I've been with this service for nearly 2 years now and the problems just mount up. I had an account for close to 2 years on EE itself which suddenly does not exist. Advised by customer service agents to 'Sign up' for a new one. Try signing up, get to enter Bank account details - can only put in 4 digits. In what millenia were bank account numbers only 4 digits long? Why am I wasting an hour of my time fault finding for your developers? I should charge you £50 a hour for this waste of my time. Fire your project manager for this new website revamp, fire the developers and get someone in who can transition accounts from one system to another without destroying the whole user experience. Absolute disgrace, don't message me about Apps and how I should log in to my account for offers when I can't do any of that. I would advise anyone new to EE here to cancel your account within the 14 day grace period, you'll have neverending issues from fake data charges, extortionate roaming costs, somehow paying for data when on Wifi and much more.

In System Preferences, I can't log into iCloud. It tells me that either my AppleID or my password is wrong -- which it isn't. My MBP also won't let me update apps OR purchase apps -- same deal..tells me wrong ID or password. Yet I can manage acct. Help!

It's very frustrating.... I've uploaded all of my music to iMatch and I can get it all on my iPhone, but now on my MBP, it's all back on my computer and I'm unable to sync my phone with my computer (in iTunes, I get the rainbow wheel of death and have to force quit) with the cable for the inital set up (just got the phone) so that I can then do it with wifi in the future. ARGH! I've spent hours for the last 2 evenings with a great Apple Tech, but she hasn't been able to figure it out either -- said that she had another customer with the same problem....

She was as frustrated as I and was going to kick the problem "upstairs." She felt that by now iCloud had been out long enough for them to have resolved the issues without having to resort to fixes from the outside (so in essence, I would have to say that she agrees with you that they should be able to provide a resolution for their own software).
I have more than just that issue on my MBP (iPhoto keeps asking me to "upgrade" everytime I open it, old Safari windows open when I restart or turn the machine on from a shutdown....I think it's possessed. I'm able to do everything that I want to do, but it's very annoying....) and so I'll be working with her again when she returns to work on Monday. I do have to say that she doesn't rush and has spent at a minimum 2 hours each night for the last 2 nights with me over the phone (talk about califlower ear!)
She had me do a reinstall of Lion last night and as far as I can tell, it fixed nothing....

Can't Log into my Firm's ExtraWeb! Is Boot Camp/XT the Answer?

I was very disappointed when I got the following message after trying to log into my firms' Lotus Notes-based system (IBM) over the web using my MBA (as opposed to my firm's "standard issue" Dell):
"You can not be granted access to ExtraWeb because your computer doesn't have the required configuration:
ExtraWeb is only supported on Microsoft Windows (Your operating system is Intel Mac OS X)
ExtraWeb is only supported with Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 5.01 or higher (Your web browser is Netscape version 5.0)
ActiveX controls are not enabled or supported by your web browser."
My question is whether logging in on my MBA under Windows/Internet Explorer after the full installation via Boot Camp will do the trick. I'm guessing (and hoping) "yes" but I am missing something?

Yes either Boot Camp or Parallels is going to work. I have same restrictions at work - can only connect with MSIE 5.0 or higher. Actually using IE7 under Parallels running XP SP2 works just fine for me.

I have a Mac mini running the latest version of OS X and Server. Been running fine and flawlessly. However, I had a strange problem with the iCloud preferences panel crashing when I tried to access it, so I rebooted. Now I can not log into the system with any accounts. My master admin account (along with all the others) gives me the error:

I am able to see the server from other macs and I can log into it using the same account, but it only shows me a few of the shared folders I have access to but NOT to my main directories.
Rebooting into Command-R and doing a disk utility, I try and repair permission on that drive and get a bunch of errors like:
ACL found but not expected on Users
Repaired "Users"
ACL found but not expected on Users/.localized
Repaired "Users/.localized"
ACL found but not expected on Users/Shared
Repaired "Users/shared"
ACL found but not expected on Users/Shared/.localized
Repaired "Users/Shared/.localized"
Permissions repair complete.
But rebooting is no joy...same problem. Any idea what is going on or how to repair it? Should I do a time machine restore? Complete new OS X install? Any idea what is causing this or how to salvage it?

Got everything to re-install and it worked fine...for a few hours. Then I came in to find ALL of my network users deleted. Just GONE. Then found out the Open Directory was trashed and was unable to open, recover or restore from a backup. Looks like I may have a bad drive here.
I installed a new drive in the system, re-installed and so far (for a couple of hours anyway) the system seems to be working and stable.

Stick the 10.6 disk into the machine and reboot holding the option/alt key down on a wired/built in keyboard.
On the second screen, under the Utilities menu is a Password Reset, use it.

First, check the caps lock on your PC keyboard. I know this sounds a bit silly, but we've all done it. If it turns out caps lock was on, then just enter all caps on the iPad.
If that's not the problem, try opening Notes and type your password sonyouncan see it. If you're not getting what you expect, try slowing down.

Syncing your phones to the same iCloud account won't cause them to both ring all the time, it only puts the same contacts, calendars, and other synced data on the phone. The phones will only ring with someone calls the number associated with the phone.
If you want to stop using iCloud on one or both of the phones, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then choose Keep On My iPhone when prompted. This will disconnect them from iCloud and keep a copy of the synced data on the phone.

You can't.
Move some more data to that other drive to free up space on the startup drive.
Don't forget to empty the Trash.
