Is the "Time Allowed" enforced per course session launch or cumulative?

Regarding Captivate 5:
Publish Settings: SCORM 1.2
Manifest setting: Time Allowed
If I have entered 3:00:00 (3 hours) as the Time Allowed, with unlimited attempts allowed, is the 3 hours enforced at the Session level (cmi.core.session_time) or at the Total level (cmi.core.total_time).
Scenario: A user takes 2.5 hours in their first session, completes the course, and is intructed to retake it. A week later, they launch the course again to retake it. Will they experience an issue after 30 minutes have passed because their total_time measurement has exceeded 3?
Summary: I want the 3 hour time limit to apply to the session_time, so that each fresh attempt of the course they have 3 hours to complete it, so I am hoping the limt does not apply to the total_time. I asked the LMS vendor if they perform the calculation, and they said this is controled by Captivate, not by the LMS.

Once your user closes down the SCO session, any variables will be lost unless they are reported to the LMS and stored in its database.
So unless the LMS is tracking the total time spent on the SCO, the next time the user opens that same SCO it's not going to remember how much time they've spent on it.

ingeneral which method we can use to read the Time data and how can we upload that data into SAP system. Please any one can answer this asap.

In the recent project that I have done.. the time data is uploaded from the external time recording machine.. in the form a file...
The other way is through CATS... which in turn will populate the time entries as per hte work schedules... and will explicitly have to populate the deviations to the work scheudle by going through transactions..

How to measure the time?

i have two buttons. first the user has to press the first button, then he has to press the second one. I want to measure the time between the two clicks? How can I do this?

The method with the timer will work fine in this case...I thinck that creating a timer with a period of 50-100 miliseconds will do the job(this depends of course on the amount of elapsed time that you generaly expect to pass )...the time error will be less than the period of the timer...Of course,this is in client server..
In web,I thinck you need to use the JAva way...in fact,you can use the java class even in client-server with the java importer...
If you use a java class even in c-s,the results will be very accurate

Airport Utility Timed Access Control does not allow/restrict access to wireless clients per the time set.

I have been trying to setup Timed Access Control in Airport Utility and it does not seem to be working correctly.
In Airport Utility from Edit Timed Access Control I Enter a name for my device (iPad/iPhone any device), enter my mac address, set time for Everyday and use default Between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, save and then update. When I go to my device iPad iPhone etc. I still have access even when it is after the time set, 5:00PM. If I set no access it will restrict access also I set a time between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM and access was restricted. It doesnt seem to matter what the device is. I know that the MAC Adress is set correctly. It seems like an issue with the Utility, possibly time miss match or something. Not sure if I am missing something or if this Utility just has flaws. Please Help.

I changed the default to (no access) and set an entry for my test device (an iPad) to "Everyday Between 9am to 5pm. The iPad was still able to gain access to the network.
Something else to note, if I try to edit the time of an entry it gives me an error on my MBP "Invalid value", "The value for “Timed Access Control” is invalid." This happens even if I delete a digit (number or letter in the time field) and replace with the exact same. Not sure if the two are related. I have tried to edit access from my iPad. I have recently switched from a PC to a MacBook Pro.
I have a large number of documents and photographs on a multiterrabite external drive, backed up on a second multiterrabite external drive.
Both external drives are formatted for MacIntosh. This has been verified by agents at an Apple store and also at Best Buy in two different cities.
This is the problem:
The MacBook Pro will not allow me to cut-and-paste to and from or to click-and-drag to the external drive. I can copy-and-paste, but then I must send the original to the trash, which doubles the time and effort. Is there any way to cut-and-paste?
Also, the MacBook Pro will not allow me to rename multiple documents or photographs. I can click-and-rename a single one, but this is impossibly time consuming. I can batch-rename in iPhoto, but when I transfer the photographs to the external drive, the rename does not transfer.
I’m reduced to using my wife’s Toshiba to cut-and-past, rename, and transfer documents. It works perfectly. Is there any way to do this on the MacBook Pro?

No, this is a philosophical difference between Apple and Microsoft. Apple believes that it's dangerous to cut a file in case the user never pastes it; in that case the file is lost. Microsoft seems to not have this problem (if I remember Windows correctly) because they don't delete the originating file if it's cut but never pasted.
Even though Macs have a lot of keyboard shortcuts, philosophically Macs have traditionally been mouse-first. This applies to file copy operations. In your case, what a Mac user would do is open the source window, open the destination window (on your second drive), and then Command-drag the selected files from the source to destination window. This is because a normal drag would leave the originals behind, while adding the Command modifier key tells OS X that this is a Move, not a Copy, so don't leave the originals behind.
(In addition there are different rules for drag-copying within the same volume or between different volumes. If you drag between two folders on the same volume, the files are moved. If you drag between different volumes, the files are copied unless you hold down Command to delete the copies on the source volume.)

