Is the Mini 1001TU keyboard dished?

Brand new Mini 1001TU.
Right side of keyboard seemed to "bulge". I thought it might be an assembly error.
Laying a ruler across the rows of keys, I see that the middle keys (e.g. R to U) are lower than the keys to the left and right (Q to E and I to P).
So now I wonder if this "dished" effect is a design feature.
Can any other 1001TU owner confirm whether their keyboard is "flat" or "dished"?
(Side issue: I'd also like to know if your new 1001TU came with a protector on the LCD panel - mine didn't but it seems some did (so I wonder if I got a remanufactured customer return, or something)).

It looks like the unit has the most drivers available for Windows XP.
All available drivers from HP can be found by going here, selecting Software & Driver Downloads, and the proper operating system.
There won't be drivers for download for every component as some components use an in-OS driver (e.g. the keyboard).

I am able to connect to my Mac Mini on Back to My Mac through iCloud but the keyboard/trackpad on the MBAir or MBP with which I access does not register on the Mini.  So I can see the screen but cannot interact with it. Mini works accessing MBP/Air and I can use Mini to input data or interact with screens of those computers.

Regarding your first question about bookmarks, I think you discovered the answer in when you pressed the address bar. The second tab there has your bookmarks.
As for the keyboard, I'm not sure why your Firefox is reacting so slowly; mine seems to show keyboards even when I don't want them. If you have accumulated a lot of history, perhaps that's an issue?
Did you use any third party software to move your Firefox data from internal memory to the storage card?

  • Using a PowerPc G5 and Mac Mini with the same display, keyboard and mouse

I have a G5 PowerPC and a new Mac Mini. I wanted a good KVM switch so that I can use the same display, keyboard and mouse with both machines. Any suggestions?

    IOGear, Trendware and Startech.
    I'd stick with IOGear.

  • Just started up my Mac Mini out of the box, using a USB windows keyboard, it will not recognize letters so I am unable to enter serial number.  Anything I can do to get the mini mac right out of the box to recognize the windows keyboard?

Just started up my Mac Mini out of the box, using a USB windows keyboard, it will not recognize letters so I am unable to enter serial number.  Anything I can do to get the mini mac right out of the box to recognize the windows keyboard?  Do I have to buy an Apple Keyboard to get it to work right out of the box?

Is this a normal USB keyboard or is there anything specialized about it? Does this keyboard require you to install any special software to use it on a Windows box? Or is it usually a plug & play keyboard?
Normally if a Mac does not recognize a keyboard it asks you to press certain keys to identify the keyboard. What is happening on screen with this keyboard? What serial number are you referring to?

  • Just bought a new mac mini, wireless keyboard, and track pad. My track pad will not synch. All advise I have been given is to change items in the setting menu, but I cant because I still have to get through the setup!!

The power button for the Trackpad is on the right hand end of the battery case. Press that button to initiate the pairing process. On the top of the Trackpad just above the power button is a tiny green light (you probably cannot see it unless it is lighted). That light will indicate ehther or not the Trackpad is discoverable. If the Trackpad has discoverable the green light will blink on and off. If it does not pair within 3 minutes you will have to press the power button again to re-initiate the pairing process. Once your Trackpad has paired, you can just leave it on and it will pair automatically when you reboot your Mac.
If you are having problems pairing, try turning off any other Bluetooth devices within 30 or so feet of your Mac mini. That includes other Computers, iPhones, iPads, etc. that may be in the area. Once your Trackpad has pairedwith your mini, you don't have to be concerned about other Bluetooth devices.
One other hint, I find that although the Wireless Trackpad does not eat batteries as fast as the Magic Mouse it still uses more than the Wireless Keyboard. It is a good idea to keep a supply of AA batteries around. I have used Apple's Rechargable batteries, but found they did not last that long before needing to be recharged. I have had the best battery life from Duracell Quantum batteries.

  • I have iPad Mini 1 and would like to switch languages using the Microsoft Wege keyboard. Is that possible?

Hi! I bought a Microsoft Wedge keyboard to use with my iPad Mini I. Unfortunately it does not have iOS keys.  My iPad Mini is configured to write in 3 languages, and the on-screen keyboard can quickly switch between these three languages.  Are there any shortcut keys on the Wedge keyboard to do the same? Is there a way to reprogram the keys of the Wedge keyboard?
Thanks a lot for your help.

TThe normal keyboard shortcut is command plus space.
if no command key, try the windows key

  • Will the mini iPad Logitech keyboard fit the new retinal display mini iPad?

Will the new mini iPad fit the original mini iPad keyboard cover by Logitech.

There's a fraction of a millimeter between them. So if the case is hard molded plastic, probably not. But if it's a more forgiving case, like  a leather slip in case or the such, you should be ok.

That's so you can text with your thumbs. If it does' tog back together  automatically  put your finger on the tiny typewriter  and you should get a pop up to reconnect keyboard. Or more easily put a finger on each one and pop them together.

