Is there a dot matrix printer that works with iMac

Trying to find an impact printer to do invoices on an imac computer, but no luck so far.  Any ideas?

  • Is there a printer that works with imac

I upgraded my operating system and now I can not get any printer to work??

Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion occasionally results in a somewhat rocky transition with one's existing printers.
I recommend deleting your existing printers from System Preferences > Print & Fax, and adding them again. Better yet is to "reset the printing system" as described here: Mac OS X: How to reset the printing system
After you do that you will need to add the printers again according to the instructions here:
OS X Mountain Lion: Set up a printer
Then, check for updates using the App Store. All your printer's functions that you have been accustomed to using in Snow Leopard should still be available, though some are hidden in dropdown menu selections using OS X's standard Print dialog.

  • Is there an in car camera that works with iMac

What brand and model of camera did you buy?

Is there a security surveillance system that works with a MacBook Pro or iPod Touch?

Problem is most vehicles can't supply enough power to charge a MacBook Pro battery, not without placing a generator in the engine compartment someplace like police cars and campers have.
Apple provides the MagSafe Airline Adapter but it's designed for 15V, not the 12V of vehicles, then it's only to keep the battery from discharging on airplanes, it won't charge it.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB441Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDEwMQ&mco=MTA4NDE2Mjc
"It's designed for 15V DC that you find on airplanes. If you are the DIY type, you can make your own 15V DC automotive socket by using an automotive universal laptop supply to step up the car's 12V to 15V"
    I found this online:
    http://www.365laptop.us/product_info.php?language=en&currency=USD&products_id=10 64
    Notice the device says:
    "Input: 11-14V DC 8Amp MAX "   - Cars are 12V DC.
Output: -DC 15V.... the same as the Airline Adapter
Looks like one needs to cut and splice the two parts/wires one needs together.
This 12V to 15V conversion is a lot better/streamlined than trying to upconvert 12V DC to a whopping 120 AC and then your Mac's power brick is downconverting 120AC to what it needs in DC to try to charge the battery which the vehicle can't supply the wattage for anyway.
Apple has a patent on the MagSafe adapter, they don't provide a 12V to 15V converter + MagSafe adaptor for the car. It would be nice if they did though.

  • I would like to buy a HP printer that works with Windows 8 preview.

Understand that HP will not release drivers for existing printers until August at earliest and that is OK....I have 3 HP Laserjet 1020s that have been great and will buy a new HP printer if it will work now with Windows 8 preview.  Any suggestions or any fixes/patches for 1020 that work.  Also interested in any non-HP printers that work with Windows 8 preview?  Prefer HP but will buy first printer that works from any mfg. as I would like to give Windows 8 a real try.   Believe HP is missing boat by not putting a patch out for some of their printers as soon as possible as I am not the only HP user looking to buy any printer that works with Windows 8.

is there a version of cards that works with ios 5.1.1

    http://www.stuffit.com/mac/expander/
I'm pretty certain that I got my version of stuffit, which has worked excellently on my Intel MBP, from that site. I downloaded it around the time when I first got the laptop, so I'm pretty sure that's the site.
If it's not let me know and I can give you links to a different site, or I can just e-mail you the installer file directly.
If it doesn't work for any other reason, or does the encrypted thing that you stated, let me know I'll look into it.

  • Printer that works with Airport Extreme Base Station

Hi. We are very new to Macs (2 weeks). Have a Mac Book and AEBS. Both work fine. Our HP printers, however, only work if connected directly to the Mac Book. I'm informed that we need to get a printer that works with the AEBS if we wish to have wireless printing. If anyone can recommend a printer that works with AEBS, we'd be grateful. Thanks.

Hello Jungle-cat. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
Check out the following iFelix site to see which printers are known to work (not not) with the new 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn).

  • Cannot get printer to work with iMac

I cannot get my Epson printer to work with my iMac , It just keeps saying it cannot find printer.
All the other settings are correct , its just the server that fails. I have downloaded printer files ,
sometimes it does recongise it and works, then it stops, I have tried downloading the program again but it makes no difference.
Need to use printer and scanner for my job, and this is driving me mad!!

It sounds like BT's hardware may have a firewall that's blocking more than it should.

is the printer/scanner listing from Apple.
Use this link: http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1398 to get the latest Epson drivers if your printer/scanner is compatible.
If it isn't, here are some alternatives from my macmaps page:
Epson, alternate Australian site may have more up-to-date drivers for Epson, Epson RIP and colormatching drivers from iProof Systems, Guten-Print (formerly known as Gimp-print), and Printfab. http://www.linuxprinting.org/macosx/

  • Mac OS 10.4.7 : Is there a printer that works with this system? Canon CAN'T

Can anyone suggest a currently available, reasonably priced printer that actually works with 10.4.7??

CD printing should be done on printable CDs, not on labels. You can print labels and then put them on the CD.
There are a number of printers that will work, but it depends on your needs. The most compatible printers are PostScript, followed by PostScript clones.
I also have an Epson inkjet, which almost works fine, except that the host computer will not sleep when it is powered up and sharing the printer. Actually, the display goes to sleep and will not wake up, which is bad.

deggie is correct; BT only works with some headphones and keyboards. You'd have to invest in one of the 3rd party apps in the App Store to get your printing done.

  • All-in-one printer that works with Airport Extreme (n)

    Hi all,
I have recently bought an Intel MacBook and an Airport Extreme 'n'.
Now I am looking for a compatible all-in-one (multifunction) printer. I have been searching on the net all day till my eyes are sore.
I don't need to use it too often so am looking for a a cheapie under $120. I mainly need it for printing black and white, photocopying and scanning the occasional document.
Is anyone using one with decent quality or can recommend one?
I know about ifelix's list but am looking for a recommendation as well as one that is compatible...
    thanks you...

I have looked around here, and just can't figure this
out, please someone help. I just purchased a 3180 hd
with my macbook. Was printing wirelessly fine with
my previous hd and new extreme. Now this one isn't
working and hp said that it is not a supported
wireless printer. Why on earth would apple sell this
    printer then.
Could someone please tell me how to make this printer
work over my new airport extreme base. PLEASE
This is the problem with the new airport extreme(n). All the printers work when connected directly to your computer, it is when they are connected to the base station that there seems to be compatibility problems. I have ruled out buying the C3180 for this reason.
Someone may be able to help you. If not you will either have to connect it directly to your mackbook to use it or return it and buy one that is compatible.

Any that advertise Airprint compability will work for printing. Note that you can't use the scanning or faxing features of an all-in-one with an iPad.
See the Airprint printers on the Apple store site:
