Is there a benefit to having both verizon wireless service and residential?

Some companies allow you to watch cable through your devices other than tv if you subscribe to multiple services. I have done a little bit of research but had not found anything on the topic about Verizon yet. Any help would be appreciated, don't be shy to include lots of information as long as it is readable.

No.
Connecting the Ethernet will disable the wireless by design.
Each of these connection methods look like two different devices to the network (with different MAC addresses and potentially different IP addresses).  Since there is just one printer, having what looks like two different devices on the network at once would lead to mass confusion for devices trying to access the printer.

For example so that I can just press shift or another key to get the German character.

Some may already exist, but you will have to learn them.  On my old system these can be found through keyviewer.app  For example, if I press option+s I get ß   Umlaut is a bit cumbersome as option+u then the actual letter.  It may be possible to bind a key to do this function, possibly through System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts
I have old, old references for utilities that let you rebind keys to other functions, and you would have to see if they have modern equivalents.

We have had Verizon Wireless service since 2007. We have 6 lines on our account. Unfortunately in 2012 when I (903.647.0073) upgraded from the iPhone4s to the iPhone 5 I started having reception problems. I started having dropped calls in my home. I had to go outside to get reception without dropped calls. I was told that because of metal in my home I would have to purchase a Network Extender for $250. And we HAVE not metal in our home. AND our other lines all work fine. I felt this was ridiculous. We already pay $350+/month for service and I should NOT have to purchase additional equipment for a service that I already pay for. The manager of our local store at the time gave us at no cost a Samsung Network Extender. It worked beautifully until about a month ago. I went to our local Verizon store and was told that I would have to purchase an extender. THIS is RIDICULOUS. We have been loyal customers for over 7 years and have been very satisfied with our service. Unless this issue can be resolved without purchasing an extender we will be switching our service as our lines come up for renewal. I regret this as we have been very happy with our service. But we should NOT have to purchase anything extra for one line that will not get good reception. Again, we pay $350+/ month for a service that does not work properly, simply RIDICULOUS! Currently the "sys" light flashes red (slow) and the GPS light remains red. Please help this very frustrated customer.

Regardless with what carrier your with you might have the same issue, My recommendation would be to get a router that will help you with viewing live traffic and keep a tally of your usage and any device connected to your internet connection.  You can go with the peplink balance 20 and be able to look at your traffic by the hour, daily, weekly, monthly or yearly.  Look for trends, see what computers or devices are doing what I attached a screen shot so you can see an example of mine.  You can purchase the router at 3gstore

