Is the ze5400 series in the same family as the ze4900.?

I have a ze4900us that the power jack is loose and won't charge or run the system. Have repaired once already.
I have a chance to buy a ze5400 cheap and running and wondered if I can just swap out my HDD, Ram, and wireless card?
Can anyone please help!

Hello @garyslt2,
I have read your post on how you are looking to see if you can swap parts from two different notebooks in the "ze" series, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
Both of these notebooks are part of the same series, but are not part of the same family. According to the Maintenance and Service Guide for the ze4900 (on page 79), and the ze5400 (on page 27), the part numbers for the components you are looking for are completely different. If you are still looking for a notebook to replace like-parts with the one you currently have, you can do so with the following models:
HP Pavilion ze4900 Notebook PC
HP Compaq nx9040 Notebook PC
HP Compaq nx9030 Notebook PC
HP Compaq nx9020 Notebook PC
Compaq Presario 2200 Notebook PC
I hope this helps!

Your question is almost too much a personal one, begging the question "do we (husband and wife) feel comfy sharing one account on the Mac"   maybe thats why nobody answered you.
It doesnt complicate anything, but it adds steps for switching accounts on the Mac/ purchases etc. of course
since your question is mostly personal, ..I wont answer THAT part of it, but creating a new account is easy.....messing with switching back and forth is also a personal preference 'issue' as well.   I prefer to keep things simple, but...........you and yours,  I dont know.......

  • Can I move my old iPhone 4 to another account in the same family plan

I currently have an iPhone 4 and a 3GS on the same family plan.  I would like to upgrade to the 4s (with a new 2-yr contract) and replace my old 3GS with my old 4 (without re-upping for 2 more years for the privilege of swapping old phones).  Is this possible?

    Yes.
Stop by an ATT corporate store to request a new micro-SIM card for the iPhone 4 where the iPhone 4 can also be activated with the line/number that is currently using the 3GS. The 3GS will be deactivated automatically at that time.

  • What are the recommended settings for multiple iPhones and iPads in the same family?  I don't want my family members contacts in mine...or them receiving texts that are intended just for me.  Help!

I don't want my wife's or children's contact information in my contacts during syncing...or them receiving texts that are intended or me.  Can someone please tell me how they handle multiple family members settings in regard to emails, iCloud, and iTunes?  Does each phone have a separate computer login, iTunes account or iCloud accounts?  Help!

Yes, set them up with their own Apple IDs:
    http://appleid.apple.com
An Apple ID may have been entered in the following places:
    Settings > iCloud > Account
    Settings > Messages > Send & Receive
    Settings > FaceTime
Settings > iTunes & App Stores

  • TS4020 So, Apple devices are personal and not really meant to be used by multiple persons (even from the same family)?

Does each person in a family necessarily need to own a personal device? Shareable devices like television or radio have been useful and have helped family or friendly bonding. Of course, it may be difficult to make a device such as a mobile phone a shareable device, but wouldn't it be helpful for all device owners to have the freedom to share their devices (with their family members or partners, for example)?

  • Bought Lion through App Store.  It is my understanding that Lion can be loaded on all machines owned by the same family.  But, I cannot find the download when I go into the app store in my "purchased" file.  Don't want to buy it again if not needed.

Upgraded to Lion via the App store download.  After reading many posts, it seems that I can load Lion on my other imacs.  However, when I sign into the store and check my downloads, Lion is not there.  Don't want to purchase more software If I don't have to.  Any Suggestions?

On your other Macs, Open ->App Store and Sign in with the same Apple ID and you should be able to d/l from the Purchases Tab

  • Sharing contacts using AirDrop, both users are members of the same Family Sharing group.

I'm asking this question for a friend of mine. He contacted me to help troubleshoot a problem where he was trying to share a contact with his wife using AirDrop. They both have new iPhone 5Ss running iOS 8.1. He can send a contact to his wife's iPhone but she can't send to him. While troubleshooting we noticed we could change the behavoir by changing the settings of who was a Parent/GardIan and who was an Adult in Family Sharing. For example we could change the behaviour so that she could share a contact with him but he could not share with her. We were never able to get it to work where they could share with each other both ways. It was one way only.
Anyone else who is part of a Family Sharing group having trouble using AirDrop to share between iPhones, particularly contacts?

    Hi,
The way to do this would be to first have a Lookup on the dimension based on the properties you want. You can then use this retrieved value in the REC statement.
This is an example for it:
    *DIM CATEGORY=CATEGORY
    *DIM TIME=TIME
    *LOOKUP RATE
    *DIM ENTITY2="DEFAULT"
    *DIM RATE=ACCOUNT.RATETYPE
    *DIM SOURCECURR:INPUTCURRENCY=ENTITY.CURR
    *DIM DESTCURR1: INPUTCURRENCY="USD"
    *DIM DESTCURR2: INPUTCURRENCY="EURO"
    *ENDLOOKUP
    *WHEN ACCOUNT.RATETYPE
    *IS "AVG","END"
    *REC(FACTOR=LOOKUP(DESTCURR1)/LOOKUP(SOURCECURR),CURRENCY=u201DUSDu201D)
    *ENDWHEN
    *COMMIT
    Hope this helps.

  • Can't text between 2 iphones in the same family

My son has the new iphone 4s and i have the iphone 4.  When he texts me, it says the text is from my phone number, not his.  I have his number stored in contacts.  It seems that his phone thinks it's mine.  We can call each other but the texting is messed up.  We are both on ios5.

Please see this thread. It deals with exactly the same problem.

