Is the new Ipad on verizon global now?

Is the new Ipad on verizon global now since it also has SIM capability and as per specs on the apple website supports UMTS and GSM. So can I take it to India and use it there on GSM network by popping in the local sim card?
As per the specs on the link the only difference I am seeing between ATT and VZW wireless capabilites is the additional EVDO radio in the latter's model.

I would advice you to wait until Apr 27th when Apple is expected to launch the new Ipad in India. As per the Australian situation waters are way more murkier if you want to use 4G.
As per apple's website both verizon and ATT models will work on 3G GSM/UMTS worldwide just like the ipad 2. However for 4G there is a catch: Both verizon and ATT in the US use 700Mhz spectrum but Apple has carrier locked spectrum in the US so in case you land up buying one of them for example ATTs and India decides to launch 4G in the spectrum that is being used by verizon in the US then you won't be able to access 4G in India.
As far as I have seen so far India does plan to auction LTE spectrum in 700MHz and 2300MHz band however no official confirmation yet. In case its going to be 2300Mhz( where Airtel seems to be targetting) then it will pretty much not matter whichever you buy since you will only be accessing 3G GSM network there and both verizon and ATT work in the same. In that case I would recommend Verizon since they actually have a functioning LTE network in the US as opposed to ATT(which basically calls its UMTS network as 4G).
Hopefully I have totally confused you so as I mentioned wait and see what they come out with in 10 days and then you can ping me again.

On the new Ipad 4G (Verizon) - I am unable to Hotspot it with the USB Cable. I can do it with Wi-Fi and Blue Tooth just fine - but not directly connected from the iPad3 to a Windows 7 PC. Attach the cable to your iPad and then to the USB, than go to settings chose the third option "personal hot spot" turn it on, a notification will pop up asking you if you want to use wifi or Bluetooth just select no and automatically work.

Verizon does offer Personal Hotspot (aka "tethering") for the iPhone. You will have pay extra for the service. Contact Verizon to get pricing.

I purchased a new ipad 3. I have all of my apps synced to the new ipad. Can I now Erase and Delete all of the data off the old ipad without effecting my account?

I just bought the new iPad over the weekend. Restored from the old iPad backup - got everything moved onto the new one gave the old one to my daughter - wiped my 4 email accounts off of the old device and then she proceeded to delete all but about 3 apps from the thing. It had no effect on my new iPad.

You can use an iPhone as a personal hotspot (if your carrier supports it), or get a mifi device and use that as a mobile hotspot for it - the iPad will see them as wifi networks.

I have a similar issue...my uncle asked what I wanted as a present and I said a new ipad came out with support for Australian 4G networks and to get that...it's the 'new' ipad. Of course he went into the store and asked for the latest 'new' ipad on 28/10 and they sold him an ipad3 which retailed for the same price as an ipad4.
So when I got it I was advised by the telco that my version was not compatible. I called applecare to ask them if I could swap it being 1 week out from purchase and of course they said go back to the store it was purchased from. No surprises the store doesn't want anything to do with it, they just want to get rid of their old stock.
Now I am stuck with an ipad which I did not want (I specifically did not want the ipad3 because it did not support our local networks' 4G) and Apple have washed their hands of it.
This is terrible policy...at first I was upset Apple or the reseller won't exchange it but really I don't blame the reseller now...my grief is in the stupid Apple naming policy..."oh it's the new ipad with retina display now" .... hang on a second the ipad3 was also the 'new' ipad with retina display (maybe not by name) and was never referred to as the ipad 3rd gen...now they're saying oh it's now the ipad3 you want the ipad with retina display...guess what your stupid naming convention means half the noobs out there don't know what they're buying.
The identical naming convention has caused my uncle to purchase an obsolete product for top dollar...I have an iphone 3g, 4, 4s, touch, etc. well I think it's safe to say android is the future. I'm already finding streaming media is made impossible by Apple's DRM and policies...something my $100 andoid tablet can do easy.

Does anyone else have issues with Verizon LTE service on the new iPad?

