"Is their a way to stream live internet radio on the ipod touch?"

I use This one, but it's limited to Clear-Channel stations.
As deggie said, there are a lot of them now.

  • Does internet come on the ipod touch?

Going to buy the new ipod touch for a birthday present. Is internet already on it?

The iPod comes with the Safari internet browser.  It connects to the internet by wifi such as most personnel routers as well as wifi spots like Starbucks.  It is not like a phone. Phones comes with 3G cellular service for which you pay a monthly fee.

  • Are there Internet radio apps for iPod Touch 1st gen iOS 3?

Would love to make use of this 1st gen iPod Touch by accessing both commercial and Internet-based radio stations (like TuneIn Radio). But most require >=iOS 4
I've spent a LOT of time searching but it's a one-at-a-time process. Can anyone help?
Cheers and TIA for any advice.

I am not aware of any such apps.

  • Asking again:  how to get live internet radio on the mac actually be live??

The software on my mac seems to treat certain audio broadcasts as podcasts rather than live broadcasts so that when it finishes a clip, it restarts it and plays it again. Is there a way to actually get the mac to play broadcasts as live and not keep recycling a broadcast as a clip?

    Where are you playing from?
    iTunes Radio? or a website?
From websites. The problem doesn't seem to happen when I use iTunes but it doesn't seem that every station's internet can be opened through iTunes. Or is there a way in fact to do that?

  • Is the iPhone's internet exactly like the ipod Touch's...???

.....does the internet capabilities (and everything else associated with getting online) of the iPhone pretty much the same as the Touch?....

Yes, except that the touch is WiFi only, while the iPhone can use Edge (or similar cellular data technologies) to access Web and Email when there is no WiFi hotspot available.

  • Smart Playlists aren't sorted the way I want them to be on the iPod touch.

    Hello,
I have two Smart Playlists that automatically adds any songs that have four/five stars. In iTunes, it's sorted alphabetically (ascending) but when I check on my iPod, it seems to be random. It wasn't like that a month ago.
Anyone know what is going on with my iPod?
Thanks if you're able to help me out.

  • Can you purchase Internet access for newest iPod Touch?

I bought a touch for a friend for Christmas - he does not have tv/internet/telephone service - he gets internet on his Toshiba laptop through a Verizon aircard thing he plugs into a USB port. I could not figure out a way to get wifi to work on the Touch, or to even get the Bluetooth working so he can have wifi while near the laptop. Is there a way to just purchase internet access to the ipod so he can have access anywhere he goes? Or does anyone know a way to get the bluetooth to work from the Toshiba laptop to the iPod Touch?
    Thank you!

The iPod will not tether via bluetooth to a computer for internet access. You should be able to turn the laptop w/aircard into a wireless access point (like a router) so the the iPod can connect via wifi to the internet. Just Google "laptop as a wifi hotspot" and you will get many hits.

    Hi,
The iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS support Internet tethering over a USB cable, as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3574.
The iPod touch can connect over a Wi-Fi network, as mentioned here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2031.
If your PC has a wireless card, you may be able to create an Ad-Hoc Wi-Fi network that can share the Internet access to the iPod touch.
You can also get a wireless router, like an Airport base station http://www.apple.com/wifi/.

  • How can I get internet connectivity with my iPod Touch cabled to my PC?

Most devices "tether" to a computer (PC or iMac) for internet connection. I cannot find any reference in the user manual on getting internet access from the connected PC to the "tethered" ipod touch. How can I accomplish this?

  • Internet Sharing With an iPod Touch??

I've done a search and couldn't find anything. This might be better suited in a different forum but I'll try it here.
I've got two laptops. The first is a MacBook (Intel) and the other is a PowerBook (PPC).
I've been using the MacBook for all my work with my Touch. I do not have wireless at work so I use my MacBook and just share my internet via airport to get my Touch online. It's been working without any problems. For some reason my MacBook crashed earlier today (screen froze except with a message box that said I need to restart my Mac). No problem I shut it down and did some BS for work. I got back on it today and haven't had any problems but now my Touch will not get online via the MacBook. It sees and connects to the MacBook wireless but it doesn't have any connectivity. It gets an IP address assigned, but I can't get anything on it.
Thinking it was my computer I tried my PowerBook and was able to get online with the PowerBook via the shared wireless network on the Macbook. Also, I can plug the LAN cable into the PowerBook and the Touch will connect through it using the internet sharing.
I was thinking that it was a difference between the PPC and the Intel chips but the Touch was working on the MacBook a few hours earlier. I am running the same basic system on both computers and for the most part they are running the same stuff.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

