Is the screen surface affected by the adhesive on a screen protector film

Is the screen surface affected by the adhesive on a screen protector film?

the adhesives used for protectors rarely leave a film or residue, unless they are low quality. I reccommend the amFilm brand screen protectors over all others because it doesnt have a sticky adhesive. Heres more info

  • I have the same case with you an iPad Air in dead pixel or speckle silver dust on screen.  It is been 3 months I bought in Avant Abenson in Greenbelt Makati Philippines. Today I decided to change my screen protector film but the speckle dust on the screen

Speckles dust on the screen and it cannot be removed today when I decided to change the screen protector film and noticed is not my fault it is a factory defect on screen it is either dead pixel or speckle dust on screen they are so many said and experience I have read.  So I need the replacement a new one for that dismayed screen on my iPad Air. I bought this 3 months ago in Avant Abenson at Greenbelt Makati Philippines.  I need the replacement for tomorrow I will go to the store I bought.  I love apple products but they need to replace and make go round to improve some defects and cannot be more escalate with this issue of the many of patronizing your products.  It is sometimes irritating to the eyes and seen dirt on the screen.  Thank you apple customer service to bringing up my complaints and a replacement for tomorrow's to inform the store I bought and advise them here in the Philippines to facilitate in regards to this matter.

I wanted to buy an ipad air to replace my ipad 2 but the one I wanted was (luckily) sold out.
Yesterday I tested the air from a collegue and I noticed the screen was SUBSTANTIALLY less sensitive than the screen of my ipad 2 when using my stylus.
I use Stylus R US especially for I annotate and with the air this did not work well at all... Half of the time there was no contact registered so underying certain parts of the text was a disaster...
Just working with the finger all whent OK... Just fear that another app I use a lot (notes +) will have same problem.
On the Ipad 4 also retina all goes *** smooth as on my ipad 2...
Is this a fault of a specific ipad air series? Or is this normal?? If it is I think this is truelly a huge flaw and I cannot see how not manny people using the ipad for notetaking etc did not notice this...

  • Will screen protector film lower retina display's quality?

Will screen protector film lower retina display's quality? If not at all, which one can you recommend (bubble free, guarantee, easy to install). I am studying graphic and web design and do not want the lose the quality of the screen. Thanks!

Yes I meant anti-glare, sorry about that
I am very against the idea of keyboard covers because they make the keys feel very "mushy" and they lose that clicky feeling. They wont protect your Mac from spills but they will protect your keyboard from dust and hair from getting in, if that's a concern of yours.
A carrying sleeve is a very good idea because I hate getting unsightly dents/scratches on my Mac. But I personally prefer using a hard shell case instead because it protects your Mac while you're using it, rather than just when your Mac is being carried.
As for cleaning it, I use a microfiber cloth I got with my glasses to clean the screen. I use a paper towel with some water to clean the rest of the body (make sure it's off first ) I cleaned my keyboard for the first time after 4 years of having it and it was pretty filthy. You can just pull the keycap straight off the Mac to clean underneath using a q-tip. Be careful with this because it may be difficult to put the keycap back in properly. The most important cleaning you can do is unscrewing the bottom off and using some compressed air to blow out the dust. I'd recommend doing this once a year.

  • Best screen Protector film for PB?

Can you help?  I installed  a screen protector film for my PB but no matter how hard I tried there were air pockets.  Any suggestion for:
    1.  Which is the best to purchase and from where?

  • Best screen protector film? Anyone have ideas? ipod 5th gen.

Like title says? I wonder who makes the best and most durable screen gaurds/films?

Thanks but Zagg seems way too expensive for what you get. I am actually trying some amazon.ca specials. Price was right so I will see how it works.

  • Ipad screen protector film

Is ipad with retina display comes with any screen protector? Or apple produces the same for separate sales? otherwise which is the other go?

If older kids and adults use the iPad, you don't really need a screen protector. If very young kids use the iPad, a screen protector might provide protection of the screen if the kid drags a toy or some sharp object across the screen. I installed one because my grandkids use the iPad.