  • Verizon Customer Service and Samsung Galaxy S III

A little over 3 weeks ago I purchased a Samsung Galaxy III phone from Verizon.
    The exact store is:
    224 North Weber Road,
    Bolingbrook, IL 60440
    (630) 226-4660
When I purchased the phone the person who sold me the phone told me that I had 30 days, If I was not completely satisfied with the phone I could return it and get my money back.  However, he assured me that I would LOVE my new phone.
I had just come off using a Blackberry for 4 years with no problems AT ALL!  I loved that phone, but I thought it would be nice to get up to the 21st century phone standards and get a touch screen phone.  Well, I went for the best…… or so I thought.
As soon as I got my new phone in the car, I started using the speaker phone hands free.  The speakerphone began to cut in and out and the person, my husband whom I most speak with could not understand what I was saying.  I used the speakerphone on my Blackberry without issue.  I did not think much of it because I was so happy to have my new phone.  I thought maybe I was just in a bad area etc… Well the issue persisted also when I called my bank, my husband’s mother, my mother and it did not matter where I was the speaker phone did not work properly.  Then my phone started to drop calls.  Again, I thought it may have been the area, but it started happening a lot.  So now I was really beginning to wonder.  Having though I was still under the 30 DAY warranty, I gave it a few more days.  I began having to take out the battery to reset the unit because apps where disappearing and when I went to re-install them the unit indicated that app was already on my phone and wanted to know if I would like to uninstall the app.  I had to once again take out the battery and have the unit restart.  Well, I could not take it anymore.  With all of the things going wrong only a couple of weeks after purchase, I had to go into the store and see what they could do for me.  I went in and explained my situation to the manger who was greeting people at the door, I think her name was Katie or something like that.  She put me in line on her IPad just like everyone else for someone to assist me.  I was assigned to a very pleasant associate who took the battery out of my phone and said try this to see if this works for you.  I, not knowing very much about the technology said ok and walked out of the store.  Well it kept on getting worse.  I went back to the store on Sunday, September 30th 2012 asking for my money back or a new replacement for the phone.   They would not assist me. I started with a regular associate and went up the chain finally getting Katie (the store manager) who repeated everything that everyone else said.  So, obviously, she has no managerial skills at all.   She stated that they would have to totally reset my phone to see if some apps where conflicting etc.  Isn’t that what you purchase a Smartphone for??? To put apps on it and calendars etc.  I just downloaded a calendar and Xfinity because that is what I have my e-mail on.  I don’t’ think that was the issue, but you could not tell Katie anything.
I wanted a new phone replacement or money back as I spent $300.00 dollars on this phone.  She would not have it.  She said we have to go through the proper trouble shooting because I was out of the 14 day return policy!!!!.   OMGsh 14 days????  I was told 30!  Had I known this, I would have gotten my money back the first time I took the phone in for the issues I was having.  At that time, I was still under the 14 day policy!  I proceeded to express my opinion to everyone in the store stating “Don’t buy a Samsung Galaxy III” They are pieces of **bleep**. Well, needless to say Katie did not like that and she set my phone down in front of me and said, if I am going to swear, she is not going to help me.  Ok, then I re-worded my statement to tell everyone in the store “Don’t buy a Samsung Galaxy III they are pieces of garbage”  I cleaned it up a little, but still got my point across.  I also told her that I would blog about it and send a letter to the corporate office of both Samsung and Verizon.  I don’t think that she believed me, but here I am taking my time for this stuff.  Time I don’t have much of, but I feel very strongly about this situation.  I was lied to and Katie had the nerve to tell me that if I get a replacement phone from them, it would be a refurbished unit even though I just purchased the unit 3 weeks earlier.  THAT is unacceptable by any standards!!!
Needless to say I left the store totally dissatisfied with Verizon’s customer service and the Samsung Galaxy III phone.  I have not put any unusual apps on my phone nor have I downloaded a new calendar to my phone and I am still having the same issues with dropped calls and bad speaker phone.  I will not put any time into this phone for them to tell me they need to reset the whole darn thing again!  I am not going to bother going back to that Verizon store, because I know that they will not lift a finger to do anything about it.
My husband wants an IPhone 5.  We will not be purchasing this from Verizon and I will probably eat the cancellation fee and go through AT&T so that my husband can get his IPhone.  I will never purchase another thing from Verizon, this is not the first time that that they have let me down.
I hope that this letter, blog, facebook, YouTube note will open some eyes with regard to Verizon customer service and the Samsung Galaxy III phone.  I don’t know if it will, but with social media as it is, I hope it DOES!
    Thanks for nothing Verizon!!!
    Sincerely
    Donna {edited for privacy}

why is it ok for a verizon wireless service representative to lie to a customer? I went over my monthly data and i called to ask for some help with the overage because i was barely over. They told me they would take care of it and sold me on a shared data plan that would result in 2gb less data but told me i would save 20$ a month. I agreed and recieved my next statement and to my suprise my bill actually went up 15$ a month and i talked to several people and they all told me there is nothing that can be done to get back on the plan i was on and they can not even give me a discount to get me back to what i was paying. They can only offer me a convenience credit. I will be cancelling service.

    ajwest101,
We do not want to see you go. I truly apologize for any misinformation regarding your plan. Let's investigate into this a little further. What plan were you on? What plan were you switched to? If you look at the detailed billing online of your previous bill do you see any additional charges other then the plan?

My early 2009 Mac Pro does not connect via bluetooth to my sound bar or bluetooth mini speakers. Both my wireless keyboard and mouse have no problems connecting. What do I need to do to connect to external bluetooth devices?

I would always have a wired keyboard and mouse on hand (need not be expensive ... any cheap wired devices will work).  "Emergency recovery" procedures can activate features in random order, so the opportunity to select a recovery partition may pass before the wireless devices are recognized.
That will let you select the "turn on Bluetooth" icon.

My Verizon wireless service at my house has begun to degrade over the last 6 Month.  It has begun to be very frustrating seeing how we switched over from Satellite to Verizon 4GLTE wireless device.  How do I contact someone to see what the issue may be. Zip Code 22580.

Out of curiosity how much data per month are you using?  Another factor could be if neighbors have all done the same thing as you and the node is being overloaded on home internet use.

It shows up as 4GLTE and i can still connect to my data & go on the internet but I cannot make any calls. Ocassionally it will connect to "Verizon" and I can recieve SMS (Text Messages)but still no calls.

        Titah420,
We definitely want you to have access to all your services. What happens when you try to make a call? Are you able to receive calls? Are text messages an issue?

