Is there a cord for transfering from my PC to my ipad

Is there a cord I can purchase for transfering pictures movies etc. from my PC to my IPAD2

The cord that you use to charge the iPad will also handle this. Unplug it from the power blcok and plug that end into your computer (USB port). You will also need to make sure you have iTunes installed on the PC.

  • Is there an update for bridge from cs4

Since I'm having trouble with my new cs5 suite I was wondering if there were updates for bridge from my old cs4.  I need an update to support a new camera.

Bridge does not "support" camera models. Only ACR (Adobe Camera Raw) does.
The last version of Bridge for CS4 is Bridge 3.0.0.64 and the last version of ACR for Photoshop CS4 is ACR 5.7.
If your camera is not supported by ACR 5.7, you would have to download the free, stand-alone Adobe DNG Converter 6.4 and convert your raw files to DNG raw files with it.
Bridge is just a file browser.  It does not open or edit files, it just hands them over to the appropriate editor, whether that be ACR, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat or even MS Word.  Bridge depends on ACR to bui8ld the thumbnails and previews for raw files.
Incidentally, there is a dedicated Adobe Bridge Macintosh forum:

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

  • Using the Firewire power cord for transfers

I have a 20 GB, fourth generation, iPod. It came with a USB adaptor for transfers and a firewire adaptor for charging. The firewire cable plugs into a charging block which connects to an electrical outlet. Is it possible to disconnect the firewire cable from the charging block and use it as a normal firewire cable for transfers? I ask because I have a front mounted Firewire port on my PC, but no available USB port. TIA
20 GB, fourth generation   Windows XP Pro

Semantics? Well not really. If you ask a question
here about a usb adaptor, others will think you are
referring to the power adaptor, not a usb cable which
"connects" a usb port to a dock connector rather than
    "adapts".
Yes, semantics. And yes, the Firewire to iPod dock connector, and the USB to iPod dock connector are, in fact, adaptor cables. Just because Apple may not use the term doesn't change what they are. Even Apple refers to their power adaptors as "power adaptors", or "charging blocks", USB or not. I never used the word "power", when referring to them so "adaptor" still applies.
Do a search for USB adaptor cables and you will find quite a diversity of products yet few, if any, include any form of power supply.
There are 4 pin and 6 pin firewire cables. Apple
provides the 6 pin variety which transfers both data
    and power.
You do have the 6 pin port on your computer?
    Of course.

  • Is there a charge for texting from ipod touch to non apple phones?

My kids have ipod touches and a couple of their friends have cell phones they are texting to.  Is there a charge for this?  They do have Textie, but I don't think all of the kids have that on their phones.

It depends what application you are using. The standard Messenger application that comes with iPod 5.0 Software can only messenge iPod to iPod. A third party application, such as textPlus, (which I use) can text to phones for free, with internet connection. The incoming text dosn't charge the recipient. So it is, as it says, free texting.

  • Since the iTunes update, it no longer works for transfering pics or books to my ipad.

    Hi there!
Just want to transfer an album of photos from iPhotos on my five year old Macbook to my iPad or iPod. It used to be easy!
Instructions say to click on the "photos" icon in iTunes after connecting the iPad to the computer. All I see are the icons for the apps that have been loaded onto the iPad. No "photos" icon. The old iTunes worked well for transfering books and pics from a Macbook to an iPad. The new iTunes doesn't seem to have any functionality, other than backing up downloaded apps.
Wish iTunes had a printed tutorial! Maybe they do? All I see is a video.
    Thanks, anyone!

The Photo tab  .. when you click on your device, in the sidebar, should look like this....

  • Airplay no longer works for me from my iPhone 6 or iPad Air 2

Airplay is no longer working for me. I have three Apple TVs, and stream from my personal cloud. I can no longer select any of the Apple TVs from my iPhone 6 or iPad Air 2. This worked for months up until the last few days.  Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Hey philipfromcharlotte,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, you are having trouble using AirPlay from an iPhone and iPad to an Apple TV. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

  • Is there any Help for video from iPhone3GS?

Can anyone please tell me how to get the video from my iPhone3GS to transfer upright?  All videos sync sideways.
Is there anything I can do to fix this?
I still have the videos on my phone and can sync again if necessary.
    Please help.

If you have the new AppleCare+ service, then yes:
    http://www.apple.com/support/products/iphone.html
Otherwise, maybe. Regular AppleCare, if you have it, can't help you. But you might still be able to get it repaired – of course, any repair will cost you. Apple will replace a damaged iPhone for a flat fee.

  • Need advice for transferring from a reel-to-reel to computer

I need a bit of help and some suggestions, please. I have 2 double-sided reel-to-reel tapes of an oral history (my father), which is very old (1970s). I need to copy it over to my computer and ultimately burn it to a CD(s) or DVD to preserve it.
I thought to use garage band to do this, or even microsoft word has a note-taking feature that records.
Can someone tell me the best way to do this to preserve the sound, which is 100% speech (no music), what I will need to do this, and the logistics of it. Do I just turn the reel-to-reel on play with cables going into my comp? How does it start recording to the computer?
I had thought to send the tapes out, but they're my only copy and I would be devastated if they were lost in the mail or screwed up by whomever I sent them to; I just feel better doing it myself.
The tapes are becoming brittle on the ends so I need to do this as soon as possible. Also, will putting them on CD preserve them, or should I reburn them periodically? How long do CDs last, anyhow?
Thanks for all help and suggestions.

One other thing, in addition to what was said above - if the material is particularly important to you, then copy to as many different formats as possible......snip
If you keep a copy in iTunes, you can save a lot of space by compressing to quite a low rate (less than 128 AAC say) as it is speech only and the drop in quality will barely be noticeable.
I just saw this thread and am in the same position. Guess that's why one looks through the archives!!!
    Quick question/s.
I googled AAC and wikipedia ( I know...not always correct!!) says: "Most lossy compression formats suffer from generation loss: repeatedly compressing and decompressing the file will cause it to progressively lose quality". Now I know Apple would not be using a format that would lead to loss of data...so I am curious if someone could explain the discrepancy.
    Second question.
The reel - to - reel I wish to convert contains someone practicing for a concert..so it's not quite speech, but it is in a way. I have iMic ( but do not recall having obtained s/w with it). Does the same recommendation hold ie hook a reel-to-reel tape player ( finding one will be a trick) via iMic to my computer, then using an appropriate AAC rate to do the transfer. Any other tricks/pitfalls to lookout for. ( Not sure how much data there is, but the reel is about 7" diameter)
    Thanks in advance.

  • Is there a cord for hhdmi (on the Apple TV) to a vga cord, Is there a cord for hhdmi (on the Apple TV) to a vga cord

I bought a Apple TV and thought I would use it on one tv but have thought about maybe using on a projector which does noes not have hhdmi but only RCA and VGA

I don't think apple sells one but I would check other places. Here's one for around $16 on Amazon with over 4 stars. I do believe it would be compatible. http://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Active-Female-Adapter/dp/B007SM7O2U/ref=sr_1 _5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1390801291&sr=1-5&keywords=HDMI+to+VGA . • Is there a download for upgadeing from 10.3 to 10.3.9?

I had to just do a reinstall and I need to upgrade but I can't find the download.

    Hi beenhacked,
As Michael posted you want that combo update. The 10.3.9 Combo has all the point updates packaged in one download saving incremental updating.
Upgrades and updates are different. Upgrades are what you do when you upgrade the OS to a new version of the OS such as 10.2 Jaguar to 10.3 Panther or to 10.4 Tiger or 10.5 Leopard. The incremental point updates such as 10.3 to 10.3.1 or 10.3.2 etc. are referred to as updates. Updates normally do not include new features but rather enhancements/compatibility issues to the OS you are using and security fixes whereas upgrades will have many new features such as Leopards "Time Machine" or the introduction of "Dashboard" in Tiger etc.
just wanted to clarify if you were confused by updates and full "upgrades" to the OS.
Remember to repair permissions using Disk Utility in your Applications>Utilities folder before and after the download of the 10.3.9 Combo that Michael linked to and you should have a much smoother update.
Additionally, have a look at "Software update, upgrade--what's the difference?"
    good luck,