Thank you for reaching out to us, labrylao4. Regarding the issues with messaging, is this affecting only SMS, iMessages, or both? When you or her try to send each other messages, do you receive any error messages while it is sending? If it is for iMessages, have you tried to send while connected to WiFi?

  • Can I transfer AppleCare from one number to another number within same family?

I have 5 phones under me.
I purchased the Iphone 5 under my number with the AppleCare. Unfortunately a few months later I wanted another phone. I switched the Iphone 5's phone number to another family member.
Did I lose the AppleCare at that point?
Now this family member with the Iphone 5 wants another phone, and we want to give the Iphone 5 to another family member.
Question: Is there a possibility I still have the AppleCare (I did not call Apple at the time)  and can cancel the AppleCare and get it prorated since I made one transfer which the Terms state one can do? Like most people, I didn't read the Terms. =(
or...did I lose the AppleCare once I transferred the number? I did inquire at the time, and the phone company stated I could do it...so I did...
Thanks for any advice. Just seeing if I can salvage the cost I put into AppleCare into this one phone that never left the original address...just the phone number was switched.

The AppleCare stays with the hardware, not the phone number.

  • HT4946 how to back up 2 iPhone different number same family plan

hey my roommates and her daughter have 2 iphone under the same plan with ATT  with 2 differents number  they want to back up their phone on my laptop is macbook pro 10.9.1
theirs adress book got all mess up they need to divide them  so they ask me how to do it and can they do that  with each each person having their own account and password
    i need some help please

You can backup more than one device on the same computer. iTunes will be able to tell the difference between the devices, but you need to watch the settings in iTunes to ensure that automatic sync is not turned on, an that all you do is backup or you could mess up more than just their contacts if you are syncing to the same computer.

  • OK to use 10.5 installations on different Model Identifiers in same family?

    Hi All,
Can I install 10.5 on a G5 (ie, Model Identifier PowerMac11,2), but then remove the hard drive and use it without issues in a different G5, (ie, Model Identifier PowerMac7,3)?
We've made an image using a G5 PowerMac11,2 and used this image to restore onto other PowerMac11,2's without issues. But will this same image work OK on other PowerMac G5's, or do we have to create a new, separate image for each Model Identifier so all drivers, kernel extensions, etc work properly?
Thanks for any insight you might have.

Hiya, and sorry to jump in there.
Whilst - purely technically speaking - there should be no reason that Leopard should cause issues on older Macs such as G5's. Maybe, I was unlucky, but I, like a fair few others did in fact have quite a few issues:
    http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/apple-desktops/119875-g5-dual-2ghz-having-probl ems-leopard.html (Rosetta??)

    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1917122&tstart=15
Now, I am all in favour of moving on from older to newer technologies, but I (personally) think, that the processor in older Macs, whilst diligently performing well until Tiger, may find it hard to cope with Leopard, the stepping stone to Snow Leopard http://www.apple.com/macosx/snowleopard/
Apart from that, you cannot run Boot Camp (I think, photobooth and some other apps are also affected) on an older "Power PC" processor architecture. You'd need virtual PC for that.

Welcome to the world of digital media. Your can't really transfer it. I don't know what the rules are about transferring to your spouse but I do know that in some cases when you die, your heirs cannot inherit your digital media. This is why there is still an advantage to buying the CD since the usage rights belong to whomever holds the physical media.
A possible workaround is to burn the songs to a music CD with yout account (tracks only without song titles) and then having your wife upload it as a regular music CD onto her account. It's been a while since i've done this so I'm not sure if it would work now.
Please note that I'm not advocating copyright and/or TOS violations. I'm only suggesting ways to copy music for your own personal use which has traditonally been permitted. I only did this because I wanted to convert iTunes songs to mp3 files so I could burn them onto a data CD for use in my car. It would make sense that since married couples are a joint entity, this would be personal use.
Also, I'm not a lawyer so don't take this as legal advice.

  • Family share works on one phone but not the other

My husband and I used to share an Apple ID so we could get contacts and calendars on each others devices.  Photo library/sharing, calendar among other iCloud and Family Share opportunities to keep things separate yet some together seemed more practical.  We have two children coming to the age where we will be getting them phones, but now I question which is the best way to set this up.  His phone kept the original Apple ID and I created one for my phone.  My phone works wonderful with family share in regards to Find My Phone and calendar and sharing to his phone.  However his phone seems to have combined his ID with mine so when I change the family share photo of him, it changes my photo to the same one as his.  He can not see me on Find My Phone, but the calendar he can see just fine that I create on my phone and share.  He can share his location with me via txt msg, but I can not share mine with him. My iPhone 5 and iPad 3 seem to be connected ok with the exception of photo library not shared across the two and the ability to answer a call through the iPad.
Any ideas about what I am missing?

I Have similar concerns: my wife and me with ios7 shared an Apple ID in order to manage an unique contact list. Also we shared with our son the same Apple ID to access the iTunes store. But all of us used our own Apple ID to configure mail, calendars, FaceTime, iMessage and Friends App. Now, after updating to iOS 8 seems that the family option could be very useful to make order in our devices: everyone could configure its own device with its own Apple id. But it seems that it is not possible to share the contact list between different apple IDs among the same family. In the other hand, the application Friends now is associated to the icloud id, so if we decided to continue sharing the same ID, becomes impossible for my wife and me to know the location of each other Using the Friends App.
So, it could be very useful if Apple decided to let the possibility to share the contact list among users of the same family.
IS there another way to bypass our problem?