  • I cannot use any external monitor, it appear like the port doesn't work , i'm using the mini-dvi port with a VGA adaptor ,

I've always used the port normally with different monitor but by a couple of weeks it appear like no signal come out.
Does Anyone knows what can i do ? i.e. How to check or reset the Mini-dvi port ? or if there's any key on the keyboard that can habilitate it or not ?
    Any Help will be appreciate
    Thanks

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You don't have to do anything to make the port work. Reset the SMC > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
If it doesn't work, try with another monitor to see if it works or another cable. If you haven't got another display, take the MacBook Pro to an Apple Store or reseller, so Apple will test the port and see if it works correctly

  • The mini vga adaptor doesn't recognize the display help?

i am unable to connect my macbook pro to the projector through the mini vga adaptor .it shows a blue screen on connecting and then nothing happens.please suggest step by step procedure to get the display . the projector is of sony.any setting changes are needed pls suggest.

Check your port for any dirt or debris. Check your system prferences, for the correct sttings
    Try a PRAM reset.
    Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Option, Command (⌘), P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on your Mac.
Immediately press and hold the Option-Command-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears. Continue holding the keys down until your Mac restarts, and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

  • Hp mini 110 keyboard-spilled tea on it

Hi, I spilled tea on my hp mini 110 keyboard. I tried cleaning under the keys but that didn't help so I ordered a new keyboard. After installing the new keyboard all the keys worked minus the "Enter" key. The next day all of the keys on the middle row stopped working: A S D F G H J K L : " Enter.
My question is, could it be the new keyboard that is defective or maybe the tea that was spilled went beyond the keyboard onto the components underneath it that could be causing the problem. I may end up having to trash the whole netbook.
Thank You in advance for any help to solve this problem.

    Hi there @reggiebat
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel.
I understand that when you click on an icon it asks if you want to send it to the recycle bin. I am happy to help with this.
It sounds to me like both of your computers have a virus or other malicious software. I would recommend you check both systems thoroughly. The following pages have some information to get you started with this.
HP PCs - Resolving and Preventing Viruses on Your Computer (Windows 7, Vista, XP)
About Spyware, Adware, and Browser Hijacking Software
Another option would be to take one of both of them to a local computer shop that offers the service and have them check and clean your system.
Let me know if you need any further help.

  • New Mac Mini-wired keyboard unresponsive

    Hello..
I just took my banrd new 2.6 ghz Mac Mini out of the box. I hooked up my Apple wired keyboard and mouse from my ~~2009 Mac Pro.  The mouse functions. The keyboard is not responding--It works fine on my Mac Pro.  All I have done so far is turn the computer on and it wants to know my Wifi network.  I can select the network with the mouse but cannot enter the password.  The keyboard appears to be dead.  Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated...
    Thanks
    Rocky

I have a feeling you've tried this already, but...
Try plugging the keyboard into a different USB port on the back of your Mini. Plug the mouse into a USB port on the back of the Mini, too; not into one of the USB ports that may or may not be on your keyboard.

  • Trying to return a defective Lenovo Mini Wireless Keyboard 57Y6336

I am hoping someone can help me since at this point I am completely frustrated.
I received a Mini Wireless Keyboard Friday I ordered direct from Lenovo. It turns out it is defective and phone support has been completely useless as far as I can tell. Several of the keys don't work and the trackball is so loose you have to keep a finger on it otherwise the mouse cursor doesn't stay still. I spent over an hour on the phone on Friday trying to get a RMA to do a defective return, but apparently every department I talked couldn't help me so had to transfer me to someone else. I finally spoke to someone who I thought issued a RMA, but when I got home from work today I had a message from the same person saying I need to call 877-453-6686 which is both the second and fourth number I was transfered to and they should be able to help me. At this point I am over this and just want to return this so I can get my money back.
I figured I would try on the forums since I have had no luck via the phone.

As far as I can tell there is no one at Lenovo that handles this item so I might as well put in for a credit card dispute. I tried calling several times last week and again today.
Every department I am connected to says they don't handle accessories unless it came with a PC.
I wish I had known this was how my experience would be before I bought the N5901.

  • Any 'Power On' button for the Apple Pro keyboard?

Any 'Power On' button for the Apple Pro keyboard?
It is possible to boot the Mac mini without pressing its rear power button? There is a handy 'Power On' button for the Apple Keyboard named 'i-Cue' (see below), but it no longer works with the new Macs (G5 and Mactel).
A shame that Apple removed the power button of their keyboards years ago. So, what I am looking for is something similar to this, but working with the new Macs:
USB Boot Dongle (i-Cue) for Mac
Allows you to work with your G3 or G4 mini tower hidden out of the way
You can have your Mac under the desk, yet it can be easily turned on from the keyboard position. Simply clips on to the Apple Pro Keyboard
    Includes 1.8m pass-through USB cable.
    http://www.lindy.com/uk/productfolder/03/32/32871/index.php
    Thanks.

To do this, though, it would require that you just
switch off the power to the Mac rather than going
through it's shutdown procedure. Pulling the power on
a running computer may cause all sorts of problems
and should be avoided unless it's absolutely
    necessary to do it.
I'd agree with that most certainly - though the old G4 would allow itself to be shut down and then have the remote power switch thrown. I've not had reason to test whether a mini would, or would simply immediately attempt a restart.
Thanks for jumping in though to make that point - it's crucial not to overlook the dangers of improper shutdowns.

  • It is possible to boot a mac mini from keyboard?

I need to boot my mac mini from Kb, it is possible?

keg55 but youyr suggestion uses the Power button too.

Yes, it's possible (COMMAND+CONTROL+Power Button).  OS X keyboard shortcuts.
With the Min Off, there is no power to the keyboard and thus you can't turn the iPod on only from the keyboard.