After a long time i think someone has found a way to get internet sharing working with the ipod touch.
found this post by "coolisstillgood" in macforums and it worked perfectly for me.
+"I've seen a lot of posts and notes about this topic over the internet and non of them could solved my problem completely, they were partially helpful but not entirely helpful. there were tons of complains about this matter and a lot of users seemed unhappy because simply they couldn't share their Internet Connection over airport or wifi with their iPod Touch. After a long and tiring night I finally figured out how to get it right and I decided to share this experience with all the Mac users gladly.+
+Ok, what I have is a MacBook with OS 10.5.2 installed and my Internet connection is through cable modem and it's a Ethernet Connection and I shared my Internet through Airport with my iPod Touch.+
+I assumed your Internet Connection is fully established and you can surf the web with your MacBook.+
+you go to System Preferences and under the Internet & Network, you go to Sharing,Turn On Web Sharing and Internet Sharing,in the Internet Sharing you have to choose to Share your Connection From Ethernet(in case you get your Internet Connection from Ethernet of course) To computer using Airport .+
+And then on your iPod touch you go to Setting and the Wi-Fi,you should see your computer name there, choose the network and then press the ">" sign in the blue circle, you should see your IP Address which probably is 10.0.2.2 . What is important here is your DNS which probably should be something like this format 10.0.2.1+
+you go back to your Mac and System Preferences>Network>Airport you should see your Computer's Name in the Network Name field, you go to Advanced>TCP/IP and write down your IPv4 Address, go one step back which is System Preferences>Network and this time you go to Ethernet>Advanced>DNS on the right side, there is the list of your DNS Servers, you add your DNS number form your iPod Touch and your IPv4 from your Airport configuration and that's it.+
+you should be able to browse internet from your iTouch by now.+
+And for all the IP stuff, you let DHCP handle it Automatically. I did it and it works fine for me and the speed is pretty good too and there is no need for a wireless router. You can share your Ethernet Internet Connection Easily from Airport to your iTouch.+
+I hope this post will be useful for ones struggling with this problem.+
    +keep it cool"+
follow the instructions exactly and good luck!

  • Does the iPod touch only use wi-fi or if it's plugged in to a PC can it use the internet?

Does the iPod touch only use wi-fi or if it's plugged in to a PC can it use the internet?

I have never done this myself,  however I know you can use some computer as the WiFi hotspots.  Macs do, and some PCs do.
There is not a way to physically connect the iPod to use the computers Internet connection.
If you use Windows - look here for help and instructions.

  • Our Ipad and one Iphone won't stay connected to internet radio while the third Iphone does. They are all IOS 5 ?

We have two Iphones and one Ipad. They are all IOS 5. We like internet radio. The Ipad and one of our phones disconnect from the radio program while the third works just fine. Does anyone have any thoughts? Could this be a setting somewhere we missesd?  The one phone that works is connected to a different computer for sync and Itunes.

    Kenneth-
One other thing you can try, is to reset (reboot) the problem iPad.  Hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow.  The iPad will restart after a couple of minutes.  Resetting this way will not hurt anything, and sometimes clears up mysterious problems.
I'm not familiar with iPhones, but it may be possible to reset them the same way.

  • Is there a way to add a static route in an Ipod touch ?

I am trying to get the ipod touch to configure correctly for our wireless network.
The wireless side does not provide DNS or DHCP directly . Rather this is done from a different
subnet . This assists to a small extent with our wirless security in that the attacker must also know
routing address and DNS and DHCP addresses to steal web access. In windows or Linux this can be done
by route add (DHCP IP Address) netmask 255.255.255.255  (gateway IP address)
and route add (DNS IP Address) netmask 255.255.255.255 (gateway IP address)
and manually specifying the DNS and DHCP addresses. Even if i manually enter the
the IP address without a simple static route I will not get DNS services across the gateway.
I am no apple expert but route add has been in use since the internet was still on 2 wheels
surely this can still be done ?
    Thanks in advance
