Is there a driver for Samsung CLX-3170 that works with OS 10.9.4 ?

Since I installed Mavericks my Samsung CLX-3170 Colour laser printer does not work properly.  Is there a new driver for this ?  I had a long chat with Samusng help desk that was totally inconclusive.  Trying to re-install the printer I was told that there is no driver currently available.  HELP !

You can try looking on these 2 sites for a driver.

Is there a driver for Windows 8.1 that works with HP Scanjet 5500c
    Thank you.

    Hi,
I afraid you will not be able to use the scanner with Windows 8.1, it is not compatible with the OS.
Regarding VueScan, I afraid it would not be an option as well, the application only support your scanners if there are drivers for the OS:
If there isn't an HP scanner driver at www.hp.com for your operating system, then unfortunately VueScan won't work with this scanner.
You may try using the Vista drivers by running the drivers using the Program Compatibility Troubleshooter as listed below.. select Not Listed from the programs list and browse to the installation file for Vista:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&dlc=en&docname=c03401961&lc=en#N63
The installation file for Vista can be downloaded below:

  • Is there a driver for the PXI-8310 that works with Windows 7?

The only one I can seem to find is for XP.

    Hello LouisTI,
Unfortunately there is not a Windows 7 driver for the PXI-Cardbus8310, as this is a legacy device which is currently going EOL (End of Life). The XP driver for the 8310 (which you may already have found) can be downloaded here:
    http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/370/lang/en
If using Win 7 is critical, we recommend the PXI-ExpressCard 8360 as a replacement for the 8310:

    Hope that helps!

Please help.  If anyone has or knows of a driver for the ImageClass D860 that works with a Windows 8 64 bit computer, please send it or the link to me at [MOD removed email address per FORUM GUIDELINES].     Thx.

I am trying to do a wedding and now spending too much time searching the web for tutorials and reviews to try to figure out what is going on. There needs to be better detailed help.

  • Looking for a back up drive for photos and videos that works with time machine, prefer wireless. Time capsule has poor reviews and already have BT hub

Looking for a back up drive for photos and videos that works with time machine, prefer wireless. Time capsule has poor reviews and already have BT hub that serves as a good router. 3gb or 4gb capacity preferred but 2 would suffice.

Plug a NAS into the BT Hub that does TM. Look at Synology.
You just use the wireless of the hub.
But the cheapest solution is still the TC.

  • Is there a driver for HP Scanjet 5370C that works for Windows 7?

I upgeaded from Win XP to Win 7 and HP scanner won't work. HP does not have a driver to support Win 7.
    This question was solved.

After double-checking this list, you're right in saying that there are no Win 7 drivers.   On a slightly better note, there was a link to Third-party scan software solutions on HP's website. Give those drivers a try, they might work for you.

  • Is there still no driver for M box 2 that works with Mavericks ?

Still struggling without my M box 2 because Mavericks kills it .
Unbelievable that avid doesn't do anything to fix this .
    I think I <will buy Focusrite Scarlet .
Does anybody know when and how Avid will solve this problem ?

    I have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2.
Focusrite's drivers did not work with either Mountain Lion or Mavericks. They tried- they really did. They even sent me some beta drivers that they wrote to try to fix the problem. None worked.
Then I just deleted all the Focusrite drivers- and it works fine just with Mavericks and Audio Midi Setup (it's in Utilities).
So you might try that- just uninstall any M box drivers that you have on your Mac and restart.

  • Is there a decent replacement for Mack The Ripper that works with Mavericks?

Is there a decent replacement for Mack The Ripper that works with Mavericks?

But this is not a plugin, it's basically Adobe's Photoshop lite - a standalone program.
The beauty of Intellihance was that is combined a few good native Photoshop adjustments into one menu which meant that you could perform a series of various adjustments and preview them all at once.
Don't want to leave PS to do this if I don't have to.

  • Hi - was looking to buy a macbook air soon but wanted to get it with lion software....anyone know when that is available and second question is what is best software for personal money management that works with lion.....use quicken now   thanks

Hi - was looking to buy a macbook air soon but wanted to get it with lion software....anyone know when that is available and second question is what is best software for personal money management that works with lion.....use quicken now   thanks

    quicken should work with lion.
Quicken Essentials will work with Lion.  Most people that have used Quicken for a while (i.e. Quicken 2007) have found that Quicken Essentials isn't much better than a basic spreadsheet.  It is a significant step down from previous versions and does not offer many of the features previously offered.  Right now, it seems like the two most common options are iBank and MoneyDance.
Frankly... this is a major opportunity for these companies.  The largest commercial distributor of this type of product has been Intuit (Quicken).  That makes it hard for any other company to get any of that market as so many people were already using Quicken and may have had years of data stored in it.  Now, with Quicken effectively out of the picture, it's a great chance for another company.  Just imagine if iPhones were suddenly off the market.  That would give other manufacturers a tremendous opportunity since they wouldn't have to fight an up hill battle against a market giant.

