Is there a character limit in Mail on iPhone or iPad?

When composing an email message, in the Mail app, is there a character limit in the body of the email on an iPhone or iPad?

I did lots of testing last night on this issue.
It's quite repeatable. I tested it on LV 7.1 (OSX) and the bug is there, but LV 8b120 works OK.
I have attached the LLB that I sent to tech support.
Here is the report I sent:
Problem Description :
Apparently there is a character limit on ENUM
items.
If I add two characters to any item in this enum,
LabVIEW will CRASH when I apply changes. The
crash occurs without actually RUNNING the
program.
I have tested on LabVIEW 7.0 (Win2000) and
7.1.1 (OS X). Both exhibit the same behavior.
LabVIEW 8.0 b120 (OS X) does NOT crash - it
works correctly.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1... Open the library and keep HDT SORT
CHANNELS INTO PAGES.vi open.
2... Open HDT UNITS CONTROL.ctl in the library.
3... Add two or more characters to any item in
the ENUM.
4... APPLY CHANGES
5... Watch LabVIEW crash.
It certainly leads to bizarre behavior - If you remove the UNITS control from the HDT DISPLAY UNITS vi while you change the typedef, there is no crash. But as soon as you put it back and wire it to the connector, ALL the terminals turn to (void).

This is not a great answer, but you can base your report on a SQL Command, then use something like this for the command(MS SQL):
select
case when length(table.field) > 65535
      then substring(table.field,1,65535)
      else table.field end as field_part1,
case when length(table.field) > 65536+65535
      then substring(table.field,65536, 65535)
      when length(table.field) between 65536 and 65536+65535
      then substring(table.field,65536, length(table.field)-65535)
      else '' end as field_part2
from table...
Then in the report, display both fields where you want the BLOB data.

Is there a character limit for iTunes U course postings when viewing in iOS app?

I have created a course in iTunes U using the web interface, but when I view the course on my iPad it doesn't show the entire post. Is there a character limit in the app or something for what will display?
To make things even stranger, I went back to the course editor in my browser and saved it again (effectively re-posting it) and when I restarted the iTunes U app in iOS the post was cut even shorter! I'm using an iPad 3rd gen with iOS 6.0.1.

No, there is no workaround. You would need to find a downloadable copy of old apps.

My wife makes long notes on her iPhone 5, but some of her notes just disappear. Is there a size limit on Notes on iPhone 5?

We don't get any error messages - basically we have converted an XML structure to a std::wstring which we then convert to PMString and store as persistent data on the document. Somewhere along the way the string has been truncated which means that when we try to read it back into an XML structure it fails. It sounds like this isn't an issue with storage in the document, it must be being truncated before it gets into the document.
I just wanted to check what the limit was in the document (I haven't been able to find that in any documentation) so that I could trap any strings that were too big before they were written into it.

Is this on wifi or cellular data?
Have you tried a reset? Hold down the home/power button until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
Have you gone into the email settings and making sure the password are still there?

We are moving a app from the Oracle apex site (10g) to our apex environment (9.2) and when I open a Dynamic PL/SQL region on a page, add a space to the declaration area just to cause it to be different, I try and save it and it goes to:
"The webpage cannot be found"
This happened at another job and I believe it was a environment setting to extend the character limit ability.???
If so, what do I change and how do I change it?
If not, any ideas?

I cannot read S/MIME encrypted Mails on iPhone and iPad

I have a Certificate for my email address by Comodo. It is installed in Thunderbird on PC and iPhone and iPad with iOS 7.1.2.
Thunderbird on PC behaves like expected, i can send and read encrypted emails.
On iPad and iPhone i cannot read encrypted emails.
I imported my S/MIME Certificate via email attachment (p.12-File) and activated it in the mail section for my account. I also enabled signature and encryption function.
1. When i receive an email that is signed but not encrypted, the certificate of the sender is trusted & installed.
2. When i receive an email that is encrypted, the same sender is now shown in red color. I cannot read the email, because my profile allegedly does not contain my identitiy.
3. When i try to reply to the signed but not encrypted email (1.) then the message i send is signed but not encrypted, even though the address is shown in blue with a lock (which text info: encryption is possible).
4. When I send an encrypted email to my own account via ipad or iphone, i can read it on both ipad and iphone. This makes me think that the iOS Mail App uses S/MIME encryption a little bit different then Thunderbird.
All of this does not fit together. It think I correctly installed my certificate but there are problems in the Mail Program on iOS.

Solved: the problem was that the emails were encrypted with an old public key.