I think your problem is the fact that your friend is not registered through iMessage, just text messages. I would look around and check out how to set up iMessage on iPhones.

  • Verizon cuts service and cant figure out how to turn it back on

On Wednesday, my Internet service wasn't working. After 3 hours of phone calls and chats, it was determined I had
an alleged copyright violation and your company wanted me to watch a video that was made impossible to get to, as
your company automatically tampered with my internet service, not allowing me to do anything on the Internet until
an associate gave me a 10th link to try. To top it off, your company couldn't even get me to the link to show me
    my alleged issue.
I decided I wanted to cancel my account due to your company deciding when I could have Internet and for being
incompetent with customer service. That was only the beginning of my frustration.
I received a retention email that of course didn't work by clicking through like it was supposed to. The email was
to save 25$ off of my bill. After spending an hour with retention, I decided to stay. The rep assured me my
account would not be disconnected and the savings would reflect on my next billing cycle.
At 4 am Saturday morning my internet was shut off while I was doing an assignment for my Bachelor's degree. After 4
hours of Internet chats and phone calls, it was determined that the cancellation had gone through anyways. A
customer service rep put in another order for me to have my service turned back on, and I was assured that it
would be on by 5pm, midnight at the latest.
The following day the service was still not on. I spent another three hours on the phone before it was determined
that i could not sign the terms and service, because my internet was disconnected. I was directed towards a
manager, who told me they would need to put in an order yet again. He also told me he would not  honor the
retention email I had been sent to save the 25$. After two days of no services and 10 hours of phone calls and chats,
Verizon wasn't going to honor their word.
I yanked all of my equipment out of my house and returned it to a Verizon store, where I spent another two hours
on the phone with customer service because my account was still not showing disconnected even though my services
were no longer working, and the employees at the store have no control over customer service issues.I was finally
able to return my equipment and was told a manager would contact me the next day about my issues.
Next day no contact. I call the direct retention line given to me at the store and spend another hour and a half
on the phone with a rep. She doesn't understand why I am having such problems. She opens a new account for me,
hoping to fix my issues, setting up a tech appointment for Wednesday between 8am and 4pm. She informs me I will
now need to pay a rental fee for my router which I never had to pay before. To keep me as a customer she tells me
all of my prior credits will be added to my bill, plus 10$ for the router fee.
So here I think I am in the clear finally, but I realize the router I am renting for 8$ is only 2$ off a month
from the quantum router with 5ghz band. So I check my email for the confirmation code I received for new services.
It doesn't match the code given to me from the rep. I click through it and it tries to make me schedule an
appointment for a tech to come out to install service. I already did that with the retention agent. I don't follow
through with the email because the information looks wrong. I try to call the retention line back (only two hours
later) only to receive the message that the number is a non-working Verizon number. Weird, only two hours ago I
was on it for over an hour with no problem. Sure seems to me I am blocked from the number, and I will try tomorrow
from a different phone number to verify this.
I call up customer service which results in my 12th phone call to your company in a matter of 4 days and spend
another three hours on the phone trying to figure out why Verizon has no records of EITHER confirmation number I
received just 2 hours prior. I am hung up on 3 times, including by a manager who transferred me to their Air team
(what the hell is that?) because he couldn't even figure out for me if I had a tech coming out to me on Wednesday
morning. As of right now, I have no idea if I will be set up for service on Wednesday, and apparently neither does
    Verizon.
I already paid for this month in advance, and have no faith in receiving a timely refund, therefore I have
disputed my credit card payment. The last resolution I was given was to put in yet ANOTHER order and see how that
one goes. I have no more time to receive the most horrible customer service I have EVER received. Tomorrow I will
be emailing this post to every corporate email address I can find for Verizon via the Internet and I will be
calling every corporate phone number I can find as well. No customer deserves this kind of treatment, especially a
customer who paid on time every day for the two years while the bill was in his name, and has used the service in
the DC area for over 5 years.
    Call times:
    March 17th
    6:52 pm - 22 minutes
    March 18th
    12:38 am - 43 minutes
    2:21 am - 20 minutes
    3:54 pm - 75 minutes
    March 21st
    5:00 am - 20 minutes
    11:21 am - 55 minutes
    March 22nd
    2:21 am 5 minutes
    2:26 pm - 46 minutes
    3:56 pm - 41 minutes
    March 23rd
    1:57 pm - 52 minutes
    5:03 pm - 43 minutes
    5:47 pm - 25 minutes
Over 7 hours total, not including logged internet chats, still no resolution. I still don't even know if I have an appointment for a tech visit on Wednesday between 8 am and 12 pm anymore.
    Latest confirmation numbers:
VA11158758805 - at last check still pending to disconnect service even though equipment was returned on the 22nd
VA11158936948 - the number that was supposed to be used for my new account which no longer exists
VA11158947314 - the latest number I received in my email which wanted me to sign a 2 year agreement and set up a new, later tech date. My tech date is this wednesday 8/25/15 between 8 am and 4 pm, and I refuse to sign a two year agreement after all this.

