Is the Welcome and Registration sequence a one-time thing?

Greetings,
Since I live and work overseas, I have had my new 2.53 Macbook Pro shipped to a friend visiting the US, who will hand carry it to me in a few days. She has already given it the white glove inspection for dings and dents, since the first one I ordered had souring pad scratches to the left of the trackpad (yes, right out of the box). That one was sent back immediately...I didn't even turn it on!
On to my question: I would really like my friend in the US to turn the MBP on for the first time to check out the LCD and to listen for fan buzzing noises while she is still in the US, in case this one has to be returned too. BUT I am concerned that perhaps the opening "Welcome" and "registration" sequence when the computer is turned on, for the first time, is a one time thing, and obviously, I need to register it in my name. Plus, I like watching the welcome sequence.
Is there a way for my friend to turn on my Macbook Pro, look and listen for defects with the LCD and fans, but then somehow shut the computer down in a way where the whole welcome and registration sequence will launch again when I receive it and turn it on for the second time? If this cannot be done, I obviously will not have her power it up, but wait until it arrives to me in a couple of days.
Many thanks everyone for the help and advice.

I would have no way to know. Historically some data collectors have published user responded problem/defect surveys, but none have been reported since the early 2006 product releases. At that time MBPs had about a 30% problem/defect percentage, but that included any one of about 20 or so things a user could report including things that may not have even been true defects.
I purchased my new MBR about two weeks ago, and so far not a single problem. In fact since 2006 I've purchased a first and second generation MBP in addition to the most recent model, a second generation MB and iMac, and a first generation Mac Pro. I haven't had a single problem with any of them.
All I can tell you is that a small minority of users post here - those having problems some of which they may have caused themselves. And you cannot trust any media hype over supposed problems because they base their stories on what they read here then blow something completely out of proportion.
