Is the X-Fi Xtreme Notebook an ASIO Multrack Ca

Hi!? I'm using Adobe Audition 2.0, with an Alesis MultiMix 8 USB unit for recording. I'm using a Dell Latitude D620 laptop. I want to be able to monitor incoming recording tracks, but I need a "low-latency" ASIO multitrack sound card for that according to Adobe. The built-in Dell sound card has terrible latency and is unsuitable for monitoring. Does anyone know if the x-fi xtreme will fit my needs?
Thanks!!!
Matt

  • Can I polish the cover of my notebook?

    Hi
The polish on my notebook on the top is a little damaged. Is there anyway I can do something about it, is there a home polishkit I can buy?
    Thanks in advance!

    HI Marije,
I don't know of a repair kit that you can buy to repair damage to the finish of your notebook lid but you could try ordinary furniture polish. Don't use anything abrasive since this will damage the surface even more.
If the damage is really bad you can always get the lid replaced at a Service Agent but you will obviously have to pay for this.

  • I have the HP G72-259WM Notebook PC , Product Number: wq668ua which has worked out great for me.

I have the HP G72-259WM Notebook PC , Product Number:  wq668ua running WIndows 7 (64bit)  With 4GB of RAM and 1695MB video Ram. I just purchased a game (Star Wars: The Old Republic) and my laptop meets all the requirement stated on game accept one that I did not understand see until after the purchase. The Graphic card needs to run Shader 3.0 or greater. My Laptop is now out of warrenty and would like to upgrade my hardware. Can I either purchase a motherboard or graphics card in order to run this game instead of buying a whole new system? Note: the game states that there are a few different cards that work with this game and wonder if there is something equal to, or a little better that match there capibility that I can use? They are the ATI/AMD Radeon HD 4850, or NVIDA GeForceGTX 260 /512MB graphic cards.
I would like to use the all the same hardware with a new motherboard... unless the graphic card is seperate and if so can you tell me what I need to get and where? Thanks

  • HPtx2500 and the creative X-Fi Notebook SB0950 34mm Audio Card

I have an HP TX2500, touchscreen tablet (AMD dual core Turion 2.0mhz, 3 gb ram) and it has the AC97 Realtek Audio installed onboard. I need two separate outputs, one for an amplifier and the other for headphones and I don't care how I get it as long as it works. The AC97 does not seem to want to operate in a mode producing separate assignable output stereo channels, hence the reason for the Creative X-Fi Notebook card model SB0950. The Creative card seems however to be in contention with "something" in the tablet or in the Windows 7 OS. I have tried all of the available drivers on the Creative website and all I get is popping and clicking out of the X-Fi card. I've looked for X-Fi drivers on the HP website but the search produces 81238 nonspecific results and all I get is the X-Fi in desktops, not laptops, notebooks or tablets. I have deleted all of the audio drivers and then reinstalled them in different orders, same problem. I've tried adjusting processor performance, video performance, etc. nothing helps. Funny thing, when the tablet starts up, is going into login and the X-Fi is set as the default, it briefly works, hence the reason I believe it is some kind of driver contention.
Any clues out there, this thing is driving me nuts!
    Cheers, Dave

  • Will the 1tb and larger notebook drives work in my X60?

I am out of space on my hard disk and see now that notebook drives are available in 1tb and larger sizes. Someone told me that these drives, while still called 2.5" drives, are actually thicker than the 640gb and smaller notebook drives, and may not fit my computer.
Will one of the 1tb+ drives work in my X60?

you would need a 2.5 inch sata drive with 9.5 mm thickness, the max capacity you can get in that profile is 750 gigs. The 1 tb and anything larger are all 12.5 mm thick drive, and won't fit.

  • CPU Usage and the X-Fi Xtreme Gam

I've seen threads similar, but the problem is a little different. I just installed the basic driver and nothing else. And Ive even deleted the other files that aren't required that came with it. But my problem persists. I still see -27% of CPU usage after installing the driver from the website, immediately after installing it. (Had no driver previously). The thing is, in my processes list, my Idle is 99, and everything else on the list shows 00. Its really killing my gaming. Any answers?