  • I need a USB Headset with Mic to use for Webinar's and Go To Meeting sessions. There looks to be very few options that work with the Mac as they seem to be designed for Windows.  Any suggestions on equipment?

I am looking for a binaural USB headset with microphone to use during Go To Meeting sessions and Webinar's. Seems to be little that works with the iMac and most of the web searches have not been encouraging. Any suggestions on units that work.  I have a new iMac running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.

  • Need a driver for HP DeskJet 812C to work with Mac OS X 10.8.5

Our Mac (desktop) has OS X 10.8.5 - we would like to use a perfectly fine older printer (yes, it IS older - but cannot afford to replace it at this time).  I got so far with a download only to discover that it "no longer works with a Power PC" - isn't there a basic driver to use for the time being so we can print?  This printer is a HP DeskJet 812C.
We also have an older HP OfficeJet G85 - we receive the same message about "not working with a Power PC" - is there  a generic driver to use either of these printers until we purchase a new one?  We are not expecting all the printer features - just print text on paper.
Thanks for advice/help with our problem!

    Hi needs_opinion,
Although I would like to help, there is no way of getting either the Deskjet 812c or the HP Officejet G85 to work with Mac OS X 10.8. Now I know you said you are not in a position to get a newer printer at this time, but please consider calling HP. I believe they may be able to help.
The technical department may be able to offer you a disount on a newer model, like a trade in trade up option, or the sales department could offer you a single function low end printer at a good price that will do the simple task of printing.
Here is an example of what could be available, this is from the US shopping webiste, hpshopping.com
The number to call HP is 1-800-474-6836 for Canada and US, or you can Contact HP Worldwide.
The only other option is to connect one of the printers to an older operating system. Even if you had an older Windows PC.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

  • Looking for a serial driver for an agilent 4395A to work with labview

Can only find one for gpib I have no interface for gpib on my PC but i do have a rs232/gpib converter and was wondering if I could get a serial driver for the agilent 4395A for this.
    Thanks

I've only used the RS232/GPIB converter to go from a GPIB bus to a serial instrument so I can't speak for going the other direction but I would give it a try. However, you have big problems with the driver if its the same one I just downloaded from NI. It's not really what I would call a driver at all but an application program meant to be used stand alone. There is no breakout of instrument functions into subVIs and none of the controls or indicators are on the connector so you can't even use the high level app as a subVI without a lot of work. It is a contributed driver but I'm surprised NI accepted it because it doesn't follow any of the published rules for an instrument driver. It's not even a good example of program design, imho. There is a VISA dr
iver available from Agilent here and I would try that instead. To use a VISA driver with a serial port, you just specify the VISA resource name for that port instead of the GPIB resource name. For example, a GPIB resource name of an instrument with an address of 5 would be "GPIB::5::INSTR". To communicate to your instrument over com port 1, the VISA resource name is "ASRL1::INSTR". If the instrument has a serial port in addition to the GPIB, you could also try skipping the converter. Some VISA drivers work fine either way.

  • Is there an emulator for OS 9.2 that works on 10.4.11?

    Hello,
I am running OSX 10.4.11 and I need to run a program that says it will only run on 9.2 or OSX in classic mode. I haven't just tried it yet, as I don't want to spend the money and then find out later I can't get it to work. I've been reading about the Basalisk (emulates 7.8, 8.0) and Sheep Shaver (emulates 9.4 and later) but is there something in-between? ...also it looks like you need to have a copy of 9.2 in the first place, as well as the emulator. I've also read that 9.2 simply won't run, in any way, on an intel-based system... Is there another way to do this?
This is the first mac, so I don't have any old OS software around...
    Thanks so much,
    Angie

What program is it? Have they made any updates to a newer OS X version? Are there any alternative OS X software programs that can meet your needs? If using the OS 9/classic program is essential with no alternatives in OS X/Intel world, maybe consider getting an older G3 or G4 Mac system that can boot OS 9.2 or run Classic under OS X, some of those models are fairly cheap now. Look for used Mac ads in your favorite Macintosh magazine.

  • Driver for Agfa Snapscan 1212u to work with Mac OS 10.4.11

Since obtaining Mac OS 10.4.11 I've been unable to get a driver that works for my Agfa Snapscan 1212u flatbed scanner. I've downloaded one for OSX from <http://static.agfa.com/digicamscanner_drivers/scanner/snapscan1212u/index.html> but when I try to open it get the message "the file is not a movie". Can anyone help? The scanner itself worked well until with an earlier OS.

The message could be a result of you selecting the wrong file format when scanning or the drivers you downloaded are too old and incompatible with your Mac - even if you are running Tiger.
I suggest you look at downloading and installing [VueScan|http://www.hamrick.com>. Your scanner is listed as a supported model and if you do ever update to Snow Leopard then this software will let you keep the scanner.
One last point. This is the Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) forum. You should have posted this question on the [Tiger (OS X 10.4)|http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=756] forum.