  • Is using a front screen protector film on iPhone 4 oleophobic screen ok?

Just wondering if anyone can confirm 100% if using a film from bestskinsever or zagg will harm the oleophobic coating on the screen. It seems to be in contention either way. Is this fact or myth?

I tried the Zagg (made by Invisishield) and really did not like it at all. Apple sells PowerSupport products, probably because they are well made and are dry mount. And unlike Zagg, they look good the moment they're installed and need time to cure, or get bubbles out. But, there are load and loads of people who have Zagg films on their iP4 and I haven't seen one thread or post that claimed it hurt their screen in any way......

  • Z1 Screen protector, once again.

My Enlish is far from pefect, but here we go.
I'm thinking about buing an Z1, for the moment I've Samsung phones.
What makes me think twice is the original screen protector that is pre-installed on the Z1.
Idon't like to get scraches, so a screen protector is a good thing - but the Sony proection cancan't be removed, so what purpse is it to have there?
Mess it up and the screen/phone is ruined.
Is it possible to install an extra screen protector film over the original one?
Is it posible to remove the after market protection without messing up the original one?
If I, in the future, want to replace the original screen protector, is it possible to do that and how much would it cost? Guess it would be to send the phone to Sony service?
Do the warranty cover scratches on the original screen protector?

absolutely agree with you that glass screen is great. I bought it from here (actually not cost much), and it works well until now. My touch sceen is clear  and sensitive as usual.
And i tried to scratch it with a knife like the video do , it really suprised me. There was nothing on the surface finally.  But it has a disadvantage. It's easy to stay the fingerprints like the result on a real LCD screen.

  • Ipad 3 anti glare screen protector

I suffer from headaches from my new Ipad 3.
I also suffered with them on my Ipad 1 but used a Media Devil anti glare screen protector and the problem was solved.
I have tried the Media Devil on the Ipad 3 but it does not work very well as the resolution of the Retina screen is increased.
This causes the screen to pixalate.
Can anybody recommend an Anti Glare screen protector that works with the Ipad 3 Retina screen.
I have seen the Mosi AG advertised on line has anybody tried this on the ipad 3 ?
Does it pixalate the screen ?

  • Will screen protector affect the quality of the front facing camera?

I got my screen protector cut out and fitted on my phone in Hanoi very cheaply - looks great. However, they were not able to cut out the hole for the front facing camera as well as I would want it to look like (it was either to big or not round enough, etc). So I ended up with a screen protector covering my front facing camera.
They said this will not affect the quality of the front facing camera. However, Lenovo S90 has a 8MP front facing camera, so I it's not like fitting a screen protector on a 5 year old nokia with VGA front camera. How much do you think this will affect the quality of the front facing camera? Unless I can compare 1:1 pics, its hard to say.
I know the Lenovo original screen protector has a hole for the flash light, camera, and the sensor. So I wonder if anyone at Lenovo ever tested how does screen protector affect the quality of the camera? (Btw. I really do not see a need for a hole for the proximity sensor, it seems to work well with screen protector on it, so why bother?)
P.S. I am currently in KL, JameZ, so I was wondering if Lenovo KL can do a screen protector for S90 and how much would that cost. My screen protector is actually so well done that you could not say there is a screen protector on the phone. I only worry about the quality of the front facing camera.

    Welcome to Malaysia mate!
I think the best place to get screen protectors in Malaysia (KL) would be Low Yat Plaza. At the 3rd floor, there are heaps of shops selling accessories.
Separately, I use glass based protectors and they are do have holes for Proximity sensor, light sensor and front cam.
I don't think the screen protector would affect the quality of the front cam but rather the light sensor.
Also if the screen protector you use is clear, it should be fine. Take a selfie!

  • Does anyone know if the new iPad fits the Powersupport screen protector for the iPad 2? And if so, where can I get it installed?

Hey, I was just wondering because I am purchasing my New iPad on Sunday! So excited! But I want to order a screen protector before I go and purchase it. I heard you could get screen protectors installed at Best Buy, but I'm not sure!! Please help!

