Is there a browser for windows ME?

I want to update my browser on my holiday machine, running ME. I wondered if there was an older Mozilla product, possibly not Firefox?

The old Firefox 3.0 required Windows 2000 at minimum then. Firefox 13.0 to current has required WinXP with SP2 at minimum.

The ancient Firefox 2.0 ([http://website-archive.mozilla.org/www.mozilla.org/firefox_releasenotes/en-US/firefox/2.0.0.20/releasenotes/ 2.0.0.20] was the last security update December 18, 2008) did work on Win98 and newer back then.

However you are probably better off trying a current light Linux distro with a light window manager like say iceWM (looks like Win9x) or Xfce at most as Gnome 3 and KDE would likely be far too demanding on system.

There is no Windows Media player plugin for any browser on Android. If you are lucky download the file and see if any of media players on the system can play the file.

  • Is there a driver for Windows 8.1 that works with HP Scanjet 5500c

Is there a driver for Windows 8.1 that works with HP Scanjet 5500c
    Thank you.

    Hi,
I afraid you will not be able to use the scanner with Windows 8.1, it is not compatible with the OS.
Regarding VueScan, I afraid it would not be an option as well, the application only support your scanners if there are drivers for the OS:
If there isn't an HP scanner driver at www.hp.com for your operating system, then unfortunately VueScan won't work with this scanner.
You may try using the Vista drivers by running the drivers using the Program Compatibility Troubleshooter as listed below.. select Not Listed from the programs list and browse to the installation file for Vista:

  • Safari 4 browser for Windows F11?

Is there an option to duplicate F11 windows function in Safari 4 browser for Windows? I want ALL the tool bars to hide.

you can go to the view menu and turn everything off. If you want the tool bar (with back & forward buttons, address bar & google bar), hit Ctrl + L. If you want the menu bar (file, edit, etc.), hit the "alt" button. That should give you the full screen solution while still having access to those navigation elements.

  • Is there a forum for windows.

I hope this is the right place to post this topic. I find the Apple discussion forum really useful, and wanted to know if there is anything similar for Windows users.
I had a look on google but found nothing as easy to use as the Apple one, has anyone got any suggestions. I need it mainly for Windows XP SP2 and Microsoft Office 2003.
Although I use a Mac all the time at home my computer at work is a PC, and I do have a few problems that I am sure are easy fixes but have no idea how to do them.
    many thanks in advance.

  • Making IE 11 as default browser for windows 8.1 Update

    Hi,
We are performing bulk deployments for Windows 8.1 Update using Config manager 2012 R2. Its x64 OS deployment.
I am looking for a way to make windows 8.1 Update IE browser as a default browser for all users.
Any local group policy or batch file or any script that would do this, would be great.
Can anyone pls. some script\pointers on how to achieve this? Thanks
    Regards,

prior to Win8, you could set file-type associations and protocol associations a few ways.
    e.g.:
    http://www.grouppolicy.biz/2011/09/how-to-use-group-policy-to-change-open-with-file-associations/
Since Win8, there are extra thing to deal with, e.g.:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/mrmlcgn/archive/2013/02/26/windows-8-associate-a-file-type-or-protocol-with-a-specific-app-using-a-gpo-e-g-default-mail-client-for-mailto-protocol.aspx

  • Is there a reason for Windows iTunes to be listed before Mac?

This is a little thing, but it's rather annoying to me.
Why does the forum for iTunes for Windows come before the forum for Mac users? I have to scroll down to get to the Mac forum. Despite the obvious of the forums being on Apple's site even alphabetically M comes before W. Every where else on the web Mac users are treated like second class citizens even if we're considered at all. It's like being dissed in your own home.
Am I missing something like Windows users can't figure out how to scroll down and post in the Mac forums if the Mac forums come first?

    So... Windows users can't read.
I still don't like it. What should happen is anyone posting with IE for PC should be given a special java prompt (like the ones Mac users get elsewhere telling them the site won't work with non-MS-Monopoly browsers) saying
"Are you sure you're posting in the right forum? Please don't annoy the Mac users in their iTunes forum."

