Is there a converter to firewire for air?

I'd like to set up someone with a macbook air and an older mac mini as an external firewire storage device.
Is there a way, will an air machine recognize a usb-to-firewire adaptor?

I have always done what you suggest (works fine in FCP7), but in FCPX when I do that the camcorder icon
does not appear. It only shows up when I DIRECTLY import the footage via firewire. ????

Some other threads advice to remove fonts, clean the caches, remove add ins but nothing works consistenty, for some it looks like it works, for me it failed.
What I did not try yet, was to move the Render files out of the malicious library to trash.

You can create it in Word or excel and then you can Convert it into .pdf Format

The air is different dimensions from other iPads, so look for cases made specifically for it. I know that Targus has some, so does Zagg and i'm sure other manufacturers do as well.

There are no profiles available for any Apple iPads (There are a few for iPhones only).
I checked through the Adobe Lens Profile Downloader software and no profiles listed for Apple devices there either.
Your choices would be to wait and see if Adobe ever adds a profile or to create your own using the Adobe Lens Profile Creator .

You can use Apple's iWorks suite of programs (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote) to do most of it in Lion.
Pages will open AppleWorks 6 word processing documents.
Numbers will open AW 6 spreadsheets.
Keynote will open AW 6 presentations.
You may already have those apps on your machine if you acquired it recently. If not, you can get them individually from the Mac Apple Store via download at about US$20 each; or on disk from the Apple Store for about US$80.
Note - with regard to word processing documents, Pages will open AW 6 versions, but not any earlier versions (such as AW 5 or ClarisWorks). So, be sure to update all you docs to AW 6 before transferring them to the Lion-booted machine.

Disappeared movieclip after converting flash project to AIR

Hey there,
I converted my flash project to AIR to remove the background, but now all my movieclips are gone. Only the buttons work, as does the rest of the code as far as I can see.
They don't seem to be just invisible, because there is no interaction possible with them. But i don't get an error report when testing.
The movieclips aren't in the scene from the beginning, but get added later on with addChild(). Maybe thats the problem?
How can I fix this?

All objects are set to visible as far as I can see.
I found out just now that they dont't really disappear, rather I had set the StageDisplayState to fullscreen, but the application seems to be much bigger than that, because the clips disappear from the screen.
If I don't turn on fullscreen they are visible again.
Also I had a mouseclick eventlistener on the stage before, it doesn't work anymore if you don't click directly on one of the clips. Same goes for mouseX and mouseY, they only report on the visible clip.
Everything works just fine if I set the window mode back to standard. What does the transparent mode change so that these things won't work?

There are hardware converters that will convert HDMI to various other types of output, however there are some issues with doing so that you should be aware of.
HDCP
HDCP compliant converters will not allow you to watch HDCP protected content such as that from the iTunes Store. Non compliant converters exist but we cannot discuss them under the Terms of Use for these communities.
Resolution and aspect ratio
I'm not aware of any converters that will scale the output from the Apple TV, any TV or projector which is used will need to be widescreen and support resolutions of 720p.

Is there a way to force for rendering ALL clips in work area? All clips: not only the ones with the red horizontal line indicating that they need rendering! I ask for this because the rendered clips preview very smoothly, but the unrendered ones do not! My source footage (and project) involves Full HD (1920*1080i 25fps).

If a Clip does not need Rendering, it will not be Rendered.
Basically, what Rendering does is to convert the Clips, that do require Rendering, to DV-AVI (SD Projects on a PC). This will yield AVI files in the Media Cache, Render Files, and for playback, PrE will rely on those. If you look in the Render File folder, you will see a bunch of abstractly named files, but those files are now Linked in the PREL (Project file), and will be used by the program for playback.
If one were to remove those Render files, and then Open that Project in PrE, they'd receive a message, "Where is file 04u434ip0ow.AVI?" [Note: that is just an example of the abstract Render file name, and is not the actual name, that one would see.]. One could Ignore those now missing Render files, and where they were used, there would then be red lines over those Clips.
As Steve mentions, the Render files are used only for smoothest playback. As I use DV-AVI files for SD Projects on my PC, I will not need to Render for smoothest playback, until I make changes to the Clips, like overlay Titles, PiP, Effects, etc.. I might never Render the Timeline, even with those additions, but sometimes, I will Render a small segment many times, especially with animated Effects, as I adjust the parameters.
If one is not getting the smoothest playback, then Rendering all files requiring Rendering will usually improve playback greatly.

Converting DVD Footage for Editing

It is always best to start the editing process with the highest quality, least compressed video format you can obtain. However, sometimes the only source you have for footage is from a DVD*. But since DVD footage is highly compressed and specially formatted as VOB files in order to meet the DVD-Video specification, the files on the DVD must be converted if you plan to edit them in Final Cut.
There are many apps available for converting DVD footage, but it is extremely important that you use the right tool for doing this if you plan to edit the footage. Beware that some apps, like Handbrake, are not designed to convert to an editing format. Using the wrong app can mean wasted time, unneeded quality loss due to multiple conversions, needless rendering in FCP and just plain frustrating.
The two recommended apps for conversion to an editing format are DVDxDV and MPEG Streamclip.