I just got the powersupport crystal fil for the iPad2 and installed it on my new iPad (3rd gen). It fits perfectly and so far it doesn't affect anything (proximity, portrait/landscape rotation). in my opinion it's the best screen protector for the iPhone so naturally I thought i'd give it a go on the iPad (no adhesive, easy install, great quality etc). One note though, I'm not sure if the anti-glare one would work well on the new iPad with the retina display. I know the iPhone 4 uses a different one than the 3GS. Oh and Best Buy doesn't sell the powersupport.

  • I have this weird stain in my ipad screen and screen protector that has formed around a crack in the glass.

Some time ago my ipad 4 screen slowly began forming a long hairline crack at one corner and near the home button for some reason, perhaps daily rough and tumble taking it to class and whatnot.  The crack is not very noticeable so I have delayed getting the screen repaired.
I used to have a Boxwave Cleartouch Ultra screen protector on, and as directed, would peel it off now and then to give it a good wash(it's one of those reusable ones with adhesive on the edges only and yes they are meant to be washed now and then).  One day after doing this, I noticed a strange puddle of tiny round stains clustering near the crack.  I didn't think much of it until I equipped my ipad with a stronger ipad case with it's own screen protector.  The stain seemed to cling onto the Boxwave screen protector even after cleaning.  Now with a new screen protector the stains around the crack were these tiny rainbowy areas around the crack that sat on top of the glass and were visible as just some kind of smudge when the screen was turned off.  I recently discovered the stain has transferred to my new screen protector when I remove it and is visible when you look at it at an angle when removed from the ipad. Not even dish soap seems to get rid of it.
I am wondering what this stain could be, I mean there is no liquid pooling out of the digitizer or anything.  One idea I have is that maybe some adhesive from the first screen protector got loose after washing and pooled into the crack and thats why they have a smudgy appearance that they got when wiping the screen dry.  There are no liquid stains under the crack however.  Another thing I thought of was maybe something to do with oleophobic coating and the crack itself.  I am also wondering how  to get rod of it safety.

    You are welcome.

  • HT203671 What if I use a screen protector together with the keyboard top case?

Does a screen protector keep the screen from being damaged by a keyboard top case?
According to some saying, the screen could be damaged by any accessory between the keyboard and screen because there is a coating on the screen. Then anything between the keyboard and screen would hurt the coating the leave a scratch on the screen. So if I put a protector onto the screen, does it protect the coating from being hurt? Or does the back-adhesive protector itself hurt the coating (because it is adhesive)?

So I'm sure you're aware of this:
My Retina Display has stain damage, HELP!!!
So if you're aware of that then you know there is a total controversy about this problem.
"Does a screen protector keep the screen from being damaged by a keyboard top case?"
Some people there swear by them and some people say "anything between the keyboard and screen would hurt the coating"
So I would say "absolutely maybe!"
Sorry to be like that but we have so little information about this problem.
"does the back-adhesive protector itself hurt the coating (because it is adhesive)?"
I would say to avoid anything that has an adhesive on it. Some people have said that they cover their keyboard with a microfiber cloth but again I would say "this is purely anecdotal hearsay not based on science or actual testing."
I feel this problem is caused by outgassing of the keys or plastic in the computer.
If we knew more about the nature of the coating then maybe we'd have a course of action. I'd research the coating and see if there was a way to protect it.
    Good luck!

  • Is it necessary to have a screen protector for the iphone 5?

does it help protect the screen because it affects the resolution when it exists....

I'm note sure I quite agree with tonefox, but taking his point, it may or may not be necassary for you. While I do not have one - nor feel I need one - for my iPad, I certainly do have on on my iPhone. I've seen the conditions of all of my cell phones at the end of a two year contract. Scratched like they have been on the bad end of a cat fight. So I got an Otterbox Commuter for the phone, which included the screen protector. Even if I eventually choose to go commando with the phone in terms of a case (and I might), I'll keep a screen protector on it.
BTW: a decent screen protector should NOT effect the resolution of the screen. That's typically a sign of an inferior one.