    Hi Jayk88,
I think GreggH is talking about the one released on the 29th of May. This beta driver is meant for the X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI version only. The latest beta driver for the PCI-e card dates back to 6th Feb.

  • Problems with the X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook external card..

I recently updated my drivers for this card on my laptop to find out that updating my drivers meant causing my card to stop working. Before I decided to update through vista (probably a bad idea, but I really was hoping to get my new headset to work with Ventrilo and this seemed like the only route left after working on it for hours), the card was working fine. Music sounded amazing, etc etc. However, upon completion of the downlaod and restarting of my computer, the audio driver just stopped working completely.
At this point, this is what is going on: <img><span class="Apple-style-span"]http://img75.imageshack.us/my.php?image=helpmeyk3.jpg</img> .
I've gone to my devices through the control panel and attempted to revert to my old drivers, yet that doesn't work either. Nothing that I do seems to help, so I've just given up until I get someone who actually knows what they are doing. Here's my specs:
    Dell XPS M530 laptop
    Vista ?32-bit
    4gig RAM
    <span class="Apple-style-span">X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook
The headset in question is the Creative Fatality 3.5mm jack.
If there is anything else I can do, please let me know.
I just want this to work T_T been at it for around six hours now?

  • Why is beat audio on the HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC so terrible?

I have had bad experience with audio on HP notebooks previously....
    I had a dm1 which had a flawed duel mic/phones mini jack.
Years later (few months back), i was after new laptop.  Decided upon a bigger machine, again HP pav. 15.  I figured it would be alot better.  And really i didnt stop to consider the beats audio element, as it turns out, that was a fail...
Soon after use i discovered that there was alot of post processes happening to the audio;  ridiculous compression/limiter with huge dynamic fading in and out trigger by sharp hits.  So a big quick hit, which would be at unity (0db) makes the limiter and thus overall gain fade down to 1/3 volume over the space of 10-15 seconds.   Some tones and hits wont trigger the limiter.  Some will slowly bring the volume up.  Its remarkable.
EQ is forced.  Lets start with the bass....typical to beat phones, the beatsaudio in my hp pav. 15 adds loads of bass.
Lauching the panel shows some of the processes...on eq the default is seemly nonsensical som faders at 100 others at 50.  Putting the bass fader to 0 has little to no effect.  I tried to make the EQ 0 across the board, what happens?...silence.
You have to have one fader to at least 1.  Either bass, mid, treble, clarity, etc.  Having mid on 5 is the closest to bypass as you can get!
Which leads me on the bypassing.  You can uncheck use beats audio and opt for standard audio, wow perfect you think....wrong.  Click bypass and there is NO BASS WHATSOEVER.
Its clearly done on purpose to make people think beats audio is amazing and you have to use it.
Side issue; even with beats on and faders cranked the loudess output according to mixer is about 50-60%, so wierd.  With all the loudness processes its actually quiet.
Again, ridiculous.   How its anyone who actually likes music supposed to get on with this!
Movies/vocal/tv etc hardly triggers the comp/limiting at all so you have to really crank the volume..until a particular tone or hit will make the volume fade up.
Beats audio is making all audio terrible and theres seemingly no way around it.
My options are BUY external soundcard for couple of hundred, half lappy value, or find a way via drivers/software to sort it.
I have seen this problem on forums and the suggested fix is to find and edit the xml files beats uses.
I dont know which, but found about 10 xmls in appdata/local/ somewhere.  Opening in notepad it shows all the beatsaudio processes n each parameter there in.
I changed all the 'enable' from 1 (on/yes) to 0 (off/no) and generally zeroed everything.  Saving is a pain, have to open notepaad as admin then open xml by looking for 'any file', then edit, then save as, again having to select 'anyfile' and replace.  Took ages, even copying and pasting the whole text into each xml file.
Thought would be worth it to fix the problem and have a geniune bypass.  Not the case.
Its driving me mental.  What is HPs problem with audio.  Laptops with 10 years ago would be better than this because at least the output would be normal, uneffected audio.
Surely there a way to get rid of beats audio and run standard windows audio?
Or even just a perfected edit of the (correct) xml files to tell the processes to do nothing!
    Please help!

