Is the newest macbook (2014) model A1425 or A1502?
I am getting a 2014 Macbook pro with retina display. I was looking on amazon for a case bundle for the Macbook pro 13 inch with retina. The case I found fits Models A1425 and A1502. Will the case fit the Macbook I am getting?
The 13-inch models are A1502. The 15-inch ones are A1398.

The "low" capacity of the SSD on the Air and entry level Retina are meant to be working platforms for these computers.
Meaning ALL your programs and your working data (stuff you use at least every week).
To try to use either the Air or Retina as a storage platform of any king (lots of pics, music, movies etc.) is both not indicated or practical.
external storage, quality too, is absurdly cheap right now.

Thanks Community! I solved the problem. In fact it was not a problem but lack of understanding. These guys at Apple are way ahead in thir thinking. I will try to explain as short as I can.
In Lion, ihe Prefferences/Display show only two choices: 6-7 steps of resolution and some color tab. No two screens, no two display to overlap, nothing for us to do. "That was the problem"! Everything is automatic.
When I connected the HDMI cable to the Miniport into a T-bolt slot, the TV screen showed the "spiral galaxy" how Zyriab is calling it. In fact he gave me the best clue. That shows the connection is good. But where is the Mac Book image?
You have to drag it to the right out of the Mac Book display area, and "voila!" it will continue on the TV screen. The same with the mouse pointer, push it out ofthe Mac Book display area and you see it on the TV sreen. Good image, you can keep the max resolution, etc. The sound is still on the Book's speakers. I have to figure that out.

How does one continue to use Mail on the early MacBook Pro, Model 1,1, that is not upgradable to Lion? I have been running iCloud on my iPhone (OS5) and iMac (Lion) along with the MacBook Pro (OS Version 10.6.8) since November until now. Mail will no longer download on the MacBook Pro and keeps asking for my password.
Mail should still be usable with your machine - but you'll need to update the settings to conform to the requirements of your system. Check with your ISP (like ATT, etc.) for the settings that will work with your Mail. Once you've updated this, you should be able to email like before.
For example, my ISP required that I go to Mail Preferences/Accounts and make sure the details conform to your email settings.
I have no idea of what your ISP is or what the settings might be, but this is likely the source of the problem. -

when you have the same issue after the SMC reset:
put new batteries in the MM (even if the others are not empty), turn Bluetooth off then on again on the MBA, take all USB connections out (if any), delete the pairing of the MM and re pair the MM. -

Click Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings
Back to Safari. Press Command + Option + E to empty the Safari cache.
Quit and relaunch Safari, try a video. -

as the newest macbooks ship with snowleopard - can 10.5 be installed ok? have done this to one of our machines and there are no audio options available in the input/output of the system preferences which makes me think it's a driver problem. have tried a few things suggested on the forum when people have this and even tried using pacifst to export what i thought is the kext audio file and installing using a kext app... anyone have any ideas?
Well, I take that back...there is a potential workaround. You can try and apply your 10.5.8 image to the new computer. It may work. It may not. It may fully work. It may have some oddities.
I did this once when 10.5 laptops came out and we needed 10.4. I applied the 10.4 image to the new Mac, and while it did boot and seemed to work fine, you couldn't adjust...via the keyboard...display brightness, volume and a few other minor things. Also, the fans seemed to run faster/louder than normal.

my current version of premiere is 2014.0 and the manager tells me everything is up to date. after deinstalling and reinstalling i am still with version 2014.0
