Is there a dictation app available for the iPad 1?

On the iPad, go to Settings > General > About and you'll see the version.
The App Store is an app on the iPad.

Meg's and Jim's suggestions will probably find what you are looking for.  However, it might be more convenient to use a small DC-to-AC converter that plugs into your car's lighter socket, and use the iPad's wall charger with that.

  • Is there a better email app available for the iPad

I use some web based CRM software but i still use Thunderbird for my email. On my PC i have it set up so that it sends a BCC to an email address provided by the people who operate the CRM software. This then allows the CRM software to pick up the emails and save them against a customer contact.
The issue i'm finding with the iPad is you can't seem to set up a permenant, static BCC? Is this right? If so are there any other email apps that do allow this.
Many thanks in advance as this is quite crucial for me!
    Cheers,
    Chris

Good idea, but the iPad games are not able to change the touchscreen controls to the buttons of a USB gamepad, the games need to be compatible with it.
That's the part I wasn't aware of. Thanks for the good info.

I've seen those before (but I think another company invented them, not Logitech). I'm reluctant to buy one because it relies on suction cups. I bought something called the Joystick-It by ThinkGeek, and while the idea is novel, getting the suction cup to stay in one place on the gamescreen is 99% impossible. I've cleaned, polished, buffed the screen every way possible and no matter how smooth its surface may be, I can't keep that suction cup stationary.

  • Is there a FlashPlayer app available for the Pre?

Please post all Pre-related questions in the proper webOS section of the forum.

If there's isn't such an app, there should be.
Based on what I have read here, the Pre is a very talkative device, regularly checking your email, contacts, and other sync'd data.
That said, 1 gigabyte is a pretty good amount of data. I've never hit even half that much with email and a little video watching (through the Skyfire browser, which I think compresses the data). This is from Sprint's plan analysis tool:
Does Bell have an online tool that shows how much data you've used in your current or in previous billing periods?
    == Edit ==
One reason my usage was lower the past two periods was that the Sprint Navigation software stopped working for 6 weeks (until I hard reset my device).

My iPod touch is a model MB528LL and runs version 4.2.1.  I would like to download the At Bat 12 app. (the $14.99 version) so I can listen to professional baseball games this year.  Will there be an app. available for my iPod this year?

I went to the link you posted and followed all the steps.  I was thrilled to see that it worked!  I don't recall whether my PC still recognized my iPod Touch as a camera or not, but DEVICES did show up in iTunes and it recognized the name of my iPod Touch.
Now, though, everything is back the way it was.  The PC tells me I have a camera connected via USB and iTunes doesn't even have DEVICES listed in the left-hand column.
I'm wondering if this is the problem:  I had the iPod on until the battery was so "low" that it stopped.  I didn't press and hold the button on top.  In fact, until I read the article you linked to, I didn't even know you could turn the iPod on and off that way.  I would only press it once until the screen turned blank and simply pressed the Home buttom to turn it back on.  Until I read that article, I thought the Home button was the On button.
So now my question is this:  Should I ALWAYS turn the iPod off by pressing and holding the button on top until I see the red slider on the screen?
    Thanks!

I'm not aware of free apps that will let you work with Word, Excel, etc.  There are however, paid apps, such as Pages and Numbers you can buy that will work for you.

I have a hard time understanding why I can't contact support about THEIR problem. I plugged my iPhone into my pc. iTunes came up. It said there was an update available for the phone. I accepted that. Clicked on the "download only" because I didn't have the time to install it at that point. It downloaded but didn't stop. It continued to the 'backing up your iPhone' segment then froze. I waited at least an hour with no change. Finally I unplugged my phone..iTunes wasn't responding.I rebooted my pc then tried the same thing again. Same outcome even though I let it "Back Up" for 7-8 hrs while I slept. Same Story...............         iTunes 10.4.0.80 is the software I'm using. When my phone is 'plugged' in what I see on it's face is "Sync in Progress".....for hours!

Synced media like apps and music are not included in the iPod backup that iTunes makes. You can redownload iTunes purchases by:

  • Is there a virus protection software available for the ipad 2?

IS there any form of virus protection softward available for the ipad 2? Have seen AVG etc for ipad 2 talked about.

It's not strictly correct to say there are no viruses or to be more accurate 'malware' for i-devices as there are
There isn't. Provide links/proof if there are.
If you really are an admin for McAfee then you should know what a virus is, and that there are none for iOS. If there were a virus for iOS it would be all over the news. It is also true to say there is no malware for stock iOS devices. If you've jailbroken your device, then maybe so, but you've purposefully put yourself at risk.
hence the last 2 iOS updates which were patching various vulnerabilities.
Yes, just like any OS, there have been vulnerabilities that, potentially, could be used for malware purposes, but iOS has been available for over 4 years and still not one virus or malware breakout. If you knew anything about the way iOS works, and how apps get approved, installed and run, you would know why a virus is virtually impossible, and even a trojan is very unlikely.
Apple has a policy of never discussing security issues as they like to pretend that their products are totally immune, but they aren't.
Like lots of companies, Apple don't discuss security vulnerabilities BEFORE they are fixed, because that would be irresponsible and make it easier for hackers to exploit. Apple have never pretended their products are totally immune. Use your brain, if Apple thought their products were immune, why would they release regular security updates?
Companies like McAfee make money out of spreading FUD and making people believe they have to fork out lots of money for so-called "protection" that in most cases they don't need and doesn't work for unknown issues anyway. And now they're trying to prey on uninformed Windows users, who after years of being subjected to the real threat of viruses and malware now think they need the same for iOS devices.

  • Will the standard iPad case fit the the iPad Air or is there a specific type case for the iPad Air?

Will the standard iPad case fit the the iPad Air or is there a specific type case for the iPad Air?

The air is different dimensions from other iPads, so look for cases made specifically for it. I know that Targus has some, so does Zagg and i'm sure other manufacturers do as well.