  • Red lining on the right corner of notebook

    hi....
i have a pavilion series dv4 1318tu notebook comp. with operating system vista.....
my notebook pc has a red lining on its right corner..
it is from up corner to down
plz tell me,how can i get rid of this problem????

First of all, you need to find out whether this red line is from your LCD Panel or from your Graphics Controller.
If you have an external LCD panel or monitor, connect this device via the VGA connector and to see if the red line also show up at this external display device.
If it does not, then your LCD panel is defective in this special area.
If it does, then the problem is more complicated. It could be the Graphics Driver, your system memory module, your discrete Frame Buffer memory ( if you have a discrete Graphics Controller ), ribbon cable between your motherboard and your LCD panel, Inverter inside the LCD panel and etc.
    You can try to use the following steps to see if it can resolve the problem for you;
    1. reload your Graphics Driver.
    2. Swap the memory modules.
    3. Use single memory module.
Depends on your expertise of opening up your notebook, you may want to check the Ribbon Cable between your motherboard and the LCD panel.

  • The keyboard of my notebook is acting funny

I bought this laptop September last so it is a bit too early for it to misbehave. Anyway, the buttons on the left side of the keyboard if typing different things.
This just happens to 1,2, q,w,a,s,z,x, caps lock, tab and escape. The thing is the letters 'q' and 'w' type both q and w; the same goes for a asnd s,( each types both a and s); the same goes for q and w and 1 and 2. I thought I could live with this until I realised that capslock. tab and escape control the volume.  This is hard to put up with especially when I am listening to music and working.
I've tried system restore twice but it did not work.
    (I use  Pavilion 13 windows 8.1)

  • Creative Labs sent me the email announcing that the X-Fi Xtreme Audio works withVista!

Why settle for basic, built-in sound? The ad asks.Wow look at all the specs...Speaker and Headphone connections for stereo to 7.Line In / Microphone In / Digital Out / Digital I/O / Auxiliary Line level Input?Wait a minute...this is the card I already have that I can only get drivers that makes me settle for basic sound. Better yet... I pulled it out and went back to my on board soudcard so I could get most the stuff that I am supposed to have with the X-Fi. This is what they offer for drivers for this card...Provides basic audio support and control options for sampling rate and speakers only. Looks to me that Creative is trying to dupe the public into buying products that is currently inferior.

Well, this is the newest driver that pulls up from?the model number of the one in the ad. Doesn't look certified to me and it only supplies basic functionality. Very misleading ad.

  • The LaVie Z - the World's lightest notebook

Announcing the world's lightest (to date) notebook, the LaVie Z!
"Not only lightweight, both models of the LaVie Z are extremely thin, measuring just 16.9 mm. Despite their record light weight and incredible thinness, they’re also unbelievably strong. Both machines use a specialized magnesium-lithium (Mg-Li)3 body construction along with specialized technologies including a Magnesium Lithium forged back cover. The materials are 50 percent lighter than aluminum and as strong as any heavier typical Magnesium alloy laptop materials resulting in unsurpassed quality engineering. The HZ750 also has a direct bonded touchscreen that uses a film instead of cover glass.
While the LaVie exceptional ultra-portable experience ranks light in weight, it comes in heavy in terms of performance, starting with a brilliant 13.3-in optional WQHD touch screen for vivid, lifelike images. It has a powerful up to 5th Generation Intel® Core i7™ processor (on the HZ750) that’s great for running multiple programs and applications simultaneously, Microsoft Windows 8.1 Update for maximum productivity and fast and responsive 128 GB SSD storage. The LaVie Ultraportables are a valuable daily mobile companion, excelling in both work and play."

    Hey thanks,
The thing is... I did add both.
Ah, but I think what you're saying is,(example) just add one A-L, live with that for a week or so till I hit the song, then split that etc, till I find the song. HOWEVER the thing is, that will take AGES.
This is so strange that there's no fix or program that can detect a corrupt song.
But thank you for telling me the correct term and also for pointing out that the song can live on my iphone, but it only breaks it upon being played... that would make sense, as it breaks again after being fine for a week or so.
    You have any further advice?