  • Is there a script for Windows I can use to make iTunes read CD text?

I've looked all over and all I cannot seem to find one that works for Windows, only Apple. Thanks!

Yes, but you can always try customized skins from this site: http://itunes-skins.com/ .

  • Pocket Browser for Windows CE 4.10 in PDT9000 Emulator/Upgrading Win CE 4.1

    Dear Experts,
I have been challanged with installing a PocketBrowser in a PDT9000 Emulator for Symbol MC90XX devices which runs in Windows CE 4.1 platform.
I need to install a PocketBrowser in order to access functionalities of my Java WebDynpro application in the emulator.
The version I have installed in my emulator seems to be for Windows CE 4.2 and higher. Could anyone of you help how to resolve this problem? The solution could be to upgrade the OS, if any of you are familiar with these type of issues would you please give me  hand? It is for my thesis and I will really appreciate your help!
    Thank you!
    Regards,
    Shoira

I'm afraid that I only built QT for CE once and that was many years ago, so I am hardly an expert.
I would search the entire QT code base and see if you can figure out what it thinks std::Lockit actually is.  I would still try adding my own std::Lockit::~Lockit just to see if you can resolve the compile errors (this would obviously still need to
be resolved, but at least you would know that is your only problem).
As far as static linking, try to figure out where the /MD (or /MDd) compile option is coming from in the configuration scripts and change it to /MT (/MTd).
You might also look here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/16770179/what-std-lockit-does.  That sounds like you might have an interator debugging/secure SCL mismatch.

  • Is There A Way for Windows Outlook to SEE & RESPONSE to iCal/Mail's Invites

Hello all. I apologised first for sending out a similar topic again so soon.
I "was" using Mail and iCal in the office and the 'rest' of my 90% colleagues are on PCs with Windows Outlook.
When I create a new event in iCal and send an invite either by adding attendees and click send at the bottom of the Info Drawer, OR highlight the event and right click 'Mail Event'
Needless to say, my PC friends all they receive is the email with the text info, they cannot reply, accept or reject the invite, 'cause there's nothing to it, even the ".ics" attachment is a blank attachment, they got nothing to a "link" mentioned in the email to click to, they also cannot add the event to their calendar.
Sad to say, in short, the invite is quite pointless and useless to them.
I like iCal and Mail very much and would like to continue using them; I use Mail at home because I have lesser invites to do and also, more Junk to filter.
Until there is a possible solution, I may have "no choice" but to switch to Entourage, which seems to have no problem sending invites. (They can also read incoming invites both from Mail and Outlook perfectly)
    Thanks and cheers

I've read this article regarding problems of Japanese users and decided to post it here instead of making n+1st separate topic:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301986
I have a similar problem, but with Russian characters. When I add attendees to my event in iCal and send them invitations, some of them (MS Windows/Outlook 2003 users) see garbage in the e-mail they recieve. The Sender field contains garbage where my name should be, and then goes the e-mail address of mine which looks normal.
It happens because the message sent with Mac OS X Mail is being encoded in Unicode while MS Outlook expects cp1251 (Windows) encoding, so my name taken from 'My card' entry in Mac Address Book is shown wrong.
How do I change default encoding to cp1251? I tried doing (according to the instructions in the articel for Japanese users):
    # defaults read com.apple.mail
but it said there is no such domain, and listing of domains gives:
    # defaults domains
    blued, com.apple.Bluetooth, com.apple.HIToolbox, com.apple.driver.AppleHIDMouse, com.apple.symbolichotkeys
OK, I just temporarily changed my name by retyping it in transliteration, so that there are no Russian characters.
The message received by MS Outlook looks fine then, but the answers sent back to me aren't processed by iCal properly! It shows that a reply is received but doesn't updates the status - agreed, declined, tentative.
What do I do with that? Are there any additional actions my colleagues can take? Any additional software? Anything?!
