Is the manual wrong or am I missing something?

Just trying to get my head around speed graphs, which I've always found a bit tricky, & I came across this in the manual (page 306):
Note: Like the value graph, the speed graph displays x, y and z (3D only) values in different colours: x values are red, y values are green, and z values are blue.
Well... No they aren't.
I'm sitting here looking at the speed graph for a layer & the line is white with yellow handles.
I'd love the speed graph to be in colour so is the manual wrong or am I just not getting it?

I started off using the web based help but a) I find a book much easier to read, b) I can read a book over a coffee in a non-wifi area & c) When I'm using the book in conjunction with the software, even though it's only a key command, I find it easier to have the book in front of me than keep swapping back & forth between AE & the help doc.
In future I will refer to the on line manual if & when I discover stuff like this & then post any comments as instructed.

Modify Bezier direction handles
The first sentence states:
In the Graph Editor, keyframes that use Bezier interpolation have direction handles attached to them. You can retract, extend, or rotate the direction handles to fine-tune the Bezier interpolation curve.
I have been unable to rotate handles in the graph editor. Is this entry wrong or am I just not getting it?

I know it can be frustrating seeing that inbox get full and having to delete
stored messages. I do see in the Samsung manual where it advises that it
will store a maximum of 300 messages on the phone. The number may lower
if there are pictures messages and other things being stored on the device.
Have you checked your total Memory available in Settings and Tools? How much is
currently available? Please let us know these details and we may be able
to help further!

A version of an existing Trojan Horse posing as a legitimate Flash Player installer (named “Flashback.A” by a security firm) is designed to disable updates to the default Mac OS X anti-malware protection system, potentially leaving the system open to the manual installation of other malware without any system warnings. The most recent versions bypass any user action and automatically installs itself after an affected website is visited.

Flashback Trojan - Prevention of infection:

Also, do not turn on Java in Safari Preferences/Security. Few websites use Java. Javascript is something entirely different and should be left active.
The Flashback Trojan does not affect PPC (non-Intel) Macs, nor has it been noted to affect users running Tiger OS 10.4.11 or Leopard OS 10.5.8.
Last, but by no means least, using Open DNS is the simplest way of preventing infection in the first place. Open DNS also protects against phishing attacks, re-directs, speeds up your internet connection, and works for all users of OS X from Tiger upwards:

New Macs running Lion do not have either Flash Player nor Java installed. I don’t know if this was already discussed but I’m trying to do this the right way so, please bear with me
Let's see if I got this correctly:
I have a sketch attached so someone with experience can check if my words match what I drew
When creating a profile for a lens one needs to shoot 3 images on the midpoint of the first line and move the camera up and down using center column of a tripod, not tilting the camera on the ball head?
Then, one needs to move camera to the left until checker board is on the right side in the viewfinder and do those 3 positions mentioned above?
Then the opposite side, moving camera to the right on the first line
Of course, for each position one have to make a shot for each aperture (2,8 3,0 3,5... and so on up to 22) and zoom lengths (in my case 12, 18... up to 60mm for 12-60SWD)
After all that one needs to move to the second line and do all that all over again!
And then to the third line and all over again!
What is the minimum distance one needs to place the camera from the checker board (first line)?
So that checker board takes 1/2 in the viewfinder or it depends on something else?
What is the farthest distance one needs to place a camera from the checker board (third line)?
Is all this correct because my calculation went up to 1620 shots?!?!?!
Please, help me understand this tedious process so I can do some good and create some solid profiles for 12-60SWD and 50-200SWD.

So it seems that I do need to tilt the camera rather than move it up/down using center column.
That one is solved
There is something else that's confusing me:

In the shooting guide on page 10 under point 3 it's stated that one should keep the focus distance consistent which means that one shouldn't move away or get closer because you would get OOF picture or would need to re-focus.
But, on page 11, under point 7.) a) iv) it's stated that one should move to the side and shoot under a slight angle
That would suggest that I need to get a bit closer to the checker board and move like drawn under point (1) on my sketch
So, does one move like drawn under point (1) or in a straight line like drawn under point (2) and re-focus?
That brings up another question: On which part of the checker board should one set the focus point?

I guess the problems should be with file permissions. The robot is run by the Admin server which runs on the local host. The following link should help you in indexing a NT shared volume.

Have you been syncing the iPod with iTunes? Then you just connect the iPad and set it up through iTunes and sync any content you want onto it.

In terms of games/apps. If they are not universal (you will see a + symbol next to them) or made for iPad (you would see an HD in the name, usually) then they won't look good on an iPad as those apps will open in a iPod sized window, giving you the option to enlarge.

Audio settings - is the FCE manual wrong?

