Is the store down/dead?

I can't download season passes, log in, nothing. On two separate machines I get the annoying "We're sorry, we cannot complete your request on the iTunes Store at this time." when I try anything... ugghghgh
I can browse the store, preview things... But that's it.. I have an episode that is ready to download, but there's no way for me to get the product I've already been billed for.

Weird... It shows me the 'Sign In' link on my computer which is totally borked right now (well on two machines actually). But I also get the 'Purchased' link on the right side towards the top. That link does work and I can view all my purchased music, but the store acts as if I'm not logged in. Extra annoying as I have a new season episode ready to download, but I wont be able to watch it tonight anymore

    I'm trying to buy Mountain Lion but I keep getting an error message about failing to connect when I click on the BUY button. I've been trying for about an hour, periodically, reading support information in between tries.  I have checked my ID is correct and cleared my cache in iTunes as suggested in another thread.
    I just want to verify that it is the store and not something I can fix. If the store is down, does this happen often and about how long might it take before it's up again?

    It appears to be down.  I was just now trying to sign back into the Mac App Store, and I get the "Connection failed" error.  Let's just give this some time for Apple to get it fixed.  It's happening on two of my computers, so I don't think there's anything that can be done on your end to fix it.  It also looks like my iTunes Match isn't working either.  All of this stuff is linked through my Apple I.D.  Bummer

    Check this forum.  Usually when the store is down there's a rash of individual posts all asking the same thing (as there is right now).  It isn't totally unheard of for the Store to occasionally go down for a little while.  I remember when I was a kid we had to walk uphill both ways to the record store... (or was it wax cylinders?)

    The dropdown list "Store Files" in the "Import Settings" section of Aperture 3.3.2 displays the history of the entries previously added to the list.     Is the MacOS X version in your signature correct? Then you cannot be using Aperture 3.3.2?
    You should not be seeing duplicate entries in the "Store Files" pop-up menu. This looks like your Aperture Preferences file is corrupted and needs fixing.
    Quit Aperture (and log off and on again, if you are running MacOS X 10.7 or later)
    Then reveal your User Library (from the Finder's main menu bar, the "Go" menu. Hold down the options-key until the library apears in the drop-down menu)
    In the Library folder select the "Preferences folder and locate the file "~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Aperture.plist"
    Now you can either
    remove the com.apple.Aperture.plist file to the Desktop, to force Aperture to create a new one, but you will have to set again your Preferences from the "Preferences" panel,
    or make a backup copy of the file and edit it, if you are an experienced programmer and have Xcode installed. To fix the drop-down list you need to edit the item "RecentReferenceFolders" and delete the redundant folder names. Enter "recent" into the search field to find it quickly. If you click an item in the list, plus/minus buttons should appear. But only try this, if you know how to edit property lists, otherwise it will be much safer to delete the faulty list and to set your preferences again from the "Preferences" panel.

    Okay. My old laptop died. I didn't use iTunes much on it but I had it and I'd authorized that and my iPhone. On my account it showed the old computer and my iPhone as Authorized.
    I went to the support to find out how to authorize this computer when I could not download the albums I bought. The support tab told me to open the Store menu in iTunes and choose to authorize the computer on its menu.
    Trouble is, there is no "Store" menu. Clicking on Store takes me to a page that's mostly trying to sell me albums I never heard of in genres I don't like and has a tiny little section off to the side where I can check my account, redeem, look at what I purchased and something else but not "authorize new computer."
    My old computer is toast. It's dead. I can't access iTunes through it. On the new one I have iTunes downloaded for the 64 bit version and I've got Windows 7.
    I need to know why I don't have that menu or that option and how I can authorize this computer without it.

  • I have just recieved a brand new ipod touch 8GB, it wont turn on and it wont either charge or recognise connection through ITunes. I have tried the hold down home and the power button together but no luck. Its absolutely dead, any ideas please ????

    I've been getting the same message for like an hour now.  Since everything was working fine a few hours ago, and nothing changed on my end before it stopped working, I'm guessing it's something on Apple's end.  They probably already know about it by now, and are hopefully working on fixing it, so there's probably not much we can do but wait for them to fix it.

    Just deleting and reinstalling the software won't delete your music. Your music is stored on your computer. But, you should backup your iTunes purchases on a timely basis regardless.

    I've not been able to connect to the Apple App Store or iTunes store since yesterday 07/20/12. I've tried with my MacBook Air, iPad and iPhone and just keep getting the message that the device is not able to connect to the store and to check my network connection.  I can access any other web page from all three devices.  Does anyone know if the Apple store crashed or is down for maintenance?

    Other users have been reporting similar issues today...
    In some cases, signing out and then back into the iTunes store fixed the problem.

    Turning off the auto-renew does not cancel the service. To actually cancel, or turn off the service, you need to contact iTunes Store support. What the instructions are are getting is telling you to do is to cancel the auto-renew. You can accomplish that by, in iTunes:

    You reinstalled an old version of iPhoto after you updated your library to the newer version.
    Update ALL your software and try again.
    Click the Apple Menu at the upper left-hand corner of your screen and select "Software Update..."
    Repeat until it tells you there are no more updates.
    AND, launch the App Store application located in your Applications folder to see if there are any updates there as well.

    2 GB of RAM is pretty tight. I imagine that's at the very low end of what Yosemite wants, which could slow things down.
    As far as scroll direction, you can always change it in the trackpad settings. Unsure why it got flipped, but you can fix it in about 5 seconds. Choose "natural" (or don't) depending on how you like it.