Two problems in this case. First, batch file renaming is not built into OS X unless you build something with Automator. However, there are many utilities that can do batch file renaming which you can find at macupdate.com or on the App Store. Since I work with media I often batch rename using one of the media managers I have lying around like Media Pro or Adobe Bridge (comes with Photoshop).
iPhoto is a database front end designed to shield the file system from the consumer and let them concentrate on creativity and sharing. As such it is often a poor choice for managing files directly. When you "transferred the photographs" chances are you moved the originals, not the ones iPhoto edited which are stored in a hidden folder.

There will not be a way to do it exactly like Windows. As described above, there are ways to do it "the Mac way." If it is possible to remove judgment on which way is "better" you might find the Mac way to be acceptable, but of course sometimes we simply prefer what we're used to.

Session creation at the time of Form Login

I enabled my session params to manage weblogic session management in Properties file. I'm using LDAP Realm as a Users/groups repository for credentials checking. I'm using form authentication(weblogic.servlet.security) API to check my credentials. Here I'm facing few problems. I'm not using ACL's for user login. Only form based authentication I'm using for users login to app.
1. The weblogic is creating the session in the first request itlself... i.e. At the time of invoking form.jsp file itself the session has been creating. But I want after authentication only the session should be created for that user.
2. After the session has expired it's not giving any exception. Simply it's creating new session object for that user. How to capture that session time out to display my custom form to specifies that your session has been timed out and try to relogin.
Could you please come up with your suggestions how to achieve this..
I will certainly waiting for your reply as it's blocking my dev work.

The session has little to do with authentication. Rather, it provides a
means to correlate a series of otherwise random HTTP requests by determining
that the requests are all coming from the same inferred user agent (e.g. all
from the same browser instance).
When the user attempts to access any resource, the server (WebLogic) checks
to see if the resource is secured, which is to say that the user must have
specific permissions to access that resource. When such a resource is
requested, and the user has not been authenticated, then the server (in the
case of form based authentication) will send the user a login form. Once
that form is completed successfully (the user is authenticated), the user is
given the originally-requested resource, assuming of course that the user
has such a permission.
It is possible to determine when the session is new (HttpSession.isNew) and
it is possible to determine when it dies (using a session binding listener).
However, it is not possible to drive the client from the server, which
appears to be what you are asking.
It is possible to determine when the user tries to log in. This is
accomplished by replacing J_SECURITY_CHECK with your own servlet call, then
forwarding to J_SECURITY_CHECK.
It is possible to provide the authentication means, which is to say the
actual mechanism by which WebLogic determines if a user exists and if their
password is correct. This is a realm; a good example is the RDBMS realm,
for which source is included in WebLogic 5.1.

Do you have multiple readers reading from this EventHub, or have you setup multiple Stream Analystics jobs reading from this event hub. You are hitting a limitation of how many readers are allowed per EH consumer group.
What is the serialization format of your input (JSON/CSV)? Could you please verify the serialization format setup in the streaming job and if it matches your data?

With version 5 of Firefox, if I open more than 1 session, most of the time I cannot see anything in the navigation bar and my back and forward buttons do not work.

I open 1 session of Firefox 5.0.1 and everything seems to work fine. Then I open a second session of Firefox and most of the time the navigation bar does not show the page that I am on and the back and forward buttons do not work. When this happens, the first session always remains working. I am an internet marketer so I have at least 2 or 3 sessions going at any given time.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

HT3728 My Time Capsule won't allow me to access my home network each day (intermittently) between about 1000-1800. My modem is working properly, and I can get on-line by hooking my computer straight to my modem, so I know it's the Time Capsule at fault. I

My Time Capsule won't allow me to access my home wireless network for several hours each day -- usually between 1000-1830 or so. My modem is working correctly and I can still get on-line by going straight from my computer (MacBook Pro) to the Ethernet port. It must be the Time Capsule -- any ideas?

Wireless Interference
Might be caused by a cordless phone in the vicinity. To give you an example, my neighbor.....across the street...used to be able to literally crash my wireless network if he was in his front yard talking on his cordless phone.
I discovered this by accident one day after spending weeks trying figure out why my network would crash at random times.
Other possibilities include a wireless security/camera system near you
Still other things might be an amateur ham radio operator....which should not interfere....but again from experience, I know that this can occur.
Yet another possibility is another wireless network near you that is being turned on and off at random times. Some users power up their modem/router only when they want to do so and leave it off otherwise.
Some general rules to help avoid interference:
Move any cordless phones that you might have as far away as possible from the Time Capsule and/or your computer(s)
Avoid placing other electronic devices....computer, television, amplifier, satellite receiver, etc. near the Time Capsule and/or your computer(s)
Avoid metal surfaces near the Time Capsule and/or your computers
Elevate the Time Capsule as much as possible. Think of it as a water sprinkler....you want to get the room as wet as possible
Experiment with different wireless channels on the Time Capsule. To do this:
Open AirPort Utility
Click on the Time Capsule
Click Edit
Click the Wireless tab
Click Wireless Options
Start with Channel 11 on the 2.4 GHz band and work your way down
It is unlikely that you are picking up interference on the 5 GHz band since there are.....for now at least.....far fewer networks using this frequency.