I have the new iPad. I have noticed that issues with the LTE signal have gotten progressively worse. When my iPad is sitting in 1 spot it will switch from 3 bars, to no service, to 3 bars, and so fourth. I might be on a website, or in an app that is using data and it works great. Then at random it says No Service again. I just added my iPad to my Verizon account with their new family data plan, so they sent me a brand new SIM card. I feel like I can rule that out.
I just want to know if anybody else has an issue with their iPad dropping service at random and jumping all over the board. I also have an iPhone on Verizon and it is with me always, I never have this problem with the iPhone. My iPad will say No Service but my iPhone will show nearly full service.
Just to add, I have switched off LTE for periods of time to see if things change. (that way both my iPhone and iPad are on 3G so I can compare) Things are no different when just running LTE.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. I am under warrenty and I have Apple Care. I hate taking stuff in and replacing it if I don't need to.
I am also signed up with a developer account through Apple, and my iPad has iOS 6 beta. This problem did not start with the beta software. It was the case before and after. I guess I was hoping if it was an issue Apple would address it with one of the revisions in iOS 6, but now I am starting to wonder if it is hardware.

How easy it is travel abroad with the Verizon model of the new iPad?

On the specs listed on Apple's site for the new iPad, it lists GSM frequencies under Verizon model as well !!!
I am sure that one can't use AT&T SIM on the Verizon model, something must have been locked to prevent that.
But does anyone know how easy it is to pop in a foreign country 3G GSM micro-sim when travelling abroad into the new model Verizon iPad?
I have already ordered an AT&T model, but later realized that even the Verizon model shows GSM capabilities. If I could find conclusively about the foreign 3G GSM freedom on Verizon, I will definitely exchange my AT&T model for a Verizon one.

I don't think CDMA uses SIM card at all, hence no SIM slot in ipad 2 VZ model.
But LTE requires a SIM card, the VZ model of the ipad 3 is forced to have a SIM slot.

It's good (I am hoping truly that's the case) that Apple also allowed 3G GSM capability, this means one can pop out the VZ LTE micro-SIM and pop in any 3G micro-SIM.
I think there might be some lines of code from Apple to at least prevent an AT&T micro-SIM to work on a VZ ipad 3 just to prevent VZ from getting upset.
But other 3G micro-SIM's should work on VZ model. We can only find out on the 16th.

That is Pages for iPad v2.0, which Pages '09 v4.3 can't read.
You need to either stick with the older version of Pages on the iPad or get Pages 5 for the Mac which is only available if you are running OSX 10.9 Mavericks.
Unfortunately that is not the end of your woes because Apple has made iCloud convert the files to Pages 5 now, and Pages 5 has over 90 features deleted on top of doing a shocking job of converting older Pages files.

You don't transfer Apple ID's from one device to another one. You sign out in the settings, )the App Store and iTunes if necessary) and then sign in with the other ID.
Settings>iTunes & App Stores>Apple ID>Sign out. Them sign in with the other ID. You can sign out of the app store and iTunes as well by going to the featured Atab in the App Store and the music tab in iTunes, swipe to the bottom and access the Apple ID in there.
You should have erased the iOad before you gave it to her in Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings. That way she could set up the iPad as new with her own Apple ID.
Be aware of the fact that if you use each others ID's in order to download past purchased content to your own iPads, you will lock yourself out of your own ID as you will have associated your iPad with the other person's Apple ID.
In other words, if you sign into your wife's ID on your iPad so that you can download an app or an album so that you don't have to pay for it again, you will lock yourself out of your Apple ID for 90 days.

This is what I get for buying an Ipad twice in a week because of a broken screen? $500 the first buy and then another $299 plus tax for the swaped out one that I can't restore with my backup data.

I assume that you will have to set up as new since it will not let you restore from the backup. Then after you set it up, you can restore from the iCloud backup. The backup should not disappear be use you are setting this device up as new. Your backup should still be in iCloud.
However, after you activate the iPd and update the software, you will have to erase the device in order to restore from the Cloud backup, that is the only way to get to the iCloud backup.
