Then I got iTunes 8 on my MacBook Pro.
Now, when I try to access it from my MBP with Leopard, I get the message "the shared library Nick's Music is not compatible with this version of itunes".
Can I somehow run an older version of iTunes as well as v 8.0 on Leopard?
Is there another program that can access that library and run on Leopard?
    Any other solutions?

I solved it myself...What I did was to backup the old library, run iTunes 6 to create a new library, move that new library, edit iTunes 6 preferences to use the library in it's new location, then restore the iTunes 8 library to it's original position.

  • The AirPlay device is not compatible with this version of iTunes.

I can no longer connect one of my Air Port devices. I continually get the same error message.
"The AirPlay device “Bedroom” is not compatible with this version of iTunes."
Bedroom is the name I gave the device. I just updated my Itunes, and it shows "bedroom" as a multi speaker option, but wont connect. I'm not tech savy at all, just frustrated. Please help.
    Brian.

Restarted everything twice. Now it works. Don't know how or why, but at least it's on now.

  • Will the new iPhone 4s be compatible with iMac version OSX 10.6.8, or will I need to upgrade the iMac operating system?

Will the new iPhone 4s be compatible with my 5 or 6 year old iMac that I upgraded to Snow Leopard (10.6.8)? Or will I need to upgrade the operating system on the iMac?

go to apple.com/iphone and look up tech specs.
    You'll find this:

  • ICloud apps Not Compatible with older versions if iWorks

    CAUTION
If you haven't upgraded to the new version of iWorks that was released with Mavericks today, do NOT open any of your files in iCloud. If you do, you will no longer be able to open them with your older versions of the iWorks apps.
For example, Apple today released Pages version 5.0. The last version of Pages was 4.3 (released in Dec 2012). If you create a new document in Pages 4.3, save it to iCloud and then open it in iCloud using Safari, you will no longer be able to open the same document in Pages 4.3. When you try, you'll get an error that you need a newer version of Pages.
In other words, it's now imperative that you upgrade to the latest version of the iWorks apps that were released today as the earlier versions are NOT compatible with the iCloud apps.
    Hope this helps.

The FAQ for iPad Pages has always made it clear that Pages import and export formats were Pages 09 only.  Nobody here can tell why Apple made it that way, but you can give them your views here:

  • Is it true that the latest upgrade is not compatible with AVAST AntiVirus programs? I saw a post with one of the recent updates, and suggested it wouldn't work with my AVAST?

As Above. Before I download the recent update to Fire Fox I want to be certain that it is compatible with ALL AVAST ANTI Virus programs, or I will simply not down load it.

The only thing about Avast that might not be compatible is their Web Rep extension for Firefox. If that is the case, it is up to Avast to keep their Firefox add-on up-to-date as Mozilla releases new versions of Firefox. Did you check with Avast to see if an update is available? If there is, you probably need to have Firefox 5.0 installed to be able to install that update.

  • Got the email from Apple Aperture compatible with future versions of iOS?  (Mac OS?)

Got the email from Apple about Aperture this morning.  They had a huge omission:  are they going to keep Aperture compatible with future iOS? If not, I want, at a minimum, a refund for what I paid for the app.

They had a huge omission:  are they going to keep Aperture compatible with future iOS?
There will be no further development of Aperture. That much should be clear from the announcement, that Aperture will no longer be sold at the AppStore.  You are lucky - you used the last chance to buy the best photos app  ever Apple created. The new Photos is not intended to be  used by professional photographers like Aperture was. And you will be able to use and enjoy it as long as you keep a compatible operating system on your Mac.

  • I want to upgrade to iPhoto/iMovie '11 but the latest release is not compatible with OSX 10.6.8

Can I buy an older version anywhere? Or am I being coerced into buying Lion? I tried looking through the app store but it seems increasingly likely that I'm going to have to buy an old iLife disc of someone, or upgrade. Unfortunately I'm using a late 2007 Macbook (not even Macbook pro) which handles leopard but not sure if it will handle Lion.
    Currently I'm running...
    OSX 10.6.8
    iPhoto '08 7.1.5
    iMovie '08 7.1.4

Thanks! I found iLife 11 on amazon, but can I download it? I don't mind paying for it, just don't want to wait. Thanks.

  • CC created brush sets compatible with older versions?

Are brushes/sets created in CC compatible with CS and/or older versions of Illustrator +Photoshop please?

Most likely not except for the most rudimentary brushes. Too much stuff has changed in recent versions.

  • The remote speaker is not compatible with this version of iTunes.

I have been having a lot of trouble setting up my Airport Express, so I upgraded to iTunes 7.3.2 (I was using iTunes 6). Now I am getting the incompatibility error.
I've read through most of the threads regarding this issue and done what they said. My Airport is almost brand new, so I was already using firmware 6.3.
I've configured it with both utilities while it's connected via ethernet to my modem (a 2wire wireless modem/router from ATT) and also tried while connecting it to my PowerBook G4.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
    Kevin

So I called customer support and the guy helped me figure out the problem.
The Airport had been working when it was a network all by itself. The problem came when I put it in client mode under my 2wire modem/router.
So he advised me to open up port 192 to let iTunes talk through my router to my Airport.
So I pulled up my 2wire configuration and went to Firewall then added an application with all port 192-192 as the range and added that to be allowed with my airport when it's connected to my 2wire.
Now everything seems to be working fine.

  • There was a recent upadate on my PC, however it does not work. A error code comes up which says, min version is not compatible with max version. And I caanot open my browser. Please help.

I do a system restore which allows me to open my browser. Without this I cannot open my browser - the error code comes up every time.

    * Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
    * Don't remove personal data when uninstalling.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

  • Is SQL Developer 1.5.1.54.40 compatible with older versions of Oracle DB?

I have SQL Developer 1.2.1 on one machine (this has Oracle installed on the PC) and SQL Developer 1.5.1.54.40 on another (this does not have Oracle installed on it)
I have set the same 3 database environments on both versions using Basic connection. They have exactly the same Host IP addresses and Port numbers and service names. I am using the same logins and passwords on the PCs.
When I test these 3 connections on the PC with 1.2.1, the test is successful
When I test on the PC with 1.51, the test succeeds with one of the connections which is on Oracle 9i, and fails on the remaining 2 connections which are on Oracle 8i=The Failure message I get is: "+*Failure: Test Failed. Unsupported Oracle Database Version*+"

Unfortunately for your 8i DBs, there is a note in the [release notes|http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/sql_developer/files/relnotes_v151.html] that says:
The JDBC drivers shipped are 11g R1. This means that users will no longer be able to connect to an Oracle 8.1.7 database.

  • Files Created in Photoshop CC Not Compatable With Older Versions of Photoshop?

I have heard that the new Photoshop CC uses a new file system that is not compatible with older versions of Photoshop so you can only edit them in the new Cloud version of Photoshop CC.  Is this true?

i opened a fine in PSCS 13.1.2.I edited it a bit, converted a layer to a SO and used liquify on that layer.
I saved it as a tiff. Did not try it as a psd.
PSCS5 opened the tiff without complaint, including the SO+liquified layer. When i clicked on the liquify at bottom of the SO layer to try to edit it I got the notice "CANNOT FIND THE FILE", or something like that.
So, I guess pscs5 is already done for.