Multiple E-mail Addresses: Iphone to Ipad

I have multiple e-mail addresses on my phone (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook). The one e-mail address associated with my ICloud account transferred from the Iphone to Ipad fine but the other two did not. Is there an easy way to transfer them, since I already have them set up on my IPhone?

Do you mean you have multiple email accounts and therefore you will have multiple email addresses?
You can't sync email accounts over the air via WiFi. You can sync email account settings using iTunes on your computer or you can set each account up on the other devices in the settings.

Like many here, I have the full eco-system of Apple products.
My company uses Exchange mail server, and I have an iMac (I use Mail on it), an iPhone and iPad.
Now, everytime I check my mail on either device, I have to go to my other 2 devices and select them to 'Mark as Read'. Sometimes I don't check my mail on my iPad for days and when I do use it, I see 500 emails on my Mail app and I have to spend 15 minutes marking all of them as read.
I'm wondering if there's a way around this?

Ok, I have a similar question. I have two comcast email addresses and a gmail and a yahoo email address. I too would like to be able to sync my emails so I do not have to delete them individually from each device. (I also have an android phone).
I am still running snow leopard on iMac 2009 and have a new iPad and a 2010 MbPro.
I have read various user guides, particularly the standard iPad users guide and nowhere is this topic adequately addressed.

Can't setup BT Mail on iPhone or iPad after workin...

Having been asked to change to the new look BT Mail (had to change password, for some reason) on laptop on 19th Sept, noticed on Friday 26th that I couldn't send emails from iPhone (receiving OK). Ran throught the steps suggested on several threads on this forum but kept getting error message "password or usename is incorrect...". Tried deleting account, etc - no good. Saturday morning, tried again - worked perfectly - able to set up BT Mail as described and send emails. Saturday afternoon, tried to retrieve mail - got the error message again - could not receive mails now! Ran through the steps again and again. Cannot complete setup. Checked on iPad - same issue. Checked settings against my wife's phone and ipad - she has no issue and settings are the same. She hasn't changed to the new BT Mail. Suspect that something hasn't synchronised on server side with the new password.
Have checked login to My BT, BT Sport, etc and all OK. Checked my BT profile and looks OK. As I said, it was working fine for a few hours yesterday but then failed again. Any ideas?

Hi, I have had the same issue for the last few days. However today I set up a mail account on my ipad & iphone with my previous password and it works! make sure you put your previous email password under the outgoing server details too. It worked for me so I have now contacted BT again to ask why it is allowing me to use old passwords on the iphone/ipad but can only use the new password on the laptop webmail. Good Luck

I have an own business plus private email accounts + my email account for my other job all installed on both my MacBook and my iPhone, and also on the iPad. In the beginning, everything was fine, but now each time I get an email, which I read and delete or put in the right folder, I have to delete it again on iPhone and on iPad.
How can i setup mail mail accounts so that if I read the email on for example the MacBook Mail, and put it in a folder, the email won't show up in the iPhone and iPad inbox? This really would save me a lot of time!

Is There A Character Limit to Region Source?

I created a PL/SQL Dynamic Content region. I was in the process of adding PL/SQL code to region source and every thing was working fine when I started getting the following error when ever I press the Apply Changes button:
1 error has occurred
ORA-06550: line 609, column 1: PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "END" when expecting one of the following: * & = - + ; < / > at in is mod remainder not rem <> or != or ~= >= <= <> and or like LIKE2_ LIKE4_ LIKEC_ between || member SUBMULTISET_ The symbol ";" was substituted for "END" to continue.
I cannot find anything wrong with the PL/SQL code. I did notice however, that if I remove enough lines of code the error message goes away. Is there some limit to the number of lines or number of characters the region source can hold?? If so is there some way to increase this limit? Thanks for the help.

I understand what you are saying. I looked up mod_plsql and understand this is a limitation of the Oracle HTTP web server. But is there a way to configure the web server so it can handle more data? I find it hard to belive that people are not writting a lot longer PL/SQL code than I am.

Imap with a 100 message limit (like mail for iphone)

i'd like to know if there is a way to ask apple mail to only download/display the last 50 or 100 emails of an IMAP inbox.
this is the way apple mail works for iphone...
can i configure it this way on mac OS X leopard ?

You can set it up to not download any message until you click on one in the list to read. This is done in Mail Preferences/Accounts/Advanced by selecting to not keep copies of messages and their attachments, or can limit it to keep with the attachments. However, Search of the entire message depends upon having these temporary copies on board you Mac.