Hi. On page 213 of the FCE 4 manual, it says:
To convert a CD audio file so it matches your sequence settings:
1 Select a sequence, then choose Sequence > Settings.
2 Check the sample rate of the sequence in the Audio Settings area of the General tab,
then click OK.
For DV sequences, the sample rate is usually 48 kHz.
When I select a Sequence and choose Settings, I don't have a General tab. I only have "Timeline Options" and "Render Control". It seems I can find the Aud Rate and Format by looking at the "Item Properties" for a sequence, but I'm wondering if I'm reading the manual wrong, or if it is a misprint?

Evidently, the FCE manual is a stripped down version of the FCP manual... and the section you are referring to describes what you can do in FCP, not in FCE.
To check these sequence settings in FCE you must look in the +browser in List View+ : there are many columns. Look for Audio, Aud Rate and Aud Format associate with your sequence.

HT2792 Just purchased from an airport store the MagSafe Airline Adapter so I could use my MacBook Air on a long haul flight. But, the airline adapter plug doesn't fit the socket. Am I missing something?

I purchased at the airport last week before a long haul flight the MagSafe Airline Adappter so I couod keep working on the MacBook Air without fear of the battery running out before I had completed the necessary work. The shop assistant assured me the kit worked on all planes but......the socket on the flight, both outbound and inbound, was the normal female 2 pin/3 pin socket that I used to use for my old thinkPad. What am I doing wrong? Am I missing something obvious here

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I understand your point and have indeed separated them. Since sending the message I have visited the Apple Store to check the picture of the accessory in case I was missing something and I wonder if I am missing the 20mm adapter but, over and above that, I just dont see the right size/shape empower port socket in the plane seat, only the traditional 3 pin/2 pin sockets. I wonder if the salesman was selling me a pig in the poke because the Apple Store also says that it fits some commercial airlines whereas the salesman told me it worked in all flights. I suspect I will need to go to the airline companies direct to see which planes have this particualr Empower port. In the meantime I am tempted to ask for my money back. Geoff

Missing something on stacks? The current pick isn't on top when closed

I'm a learner Aperture user and having fun learning it. Missing something at the moment though. I am working with stacks and promoting one image to the top of the stack, so it shows first in the group of shots. However, when I close the stack, the previous #1 keeps going to the top.
I've tried rating the pick higher than the others, clicking 'Primary Only' and various other things, but the same thing keeps happening: I can't get my new pick to sit on top of the stack when closed.
What am I doing wrong? Am I missing something obvious or have I struck a bug?

Sounds like the image that keeps going back to the top is an Album Pick. You can have different picks for different albums- which can be quite handy at time.
Select your pick then go to the stacks menu and choose "Set Album Pick". See if that works.

When I click on my contacts icon on my phone there is a Groups choice in the upper left hand corner. Make sure you are in All Contacts and not a specific person.

well first remove the case. check the headphone jack for debris. do a hard reset by holding sleep/wake and home button down together for 10 seconds untill apple appears. backup and restore via itunes. if issue persists the device needs repair

Snow leopard install DVD mystery: Am I missing something?

Okay, I have a brand new iMac, three days in my ownership. After installing software via DVDs and downloads, resolving a few issues, etc, I'm getting an error message - a minor item doesn't load. I run Disk Utility, which points me to a repair that has to be conducted by booting off the Install 1 dsik. No big deal. So I boot off my 10.6.2 Install 1 disk which came with the computer, and all it gives me is a Hardware Test. No option to boot off the DVD. I run the Hardware test anyway, and it still gives me no option to Boot off the DVD. I repeat this with Install Disk 2 and get the Hardware Test again. Same deal.
If I start normally off the hard drive with Install Disk 1 in the superdrive, I get the correct install display, but that's not booting off the disk itself.
Am I missing something, doing some wrong, or do I have a bad Install Disk?

The problem on the Install Disk 1 is that it doesn't give me access to anything but the Hardware Test. It doesn't let me get as far as DU or the OS Install screens. It just gives me the choice to run the Hardware Test, or to Shutdown or Restart.
Of all the Macs I have owned, this is the first Install Disk that doesn't give me a choice between accessing the HD or (re)Installing the O, or running DU.

I run itunes on a 8yr old computer with windows xp. I have tryed to update itunes as I now have an Iphone 4 and an Ipad. The update goes well untill the last minute and a window comes up saying I am unable to complete the task as my computer is missing something. You might copy down the error then try posting again. Your likely missing a DLL or sorts. Once people see the error then maybe you can get lucky for the fix.

Realizing 2 Glitches Unless I'm Missing Something

Number 1.. The "Mail" app that comes pre-loaded on the home screen to access my gmail account is not letting me.. I am 200% positive the username and password are correct because I double check on my laptop that my login information was the same...