  • Open letter to Verizon Wireless Management and Customer No-Services

After more than 10 years as a customer of Verizon Wireless, I have recently encountered several situations that have caused me to begin the process of changing my service provider to another company. Verizon has "zero" loyalty or appreciation of its existing customers; they have poor, and in one particular case, rude customer no-service representatives and policies.
I purchased a new smart phone for my college daughter. Of course, activation of this new phone required the purchase of a data plan, even though she doesn't need or intend to use data services. (That's fine; I was aware of  this cost even though I believe it to be over-priced). In addition, they also required a $30 fee for signing a new contract. Seriously? Are you kidding me? A fee for the "privilege" of signing a contract with the big, powerful, arrogant Verizon? I don't want a contract in the first place; it is Verizon that wants the contract. They should pay me for signing a contract. I could understand a fee for a new account setup (not really, but it makes a little sense) but a fee for an existing multi-line, long-time customer where the paperwork is nothing more than a mere mouse click of  the "I Agree" button?
So, the daughter gets her new phone with 24 months of data (for the low, low price of 25 months.... yea right). We take her old phone, which she has had for several years, and decide to use it on another of the lines in our family plan because it has a qwerty keyboard. Now, I learn that I have to sign up for a data plan to use this old phone on a different line. This phone has been in service for several years with no data plan but now I have to have a data plan to use it?  What the **** ??? I only wanted to use the phone for voice calls and a few texts. I have no need for data. This phone, an ENV3, is not well suited for data services anyway. (No, I won't be using this old phone after all.)
Companies such as yours dream up  junk fees; this one amounts to $1.25 per month additional revenue. They do this as a way of increasing revenue while advertising a lower price, ie advertise $30.00 per month but actually charge $31.25. I suppose they all pat themselves on the back and start counting all the new-found money. The management is so stupid and arrogant that they do not realize what the long-term impact could be. In this particular case, the end result shall be the net loss of $250.00 per month in revenue. I know that you don't care; that is painfully obvious and clear.
Well Mr. Verizon, you may consider this to be my official letter of resignation. Consider me gone, done, history. I don't need you, your arrogance, or your over-priced services. I currently pay nearly $250/mo to your company for six phone lines, four of which are "very lightly" used for calls and and a few text only. Personally, on my line,  I do nothing but make and/or receive an average of  two  3-minute calls per week. I put up with a lot of crap making my money; I do not have to tolerate any when spending it. I WILL be taking ALL my business elsewhere. Four of my lines are currently month-to-month with no contract. I will be moving these to another provider in the coming week. The remaining ones will be moved upon expiration of their respective contracts.
    Cheers

Verizon has no obligation to respect your "loyalty." They do, however, have an obligatory fiduciary duty to their investors, hence the "upgrade" fees, "line access" fees, "regulatory recovery" fees, data plan "repuirements", and data caps, none of which are intended to buy YOU anything. They are assessed primarily to provide profits to them and dividends to their investors, along with a source of capital expenditure for their network expansion whose sole purpose is to attract more customers to provide more revenue streams to meet their aforementioned fiduciary duty to serve their executives and investors ever greater profits and dividends. And in this country, that is ALL this wireless game is about. EVERYTHING else, be it customer service, value of service, loyalty or anything else, is secondary.
And you think other carriers are any different? Nope. They all are in this for the exact same game, however they choose to play it, plan for plan, fee for fee. Sure, details differ, some plans might look more appealing and for some, prudent shopping around might even net some nominal cost savings, but all in all, they pretty much charge the same fees and require the same data plans, because that's where the big bucks are, and one way or another you will pay them or you will do without (which might be a blessing in disguise).
I personally don't like this any more than you do, and I would favor strong federal regulatory oversight much as they have in Europe Latin America and Asia, along with homogenized network infrastructure which stimulates competition by allowing easy interoperability of phones and devices irrespective of carrier, but I fear it will be a cold day in hell before we ever see the likes of that here. According Republican thinking, that's just not the "American Way."

Connect your new phone to your computer using the USB cable and it should appear in iTunes. If it doesn't you will need to troubleshoot. Then see: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2109
